They said its not in cities and big population maps so whatever you are seeing, it’s not from the new Megaservers, unless you are role playing out on previously deserted maps.

I’m very glad and excited with your overwhelming responses regarding the MegaServer system. We are still working on establishing the best roll-out plan for this feature. I’d like to provide you with an update on our plans. It was announced on the blog post that we planned to start with the PvP Lobby, the level1 to 15 maps, as well as the cities. As MegaServers evolved into a finished product, we have changed our initial roll-out plan.

We are now planning on releasing the system starting with the PvP lobby and low population maps, and incrementally moving onto the maps with high populations.

With this approach, the behavior on level 1 to 15 maps won’t change until we’ve seen the positive confirmation from the community as well as from our metrics that MegaServer is working as expected on lower population maps.
MegaServer is a complex system, so we will be closely monitoring its deployment. We will make adjustments to our plan in accordance with the results of the roll-out. Our Quality Assurance team have performed a great job in doing an extensive testing of the game under this new paradigm, but nothing can stress out a system like a huge amount of players rushing through Tyria to rediscover the world with fellow adventurers. Which is why we’re extremely careful about that.

That’s a common complaint actually. That someone jumps too much from one spot to another without knowing where they are going,, takes the wrong route and has to backtrack then falls off and dies and lies there calling for a rez. What really annoys me is when they open the chest at the end and complain about the rewards after.

Are the 2 of you members of the same guild? If so, maybe he can put it in the guild vault and you pick it up. If the 2 of you are not members of the same guild and become one, there is a 72 hour wait before the new member can do this.

New accounts are restricted from sending gold through the mail (you can thank the gold sellers for this). I think you can do it by through the guild vault, but not positive.

I know I’m alright if I just say kitten in regular speech or when thinking. But if I ever stub my toe and yell out KITTEN IT! then I know it’s time for a Guild Wars 2 vacation.

Back then there were a number of cooking items you could buy with karma. There was a incident where one player found out how to make gold selling the chili poppers. He then advertised this information to large numbers of people. He got a 3 day suspension and several items were removed from the karma table.

I remember a Dev on a post, sometime after launch talking about why the loot doesn’t go directly into inventory. Iirc they said that when your inventory completely filled up in this manner, you would either slow down drastically or come to a halt. That they felt this was undesirable in WvW to be fighting and get suddenly stalled in the middle of the fight. The compromise was to have the loot drop at your feet.

The post is long gone and I don’t have the source for it but I remember reading this on the forum.

Nope, it’s not tomorrow yet, it’s still today and will be today for another hour and a 15 minutes. After that THEN it will be today again.

It’s usually around noon server time. Which is another 14 hours. Give or take an hour or three. It’s actually still April 14th where they are for another couple of hours.

I don’t see how they could do it, not on an individual basis where you look like yourself but as a child, not without a lot of work. I could see it as a generic child however. Even then I suspect it would be 5 generic tonics, one for each race.

Go through each section of Maguuma explorer and make sure it’s uncovered on the map. It’s tedious but you should be able to pinpoint any missing areas with it.

Afaik the only times they change the display name is if it is the persons actual name or if it breaks TOS. Since your display name meets neither of these rules they won’t change it. Your only other recourse is to buy a new game with a different display name and let the other one be used for storage or left unplayed.

A bit of personal story: my old friend who got me into GW1 was showing me that game before I bought it, and referred to his GW1 characters as “toons”. When I asked him why, he shot back with, “Haven’t you seen Roger Rabbit?”

Interesting discussion here, for sure. I enjoy reading where people first heard the term. What I simply cannot fathom is why some people are bothered by it to such a degree. I was initially confused by “char”, thinking it was just a misspelling of “charr”. One of my guildies wanted to show me her new “char”, so I waypointed to where she was, looked at her “char” and said, “That’s not a charr, that’s a sylvari!”

I don’t know why it bothers some people either. Normally something like a word bothers someone if there is some type of emotion involved. My guess is, these people are attached more to their characters than the people who use the word toon and it feels like it is trivializing it in some way.

If that’s not right maybe the people who are bothered by it can give a better explanation as to exactly why.

Imo one reason they will never put it in place is because they have put so much effort, time and money designing WvW. Any people who are getting their world PvP by going off to a separate map are people who aren’t doing WvW. To ANet and the people who play WvW and who want more people on their side so they can win, this is not a plus. Unless you can think up a way that won’t hurt WvW numbers, there is no reason for ANet to put it in a different type of world PvP.

I’m sorry you are so displeased by this new sytem and after reading your explanation I can see that farming the transmutation charges is not a good answer for you. I didn’t fully understand your complaint when I suggested it. You paid money in good faith for certain items to be used in certain ways and all this will be taken from you with only a ‘refund if your not happy with it’. If it was me in your position I would be unhappy too.

All I can say is, for ANet as a company, they are trying to fix a mistake they made when the game was designed. They thought the towns clothes and costumes would be more popular than they are. They thought that system would bring in the most money. In order to revamp it so it does bring in the sales they want, they have to trample over your purchases and how you play. I’m sure they aren’t happy with that but they feel that more people will be pleased with the new system than pleased with the old. And that more money will be coming in with the new sytem than going out as refunds. As the saying goes, it’s not personal, it’s business. Yes, you bought in good faith and imo you deserve to have all the refunds you request. I hope that you will find things you like about the new sytem that overrides the problems you have found with it.

It sounds like gear and costumes have their own separate systems. If you look on the right hand side of the attachment you will see a section labeled Outfits. If I’m right, these can be put on and removed at will without charge through its own separate appearance slot. If removed then the underlying armor should show.

In Guild Wars 1 the costumes had their own slot and went over armor. You toggled them on or off or removed and put on a different set freely. I think the Guild Wars 2 system will be like that. http://www.guildwars.com/gameplay/loot_and_items/costumes/

For the role players who specialized in mix and match, this is a loss for them. For the rest of the players, the majority of them, the new wardrobe system is a major plus. I never bought any costumes or ever used my town clothes. I had no use for them. Looking around me on my server and the ones I guested to, I rarely if ever saw anyone using costumes or town clothes, except sometimes during holidays when they had new ones for sale and people were wearing them. But a few weeks later, no one.

Now, I’m anticipating using my town clothes. When costumes come out I’m planning to buy some. Some people are losing, yes. But the majority are gaining.

If that happens.. i’ll never play any more games from this company. I’ts very simple for them to refund my money. Just a couple of clicks. If they were prompt in resolving issues, this would have never happened.

Actually it costs the company money, not just the sales they lose but there are charges they have to pay the credit cards. It’s a substantial loss of money for them if there are many people asking for refunds.

I would really hesitate to get a refund without first getting all the consequences clearly spelled out first by support. I suspect what will happen is that, since that card will be banned, all charges will be reversed and both accounts will suspended.

dont be.. so all in all I have 3 keys… 1 from a suspended account… another one recently bought and used on the suspended account, thinking it will fix the problem (i want this refunded)… and lastly, another one for a completely new account that I created just so I can play now. Customer support answered my e-mail just once and told me that I will not get any further support for the 1st account which had been suspended and anymore replies will be ignored. So right now I think they are ignoring me or prolly added me to some sort of ignore list so I will just have to cancel the the “EATEN” key that I bought.

You said at first that they had not answered ticket 2. They told you with ticket 1 that you will not get any more support for that ticket.

Town Clothes sold through the gem store as outfits, such as the Pirate Captain’s Outfit, will be usable as a single outfit skin through the Wardrobe. Purchasing an outfit will unlock it for all characters on your account to use. It was my understanding that most town clothes won’t require transmutation charges. They will be either sets, that can’t be mixed and matched, or tonics.

5 free transmutation charges won’t get you very far if you ‘use a lot of mix and match towns clothes or role play much’. Running the 5 cities just once will get you that many, for free.

If you are like many others, you had a bunch of the lower level T stones, which will be converted to charges at a 3 to 1 ratio. Many people had a stack or more of T stones they had no use for. And now they do. For most people the T stones will convert to far more than the 5 free charges you requested.

Most of the town clothes, while no longer being able to mix and match, will be free to use. No transmutation charges needed. Others will be tonics, again no transmutation charges needed.

You will be able to get free charges by doing area maps, including cities (1 charge for each). Make a character, run it through the starter instance, take the PvP portal to the Vigil. Take the portals to the cities, map each, get free charges. Repeat as needed.

I would be cautious about getting a refund. They will ban that card and if that’s the only one you have right now that may cause problems. If you ask for a refund make sure you understand all the consequences first.

From what I’ve read there are two data centers for GW2. the Americas data center is located in Austin, United States and the EU one is located in Frankfurt, Germany.

Hello Xlll – I can understand the confusion here. Just to clear things up, all European servers are physically located in Frankfurt. It’s just that the IP’s are registered in the U.S. by the company that has ownership of those registered IP’s.

The game’s servers are located in Austin, Texas. Sometimes the IP will report that it is coming from there.

Maybe trace the IP and see if it’s from Austin or the surrounding area.

You can also get minor sigils of bloodlust. Put them on your weapons. In some of the fights I get the full stack of 25 by the end. If you put them on the low level weapons, they will be account bound and you can reuse the weapons with the sigils on the next run.

Besides the runes that total up to an additional 40 power, I use the rice balls you can buy from the chef NPC. They give you 20 power plus the extra XP per kill.

I’ve been kicked to character select multiple times during the last few seconds of temples and the meta events. It’s very tedious to do go through a whole event then miss out on the final reward because the game kicks you right at the end.

A dev mentioned somewhere that having more than one of the same type of skin (Marjory’s dagger, for example) would mean that you wouldn’t need a transmute charge for one use. So… it’s not exactly clear.

I haven’t seen that, though it may certainly be possible. We will have to wait for the 15th to see all the details.

Even after the patch, people who have an unused character slot can farm the transmutation charges by making characters and discovering cities, so the cost of transmuting is really not that high. As well as all the people who had the formerly worthless to them low level T stones.

It’s costly all right. The nice thing is though you have that skin now and can apply it to any of your alts that have a focus after the patch.

It’s in your options. Options, sound options, player instrument volume.

There were a couple of threads about it in the forum, back when they had the first one for sale. Some people were upset that this was an option and people could chose to not listen to them. They felt that this lowered the value of their instruments if someone nearby could mute them. Lol.
