Probably because Ranger pets don’t die. They just go into a defeated state. If they can’t be killed, then you can’t rally off them.
Its just a uncommon drop. The drops do seem to improve if you party up with others, but even so one or two an hour is pretty much par for the course.
Good luck in game. And I hope you find out why the two of you are having multiple bannings then unbannings. :-)

Might not hurt to change the email also.
In your personal story, you die and Logan lives and finishes for you while you lie there.
I like the idea. If they aren’t going to drop at least an area level green then they should drop fine area level mats.
I can see how they would be hard to balance the work vs. reward part. To high a reward and you will have people camping the spawn points. Too low (like now) and people avoid them. Instead of dropping one item they should drop around 3. Either fine mats, greens or a mixture. The reward needs to be high enough that people are willing to tackle them but not so high that people camp them .
It is a little strange. Don’t they know when a build is coming out?
A bunch of us were doing the Jormag event and got the warning of I or 2 hours. No problem, lots of time. Got the dragon down to a sliver of health then new warning, “new build in 3 minutes”. (We got it done but darn, it was close. About 30 seconds to grab chest then booted).
They will probably keep the vender out for a while, like they did for the Christmas weapons vender. If I had a ticket though I wouldn’t keep it past the 12th. Be way too annoying to log on and find the vender gone.
They limit emails on new accounts because of gold sellers. They would make a new account, send sold gold to people thru email, get banned eventually, make new account….
Do you have a guild bank? If you do, put the stuff in there and let the other person remove it.
Edit: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/arenanet-tracker/topic/236203-account-transfer-limit-mail-issue/
It seems the accounts aren’t limited by age but by achievements. Again, because of gold sellers who would otherwise just wait till the account reached the cutoff age to start using it.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
It’s horrible RNG.
A friend, who wasn’t even trying, got one key from an area completion and got a ticket. I have done multiple key runs, got ~40 keys so far (stopped counting around 35) and nope, no ticket. And one time I calculated that if I had paid actual cash for keys, it would have cost me about $50. if i had used gold it would have cost me all the ingame money that I have.
I have no problem paying money for what I want. When it’s paying money for a chance to get what I want, then that’s a problem (especially a low chance).
If you are looking for mostly damage dealer, maybe you can try thief. A bit fragile but pretty good damage.
They do that tiered thing on a bunch of titles/tasks in the hero panel. The slayer and weapon master achievements are broken down into tiers also for example. I guess it’s so that people can get rewarded for progressing but it can be a bit confusing for people who don’t realize it’s tiered and see the endpoint keep moving.
Maybe a better way would have been to have one bar with marks along the way, where you get achievement points for reaching a mark.
As the suggestion is is perfectly ok by me as long as it is a recurring charge and higher then proposed.
In GW1 there was a (permanent and free) hero system that in my personal opinion ruined the mmo-aspect of the game. Heroes where free to use, almost as equal to the real players and could do almost anything. I dont want that back in GW2.My suggestion would be to make it timed and a tp item. 100 gems for a kit that lasts 1 hour. you can choose from 8 different kits (e.g. a necromancer kit, an ele kit, an warrior kit, etc).
The kit let’s you summon a companion npc for 60 minutes wich replaces one partymember. the companion is stowed manually by the owner or when the owner maps to a different place. If the companion has been out for e.g. 12 minutes, the kit will still be usuable but for max 48 minutes.
This sounds a lot like the summoning stones in Guild Wars 1. You could summon not only animals but different professions.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Summoning_stones
A system like this might be useful for soloers who need some extra help.
The first thing you need to do is edit the post and put in a ticket number. No one can help you without it.
They must have some reason to talk about account sharing rather than hacking. It sounds like someone has the account information and is claiming ownership. You should discuss this with your friend and see if he has any idea what they are talking about. If its been over 72 hours since the last time support contacted him, then you might try posting in the sticked red thread, Tickets for Review (3 days and older).

GW1 has been pretty much a single-player experience for the past few years. Since GW2’s release not many people are playing it anymore, and the few that still do go in full Hero parties (heroes = NPCs).
Still, GW1 is a pretty decent single-player experience, but it’s nothing like GW2, and I’d strongly advice to not set your expectations too high if you try it out. It’s more of a strategy game than an action game or RPG. You either like it or hate it.
Agreed. It’s nothing like Guild Wars 2. The only thing they have in common really is the lore. Even the landscape has changed dramatically.
You can try it and may like it, but go in as if the two games were completely unrelated.
……instead of pointless vulgar stuff only a 5 year old would find funny?
Tell that to the GW2 staff that came up with Poobadoo – surely pointless vulgar stuff only 5 years find that funny too?
And according to their own naming policy: “Make inappropriate references to human anatomy or bodily functions”
Poo and doo = references to bodily functions.
Double standards anyone?
Is also much more likely that that didn’t register on whoever named him. The first time you brought this up (and you have brought it up several times in several threads) I had to think about it. Read it as being pronounced as, Poob Adoo.
You have to realize that they were naming hundreds if not thousands of NPCs. It’s not astonishing that a name could be innocently made that might be marginal. It’s one of those names though, you have to be looking for offense to find offense.
Considering how Quaggan names have a lot of double O’s in their names and speech. It fits in with their naming convention. I doubt the namer gave it a lot of thought. The namer had a list of NPCs that needed a name. Got to this NPC, as yet unnamed. Convention for this Quaggan name says needs with double O’s, one was made up, on to the next name.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Don’t see how this would work. How would you get into the enemy forts?
They did say they were looking into rotating server colors. If they do that, that should fix a lot of people problems.
Afraid I can’t agree with you OP. Emotes and dances are exactly the sort of thing a gem store should sell. It’s fluff. After all what do you want them to sell, overpowered gear and utility skills?
P.S. ANet, I have money in my hot little hands right now. Put the necro dance from Guild Wars 1 in the cash shop and its alllll yours. Hint. Hint.
They do rarely drop. I think I have had two drop since the start of the game. They did drop a lot more during the beta weekends.
RNG is RNG.
I admit to being a little disappointed. I was expecting a name that was a more…… dirty, shall we say. It’s always amusing when someone posts a truly offensive name then tries to defend it and people explain why the OP has no common sense. Long Black Bob was at worse, marginal. A renaming at the most. A ban was excessive.
Considering how easy it is to accidentally clear your target via mouse clicks, being able to call a target when roaming solo would help a lot!
They should put it In game. The targets are highlighted but if they are in a group of others it can be hard to see them. There have been times when I’ve hit Next Target then had to stop and look around to see where it was. Especially since it targets along line of sight and you can get a Moa or whatever instead of what you wanted.
They should also put in an option for all red targets selected first then yellow. Or make yellow something you have to click on to target.
You got a ban and a name change for Long Black Bob? Ummmm, ok. I guess it was the Long Black part and a determination that no name be offensive. I guess the WvW commander on my server named Big Meaty Petey is going to get a forced name change sooner or later.
Some guy made a post a while back asking for dailies that include costume brawl. I commented that having a daily that required a gem shop purchase wasn’t a good idea. A few days later, they put it in the game. :/
I still think its a bad idea for a daily to require a gem shop purchase. I don’t see them removing it from the game, especially since people are fine with it. At a minimum though, they should make the tonics tradable.
The NPC who hands out free costumes is a nice idea. They had NPCs like that in Guild Wars 1 for the Costume Brawl mini game. However, since it would cut into their sales, I don’t see them putting it in game.
If you have a free character slot, you can try doing key runs. (Human, warrior, commoner) You get tonics frequently as a reward.
You can submit a ticket, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up if I was you. They said they can’t (or won’t) replace individual items that are accidentally lost by the players.
As a work around, party up with a guild member. They don’t have to be in the same map or even online to allow you to target things.
If you haven’t done so already, I would recommend changing both your account’s password and the email’s password it is associated with. Actually, both of you should do so, just in case someone else has access to your account.
Still, it seems odd that your accounts keep getting flagged for illegal use of bots and the like. While I am not saying you are doing such things, are you leaving your characters idle in areas which might not be such a good idea to do so, and stuff such as stripping their gear so in the event you get attacked, you don’t need to repair armor? I’m not sure if it’s only related to this game, but one of the first things any player will think of on seeing a naked character who is not at a diving location or in a city is a bot who’s been attacked one too many times.
However, even if a someone or many people report a character that doesn’t mean it will be banned. They say they look at each character reported individually and look at its behavior. They can tell if it’s running the same path for days, teleporting or gold trading. The puzzling thing is, if they can see what they are doing and they are not botting/gold trading/etc.. then why the multiple bans? One ban, a mistake, I can see. Lets say one of them gave a large amount of gold to the other. That could trigger a mistaken ban. But multiple bans? This could really use an investigation by staff. Either to fix a bug or to tell them what they are doing that’s triggering these bans.
And I agree on the password/email changes. However I would only do it one person at a time. If it messes up and both of you are locked out….
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
I have been using the name “Moobs” on gw for most (6 of
of my characters and because some people who disliked my guild and reported me for no reason, yesterday I was prompted to change all of the character names.
Characters were these: Mr Moobs, Andromooba, Xr Moobs, Moobs the Viscous, Hundred Moobs
If someone would have actually been offended I might accept this forced name change. However since in 6 months and literally not a single sole I’ve run with (I’m a commander and popular person in WvW) has ever been upset with name, I don’t think this is fair at all. Since I reported this as a Ticket and to no surprise, the reply was that they stuck by the decision (as always, I do read these forums). So I’m here ro ask you and hopefully gf a response by ANet, is there really anything offensive with this name? Keep in mind with what I said, NO ONE was EVER upset with this name.
The names are sort of marginal. Any company is going to be conservative in its decisions in this sort of thing. Once someone reports it and it appears to violate TOS, no matter how mildly, then it will be banned. It’s not like ANet knows whether the people are reporting it have a history with you or not. All they have are report(s) that say offensive name. Since the name violates TOS by referring to “sensitive” parts of human anatomy, that’s all it takes. And the names do violate TOS. Think of it like the law. Either it is broken or it is not. Either TOS is violated or it is not.
If you want a sample of what people get reported and banned for try this thread.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/yxx3m/suspensions_for_offensive_names_and_inappropriate/
Avoid the sort if things they did and you perfectly safe.
It’s actually pretty clear cut and simple
1) don’t cuss other people out or make offensive remarks in chat. You know what type of remarks. What you wouldn’t say in public if you have any common sense.
2) don’t make offensive names
3) don’t grief other players
What’s especially amusing about the thread is how many claim they are innocent, right until the Dev says why they were banned.
Those who duel in WvW probably don’t take up nearly as much space as the PVe’ers who neither want not care about WvW who are there just to get world completion. I promise you, more people who don’t care about WvW are out there trying to get world completion every day on every server than are trying to duel in WvW.
PvPers have an interesting mentality sometimes. Here we have some saying, no dueling. It takes up a slot in WvW that others want to use. But when a PvEer points out that to get maps 100% they are forced into a PvP area, that they don’t help in any way and take up a slot in WvW that others want to use, then it’s different. Then it’s you MUST explore WvW to get the title.
Well, if it’s not a big deal for PvEers to take up a wanted slot then it’s ok for duelers to do so.
They required everyone to get a new password to curb the number of hacked accounts. If you are having trouble making a new password, make a ticket and contact support.
https://en.support.guildwars2.com/ then go to ‘Ask a Question’
Support should be able to send you a change password link.

I saw this as well in the Bloodtide Coast map, guy just appeared at the node (which caught my attention because he didn’t run near me), cut the tree, then was gone before I could even click him.
Of course, I wouldn’t think to report it initially until the full behaviour was done. Then I remembered seeing this once before and reading another post about it. And by the time it strikes you as odd, they’re gone and you can’t remember the spelling of the name or which guild.
Not to mention, there are a lot of people who DO legitimately camp characters at resource nodes (so you could be reporting an innocent player, unless it’s in WvW).
Maybe an ori node, but I tend to be suspicious of the ones that harvest an onion plant then disappear.
You can be in up to 5 guilds at one time and you can be a leader in all of them. I have 2 bank guilds, which of course I am the leader of.
To create a new guild, just stop representing whatever guild you are a member of. You can then make a new one.
You get a forced name change if it’s mild enough. You get a forced name change and a 72 hour suspension if it’s severe. They don’t give warnings because people just argue with them about it, so the TOS is all the warning that is given.
Well, I must say I think something strange is happening but it seems a very well worded, concise ticket sets it right. I was given access back to the game VERY quickly (probably in less than seven hours) however I was asleep at the time. It was indeed, again for the 3rd time, an error: “After completing my review of this incident, I have concluded that your account does not fit all of the criteria for the violation that led to the block. I have reversed the action taken against this account and have noted the account accordingly.”
I have still not received an actual response as to if my network might be the culprit or if something fishy is going on. I am curious however if I don’t fit “all of the criteria” for a ban and every ban is reviewed by a person before it occurs, why has this happened, twice, in a 5 day span? I would really like an answer from some one. I am seriously freaking out – is it my internet? Is it where I am playing? Are they new trainees getting their feet wet? Put my mind at ease ArenaNet.
But all in all impeccably fast service, this time
Very strange, but glad you both are back in the game. I gather that Gaile Gray, who normally handles this forum, is on vacation. You might consider when she comes back, making a thread laying out what happened on what days. What was the reason for your bans and the reasons for unbanning. This sounds like something they need to look into, for training purposes or to fix a bug.
A male character dressed like a barbarian, isn’t placed in a sexual context. Please don’t generalize my statement, context means everything here.
rough barbarian men are considered to be sexy by females. Barbarians had full clothing. Their portrayal as almost naked is there only to please the female eye.
Not true. The half-naked barbarian brimming with muscle is a power fantasy for men, not a sexually objectifying fantasy for women. Though sometimes a scantily dressed strong woman can be a power fantasy for women, too…
Uhhh, as a woman, I consider a half-naked man brimming with muscle to be part of woman’s sex fantasy.
I disagree with OP in all points, but still think anet should remove WvW from world completion to end those daily tiring, atrocious entitlement whining threads finally. I mean that as sincerly as condescending, yes.
Thanks, we knew we could count on your support.
I mean that as sincerly as condescending, yes
You should be able to hit F and get a temporary dance. The option pops up on your screen. If you can’t hit F it’s because you are too far away from the site but close enough to get the message.

Can’t you just swear out loud and upset your dog? Why did you feel the need to type it out?
Does WoW do that? Does any game? If this is common I could see your request. If its not then there are probably technical or economic reasons not to.
If you really dislike that character/profession so much, why don’t you level a different one? It will take you, what? 3 to 4 weeks at most to get to level 80. If you are planning to play for a long time then that’s nothing. Why would you stick to a profession that bores you or you dislike the way they look?
And yes, I have 8 level 80s so I do know about the grind it takes to level one.
Hmm. This actually sounds interesting. It might require some work as normally utility skills only last a second or so and don’t repeat and you might want to dance for several minutes. Which would require repeating an animation sequence for an indefinite period of time.
Maybe 2 types of NPCs. One that is a simple vender and one that becomes a vender after an event chain is finished. It should be after a chain rather than just one event. One event would be too easy.
Keep up the good work. I use your sites frequently, the pictures are the best and the guides clear and helpful. :-)
@Astral Projections.7320
More arbitrary line drawing. Just because it’s pvp, why does that mean you shouldn’t have to do it for your gold star? If it’s just a “well, at least I know I did it” what does it matter if your achievement doesn’t say 100% completion. If you just want to do the PvE areas to 100%, then go do the PvE areas to 100%, no one can stop you. Would it make you happy if ANet split the achievement into two? Have a 100% PvE and a 100%PvP but still only gave the gold star if you had both achievements? Or are you really that desperate to be be handed a little gold star that only other people see?
Ok, what if you are on a server that is low ranking, barely controls its own borderlands and is locked to one color? How do you explore the whole of WvW then? I can solo all of the PvE maps one way or another but to get into all of WvW requires a strong server and that’s my objection to it. If I could get everything in WvW either solo or a small party, if all it took was some planning, patience and skill then it would be fine. What it actually requires is a lot of other people, following a zerg around to get what you need. It’s fine for me personally because I am in a strong server. But not everyone is.
WvW exploration for a non PvP person. Wait till you see a zerg going where you want to go, join it and hope it manages to get the fort or whatever open. Grab points. Go back to central wait spot. Wait for the next chance while tying up a slot for someone who actually wants to do WvW. Yeah, that was meaningful. :/
Edit: as to the question you specifically asked. Yes, split the titles. One title for PvE only with either a silver star or no star. Then make the Been There Done That title with the gold star for doing both. That would be fine. I would get the title for exploring Tyria and not be tying up a slot in WvW, leaching off the zergs. If I ever decided to try for the gold star and its title, then it would be because I wanted to do WvW and would be contributing.

I’m still angry that Queen Jennah and Logan Thackery don’t have matching quaggan backpacks!
ANet doesn’t allow them to buy gems as it is a conflict of interest.
Oh, okay. I see what you guys are saying. You guys don’t care about legendaries. You just want to know why you have to explore the whole map for map COMPLETION?
Hey guys, I just defeated 90% of a dungeon, can I please have the reward at the end without finishing it please? Hey guys, I’ve got 90% of the mats for my legendary, why doesn’t ANet just give me the rest?
I do want to explore the whole map, OF TYRIA. The mists are PvP. And don’t give me the argument that its PvE/PvP or not truly PvP. If its players killing players then its PvP. I don’t see any hearts in WvW or any events besides PvP events.
Map completion should be PvE only.
And yes, I am doing it. Started WvW a week ago and have 100%, on one and three 70plus
on the others. But that is because my server is doing well right now. If I was on a server that was locked to one color or is always bottom ranked, it would be a different story. A lot of people who got the title did it by “exploiting” the free transfers at the beginning of the game. How is that fair? They got it easy and now the rest of us have to do it the hard way.
It happaned to me as well the ban “Your Guild Wars 2 account has been terminated due to botting, extended unattended play, using macros, or similar behavior. Attempting to automate gameplay through any means or attempting to circumvent idle-time restrictions in any way is in violation of the User Agreement and Rules of Conduct. The account closure is permanent.” last 4hours also.I already sent the ticket to support n hope they might make some mistake as i did never use of that kind of cheating things.
“extended unattended play” “attempting to circumvent idle-time restrictions in any way is in violation…”
Sooo does that mean if you idle in some area, putting your heal on autocast to keep from being kicked out of game, you could get your account terminated? In Guild Wars 1 on special occasions such as Halloween while waiting for the Mad King’s appearance, I would let the computer run for hours while afk.
Could this conceivably be the cause of some mystery bannings? A lot of people do idle in LA, chatting or just letting their computer run while they are afk.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
I don’t even know what to say. There is something very strange/wrong going on here. Support needs to tell y’all what EXACTLY is getting y’all banned and fix it. Mutiple bannings and unbannings? Something is haywire here.
Old launcher back please, or replace Caithe with the dragon. The other launcher was simply better looking.
What if I am playing a ranger with sword/torch and axe/warhorn? Ranger with bow and greatsword? Necromancer with scepter/dagger and axe/focus? Guardian with hammer and greatsword? How would they fit that?
It’s a nice idea, but it doesn’t fit all weapon combinarions?

of my characters and because some people who disliked my guild and reported me for no reason, yesterday I was prompted to change all of the character names.
