Why not do this for all equips then ? Why not make transmuting for free ?

It’s more the time gated costs that is the problem. It takes 30 laurels just to get an amulet. To respec if they nerf your build is much more painful than buying another set of exotics. If they made it equivalent in time I wouldn’t have any objections.

At this point, if I used laurels only for my 8 toons for example, it will take about 2 and a half years to just get jewelry. There are ways to get it faster of course. But it’s still a significant amount of time to completely gear up all 8.

ANet doesn’t send people emails like that. If there is a problem they shut down the account and wait for you to contact them.

The log in for the two games may be the same. Same email and same password. I have two accounts so one of course is different, but my original account has the same login as Guild Wars 2.

If that doesn’t work you will need to contact Guild Wars 1 support.

A wardrobe system, badly needed.

The older this game gets, the more pressing the need for some sort of wardrobe system.

It was bad enough at first to leave old styles behind as my characters leveled. I really liked several of the old armor sets but I have 8 toons and I play them all. It’s not feasible to keep multiple soulbound armors for all of them. Not only is there a space issue but keeping track of which soulbound armor belongs to who without cycling thru all of them and checking individually would be a pain. Not to mention the cost of getting exotics for each set in inventory.

Now ANet is releasing cool backpieces at a fast clip. Soon each toon will have one, which is good. The bad part is what to do when more come out. Don’t get them, no matter how nice they are? Get and put on another backpiece to keep in in a toon’s inventory? Not only space issues again but cost. Not too bad if karma. Prohibitively expensive if ascended.

And then there are the weapons. Same problems.

My guess is, ANet could recoup the cost of implementing a wardrobe system by making you buy and use some sort of gem store item to attach a armor/weapon/backpiece to a wardrobe panel. They would get money, we would get flexibility in style.

Well, they should be account bound even when you equip them. The ascended Karka backpiece is account bound even after equipping. I switched that one between my alts till I found the right character for it.

The problem is, if you have multiple toons they are so expensive that if you need to change builds after you buy them, the cost is prohibitive. If they remained account bound you could get different stats and mix and match as needed among your alts. You could buy one set and use them for all your toons if you wanted. I would recommend all who got the wrong weapon to submit a bug report if you haven’t already so they know how bad the problem is. And also for a chance to get it changed to the right one, maybe another chance to choose.

I do believe the names you gave as examples bear out what Gaile said and not what you claimed. For one, it wasn’t because of a reference to a weapon, but to where that weapon was placed on the female body. Second, if you didn’t know the medical meaning of the other word, why did you choose it for a character, ‘because he had a pained look on his face’? What made you choose that word unless it had the medical reference that tied it to the pained expression?

There does seem to be a number of people who say they chose one and got another. One does have to wonder if there is a bug here. Unfortunately, I suspect that even if there is one and its fixed, there is probably no way to do a retroactive change for those who didn’t get what they wanted.

However, those who selected one and got another should file a bug report.

Yeah. Most likely you got someone else’s mail. When you make up a mail, it auto selects some random person by you first if you are in a crowd. Or the guy thought it was funny to send it to you.

Setting aside your informal fallacies, there’s a difference here. Players with a sense of “entitlement” want free stuff for doing nothing. HoM 50/50 was earned, thus it’s not entitlement if you actually deserve it.

Who says you actually deserve it? The only person here who says that is you. Yes you, and I, achieved 50/50. And we got lots of stuff for it. Exclusive armor, weapons, mini pets, ranger pets, vanity titles and now an additional 500 achievement points worth an extra reward chest. Asking for more is greedy, but not surprising for a person like you who wanted to stop others from getting a Legendary weapon after you got yours. That does seem to be your theme. ‘I got mine and to heck with anyone else’. Not real strong on the old empathy it seems.

I don’t believe they have said they will, or even can, fix this sort of error. You get another chest with a selection of weapon skins at 2000 achievement points. If you already have that then it’s 2 more days.

You’re not in a guild OP? I guess not if you don’t know anyone. Idk. You could ask a forum poster who you think is honest to send it for you or you could ask some random person in game. Obviously either method has its flaws.

If you want a forum poster to do it, you can check their posting history to get an idea of what sort of person they are. I also will do it for you if you want.

Sorry to hear about your name change issue, I too recently have had the same problem.

Precedents have been set, that any name -even if the name itself means something totally harmless- appears in popular culture in a setting that could in any way be considered rude, will be banned.

For instance my own problem was a name got banned because it was a weapon, that was used in a southpark episode. I’m not kidding.

There is no appeals process. You can open a support ticket. They admit that almost NO names are reinstated.

Also- most importantly. When you change your character name, the admins will check your account 24 hrs later. THEY CONSIDER YOU GUILTY UNTILL PROVEN INNOCENT. The level of scrutiny they consider is to the point where they will actually go out of their way to actively SEARCH for a meaning in even the most harmless name.

You chose bad names. You were blocked and required to rename. Less than four days later, you chose several more bad names and were suspended again.

The game needs something like this. A skin remover or a wardrobe system. Personally I hope they put in a wardrobe system. Look at all the backpack skins we are getting for example. I have 8 characters to choose from but even so, it’s getting hard to find one that doesn’t already have a backpack I like on it. A few more updates and there will be none without one. Then what? Skip the awards? Put it in the bank for some other alt in the future? Buy another backpack to put it on then have one character keep it in their inventory to switch between? It’s minor enough if you are like me and get the karma backpieces. It’s a whole other ball game for people with ascended pieces.

While I was personally pleased to get 500 extra free points, I don’t see the logic behind it. It was a separate game from this one. I already got my achievement points, exclusive armor and weapon skins, mini pets, ranger pets and titles. Why the need to suddenly give me 500 more points?

The only thing I can think of is that it’s part of a restructuring to reward certain area more points for work done, such as PvP and WvW. In that case though, why not do it as one patch instead of annoying people who didn’t play Guild Wars 1.

And no, it is not realistic to tell Guild Wars 2 players to buy and play Guild Wars 1 in order to get these points. They were hard enough to get when there were lots of other players. Getting the points now would be much harder, for example, when you can’t buy minis, alcohol and sweets from other players as easily because they are no longer there. Much less the number of people available for groups is gone too.

Here the armors of my mesmer. I like each of them more than any of my GW2 human armors.

One nice thing about profession specific armor is you could get a theme for it. When they added all the other races I guess it got to be too much work. However if they could only add more sleek, classy armor like Guild Wars 1 armor. For some reason however, they seem almost afraid to make armor that doesn’t have a skirt, long coat or buttcape attached.

They could still put in a HM. Make it a harsh downleveling option. Unless there are increased rewards for doing so, how many would play in HM though?

Well, I’m making a more accurate mapping than you: the parents never said the child could get one car for each good grade, but rather one car for the first good grade, another car for the second good grade and a puppet for the third good grade. But the child becomes temperamental because he wants three cars for his three good grades.

And this is exactly what it’s like. They said there would be rewards and you can select from what is offered in each chest. Just play the game more and more chests will unlock that have what you want. Major entitlement issues here.

Its a grey item, junk. You sell them to any merchant, including completed heart NPCs. When you talk to a merch, at the bottom is ‘sell junk’. That sells all hooves, broken lockpicks and other gray items.

They aren’t salvageable. What you can salvage is armor, weapons and anything labelled salvage.

To answer your question OP, my guess is no. They have had full servers at least once already and maybe twice. They had to up the servers population caps fairly recently and many are very high again. The problem is that so many people are in the noob areas doing dailies, dungeons and WvW that the non noob areas have few people playing.

They need underflow servers.

If you are talking about how they mess up vanity backpieces then yep, I agree. I tried one on my engie and seeing the backpiece appear, disappear, reappear but sticking out through the the engie hobo sack was enough to make me remove it.

I’m debating about getting one of the new vanity back pieces from the Bazzaar of the Four Winds living story and holding it in hopes they give us a toggle to turn the hobo sacks off.

You level so fast in this game an additional level is not that big a deal. If you want fast leveling do the events in the starter areas. The champs in Queensdale start one after another and the events in the noob1-5 level Norn area are back to back. I finished off my level 78 thief fast with starter area events. Or craft, you get levels fast there also.

The Zhaitaffy increases can’t be said to be related to Dulfy as that could just be speculation due to the event ending. But the material rises are purely because of Dulfy’s upcoming conversion info.

Ztaffy has 0 market value. It can’t be sold except on the TP. Logic dictates that contrary to normal behavior it’s price should fall near the end of the event because it would be useless once the event has concluded. However from the Dulfy guide we now know there will be further usus for taffy.

Didn’t they say the Zhaitaffy vender would be left in place? If so, the people will still be buying the food or getting the wings.

Some servers do seem busier than others and some zones are busier. Be sure to check the human zones if you haven’t already. Many people go there to do the daily. Also try guesting to different servers before you pay for a permanent switch.

I’ve seen either this guy or a similar one in the Henge of Denravi server advertising quick leveling. People were calling him out as a scammer but I guess people need to screenshot chat and report also.

ANet needs a place you can type in a short description when you report someone for something that doesn’t fit their regular report system.

Miniatures are just a fun little item to have. But miniatures need their own place in the collection tab so they don’t take up bank space.

They do have their own place in the collections tab. Every time they release a new mini they add a new space for it.

I’m hoping they add more giants at some time. I’ve either maxed or close to maxing all the others. I think I have maybe 15 giants.

The birthday minis were a big deal in Guild Wars 1 as that was the main way to for the average person to get one. Now, at almost one year, I already have numerous minis. Each of my 8 characters has one and I have many others in my bank. While birthday minis will be nice, since they are already common they won’t have the excitement of the Guild Wars 1 minis.

Now if they bought make some of the old minis from Guild Wars 1, especially the Celestial minis such as the Celestial Dragon, now that would be very nice. (you reading this ANet? Hint Hint ^^)
