Yah, maybe so. But ANet is also known to make mistakes and terminate accounts which are then reinstated. A thread last month had one guy who was banned and reinstated several times within a short time. I got a termination and then was reinstated 27 hours later because they made a mistake. So coming here and calling him a hacker is rude. He may be guilty and he may be innocent. However YOU don’t know he is guilty.

It’s not restricted to one tier; it’s almost all of them. I doubt that Southsun dragged such a high percentage of players as to cause such a shortage. It’s not likely, right? Were you in Southsun during this event? Tons of people there 24/7 and each level 80 farming there is one less person who would otherwise be farming in another area.

I do key runs regularly and noticed that people will snap up the starter white weapons for some obscure reason. Buying them for more than what you can get by salvaging them. They will pay about ~50c for them. If you salvage one you get one copper ore or one green wood. Not worth 50c.

At a guess, most of the farmers right now are in Southsun, which has only a few T6 mats, not Orr. Less people farming in Orr, less T6 mats supply in the TP.

They do make mistakes sometimes in banning people. If its a mistake you should get reinstated soon.

Had the same problem as OP. I was doing the pre-event and didn’t know I needed to be outside the town. Was at the doorway killing when suddenly a large number of them spawned all around me, and yes I saw them spawn and not run in. I dodged but there were way too many and too close for that to help. Was killed almost instantly and had to run back. It’s one thing to have waves of them run in. It’s another to have a large number of them spawn on top of you inside the area the group is defending.

Well, got the achievement at least. Now I don’t ever have to do it again.

What were the exact words of the ban message?. Usually it’s more than one thing listed which may mean it wasn’t for modifying the game but something else.

I think that would definitely fall under sexual acts and real life violence.

I used to have my warrior at cursed shores to do some occasional farming. I went there after being not going there for awhile, jogged down to shelter/penitent and it was completely deserted except for risen. An escort quest was dead nearby surrounded by multitudes of risen. After a while another player turned up and we got the escort restarted and then penitents reopened. Eventually a handful of other players turned up but the difference between now and when all the happy farmers were there was huge. I know a lot of people are farming in Southsun, but the changes to the events seems to have discouraged many. Considering this area could be considered part of endgame content, the Devs should be encouraging people to go there, not discouraging.

At the end, I pulled my warrior out again. Currently she is parked near an ori node for a daily harvest. :/

It’s possible but I doubt it since you can buy it without gold now, making it essentially free. However, I wouldn’t mind it myself if it was in the gem store as my laurels are all being used for the foreseeable future buying ascended jewelry.

Edit: I wrote that a few days ago and I’ve changed my mind on what I said. I now think it should never be in the gem store. If I had paid 100 laurels for it and it then came out for 8 or 10 dollars I would be really annoyed. The 100 laurels price means that it’s a rare vanity item and it should stay that way.

Which chests are you referring to? There is one in Southsun guarded by a champion skelk that I know of. Never got better than a green off it.

You might consider buying a character slot and storing them on that one. I had several mules in Guild Wars 1 that I used only for storage of various items. The other alternative, is to get a guild bank to use as storage. Iirc, it costs about 8 gold to reach the 50 slot bank. The problem with it is you can’t store account/soul bound stuff there. However you can store other items there and free up storage in your bank for bound items.

If its offensive enough to earn a suspension for the character, then it’s probably offensive enough to get an infraction for posting it on the forum.

You can restart, but not on the same character. People use this to level up alts quickly after they have one at 80.

I have read how Sylvari skin color affects the dyes/coloring on the cultural armor. Perhaps it’s a bug related to that?

If you have any names that you feel break TOS, you can self report. Contact support and tell them the names and ask to be allowed to change them. Don’t play those characters until the names are either changed or support says they are ok and they wont be reported by other players and you won’t get another suspension.

The heals you receive from others or give to others are fairly small and won’t keep someone alive through heavy damage. They help if the person is in need of a heal, but it’s more in the category of “better than nothing” than a “keep you alive” heal.

Like DreamyAbbadon said, there are no healers. But there is support, which includes healing (some).

No, you just reach 100% again. The titles/rewards were once per account/character.
Don’t need to do it really, unless you are a completionist. :-)

In town it’s ok. Cause there it’s good for RP to have hats for characters that are children for example.

I do believe this argument, that it would destroy the atmosphere of the game, is no longer valid. There are people shooting unicorns with the ANet logo from bows, picks with lava explosions, footprints from legendaries, ect…. And now they will have people with holographic, flapping wings from the upcoming event.

With all this, there is no reason not to have costumes wearable in combat.

I wish they did have underflow. The game is more fun when there are more people and even highly populated servers have areas with few people. If they could have people funneled into underflow servers I think it would improve the game greatly.

I can pretty much guarantee you this did not happen. This is an obvious lie started to make Anet look bad.

The story doesn’t make logical sense. To believe it, a person would have to believe that a company would
1) redefine, randomly, some common innocent word and make it a permanent ban for saying it
2) the company was willing to break their own rules and procedures on suspensions and bannings. That is, they would simply ban because of reports irregardless of whether or not the reports are true.
3) the company was willing to go against its own financial interests in doing these things.
It was willing to ban a customer for no reason. Someone who bought the game, was playing it and hopefully was continuing to fund the game by buying gems. And who if actually banned for such a frivolous reason, could sue or otherwise cause bad publicity.

The alternative explanation is the guy repeatedly used abusive or racist language, was banned and then lied about it. And anyone who would use profane language to the point that they get banned in a video game, yes, they would lie about it. Brewergamer is believing a lie that any logical thought would have told him was untrue.

I will try and make it as simple as I can but I doubt you will understand: The point is Arenanet does not care for their customers, In fact I think they enjoy trying to frustrate them as when other more professional companies treat their customers well. It’s a matter of professionalism. For example: On this game if you put in a ticket about some misc. problem, you’ll get a response 2-8 weeks later that is just an automated response that has nothing to do with what you were talking about. If you put a ticket in on WoW you get a response within a couple hours and it’s a real person that is there to help you and is generally caring about your frustration. If nothing else, you can always post your character names here and let people tell you if they think it breaks TOS. ^^

They don’t tell you ahead of time because they do the suspensions on a case by case basis. It would take too long to go thru each persons characters names and evaluate each one so they wait till they are reported. Also, if they did it the way you suggest, let’s say you get a forced name change and they look over the other names. However the person who looks doesn’t catch one that needs to be also changed and he doesn’t tell you to change it. So, later you get another name change. You could then argue with support that it was looked at earlier by them and they approved it at the time. They both don’t have the time to go through all those names and they don’t want to be arguing with people who say it was already approved by them.

They need the costume maker like in Guild Wars 1.

Once you have purchased a costume from the Guild Wars In-Game Store or the NCsoft Store, speak to a Costume Maker to receive your costumes. Once you have purchased a costume, any character on your account can wear it. Each character just needs to speak to the Costume Maker to receive a costume.

You speak to him each time you get a new costume and he stores your costume for you. You speak to him again and select from the list of stored costumes to receive a free costume to wear. When you get tired of wearing it, you delete it. All your characters have access to all the costumes and all can wear them at the same time. No storage in bank, free easy access.

I would like this also. For example I would like to just change the length of the teeth on my Charr and maybe the tattoo on my Norn but don’t want to buy a whole kit for one change.

Have tried on Blackgate at all hours and nothing. Every other MMPOG I have seen allows for more than one server. Basically, I can build a character on a server other than my friends’ and play there, and IF there is ever an opening, kill that character off and start over in the small time there is an opening if I am lucky.

That is not much of a solution. I am kinda sorry I spent the money. At least we did not waste another $50 for the wife.

If I understand what you are saying, you can do that. You can make a character on a server and then guest to other servers in the same group, North American or Europe. Then if an opening comes up you can transfer for free by deleting your character(s).

Well, there is another really great place to farm that I found. It’s in a place called Orr. Tons of t6 mats drop. Easy temple events with more tons of T6 mats from all the adds. Lots of other events to run. People everywhere, it’s like this HUGE party.

Ah. Well hopefully the person you sent it to will log on and be honest enough to return them. I remember several times in the beginning of this game sending stuff to the wrong person. Either it would autofill another person’s name when I was typing or it would select someone I was standing by and put their name in. Fortunately they were all nice enough to return it. I doubt there is anything that ANet can or will do though. They tend not to correct user error, but it’s worth a try.

Did you ask him to clear out his mailbox? One time I sent stuff to a guildie and she had a mailbox full of email from ANet and she told me she didn’t get it. It wasn’t until she cleared out ANet’s mail that it arrived.

SIGH More town clothes. Well, I guess some people buy them, role players mostly probably . But why not add armor skins? Or bring back costumes like in Guild Wars 1 that could be worn in combat? Oh well. It’s actually a great money savings for me as I won’t buy them. I’m only in town for a few minutes a day, town clothes are no use to me.

Ele’s are hard to play and hard to level if you aren’t above average with them. I would make 2 suggestions. One is to see if a guild mate or friend wants to level with you. Second is to consider switching to a different profession. You might find a different one more fun.

I never got one but I only used a master’s salvage kit. So I guess it’s only if you used a BL kit during that time. Oh well, it was only 15 silver for the kit and about 25 rares.

Is this possible to do this to get badges? Make a character, explore your own borderland and get 10. Delete and repeat.

Maybe for those who don’t want to fight, can they do this?

Really need to have yellows only clickable to target. It’s bad enough in regular fights targeting some random yellow. In the Southsun instigator fights I run up then go tab, tab, tab, tab, tab, tab, tab, tab, tab, tab, tab, …….. until I FINALLY get to the red target that I want to hit, I tried clicking on the red target but there were too any other players and yellows to do so.

wait a tic—how are these crab skins harder to get than the fused skins? you had to get keys to open those chests for fused skins and even with a poor drop rate in bl chests, you can’t simply get those keys like you can the southsun crates. They are only from random map completion drops, very specific story mission rewards, or gem store.

that’s it. the crates in southsun tend to drop like candy…more or less…and they are free. the time it took to “grind” to level 10 for bl keys is incomparable to the time it takes to get a handful of southsun crates.

It takes me about 40 minutes to get a BL key from doing the story line. For me at least, the chests don’t drop at a rate of one every 40 minutes. And I’m not very fast at it. Many people can get a key in 30 minutes, according to what they say on forums.

Its an interesting suggestion. One problem though, if it was fun at all it would take people away from WvW. If it took too many away, WvW could either collapse or one server completely overpower the other two in each grouping. A PK server would need to address this possibility.
