What did the ban message say?
I am going to guess your account was hacked and was being used to bot. If this is what happened, you will need to prove that you are the owner by providing the serial number and answering some questions. You probably lost everything, but since you were undoubtably low level it might not be a big deal. You can get a one time account roll back, but it might be best to keep that option just in case you ever get hacked again and you really need it.
ANet restricted the number of bank tabs in gw1 also. There was even one tab you couldn’t buy unless you bought it on the 4th year anniversary.
I have 2 bank guilds, and while they are useful they don’t completely solve the problem as they don’t hold account bound items. Eventually I am going to have to buy character slots and use them as storage to hold my expanding account bound items.
ANet needs to put pasties in the gem shop for the female Asura and the Charr, as well as for the males wearing this armor. Only this way can the game be saved.
I want small flower pasties for my Sylvari
You do know what flowers are right? I always blush when I go past a flower shop. Can’t believe how brazen and disgusting some people can be. I mean right there out in the open!
My female Sylvari has a giant flower now on her shoulder with pollen floating around her and bees flying around pollinating it.
I can only describe it as….. XXX.
Forget the Asura nipples. What was ANet thinking to allow blatant plant sex in the game?
I am EXTREMELY offended by this.

The first expansion for Guild Wars 1 was a year after release and the second one 6 months later. If I remember right, they said they didn’t want to release expansions as fast for this game.
Personally, I hope they release an expansion at a year after release, but I suspect it will be closer to 18 months.
Edit: I’m sure you have read this, but adding it anyway. ^^

On friday NCSoft held its quarterly financial conference call, and while answering to the question from an investor the company’s Managing Direcor Nah Seong Chan had something to say about an upcoming expansion for Guild Wars 2.
“We Are Preparing an Expansion pack, but in terms of when we will actually launch it, it’s something that we’re still monitoring the situation on.”
“We’re looking at the performance of the game and deciding when it would be the best time to do the launch, and that’s still something we’re thinking about.”
I can’t farm CoF fast enough to be able to afford the mini’s in time- the one I wanted is gone because gem prices are so high & I couldn’t meet the demand of converting lol
400 gems is about 13 gold. While I can understand that this may be more than some people have available to convert to gems, you have 7 days to make enough gold to buy it. This should not be a problem if you are willing to put in the effort to obtain something you truly desire.
Or, $5 in real money. If someone really wants it and doesn’t have gold they can cut out sodas or beer for a few days and afford it.
For anybody who is saying Asura are not mammals

Interview with Eric Flannum, lead content designer at Arenanet, he is asked about Asuran biology and blatantly states they are mammals, complete with mammary glands.
I think this settles it. They have mammary glands with a biology extremely close to humans. There are NIPPLES and they are THERE. They need to be COVERED.
Make a petition for pasties.
At this point, it would be better than this full on nudity.
I would answer you, but I am busy being offended by my dogs nipples. She has short hair and I can see them clearly. I’ll get back to you as soon as I get them covered up. Plus there is a personal area that shows clearly. O.o

OP, just walk around spamming “no one look at me, I’m nekkid.” No one will look at you then. Also, play with your eyes closed. That will solve all your concerns.
If you read the post, I am not the Asura. I am the Norn in red behind the Asura, looking away in shame due to the full on nudity.
Ohh, soooo. Why were you looking at some other species nakedness? Do you make your dog and cat wear clothing? ^^
Dogs and cats are animals in the wild in real life. Charr are unique animals, and they have fur, but they also have equipment to cover what their fur cannot. The Asura have no fur, and they are NOT real animals of the wild, and as such they are expected to wear clothing and to cover up all of their FULL ON NAKED PARTS until an ESRB rating change is made to the game.
Ummm they are still different species. They have live births, but no breasts showing. So, if the chest region is not a “sensitive” area culturally speaking, then the clothing is not offensive. It’s like being offended because an intelligent species like say, a krait, has the chest region showing.

It’s only been a few hours since you spoke to her. It took me 24 hours to get my first email back on an account issue. I think that’s close to standard, especially on a weekend when they are likely to have no or reduced staff.

Just out of curiosity, since it shows only one being purchased did it actually charge you for 2 or did you get one free? If it charged you for 2, they should be able to see the gems being used.
Edit: in other words they should be able to “follow the money”. To see what gems you had, when you had them and what happened to them. If gems disappeared from your account without a purchase on record, that should tell them there is a bug somewhere.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
They took out the audio log collectors though, didn’t they? I had 4 to turn in, went to wayfarers and no collector.
You only get so many success orders per month using the saved card to prevent fraud. If you want additional purchases you need to enter the information yourself.
Maybe so, but I only use the credit card once a month. I have a budgeted $10 that I spend at the beginning of the month. If I want more gems than that I convert gold to gems. It still makes me reinput and save the same card each time.
They need a mask of one of those face hugging baby Karkas. Now THAT would be worth buying. Lol
That’s a bug I have seen happen once or twice. In the previous cases, it was fixed by logging out completely then logging back in.
If I understand what you are asking, no. Just putting a soulbound item in the bank does not make it account bound. To make something account bound you will need to break the soulbinding. To do that, you transmute to a white item. If you are keeping the skin then choose a cheap low level white. Transmute keeping the skin. It will then be account bound. To change the look but keep the stats while breaking the soulbinding may depend. I haven’t tried to break the soulbinding that way. I think it can be done, but you might have to do it twice.
2 questions. One, what credit card did you use to buy the game? I don’t mean was it Visa or MasterCard. I mean whose name was it under. If it wasn’t in your name then the owner of the card may have reversed charges. Two, where did you get the game from? From the Guild Wars 2 online site or did you buy it from some dealer? There have been cases where people bought the game from somewhere other than the ANet site and the people they bought it from, reversed the charge they originally had to ANet. In effect getting double the money from one sale. This also will cause an account to be terminated.
It’s my name on the card and I bought game from Guild Wars 2 online site.
Account was not terminated and charges was reversed because of their auto-ban system. They wrote to me that there is no cause for this account to be blocked, but charges was already voided because of mistaken temporary block. This is what they wrote to me:
“This game account was temporarily blocked by our billing system due to possible unauthorized credit card activity. I have reviewed this Guild Wars 2 game account and have determined that there is no cause for this account to be blocked for this reason. As a result of this temporary block, the recent transaction was voided and was not billed to the credit card on file.”
Well glad you got your account back. It would be nice to know what exactly they meant by “possible unauthorized credit card activity” but getting direct answers from support can be difficult at best. Probably because they have found that it leads to people arguing with them about why or why not something is wrong. But anyway, glad it was fixed.
72 hours is quite a long time for 1 lapse of judgement (if there even was one)…
I have to say, I cannot take much more of this support system… No phone number, no live chat reps, this is ridiculous.
That’s what I’m also trying to say. Such imperfect auto-ban system is ridiculous, when there is no appropriate support for customers.
They answered me a minute ago that my account was without reason blocked because of possible unauthorized credit card activity. But because of this stupid auto-ban, they also voided last transactions and disable my serial key! Now I don’t have my 60$ (just hope that they’ll return correctly my money “in next few business days”) and still can’t play next 3 days!
So maybe I must buy another game? Such a perfect way to earn money! Also they don’t have any quick form for answer to them, just support@guildwars2.com mail, which probably spammed. Is this a customer care they propose?

Guild Wars one for years had people that charged for services. It was an accepted part of the game and I don’t see Mesmer portaling people for a fee as any different. Personally I would rather pay someone who is happy to do it for a fee than either not be able to do it or be reduced to asking in chat and hoping someone will take time out to do it.
Having a slow laggy connection means that some jumping puzzles are unobtainable for me. The one in Southsun with the disappearing step stones combined with lag is particularly bad.
Omnoms only grow in Orr right?
It must taste like the undead, but it will find the magic for you.
They also grow in the Eternal Battleground, rarely.
And are watered there by the bitter tears of the vanquished players.
Or how about a targeting rule that prioritizes red targets over yellow ones. I get so tired of targeting random yellows that are wandering around in the midst of red targets. Or the Southsun events where there is one red target in a bunch of yellow settlers. For some reason I wasn’t able to click on the red target and was tabbing through a horde of yellow ones. Standing there, tab, tab, tabbing through all them was annoying.
You can’t use a name referring to an existing religion, but you can use one from a dead religion. It’s not so much a no religious reference rule as a don’t offend rule. So, maybe you can find one that you like from a dead religion.

When I put my card in, it requires me to save it in order to proceed with the transaction. And then of course the next time I want to use it I have to enter it again. So, it’s saving the number but not really. Which is a little strange.
The Devs said they are working on rotating the colors, separating them from rank. If they get that put in, that should solve most of the problems.
If they add ascended armor and weapons, I hope they come to their senses and make them craftable, able to uses sigils and runes, AND make the mats requirements reasonable, not this 250 of whatevers.
I have 8 level 80s. The time it will take to get just the jewerly for all them is far too long. I don’t need to add that amount of time for armor and weapons on top of it.
a: Read the login error message. Besides the fact that you are suspended it also gives the reason. e.g. Name violation, bad language, botting, gold selling, etc.
There is no actual reason in the error message. It says just:
“Your Guild Wars 2 account has been suspended for an account issue.”So it’s absolutely unclear what was the issue and why I can’t play in the game for that I pay not a small amount of money..
Also it’s unclear why support is so slow with such an urgent issue? I send a request yesterday night and for now get such a “promising” answer:
“We are in the process of investigating this issue for you and you should receive an update as soon as we have more information to provide. We may need more time if you contacted us on a weekend or holiday, but someone will respond to this support ticket as soon as possible.”This is not the behavoiur I expect from respectfull company..
Sometimes accounts get suspended because they can tell that a hacker is trying to access it. They can see when multiple passwords are tried and they close it down to protect it. The part where they said “account issues” is different than the usual suspensions like botting, gold selling, etc…
I would like to see more current events circled on the big maps. Certainly all the meta events.
Not being able to see events from further away means you wander around looking for events to do or trigger. On days when I am trying to do my daily and time is short, it means I head to the noob zones where I know already where they are. I would go to the higher level zones on those days if I could find events easier.
What is your cooking level? You need to be level 325 to discover.
This site has maps with the locations of pets circled.

Oooh! I have a statistic for you guys!
Ehem.
Currently, 100% of Guild Wars 2 players cannot log on. It seems that the login servers are down, and that I have somehow found my way into this thread.
I have an update. It seems to me that my cat has figured out how to turn my door handle, opening my door. But the bad part is, I don’t have a pet cat, and my door doesn’t have a handle.
Try contacting gw2support about this. I’m sure they want to know. ^^
The hamsters in the server room went on strike. I told you guys not to allow them to unionize.
GG Anet, GG! Great Trial! Can’t wait for full release!!!
OMG! When the real game starts, I have to relevel all 8 professions again?
There is also a hole in the ground leading to her, north of the Cereboth waypoint. There are usually bats flying around the entrance, iirc.
So much hate over not wanting easy mode? Perhaps it’s all due to a misunderstanding? I’ll try to simplify my position:
1) This game is made so that every player is able to craft their own Legendary weapon, with invested time.
2) Every player who puts in said time deserves to have their Legendary weapon.
3) Barriers are in place to prevent short-cutting this process. However, with the nature of RNG, there are some who’ll get the lucky draw.
4) Purchasing a Legendary requires a legendary amount of Gold, so buying one outright only slightly cheapens the process. Now then. It’s one thing to have a lot of players have the same Legendary due investing time and resources. It’s another thing if you have a lot of the same Legendaries around due to “easy mode”. Getting a Precursor or farming for tons of Lodestones is one of the main barriers to certain Legendaries. The barrier helps to keep these weapons’ rarity levels high. In my opinion, increased drop rates and/or free Precursors is similar to wanting the “easy mode” button. That cheapens the Legendary weapon far more than being able to buy/sell them on the TP.
You got yours with “easy mode”. If the game puts in a “hard mode”, would you delete it and redo? After all, that means the one you have is cheapened.
No? Somehow I thought not. ^^
By the way, I wouldn’t say that you are attracting hate, I would say its a lot closer to contempt. Someone who comes out and says, “I got mine now I want it harder for everyone else because I want to be special”, well I don’t hate that person. But I certainly don’t feel any respect.

I say NO, keep the town clothes exactly that TOWN clothes.
please note, i don’t want them to be usable in combat. i just don’t want them to go away because i was in lion’s arch and fell an inch too much, or decided to go for a dive. or, in the case of southsun, was moving from the resort to another part of the settlement and got hit by a random karka.
the key point here is “i can do this already, but it’s cumbersome. streamline it”. i can keep toggling my clothes back on, but after a while you just won’t bother, because it’s freaking obnoxious to do so. when i want to fight, i’ll put my combat gear back on my own. we have a button for that already.
How is the game going to tell one type of damage from another without a ton of coding, so that it knows when to remove the town clothes and when not to? Pretty much you have to keep the system in place now or completely revamp it so they become outfits that can be worn in combat.
I say NO, keep the town clothes exactly that TOWN clothes.
And your reason?
Edit: can’t say immersion when you have people shooting rainbow horses from their longbow with the ANet logo on them or any of the other legendary weapon effects. Or the harvesting pick that causes a lava explosion. So if its not because of immersion, then why not?

My only problem with this idea is playing with friend. Back when the game first started everyone was in dozens of overflows because of the fact that everyone playing the game was doing so in 1 of 5 starter zones. For that first month or so it was terrible trying to play together with your friends and all get into the same overflow together or to decide to join the regular server or not. In the end I like the way it is currently with servers. I agree I hate the lack of players, but I do not personally think this is the way to do it.
What if you could see which overflow you were in, the number? And if you could choose which overflow to go to? If you both choose overflow 5, for example and both go there then you would stay together.
Iirc, the district system kept party members together when they zoned into an area. It fit all members of the party into a district with enough open slots.
I tried repeatedly to get that puzzle but couldn’t. Combination of poor jumping skills and bad lag. I gave the Mesmer who ported me 9 omnomberry tarts (didn’t have much in inventory right then) and a thank you.
The person who ported us, left what he was doing and changed toons to the Mesmer for us. I thought that deserved more than just a thanks.
At the very least, there should be an NPC who takes you to an instance where all the 8 professions as NPCs are there, and they can show you the different combo fields each can do. They can demonstrate how to interact with one and demonstrate leaping or shooting into a field. If they make it repeatable and allow people to choose the professions they want to see, then people can learn at their own pace.
It’s not just new people who don’t know this stuff. Even after hours of play, I’ve told guild members, if you shoot into this field I put down, this will happen and they didn’t know. And really, if they don’t play that profession themself or regularly along with that profession, it’s not intuitive. They don’t know the other professions skills if they just do PvE. No one ever sat them down and explained it to them. They just log on and play.
Guild Wars 1 always had rare, to the point of being almost unobtainable, minipets in their games. The prices on the rarest ones were astronomical, the type of jaw dropping, “you got to be kidding me, I’ve been playing this game for years and don’t have that sort of money”, price. Even a semi rare pet could cost 100k plat. I don’t know how much that would translate in Guild Wars 2 money, but 100k plat wasn’t cheap.
The Guild Wars franchise has always been about grinding for the shinies. About getting the rare vanity item to show off with. The game was marketed on this and minipets are just one of the vanity items.
So far the game has made most vanity items attainable thru a little work. Aside from the gem store RNG, which is another topic. >.> Having to grind for a few days to get money for a particular vanity item isn’t bad. At least it’s obtainable. And it’s part of the games philosophy.
Making money in the Original GW was extremely easy, 13 mules and 2 playing characters all maxed in gold as well as my bank, that’s 100 plat on each character and 1 mil in the bank. GW2 is a grind for in game cash unless you play the TP which I suck at.
I disagree. Guild Wars 1 was EVENTUALLY easy to farm/grind in. But in the early days, the first year, it wasn’t so easy. It was quite hard to make gold. Eventually as time goes on, the gold sinks tend to get less ( you don’t need to outfit more characters) and the knowledge and availability of stuff goes up.
Comparing Guild Wars 2 to Guild Wars 1 five years in is not the same as comparing Guild Wars 2 to Guild Wars 1 nine months in.
He also said he had 1 million plat, when the game was 6 years old and I can believe it. However that sort of money in the bank wasn’t common amongst the “little people”. Most struggled to get 100k.
In all fairness, later in the game, I found 100k quite easy to get….however, the stuff I wanted couldn’t be bought with 100K, or even 1000k. There were minipets that were completely out of my reach on a permanent basis.
Yeah, I could get 10k a day from fairly casual play towards the end. But that was at the end of the game with the quests they put in. Before then, no way
The really expensive minipets were out of my budget as I was trying to get GWAMM and they cost a lot, as well as rarely being for sell. Some of them would probably cost close to the million dollars that that guy had. Lol. Not many people had that much. I know a lot of people didn’t even have 20k. I spoke to long time guildies who didn’t have much money.
I really wanted a mini-Yakkington. My wife finally got one after almost a year of doing Nick the Traveler every week. I never did. I did get a moss spider egg though. lol
I did a little digging, and found that a mini Yakkington, undedicated, could be sold a year ago for about 40 ectos. Which is in the neighborhood of around 360k plat, as a an ecto sold for about ~9k back then, iirc. The problem in this case was not really price, it was supply. Those minis, and several others like them may have been affordable for the long time players with money or who could farm The UW, but to buy one you had to have the money AND be in the same area as someone who had one to sell. Most people who had one, weren’t selling.
If they want to do the RNG thing, then put them in chests for a while for those who feel lucky then put them in the gem store for everyone else.
Please put these types of items on the gem store as a straight purchase.
The town areas in Guild Wars 1 had a district system which acted like the overflow here.. When you ported into a town it put you into one of the districts. If you wanted to go to a more crowded district or one with fewer people, you clicked on the tab and asked to go to district 1 or district 5 or whichever. Then as long as there was room, you went there. There were not only American districts but foreign districts as well, that you could go to if you wanted.
I wish they had kept that sort of system for the game. It allowed you to go to the level of crowding that you preferred and if there were annoying people where you were then you just switched districts.
I can see how they would need to keep server names for WvW and because of lag maybe no longer mix the continents. But I agree, the district or overflow/underflow system would help to fix some of the problems caused by areas emptying out of population.
You mean, like every 15 minutes or so? Yah. All I could do the get the daily done in a low level PvE area.

How long did it take you to get that sort of money? Did you have a lot of money when the game was only 9 months old? Could you afford the highest priced items in the game at that time?
Yes, when the game was older you could make money easily. A person who knew what they were doing when the game was several years old could make money hand over fist. But not, I bet, when the game was 9 months old. The OP is complaining he has to “farm for days and days to get one”. I was pointing out that that is how the game was set up and marketed. If you want vanity items, you have to farm for them.

It’s french, and it reads “I don’t want 100g or how to get rid of 100g”. You won’t find “po” on google because it is short for “pièce d’or”, literally gold coin. “Ou” is both where and or, though it should be accentuated when it means where (Où).
K, well that makes a bit more sense.
