After I posted, I saw a picture of the kitten beside a player and yeah, it looks as big as a regular cat. It doesn’t really look like a kitten to me either. The proportions, from the picture, look like a mature cat.
Skimpy armor options for males in this game run the gamut from A to B.
I think you hit them all with those 2 pictures.
I remember when they first talked about the personality system, how NPCs would react to you. If you were charming you would have the chance of getting free stuff from venders. If you were barbaric, you would have the option of hitting an NPC and they would cringe from you when you walked down a street.
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.223432-Guild-Wars-2-Personality-System
Unfortunately, this didn’t happen. Maybe it was too complex. What if a charming person and a barbaric person walked together down the street? How would the NPCs react to that? It would be nice if they managed to work something out though.
I have a vague suspicion that he has named his Norn already.

Yeah, well I’ve never crashed in the character select screen, otherwise I’d leave it there.
Well, thanks anyway. Guess I’m going to move my character one step forward every 20 minutes.
BTW Why on earth would they ban us for staying online? Not that I will do it after I know now, or that I know how. Just seems weird.
I guess it’s because it’s a strain on the servers, if a lot of people routinely did it.
Since you need to do it to test your computer, you might try putting your character face first into a wall, perhaps in a building like in LA or Divinities Reach, and turning on auto run and maybe making your heal autocast.
I like you, you’re evil
Well, I try. :P
My necro wants the Thriller dance back. She is not happy with her Sylvari dance, it’s too cheerful.
Now that they have account restoration, you should get everything back. It’s a one time deal though so make sure you tighten up your security. When a friend of mine had her account hacked in Guild Wars 1, it took about a week to get restored. Hopefully, turn around time here will be faster.
Probably because it would be too small for people to see properly. They might have a minimum size for minis. In this case, it has the shape of a kitten not a cat.
Put him on your friends list with some sort of nickname and check daily. If he is gone for a few days, when he comes back send him a message asking what happened. Let him know you missed him and that you hoped he didn’t get a 3 day ban. If he responds inappropriately to your thoughtful, kind questions, report him. ^^
Or you could make it so the keys cost glory…
You didn’t get them for free in GW1…
No, you had to buy them with Balthazar faction or tournament rewards points, which would be the equivalent of glory in this game. Even for a PvEer like me, Balthazar faction was easy to get. I could do a few PvP matches and have enough to buy a key, which I could then turn around and sell or use to open the chest.
If it wasn’t for the keys, I would never had touched PvP at all.
OP, you already made another thread on this very subject called
I think that Lemongrass is too powerful
Why did you need another thread on it? One is enough. You have also posted on other threads about this. Obsessed on this much?
My guess is you hit DR (Diminishing Returns). If you stay in one area long enough, your rewards are cut back. Wiki says it cuts in after 3 hours in one area.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Diminishing_returns
What you need to do is go to another area for a while and play there. Do an event or two then you should be able to go back.

Since they say they will ban if you circumvent the auto kick feature, might be best to leave it on the character screen.
I want to make a comment in regards to the chat filter. Ive been doing alot of digging and research on the subject and I just happen to know for a fact that Arena.net and Ncsoft have purposely developed the chat filter system to allow people to foolishly fall victom to their TOS and ban them. Its a way for them to make money and my source comes right from the horses mouth. A family who has partial ownership over arena.net. It can be considered a conpsiracy if you want to call it that but its fact that ncsoft perma bans peoples accounts over repeated offences. The chat filter is the most useless tool available to Gw2 Players since it only works 1 way. Im pretty angry over this fact and have asked for help with several outside well connected anet sources on the subject but responces have been very quiet on this topic. My guess is they want to keep it quiet and dont want people knowing. The fact theres no contract you sign when you manualy remove and unlock the chat filter is evidence enough that anet allows people to use vulger language. If your going to have a filter it needs to work both ways. And removing the filter should acknowledge that you are willfully signing an agreement that you infact wish to view vulger language and also to use it as well. If you remove the chat filter you shouldnt have the right to report vulger language in the first place, reducing the amount of reports for GMs to sort through. Ultimatly what it comes down to is $ money. GMs need tickets for their daily quota, so they go home feed their Kids and family. Have a nice cushy job and earn a descent income. But the fact that ncsoft refuses to acknowledge these details and my sources is proof enough. Its a cycle of corruption that has infested even the lead GMs of ncsoft.
Its sad, for a game that has half naked women that can strip down nearly naked, and weapons and art that reveal the most intimate parts of a woman ncsoft has declared its still just a game for younger teens. This is just insane. If Anet isnt willing to make the filter work both ways then its just showing that the cycle of corruption will continue on and on.
Paranoia will destroy ya. ^^
The Zaishen keys in gw1 was a good way to entice people to play PvP. I even did some PvP periodically in that game for that reason. Having an equivalent item in game would bring in some PvEers into WvW and PvP.
For those who didn’t play Guild Wars 1.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Zaishen_key
You could either sell them or use them to open up the Zaishen chest.
Good idea. I dislike standing around waiting for the pre-event to finish and not helping once I learned helping slowed it down. Makes me feel like I’m leaching off other people’s work by just standing there.
Does it go faster if other people just guard the carrier so he can do it and not also gather?
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Level 80 champions when you are level 25 at most. I guess they really want to discourage visitors.
Caledon has a dungeon too (and almost on top of where the wurm spawns, at that)
They should bring back the Barradin ghost statue from the Charr prologue. Have those three champion ghosts in his tomb spawn every hour or two, you kill them, you fight regular ghost Barradin, then he does the statue monster thing and you fight him again.
I don’t know. I mean it’s sounds like a really great idea but you would have those hordes of people in a very small area. Seems like it would cause major lag with lots of people dying because they couldn’t dodge away in time from all the red circles.
If this did turn out to be a problem, maybe they could turn it into a mini dungeon that you could enter once a day with 4 others and get at least one guaranteed rare.
Considering my male Sylvari was stripped by the game and was nearly naked on the Southsun beach, I would assume not. A couple of leaves strategically placed, front and back, was all he had
I buy only ori harvesting tools now and only with karma. Since karma is cheap I harvest everything I come across.
If you don’t have access to ori tools yet, a number of venders sell other tools for karma.
They changed up the spawns in Southsun. The reef skelk for example, I used to farm a couple of spots there and knew where they were. Now some are gone and others are clumped up instead of spread out. Maybe there was some programming spillover to other areas.
Well, there is the option to level thru crafting. Get all to level 400 and that’s 80 character levels right there. You can do it in town and only a few hours. Guides will help you to do it in the most cost effective manner.
And then we can build jumping puzzles out of ourselves
Lol. Can you do jumping puzzles as a piece of furniture?
You can buy either fine or rough salvage kits with karma from several of the cultural weapon sellers. Not LA for some reason, but the Black Citadel for sure.
To buy ori harvesting tools with karma, yeah. You have to go either to Orr (axe and sickle) or do the event in Southsun (pick). We make it a guild trip for the Southsun one and load up.

Ia! Ia! Cthulhu Ftagn!
Definitely don’t want to meet you in a dark alley.
Now I’m afraid to leave LA.
You got a ban and a name change for Long Black Bob? Ummmm, ok. I guess it was the Long Black part and a determination that no name be offensive. I guess the WvW commander on my server named Big Meaty Petey is going to get a forced name change sooner or later.
Hmmm I dont think so <3
Forever and will always be known as BigMeatyPetey!
Just don’t run by the people who saw and reported Long Black Bob. ^^
One thing nice they had in Guild Wars 1, sometimes when you left an instance unpicked up loot would show up in a panel on the UI. Is been too long for me to remember the exact details of when it showed up but maybe they could look into something like that. Loot goes into a panel of some sort that appears when you leave the area.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Or maybe if it targets the first part of the portal and gets the red line under the skill when you move too far away.
So I can’t collect them all because I didn’t play from release?
Even if you did play from the start, it’s unlikely you could have gotten all. Some require large amounts of gold to buy from the trading post and some require large amounts of gold to overcome luck obstacles. It would be possible to spend hundreds of dollars in real money or a lot of gold and not get one because of the luck factor.
Such as Foostivoo the Merry
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Foostivoo_the_Merry
Getting it required you to be lucky 3 different times with the Wintersday Mystery Box which you had to buy from the gem store. You had to get 3 minipets to combine to get Foostivoo, as well as get the 3 others. Only ~$1 each, but the drop rate was low. Around 2% chance per box just for one mini.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Wintersday_Mystery_Box/drop_rate
Of course, you could spend massive amounts of money till you got it. But repeating this feat for each of 4 mini pets on this one occasion? And then again the next time they do the same thing?
The RNG they have put in this game is not your friend, or anyone’s.
Edit: looking at the drop rate, one person bought 165 boxes, got 5 minis but no Foostivoo. So even if he used 3 of the 5 to craft it, he still needed to buy more boxes to try for the one he didn’t have.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
I understood the OP’s argument, I was just giving an explanation as to why this is happening since it seems he/she missed it. The idea that the OP claims, “They have no reason to leave the low level maps after they finish story lines other than to go to dungeons” is completely false. People only go to low level areas to hit their daily bosses and then leave since the loot is trash compared to Orr/Southsun.
Just because low level areas can drop items at your level, it doesn’t mean most will. All material bags dropped in low level zones are of low level mats. It’s a huge loss compared to farming heavy bags in Orr in the same timeframe. That’s not even considering how the occasional rare that drops might be a level 50 or something, which is worthless since it can’t be salvaged for ectos. You might as well be getting green trash drops. If people truly believe that farming low-level areas is even close to being as profitable as farming high level zones, they’re delusional.
If the daily chests and/or level-appropriate drops are removed from these low level zones, they’ll become ghost towns again and people will (again) complain about the vacancy. I think they’ve actually struck a decent balance to be honest.
I wasn’t arguing with you. ^^
I think he was claiming that people will stay in the mid level zones more if they don’t have the chests. Not that I agree with him. People go wherever there is fun or profit, that means at this time either the world events or the high level areas (PvE wise).
Limited meant, it was for sale for those days and is not for sale continuously. It doesn’t mean it will never be for sale again.
That’s marketing for you. Every company does this.
Next time you see limited, by either ANet or any other company, you should understand it doesn’t necessarily mean what you want it to mean.
Sounds like a bug of some sort. I read one where someone couldn’t access characters in the Norn area, Hoelbrak iirc.
Maybe try rebooting your computer? I agree, if it doesn’t resolve in a few hours to a day you will probably want to contact support.
Players hang around low-level events for the daily bonus chest. After that, many people (at least on my server) head back to Orr and Southsun. Southsun still has an overflow at some times of day, and Orr has a decent population, albeit lower than before this whole Southsun thing.
If I understand his argument, he is saying it would be best for the game if it is structured so that people prefer to play level appropriate areas. That Orr (and the mid level areas?) are emptying out. That they need to remove the rares/exotics from the daily chests to push higher level people out of those areas.
1) no one knows if they will ever re-release old mini pets from previous holidays. They may, they may not.
2) no one knows if they will change account bound mini pets to non account bound, sellable pets. They may, they may not.
All that can be done is make the suggestion in the forum to change minis from account bound to sellable or to have old minis re-released and then hope they change. At this point, minis are not truly collectible. You can’t get all the minis in the game. A number of them require dumb luck to get and all the money in the game won’t buy luck for you.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Correct, race doesn’t matter. There are racial skills but they are intentionally weak and are for “flavor” only.
I think they had that at the beginning, iirc.
What happened then, was that the low and mid level areas emptied out as people reached level 80. Level appropriate drops were put in to bring people back. If people don’t have good drops at low levels, they won’t go there. If the drops are too good, they wont leave. So it’s good they have high level drops in low level areas, they just need to keep an eye on the population and fine tune it.
Sooo are you saying there was or wasn’t an anti farm code in Guild Wars 1 and/or Guild Wars 2?
I had a little trouble understanding your post.
If you are arguing that there isn’t. From the wikis:

Searching the WvW forum I found this as an answer from a Dev as to why they use loot bags and why they don’t put them in your inventory.
Habib Loew
Gameplay Programmer
In the beginning players killed NPCs and found loot on the NPC corpses. That setup is nice because it makes sense (gruesome sense, but still sense). If you kill a dude where is his stuff? In his pockets of course (see also: The Hobbit). If the corpse decayed then a bag was left behind so players would have one last chance to pick it up (it doesn’t hurt that rendering a bag is cheaper than rendering a high-poly character model.
Then WvW was born and players started killing players. At first we left the loot on the corpses as before but then a thousand player voices rang out and said “WTF man? I can’t jump down off this wall to get my loot because there’s like a hojillion enemy guys down there waiting to plant me like a tulip bulb!” or “WTF man? I can’t get up on top of that wall to get my loot because the whole point of a castle is that people can’t do that stuff!” We heard those pleas and, after some internal arguments (er, design discussions) we decided that realism could go suck it because getting loot is awesome.
So why did we put the bags at your feet rather than just dumping the items into your inventory? Part of the answer is that it was the smallest possible change that could work (programmers like stuff like that). We already had the bag spawning system so we could just reuse it. Another part of the answer is that picking up loot can be a bit like unwrapping a present and we didn’t want to ruin the unwrapping for everybody. Finally, if we just start putting loot into player inventory then we need to deal with a bunch of edge cases and at the time we had more pressing issues to work on. For example, when your inventory fills up items you receive go into inventory overflow and your character becomes encumbered. That makes you move really slowly and that didn’t seem like a nice thing to do to people in the middle of a fight. There were some others that I don’t recall off the top of my head, but suffice it to say there were some thorny design questions about the best way to handle it.
We have tossed around some ideas for ways to improve the system but it’s relatively low priority so nobody is actively working on it right now.

I would put a link to the thread, but the moderators hand out infractions for that. The thread is tiltled, Willing to share WvW details? And its on page 3.
Just like in guild wars 1, If you push crtl (default button) the bag of loot will be highlighted and you then pinpoint them on the screen.
That would be ideal for me., I’d rather see text like in GW1. I’d be afraid to find out how much I missed not seeing the sparklies. They could make it both ways, a sparkly bag of loot.
That is what I liked about them, the yellow text ‘bag of loot’ that appears when you push down ctl, or whatever you have selected to highlight this sort of thing.
After the fight, the bodies might have despawned but you push ctl and all the bags of loot show up in yellow letters.

I have one of each class, all level 80, and I try to play them equally. Right now my ranger is getting Been There Done That so he gets played more but after that….. :-) I feel it enhances the game to play multiple professions. I don’t get bored with the skill set of just one profession if I am constantly switching around.
The first part. Huh? Ummm. No. No way to stop people from saying Guild Wars 1. Not real sure what you are asking for. Lol.
As to the second part, yeah. It can be a little hard sometimes to see the two colors clearly. I have a guild mate who has gotten confused once or twice and run off, following the wrong people. A touch of color blindness maybe.
There is another thread about mounts on the same page of this forum (merged).
It’s darker out in PvE land now. It looks more like a moonlit night than, hmmm it might be night let me check if my sylvari is glowing.
THANK YOU ANET.
They are account bound and are not sellable.
Im sorry but why don’t you guys see my problem.
Anet advertise with! : " Get you one of a kind mini ! Be fast!!! Only 24 hour!!
And then 3 week later they put it back on sale. I mean.. wtf!
Ok. You bought it because you wanted to stand out. If, for arguments sake, 50% of the people currently playing bought it the first time it was out and displayed it, you no longer would like it?
You don’t buy things that are both cheap and widely available if you ‘want to stand out’. You buy them because you like the way they look.
You want to stand out, you buy rare and expensive. Not cheap and common. And expect shops that have something on sale, to have it on sale again later if the money was good. They ALWAYS will say, limited time on sale blah, blah, blah. That’s marketing.
(Shrug) Stores everywhere have sales when and on what they want. They do it to make money. They never said these were one time only items.
So, now you know. If it’s on sale it will likely be on sale again at some point. Just like every thing else for sale in the world.
Please, please, please put in bags of loot in rest of PvE.
They are much better than faint sparkles. They stay there for a while when the body despawns so you don’t have all the bodies on the ground and they are easier to see. You can hold down the button that highlights them and SEE them. Yellow text that says ‘bag of loot’.
Also…I know Wal-Mart sells the $25/2000 Gem cards. And Wal-Mart is pretty much everywhere.
Target also.
And there are the cash cards that you put money on at a cash register. You use them like you would a credit or debit card until the money on them is used up. You can get them at places like Wal-Mart.
