I wouldn’t worry about saving karma to much. It comes fast at level 80 plus you have the jugs of karma. I spent my warrior down below 4k karma and a few days later she had 16k, and she isn’t even my main. I just farm in Orr occasionally with her.

You can check out your server’s WvW. There is a merchant there who sell karma armor at whatever level you are. It’s pretty ugly but it’s essentially free. :-) Its in the same area where you spawn in your borderland iirc.

I don’t do PvP or WvW so I didn’t think of that, but good point. So, you tried it in PvP/WvW and it didn’t work out?

I’ve tried it. It’s a lot more useful for some professions and some weapons than others, example Thief with shortbow.

My main problem with it you have to keep turning it on and off. Every time you want to talk in chat or click on an icon on the UI, such as when you complete an event and you get a gold, you have to turn it off. (Not the same as exiting the program) Then you have to turn it back on again. When I use it I have the on/off tied to a key, but it’s still clunky.

Other than that it makes combat fast and intuitive, especially for AOE spells.

What is available for light and medium armor though? What I would like is minimalist armor for all Charr professions. Variations on: loin cloth, chest straps, ankle and wrist bands.

100% of open maps then as dungeons and sPvP maps are instanced.

WvW could be considered instanced since you leave the map when you log out, just like an instanced area.

They don’t normally allow account name changes but they should make an exception in this type of situation. Good luck.

Hmmm sounds like a bug of some type. If it was me I would contact support by updating the original ticket. Have them send me another link to the change password. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

I’ve had to change my password before and had the link they sent me not work. The second one did.

In Guild Wars 1 you could change your looks up by wearing costumes over the armor, wearing other armor or by even by using tonics, which only changed your looks and not your skill bar. Most armor was cheap and you could use perfect salvage kits to transfer stats from one to the other.

I was constantly changing the way I looked there. Here, a game about cosmetics, I am locked into one look and it feels stifling.

They nerfed potion of ascalonian mages? sigh We used that occasionally just for the lulz. Running around as a group of ghosts in PvE was mildly amusing. And they removed that? Annoying.

At least in Guild Wars 1 you could earn a wearable title if you used enough tonics. The only reason I don’t delete the ones I have now is just in case they bring that back.

They forced password changes because people were using passwords they had used on other sites and were being hacked.

There was one blog talking about it and how they could see hackers trying to break into accounts, attempting to get into them by using old passwords those people had used on other sites. So what they did us ban all the current passwords and force everyone to make new ones.

With the security measures they have, one of which was the password change, very few people are getting hacked.

Try reporting it as a bug ingame with a snapshot of guild chat and your blocked players list showing.

no, but NPCs you need to talk to can get stuck under the floor and stuff making you unable to even start a quest.

But in Skyrim, you can use console commands to reset those NPCs. You can’t do that here. Here, you have to wait for Mitch, in the tech department, to finish his refresher class on coding and debugging.

I never said that. If anything, I implied that Mitch needs to get off his kitten and fix the bugs in this game before I start making websites to tell people to stay away from GW2 as it is unplayable.

You are talking about one bugged thing in a game full of thousands of events, hearts, skill points…. and this ONE thing makes the game unplayable?

Your threats to start making websites telling people the game is unplayable because of one TEMPORARILY bugged thing does not make you sound adult or rational.

Just out of curiosity OP. Lets say that ANet says you were hacked, gives you a rollback, maybe even gives you proof that you were hacked. Will you put a post on this thread acknowledging you were wrong? Or will you just maintain a discrete silence and continue playing?

One thing that might help is to get the actual physical proof you have at your father’s house. When you contact support, you can attach photos of these to prove ownership.

Making money at that level is very hard if you don’t play the trading post, which I don’t.
My way of making money is pretty low tech. :-) What I did was harvest every node I saw and farmed mats. Look up the highest level mats you can farm, check their prices on the trading post and see what drops it and where they are. Farm for these mats and sell on the trading post. Also whenever I got a piece of gear as a drop, I always check against the trading post price before I vender it. At your level, the amount of money that comes in isn’t amazing but it’s steady.

There are another new thread on this subject in Players Helping Players forum, started yesterday. It may have broken within the last few days. This is not something that is consistently broken though it does have a history of breaking periodically. It’s usually fixed fairly fast. I assume you have already sent in a bug report, so with you and everyone else reporting they know about it and should be fixed soon.

Your Guild Wars 1 and your Guild Wars 2 login are the same. If you can log into Guild Wars 2, then use that. If you still can’t then you will need to contact support.

So there isn’t the remotest chance of “the evil roommate” or “the evil younger brother” type situation? Where do you keep your account information, especially your serial number? Was there no way a friend of a friend or a friend of your brother or sister visited and got it by going through your stuff when you weren’t around? Because from what they are saying it looks like someone else got hold of that information and is now trying to get access to the game.

It may be bugged now but it hasn’t been continuously bugged. I’ve done it several times on several toons. I think I’ve encountered it bugged a couple of times but it works the next time I go there. (Henge of Denavi server, don’t know if it’s currently bugged there or not)

Moderators only handle forum matters not game matters so they can’t help you. and I don’t think admin will say anything different from what has already been said. My guess is it boils down to these choices, watch the population size and get it when it drops to very high, see if your friends are willing to delete their characters so they can join you or make a character in a server and guest in their server. You will not be able to do WvW there but you can do everything else.

The population is bound to drop sometime. They just released a new dungeon so more people than usual are logged on. The new dungeon will be gone on the 12th but people will tire of it before then. Good luck.

My guess is it has to do with the weapon switching. The skill sets switch as one fixed block and they are blocks of 5, 3 or 2. So if you are using a two handed weapon for example, you can’t switch the 3rd skill to the 5th skill because they belong to 2 separate blocks. Since the blocks are designed as a fixed set, it may not be easy to remake them into a “loose” set. The whole weapon skill bar would have to be reworked. This may be possible but they have many other things to work on and fix. Even if they did consider it a problem it is likely to be a low priority one for them.

If your friend has a new account, couldn’t he delete his toons and transfer to your server or both of you transfer to a server that isn’t full?

My opinion is that they will be in the BL chests until April 12th. The vender for the tokens will be there a while longer and then also removed, just like they did for the Christmas weapon skins vender.

Don’t worry though, other skins will be put in BL chests later for people to spend money for a (rare) chance to get.

The automatic forum disconnects that seem to occur at various points in the day are driving me insane.
I don’t know why they exist, or even if they’re intentional, but many times now I’ve written up a long post only to be disconnected while writing it out, and lost the whole thing when I attempted to post it.
At least a few times a week the disconnect manages to occur right in the middle of trying to post something.

I seriously do not think I’ve ever used a site before that arbitrarily and frequently purged your connection, regardless of your activity on the site.

Forum disconnects? Are you talking about where it makes you log back in? I’ve noticed that happens roughly twice a day, about 12am and 12pm Pacific Time, give or take an hour. I just assumed the forums have a twice a day log in.

I got 3 tickets out of 83 chests. Generally, you can get a reasonable idea of rates by ignoring the extreme claims and the smaller sample sizes. Liars will lie, exaggerators will exaggerate, but they mostly stick to the extremes for dramatic effect. (Edit: not calling anyone here a liar; just making an observation.)

You can get a reasonable idea of rates by ignoring extreme claims. However that does not mean those people are lying. Do you know what the Bell Curve is and what it means?
While most people are going to be somewhere in the middle, some are going to be at either extreme, either getting a ticket with one try or getting none even after 100 tries. Just because you were one of the people in the middle of the Bell Curve does not mean that the people at the extremes don’t exist.

The population of the servers fluculates over the course of the day. Try in the middle of the night (their time) when the population has dropped. It should drop from full to very high and you should be able to get in.

While I loved my mercenaries in Guild Wars 1, I can see the objections to having them in this game. The Devs want people to rely on each other when they need help. They want people helping each other out at skill points, group events, etc… by getting guildies to help them or by calling out in map chat. If people are instead relying on gem store purchased NPCs rather than each other, it effects the community the Devs hope the game builds. So, reluctantly, I also have to disagree with the idea.

Opened around 60 or so chests, 0 tickets. Really, we need a system similar to Halloween where some of us with no luck can trade in all our boosters and unknown potions for at least one drop. Thankfully I didn’t spend much cash trying, but this really turns me off buying gems through either gold or real money ever again.

And Heaven forbid that you should want a matched set, such as 2 pistols or 2 daggers.

Ow. Oh well, everyone makes misakes. :-) Well, with the money you got from the sale of the second Dawn (you did get that money right?) you should be able to buy another or cancel the sale of the second one if it hasn’t gone through.

Since is been over 3 days, you might try posting in the Account Issues forum. Be sure and include your ticket number. A staff member, Gaile Gray, reads those forums and resolves issues. She can either get it fixed or tell you why not.

Hmmm. I suspect you are out of luck since you deleted them. They don’t replace items deleted, salvaged or sold by accident. You can make a ticket and contact support, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up if it was me. Sorry.

I think they are level based. As long as they are at least that level you can. Check where it says the level on the runes.

I hope it turns out to be a mistake an ANet’s part, but anyone can get tempted by the money the gold sellers offer and have a lapse in judgement. Especially if he is grinding out what is needed for something like a Legendary which requires so much. The gold sellers send out those ingame emails with such a nice money for gold rate. :-/ A friend of mine, who is normally very moral, got banned from another game by getting caught up in an exploit. She knew at the time it was wrong but it was just too tempting. Even moral people can make foolish decisions. Good luck and if it doesn’t work out I hope y’all find a game you both like.

And finally, people have listed numerous reasons that the chat filter is off besides “I like to report people”. I only just realized yesterday that mine has been off all along, and I don’t recall ever turning it off.

They don’t give warnings because they tried that and found it doesn’t work. The TOS is considered your warning that using profanity in any game chat can result in a suspension. They don’t care which chat it was in.

I think there are threads already in the necro, ranger, engineer and Mesmer sections on this. :-) You might try looking there for a thread to join where there is an ongoing discussion.

I agree though. All pets need this. It’s not just a necro profession problem.

?? I thought you said you sent in a ticket to support. It will probably take a good 24 hours before you get a reply from them, then you will need to do an account rollback which will take a few days longer. It might be best not to play during this time if you want a rollback. It’s possible to do something to screw it up and you lose all progress anyway.

Yeah, when they are gone they are gone. They won’t replace them if its a user mistake. It’s bad for the person involved but if they did they would be constantly researching and replacing items that people accidentally delete in some manner. Those are my favorite minis also. Maybe one day they will take off the account bound status and she can get them on the trading post. :-)

Not a computer person, but why wasn’t right click and the movement keys tied together? Or at least given an option to do so. If you press w for example, right click is automatically activated. Same for all the movement keys. That way you could used the movement keys and point the mouse without holding down right click.

I could see it clearing guild chat if you change to a character that doesn’t represent, but why lose it otherwise. It obviously can keep chat in memory since whispers stay there.

Please keep guild chat when changing characters.

Geeez. Yes please do this. So annoying to try to loot something and end up talking to or rezzing an NPC. In fast combat I loot while fighting. It gets automatic to hit the button when you it come up on your screen. Rezzing others by accident in the middle of a fight can get you killed. Its annoying to have the NPC chat panel cover your screen as well as accidentally picking up environmental weapons or harvesting

I don’t think you need the serial number. You download the client and then log on. You only need the serial number when talking to support about account issues.

I’ve downloaded Guild Wars 1 onto various computers and Guild Wars 2 onto 2 (during beta). Never needed the serial number. However you might contact support and see if you can get it in case you ever have problems in the future.
