If they could tell us what server we are on, maybe in the guild panel if not on the mini map, that would be a help. At least then the nodes could be documented on the appropriate node maps and we could check the server node maps to see the layout.
Having crafted 3 full ascended suits already .. Thats not how it works.
You have to spend laurels for the second suit but you are correct I can purchase all the insignia recipes with Karma.
Just cant make the armor with just an insignia.
2 heavy one zerk one sentinel and a celestial cloth suit.
couple pieces for other suits as well …. so Astral you should check again.
Well, that’s dumb, for want of a better word. I haven’t tried to make any weapons with different stats.
These are ascended weapons and are crafted only, at crafting level 500. In the wiki they are not called viridian, viridian is a green color. They may be the Angshu stats. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascended_weapon
The problem as I see it is the cost in Laurels to craft said Items.
Ummm, no laurels are required to craft Ascended armor or weapons.
You have to buy the recipes from the NPC for the ascended weapons and armor. Each one is 5 laurels each. Armorsmith, Tailor, and Leatherworker: 30 laurels each for a full suit. So 90 laurels if you want to outfit one of each weight class.
In addition, if I want to craft every weapon for all my 8 level 80s, just for Weaponsmith it will cost me 40 laurels. Then there is Articifer, 20 laurels. Huntsman, 35 laurels. That’s 95 laurels for all weapons.
That’s the bare minimum for ONE stat allocation … Rabid for instance.
now multiply that times the 20 various stat allocations currently in game.
so 185 laurels for all armors / weapons x 20 … so 3700 laurels even a tenth of this at 370 laurels is way to much to ask from each and every person not to mention all the other costs … (silk / linen / wool anyone?) … lol
I’m pretty sure the stat allocations are karma, specifically 21k karma each. Once you buy the basic armor/weapon type with laurels, to make another with a different stat allocation requires another Recipe: Ascended Insignia. Once you buy one you have the option to select the stats.

3 days. I got my gold back, he was able to use the gold bank but he was only able to put in 1-5 gold at the time.
K thanks for the follow up info.
The HoM skins are a reward for playing Guild Wars 1 and a thank you by the Devs to the Guild Wars 1 players who were loyal to the game for all those years. Since they are a reward and a thank you, to put the skins in the gem store now would be an exceptionally crass move.
If you want it badly enough, then work for it like we did. Don’t be begging for it to be handed to you for a couple of bucks.
If you think it can’t be used to make a legendary then you will need to contact support at https://help.guildwars2.com/anonymous_requests/new. See what they say.

Making full use of a benefit is an exploit?
No, it’s making use of a game feature or bug that the Dev did not intend.
They intended that we could guest to other servers and they made those nodes available to us. Therefore it’s an intended use of a feature.
LOL. He looked up exploit in the dictionary and cut-and-pasted without understanding what it said.
I looked it up since you said that. My guess is he is not an English speaker or is unaware that a word can have more than one meaning/definition.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/exploit
n.
An act or deed, especially a brilliant or heroic one. See Synonyms at feat1.
tr.v. (?k-sploit?, ?k?sploit?) ex·ploit·ed, ex·ploit·ing, ex·ploits
1. To employ to the greatest possible advantage: exploit one’s talents.
2. To make use of selfishly or unethically: a country that exploited peasant labor. See Synonyms at manipulate.
3. To advertise; promote.
In this case the proper definition of the word exploit is: 2. To make use of selfishly or unethically:
The guide for the linen one, I think that’s the one that was decided by ANet to be an exploit and a number of people were banned/suspended. The event may be nerfed and no longer valid for farming linen.
You best bet for linen may be just to kill Charr and separatist in that map.

Hey folks, no worries. There are several routes through which you go to access the game or the forums, and I’m told the forum sometimes throws an access IP from Texas, but that’s you… or us… or you talking with us on the forums. So it’s all good.
Most things that sell well are for one person use only, that person who buys it gets the full benefit of it. In the case of trays, other people are getting the use. You could say that that indirectly benefits the buyer but, speaking in rational economic terms only, an individual is better off financially to let someone else buy, make and put down the tray. If no one does then they are still better off to use their own private food buff.
Because it’s a philanthropic gesture to make these trays and since people are individually better off not buying and making them, that means they won’t sell to everyone. Demand is low.

You’re on a map. You have a Rich Plat Ore source. You mine it. Surely you shouldn’t be able to mine it again for a couple of hours.
Oh, but I can change servers and get it in exactly the same spot -> Exploit.
All IMHO, of course.
People have been doing this since day one, over a year and a half now. If ANet thought this was an exploit they would have punished people for it and changed the rules. They have been fast in the past to do so. Since they haven’t, then the people who made the game and set the rules don’t agree with you.
Have I just been awfully unlucky the last couple of days or has the return for ectos been nerfed with this weeks patch? I had 12 level 80 yellows in my bag and got 2 ectos from it -_-
After reading all the posts in this topic, do you think your sample size of 12 is significant enough?
Dunno. I’m only asking if anyone has noticed a difference since the patch or if i’ve been unlucky.
Posts from this thread to answer your question.
Wanze: Here are my numbers for salvaging 1.860 rares since April 1st with MSK:
1609 ectos salvaged 86.5%
1462 upgrades salvaged 78,6%
Zaxares: Had a really good streak over the weekend. Salvaged something like 14 or 15 Rares, got 29 Ectos in total. I think it’s safe to say that the salvage rates have not been touched.
Buttercup: (snip) you know that you can have 15 streaks of nothing and then 15 × 2 or 3 ectos in a row, right?
dAclaW: I salvaged 2 rares and got 6 ectos, the drop rate has actually increased by like a bazillion percent!
In other words, no. No one has noticed a difference since the patch. You were unlucky and RNG is RNG.
And when that’s done, how about redoing the Fellblade so that it looks like the Guild Wars 1 version, instead of a rusty looking blade with smoke coming off of it.
You can only have one attribute stacking bonus at a time. The bonus is lost when you are downed, when you travel to a different zone, or *when you unequip the weapon*.
I am feeling Anet owe us some Upgrade Extractors, because of this new change I have to relocate/change ALL my characters’ weapon setups that are using a Sigil of Bloodlust. Anyone agree with me?
The only difference now is the unequip thing and as the thread already said, you can get around that by having one on an underwater weapon.
Not everyone is upset about the gem store focus, as shown by this thread. Many want even more stuff.
The Chinese and Western versions of gw2 are completely different and will not be together at any time. So if you bought a NA or EU version then you will continue to access the game through that.
Yes.
The trick is u have, for example axe and spear with bloodlust. U equip axe, then u stacking to 25, uneqiup axe and u still have the stacks cuz of rune in ur spear.
Thank you Manczurov and sorrychief for this information. I’ll do that with my ele to solve her problem.
Actually if you keep bloodlust on your aquatic weapons it doesn’t matter.
Huh? What do you mean by that? That if you have one on an aquatic weapon it will hold the stack for you if you unequip then equip?
Nice. Tyvm.
Correct. If you swap, it stays. If you unequip the one with and equip one without, it’s gone. This hits Ele’s the hardest as they can be either ranged or melee and keep their stack but if they try to swap weapons to cope with with a changed situation, they lose their stack. Other professions, including engineers (bombs and grenades), can switch between range and melee weapons without losing the stack.
I happened to check it around 10pm server time yesterday and they were 5 tickets each.
I make characters for key runs and I made them yesterday to get the starting gear. It’s been skippable for me normally. Every once in a while it’s not so I assume it’s a bug.
There was a comment by Dulfy that the chat codes would be posted tomorrow on this page: http://dulfy.net/2013/11/26/gw2-chat-codes/
Your home server is your WvW server. The Megaservers are for PvE only, to combine the low populated PvE maps together. When you are in a Megaserver map, you won’t know if the people on the map are from your server or a different one, unless you recognize them or ask.
I haven’t done the new event yet. At least we can now put in the trait to reduce falling damage before we go in. As for the corruption. I wonder if something like the Lemongrass Poultry soup would help, as well as traiting or putting in utility skills that help with conditions?
Create new character, choose the unique equipment… Delete char. Repeat.
Yah, I did that today. It was great getting and stashing away all the unique starter gear. And the nice part is you can put the profession starter gear on same weight classes. I put an ele’s flame headpiece on my Mesmer and I’m considering a couple of other cross profession looks.
I think it should give the skin name also. If someone asks me about a weapon I have, “meaning what’s the name of that skin?” and I ping it and it has the stats name, that’s not what they want to know.
With 8 level 80s, each with their own assortment of skins, most acquired a year or so back, I might not remember the exact name of a skin to tell them.
Edit: we might be able to ping the skin off the wardrobe though. I would have to check.

Could it have been a ranger’s pet? The ranger could be in a guild with the tag [WW] and have named the owl or raven or whatever “Walter White.” Pets show up with the chosen name and the ranger’s tag.
Ahhhhh. Very good point. (You win an internet cuz I bet you are right)
There is at least one white nameable rangers pet. It’s a Hall of Monuments reward, a white raven. I bet that was it.
The dry bones armor is also in Snowdens.
There is a nice weapons set sold by a heart merchant in Harathi hinterlands, the Modiniir weapons. The staff and trident has a pink/red flame. The scepter has a blue flame. The focus has a purplish glow. Sold by Forward Scout Greta. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Modniir_weapons
And this site here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_karma_merchant_items
Clicking on the weapon name will take you (hopefully) to a picture of it.

(Resists urge to say “you are the only one that has seen this bird”)
Idk. I’ve never seen it mentioned before and it’s not listed in the wiki. It had a [WW ] after it’s name?
Okay, forgive my ignorance here, but the implication then is that Scholar Brogan can activate outside the Svanir Shaman window. If the BOSSES activate in a rotation, does that mean Scholar Brogan sets off on the escort and totem portion of the chain anyway every 15 minutes and 45 minutes after the hour, but the Shaman only appears after the Totem every fourth time?
It would save a lot of confusion if Scholar Brogan only activated inside the Svanir Shaman boss window and just stayed put the rest of the time. Mistaking it for a boss event until after the Totem disappears and you find out you wasted your time is going to be a bummer.
Possibly: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-April-15-2014/first#post3902550
For the jungle wurm
“The event to protect Gamarien as he scouts Wychmire Swamp is no longer part of the Great Jungle Wurm event chain, but it now occurs when the boss event chain is not active.”
For the maw:
“Once the boss is activated, a message will appear in the meta-event UI indicating that a powerful Sons of Svanir Shaman has been spotted in the Maw. If the event chain that involves protecting Scholar Brogun as he investigates the grawl tribe is not active at this time, it will begin immediately.”
“If the event to destroy the dragon totem has succeeded when the boss is not activated, Scholar Brogun will declare victory and return to Krennak’s homestead without fighting the shaman.”
It sounds like Brogan’s event is like Gamarien’s. It can activate and he does his thing independent of the Maw event.

I admit I don’t know didly about programming, but why only one at a time? Why not, for example, 3 at a time: 1 low level, 1 medium level, 1 high level? Or a rolling offset schedule? Or even 2 at a time with both having a rolling schedule so it’s not the same ones each time at that time period?
There are many disadvantages to having only one at a time, as many people here have posted.
Sooo, that’s why that event halted after the totem was destroyed the other night? You have to wait till the boss shows up?? I thought he only showed up after the dragon totem was destroyed. That he was the follow up event.
If this is correct, this event is going to repeatedly fail.
Don’t tell him “no cost” because as a new player he is going to have to EARN every Major trait skill (or buy them). Changing them for free at any time (non-combat) is a great change, but new players are going to have to work a bit for the trait skills to make the builds veteran players take for granted.
Don’t get me wrong, I think the change is awesome and am considering starting a new character myself to test out the system in full (I have an open character slot).
Well, when I said no cost, I was specifically referring to retraiting, as there is no cost to changing the traits that you currently have.
But good point on having to buy them.
Since armor repair and retraiting is free now and you retrait while out playing, experiment with the traits, try different levels of damage, healing and toughness till you find what is best for you.
Even if you got some build from someone, that doesn’t mean it would be the right build for you.
For me it’s an incentive to get most though not all the dyes, (geez too expensive) and to go back out in the world and look at what the heart vendors have for karma outfits to put skins in my wardrobe.
I’m going to also start doing my personal stories to get the reward skins. I had stopped doing them a long time ago.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
you can do what I do: stick them at the bottom of the bank in case they are ever salvageable.
or you can just say ‘to kitten with it’ and delete it and not get that 37s ecto.
I haven’t bought any wvw weapons yet, but I have had some account bound exotics drop that could be used for nothing else, so I collect them and throw them into the MF when I get 4. But you say these can’t be forged, which sounds familiarWhat exotics are you salvaging that you get 37 ectos from 2? I need to come to whatever spot you’re farming.
^^ 37s (silver) ectos.
37 ectos, I wish.
They are not account bound and cannot be account bound as any guildie can have full access to all of it and because the person who made the guild can leave it at any time.
At some point in the future guilds vaults and upgrades may cross server boundaries if you transfer, but not at this time. All upgrades are restricted to the server they were made on (you can still access your guild bank if you guest).
As far as I can tell, ANet wants to limit making gold from sources like karma or badges. (Refer to the chili popper exploit, where people found out how to turn karma into gold. That was quickly removed from the game and suspensions handed out). Since you bought the bows with badges and not gold, if you salvaged them you could get luck, dark matter, ectos and T5 or T6 mats, worth a fair amount of gold. I suspect that this would be too close to an exploit for ANet’s liking and that they will never allow salvaging for this reason.
If so, you might as well delete if you are never going to use them.
You can easily make more now flipping dyes in a day than you can make in a week or more of doing anything pve/pvp wise.
^^
OMG! People making money by flipping dyes are destroying how I enjoy the game.
25% tax on profits on flipping dyes needed! And 1 silver minimum undercut requirements!
Jk ^^
I don’t know why you can’t use townsclothes tonics in combat. You still have your weapon skills, why not the utility skills? And why the super short timer? Why not an hour? The watchwork knight tonic can be used in combat. (It still has that dumb, pointless 5 minute use and 30 minute cooldown though >.>).
Bring back all the headpieces and costumes I didn’t buy because I had no use for them then.
My little Asura guardian is quite cute now in her new Wintersday dress. ^^
This was reported by someone else some time back who had (unhappily) reached the limit. He wanted 128 characters, every possible profession, race and sex combination. (Something like that, it was a long time ago).
Snip
He’s just gonna have to live without those traits because I won’t run him all the Orr!
If you hover over the new traits on the UI, it will tell you that you can buy them and from where.
