The one labelled something like return to the mists is bugged for me as well. I completed all the intro stuff, but the hint will not show completion.
Just a thought, did you then go through the portal to the PvP lobby? Leaving the PvP training area? I would try that then go thru the LA portal. Then go back to the mists.
You might try the suggestions forum. This is the forum for people with lost passwords, suspended/banned accounts and other similar problems.
+1, I agree.
That being said, when I unwrapped my armour skin this morning, it did actually say “this armour type is unusable by your profession”, so it looks to me like the gloves don’t just LOOK heavy, they ARE heavy armour only. So you would’t be able to use them on your elementalist/ranger even if you wanted.
That being said, I didn’t try it. So I don’t know whether it is possible to apply this heady armour skin to a medium or light pair of gloves despite the warning.
The skin you get off the hero panel can be applied to any type of armor. I applied it to all three types to check. (And promptly put my HoM skins back on to the medium and light gloves).
Thanks for the clarification!
Then the message on the item is wrong.
Idk. The ones I used, I pulled off the reward achievement panel. It sounds like the one you are talking about is the one from the chest. Maybe they are different.

Yes, definitely. In fact, one of the points that worry me a bit is that i might decide on one kind of gauntlets, shoulderpads and helmets, only to see that the later parts (once they are done) are better in the other version.
Imo, they should either unlock both (instead of having us to choose), or allow some way for going for the alternate set later on. Token would not solve that problem, but at least would delay that decision until it can be a bit more informed.
Wiki now has a list of rewards going up to 24,500 points and you can get the alternative set later. Maybe much later but it’s there.

Can you transmute Krytan, Primeval, and Profane armor skins more than once?
Posted by: Astral Projections.7320
Ok what i want to know is how to Transmute them cuz i bought it and ever since ive been trying to do it with several armors and still i don’t get to make it work T_T
From your post I’m assuming you bought a Krytan armor set from the gem store and you can’t get them to work. First, they are skins so the first time you don’t use the transmutation stones. You click on them so that a panel appears and then you select the correct piece of armor and drag it over to the panel. Second, it requires medium armor. Light and heavy will not work.
If this isn’t what your problem is, then I will need more details.
I’ve read those threads. Basically they boil down to:
Guild Wars 1 players got an extra chest for playing a different game and I didn’t.
Maybe, just maybe, that’s not fair to people earning achievement points in this game for rewards in this game.
I deserve those 500 extra points (and really I should have gotten 1000 points)

I haven’t done it anytime recently but a guildie and I explored down there sometime after launch. We jumped out one of the windows. You have to try several times till you find a spot to jump from where you don’t hit a ledge and die before you hit the ground. If you don’t mind wasting revive orbs you can just revive there with one and jump again. Then one of us used a revive orb and revived the other. We were then able to run around down there and explore for several minutes before we were teleported to the jail. So, they’ve always had the ‘transport to jail’ feature.

After you finish the tutorial then you roam around and explore. The structure of this game is intentionally loose. There are hearts to do to give a bit of structure but they aren’t the meat of the game. That is the DEs, the dynamic events. Those will pop up around you. Some you can trigger and some are internally triggered by the game.
Different areas in a zone will have different levels. For example the starter zone is 1 to 15. So where you start out is suitable for you and the far end of the zone is for when you reach level 15. Mouse over the hearts to see what the area level is.
Get harvesting tools and salvage kits as soon as you can. Merchants may sell them for money and heart people may sell them for karma. Heart guys will also sell armor, trinkets and weapons for karma. You can keep the mats you harvest for later use or sell them in the trading post for money.
You don’t have to stay in your starter zone. You can visit any starter zone and play there. Then you can play in any level appropriate zone. To get to another zone, go to LA (Lion’s Arch).
Getting to LA
To go to LA, you look at your UI. Crossed swords will be on the top left. Click on that. Select go to the mists. This will take you to the PvP training area the first time you do it and the PvP lobby afterwards. From the PvP training area, head north to a broken looking staircase. Go up. There’s a portal up there. Go through. This will take you to the PvP lobby where you will arrive each time you go to the mists from now on. Go thru the portal directly in front of you. That will get you to LA. You will arrive right by the portals to WvW.
From there you can look at your map and see the central hub (5 pink swirls near each other on the map). Those are the portals to all the starting cities, including your own. There are other, single portals on the map but they lead to other places. From there, each city has other portals. One of which will be that areas starting zone. You can ask in map chat for someone to ping the nearest waypoint to that portal if you are having trouble finding it.

8 level 80s
Sylvari ranger- Dewey Killem
Norn warrior – Slayer of Insects
Sylvari thief – Oops Did I Shoot U
Asura guardian – Resistance Is Fatal
Human engineer – Curl Up And Die
Sylvari Necromancer – Slythy Toves
Charr elementalist – Sandy Claws
Sylvari mesmer – Astral Projections
It took me months to get then all to 80 and then full exotics but I’m glad I did it. Every day I play a different profession to do my daily and if my guild wants to do a dungeon and wants a particular profession, no problem. I’ve got it. I don’t have the complaint, ’I’m so tired of using the same set of weapon skills since launch’ because every day I use a new set.
Lol. Yes. That sums up this argument quite nicely.
It kind of depends. If you actually selected the wrong one, you will probably just need to get the achievement points to get the next one. If, however you selected one and got another because of a bug then send in a bug report and see if they can fix it.
You have to have a Guild Wars 1 account to link the 2 together. They are linked together to gain access to the rewards in the Hall of Monuments earned by playing Guild Wars 1.
If you yourself deleted the warrior then there is no way to get her back. It’s not a service they offer. If your account was hacked and characters deleted then you need to contact support at the top of this page.

What happens to unauthorized login attempt IP

Posted by: Astral Projections.7320
Astral, I think your confusing an IP with an IP range. An IP is usually assigned to a single computer while an IP range would be a group of computers. For example, say your ip address was 10.10.0.1, that would be the address assigned to your computer so if that address was banned, only you would be banned. If they where to ban the range, say 10.10.0.x, then it would ban all ips beginning with 10.10.0.1 thru 10.10.0.255. As others have said, ip banning is pretty useless as it’s very easy to change your IP with a few simple commands.
If I have an IP assigned to my computer, then why when they started the IP verification email did I have to verify that several were my address. And why were they various towns around me? The first verification was some town many miles away. I’m assuming because of this that they are using IP range rather than specific IPs since they kept changing to different IPs and to different sites around me.
Many ISPs reassign a new IP every time you reboot your computer. It’s a simple DHCP setting, do they give you a 24 hour lease, 48 hour, or reset on reconnect? Ip authentication using a range would be the absolute worst thing to do and no admin in their right mind would even consider it. As to different cities, it all depends on which of your ISPs servers you connect through at any given time. The location of the server would dictate where your location would be seen coming from as the server is actually what “owns” the IP, your just leasing it.
Ah. Kk. Thanks for the explanation.

I remember a blog, many many months ago, where ANet was talking about why they were requiring people to use unique passwords. What happens apparently is that people use the same passwords over and over again (not too unusual) and they use them at non secure sites. Hackers will break into these sites and gather the password and the emails attached to them. The ANet person said they could see hackers trying password after password gathered from these places, trying to get access to accounts. So to protect accounts, ANet blocked all the passwords they had on file and forced people to make new passwords.

Hey!
I realize I’m stealing someone’s precious time, but I’d just really like to know about this: this morning when I checked my e-mail I had four unauthorized login attempts from China. I realize someone has my password, and that I should change it, etc, but I was just wondering what happens to these IP’s: do they get banned?
I also received an e-mail from Facebook saying I was subscribed to a website called Guildwars2betakey, and that they now have a Facebook page and that they suggested I like that too. I don’t know if these two things are related, but it just seemed a little odd. There’s probably a bunch of these scams out there, I don’t know if Arenanet wants to know about them to actively shut it down, but just mentioning it just in case. (https://www.facebook.com/Guildwars2betakeygen)
Thanks!
I don’t think you can ban an IP because for one, the IPs are an area with many people in it. Also, when someone logs in, it isn’t the exact same IP each time.
I remember the first time I logged in and had an IP check. It said I was in some city miles away I had never heard of. If my IP was banned, would it ban everyone in it?
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
The part about shorter than real life days: many people can only log on at night after they finish work, eat dinner, talk to their families, do housework, etc… Other people can’t play at night, only during the day. So if the day was 24 hours then they would be playing only game night time or day time day after day. Most people want to see the game in both night and day, not just one. In addition, some events (not many I grant you) occur only in the day or night so they would miss these.
What do you expect your message to him to do for you? He is not likely to rename his character. He has likely had that name for months now. Getting an email from someone who is just now making a character and is claiming that he took your name, the name he has been using for up to 10 months, he will just think you sound really strange.
They probably use the same system as Guild Wars 1 where the game takes periodic ‘snapshots’ of all the accounts. Then any rollbacks are to the nearest snapshot before the hack. Which means its possible you won’t get all of your items back.
Guild Wars 1 system: https://forum.guildwars.com/forum/forums/accounts/Guild-Wars-Account-Restorations
“For a Guild Wars game account hacked after October 1, 2011, the Support Team’s new tools will provide the team with the ability to restore many hacked accounts to their pre-hack status. Restorations will be accomplished through the use of a periodic, archived “snapshot” process that will record and store full account details for each Guild Wars account. This means that while the account may not be restored to its status at the exact hour preceding the hack, it can be restored to within a few hours or days of such an event”.
But at least you will get most of your items back as well as any characters the hackers deleted.
Remember, the chest are allocated each day at reset, which is 5pm PDT or 00:00 UTC.
Yah, minor detail. I forgot to mention that. ^^
it’s technically not out of bounds. there is a path you can take to get there. you can swim right up to them easily enough. it’s not like you’re glitching to get out of the map.
The part I saw was open water. How did you find a path in open water? Did you just swim along the boundary until you found a hole in it?
The zenith skin reward is in the third day’s chest. You get one chest a day until you reach the max achievement points you have.
https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/85573/Achievements.jpg
From your post it sounds like you have only opened 2 chests.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Maybe Crip Tonix?
I would be curious to know if OP can still get there.
You get to jail if you are glitching down below rata sum but its little buggy sometimes.
Me and a guildie explored down there. She used a revive orb then rez’d me. It was kind of interesting. Like the area outside the HoM, it’s unfinished. After about 5 minutes or so we got sent to jail.
I tried to get there and couldn’t. I could see the jellyfish but was pushed back.
One reason is, people who are in the same in map are not from the same real world time zone. For example, a couple of guildies are from the opposite side of the world from me, about 11 hours. So when it’s noon for me it’s 11pm for them. If we are both in a map together, is the map supposed to be day or night?
The last ones are just so very expensive that the people who have them are not going to loan them to strangers. The risk of losing them is too high. For someone to loan you these, you would need to put up a equivalent value as collateral. You first send them enough gold to cover the loss if it turned out you weren’t honest. Then after you got the title, you would return the minis and trust they would send you the several hundred gold back.
I expect you can see the problems here. Trusting strangers when there is no legal system, no police, is difficult. ANet has already said that all trades need to be through the trading post and that trading with another player is unsupported. If a player gets scammed, sure they can report. But even if the other player gets banned they will not get their money or items back.
Your best bet is to build up the necessary cash, buy the needed items and then sell the minis to get your money back. Or if you have a trusted friend, make a deal that they get half of the ones needed and you get the other half. You trade with each other to get the title.
That’s one of the new Zenith weapons you can get if you have enough achievement points. You get skins that you can apply to your weapons.

Imo, it would make more sense for the people who have underwater Legendaries to be able to equip and wear while on land. It would be something most people would only do in town as I assume you wouldn’t have access to your weapon skills but it would let them show it off and have the footprints and other special effects.
Maybe another swap weapon button that brings out the underwater weapons.

Oh for goodness sakes. You got free stuff.
Ok. If we are going to complain when people give us free stuff then this is my version:
OMG ANET YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN I NEVER PVP!!!!!!!!
How dare you give me PvP stuff. I don’t care that’ its free or that maybe one day I might do PvP. I don’t PvP now and you should know this! This makes me very angry! And how dare you make a special PvP locker for me and not email me about the details. What am I supposed to do? Play the game and find out for myself? NO! That’s unreasonable!
Yah. They should look at all our accounts and know exactly what characters we have AND whether we PvP or not. Anything else is completely unacceptable.
/sarcasm
There are the sewers……
Whichever of my 8 toons I am playing is the one that’s my favorite.
In guild wars 1 I used the costume system to constantly change my outfits. I would wear one for a while then switch to another. In this game, where the endgame is about cosmetics, I haven’t switched my looks for months. Each toon is wearing whatever I settled on when it reached level 80 and none have changed since then. No doubt I could switch easily enough on the skins with the lower level armors but if I want to regain the look of the level 80 exotic armor I would have to buy or craft it again and that would be very expensive. Since I don’t want to do that, that means I never change my looks and it’s a bit boring. Especially when the previous game was so flexible. It baffles me why they made such a rigid system.
Right now all I have left is shell at 900 something, ogres at 800 something and giants at 15. There seems to be a slight imbalance in the numbers. I foresee giant spawn camping in my future.
I don’t even remember where the Norn home instance is and only vaguely remember the Sylvari and Asuran. I’m know I went to all but that was almost a year ago and no reason to go back after area completion was done.

1 thing I want to see so badly in the gemstore: race change. That is all.
Not sure what you mean by a gold sink. A gold sink means money is exiting the game. What money is leaving the game and from what?
The money we trade for gems so we can buy bank tabs and transmutation gems.
About the race change, that’s one of the few things that the devs said that it is really not happening.
If they made a wardrobe system that required a gem store item to ‘attach’ the skin to the wardrobe, then they would be selling those as well as transmutation stones and bank tabs.
Edit: the money that we trade for gems is not a pure gold sink. The majority goes to the players who are selling the gems for gold.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
That’s the thing though this is one of the first things that you were “promised” and not given…been happening to us since release…the devs put the achievement there with the intent of what’s going on, you can get the meta without that kite, ever think maybe some WvWers who don’t really like PVE who like a kite too in our realm? Also most of your things are easily avoidable that you consider promises…lastly just because its living story doesn’t make it solely PVE they can make it what they want and guess what? They decided to throw in 1 tiny little WvW achievement
Sooo if you got lied to a lot and we got lied to a little, it’s the PvEers problem and not both of ours?
Don’t even get me or any of the other PVPers started on the things we’ve been promised or wanted since the game came out and have gotten nothing, or has taken months to fix HUGE issues example: culling, so sorry if we don’t really feel sympathy for any of you, deal with it, find a way around, or nut up and kill them. If not you don’t deserve the achievement…lastly if you go to WvW discussion Devon(WvW head) says that they put it their with the intent of it being somewhat challenging and the intent of people killing each other
You are mad because you didn’t get what you were promised. We are mad because we aren’t getting what we were promised. Maybe you should think about that instead of blaming PvEers for their troubles in getting this achievement. Maybe you should be mad at the people who broke their promises to us.
The thing is, this game was specifically advertised and sold on the promise to PvE players that this was a game based on cooperation. No griefing would be allowed. In PvE every time someone tries to grief others, that is removed.
As an example, while the game was in beta, Mesmer portals would transport people if they went on the portal or if the portal was placed on them. You didn’t have to hit the F key to use it. Mesmers were using the portal to block the exit from Hoelbrak to the noob area. The new people would run up to the Asuran portal, hit a Mesmer portal and be ported away. I saw a couple of Mesmers who were amusing themselves by doing this. They were also targeting people who were af’k and porting them around. In response ANet made it so you had to agree to be ported.
In PvE ANet makes every effort to stop griefing and that’s what PvE players expect.
Now, all of a sudden. PvE players who want to continue the Living Story (which is PvE, not PvP) achievements are told to go to an area where other players are deliberately stopping them from getting the achievement. To them, it feels like ANet has broken their promise of cooperation and no griefing for PvEers. Yes, I know this is a PvP area and PvP happens in a PvP area. That’s not the point. The point is if you are a PvEer, doing PvE content (which was promised and advertised as no griefing) it shouldn’t be in an area that accepts griefing as a normal game play.
I think these are probably teasers. To get people interested in them and to start buying from the gem store.
Like how a store will hand out small samples of something in hopes people will try it, like it, then buy for real.

Maybe it is because it references a real group of people/country and that’s not allowed?
