Another, probably more relevant reason why OP won’t get his wish occurred to me. If Norns, humans and Asura shared the same hairstyles in common, then they would have 3 times the available hair styles as Charr and Sylvari. The number of choices wouldn’t be equal and people would complain about it. ANet would have to create that many more new hairstyles for those 2 races. And then there would be complaints because those 2 races would have so many new unique hairstyles while the other 3 races have to share old starter hairstyles. No matter how it is done the 5 races can not be made equal.
You just want a Sylvari with a giant afro and huge handlebar mustache. Admit it.
No, of course not. I want a female Charr with a tree branch hairstyle and a huge handlebar mustache. Much more epic.
Thanks for clarifying. Now stuck with a Engineer I don’t care to play.
Make that character into a mule. Most people have 80 slots on their characters. It’s cheaper than buying 2 bank tabs for 60 slots.
This topic was raised quite a few times before the Suggestions forum was trashed. Maybe some kind of poll would help: Would you like to see the login screen from Guild Wars 2’s BWE make a return?
I once emailed ANet about this… It seems that if we get enough attention from the playerbase, they will consider enabling it.
The reply I’ve received:
Hello Kirill,
Thanks a lot for taking the time to share your ideas about Guild Wars 2.I understand you wish the old login screen back. We have found that the best way for the development team to gather and review player feedback and suggestions is through our official forums. We ask players to post their ideas in our Official Forums, within the Suggestions sub-forum located here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions.
Members of the Development Team read the Suggestions Forum daily, and while they usually cannot respond to individual suggestions, the fact that team members can review those suggestions in a public forum helps them gauge the level of interest in a specific idea, and also allows other players to discuss and offer feedback of their own.
This idea has been posted numerous times already over the months. Each time it receives many supportive posts, with no response and no change. So allow me to translate your answer from them for you.
“Scram kid, don’t bother me. Go roll your hoop somewhere else.”
If you buy 2 identical trinkets you can contact support at https://help.guildwars2.com/anonymous_requests/new and make out a ticket. They will send you the trinket with the same stats but the other infusion.
ok, but why dont asura/human/norn all have the same hairstyles?
Particularly norn and human.
I wouldnt mix sylvari at all with any other race. The char hairstyles shouldnt necessarily be limited to charr either(but I think head shape would probably cause issue here)
There are a couple of possible arguments, neither very strong I admit.
One is lore, they are distinct species with their own culture and each culture has it’s own unique hairstyles. The second would be that having all hairstyles in common would cause a certain amount of homogenization.
Like, Sylvari hairstyles on a Charr?
I don’t think your request is going to go very far.
Question: If I delete a character that has a maxed level crafting discipline can I pick that discipline at the same level on another character (for a cost of course)?
No. Each profession is attached to that character and level separately. If you delete that character then you lose all the progress attached to it. For example, I leveled cooking to level 400 on 3 different characters (for the then 10 levels it gave me). Each time I chose cooking I started at the beginning.
I thought the computer would look at our friends and put us in that map. I found a map with a good node layout so I friended a bunch of people from map chat that were doing the FG champ farm on that map. Switched characters and landed in a different shard. I tried zoning in and out, going to character select and back, switching characters, dropping those people off my friends list and nothing worked. From then on I was put on the shard I didn’t want.
We need to be able to flag our accounts for important choices AND the computer needs to give strong weight to these choices.
Funny thing, reading this reminded me to check my connections (I like to clear the list every so often, just in case) and it was showing my only active one as being in TX, US which would be really weird since I’m in the UK and connect to the EU servers.
I deleted it along with all the rest and when I tried to log in again it asked me for email confirmation. Although this time it was showing Milton Keynes, UK which is about as accurate as I could expect it to get.
Apparently is has to do with the server’s IP being registered in Texas and this registration causes that IP to show up.

Hello hash. This is in no way true. The server IP’s were registered in Texas which is why you’re seeing this, however, the data center for EU servers is actually located in Frankfurt, Germany.
Maybe they are testing the waters. They brought back a Wintersday and Halloween costume so far. They might be checking to see the sales they get for the new system.
They can’t guest between NA and EU servers for technical reasons. The account information is stored in one of 2 places, the EU server side or the NA server side. Because the 2 sets of servers are separate, there can’t be guesting between them.
The bazaar is supposed to come back at some time, when is unknown though. You can see if any guildies have the node in their home instance and ask to be let inside to mine it.
Soon? No one knows. What’s coming? Jewel crafting, some hints about legendary jewel crafting. Maybe particle effects. Nothing definite though, there is only speculation at this point. Cooking is a complete unknown.
i dont think it is a bug the wiki is written by players not just the devs so it is possible the wiki could be wrong or have information that is outdated.
This was taken from the wiki:
This globe reflects the passage of time since the Ascension of Kormir, with alterations to show the damming of the Elon River, and apparent changes to the northern coast of Cantha. It does, however, have a few inconsistencies with other contemporary maps, for example not showing the sea formed by the rise of Jormag in the Far Shiverpeaks, or the arctic sea that was the former home of the kodan or even that the world is made of cheddar.I doubt Tyria is made of cheddar. Shows not everything in the wiki is right.
Since the moon is made of green cheese, Tyria could most certainly be made of cheddar. Wiki is correct.
They can track gold easily because it goes straight into your inventory and they can see sudden jumps and tell if you got if from another person or the TP. I’ve never heard of them tracking items and I know people do raffles and giveaways of precursors without problems.
Perhaps Silvercyclone can submit a bug report since it sounds like 3 boosters is not supposed to be an option.
Dhuum was still better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9B6bZSpQHxU
One can never have too much bling.
Scale up Jormag’s Breath to match, that’s the correct answer.
No. Absolutely not. It’s perfect the way it is.
Each item recieved is a entirely serperate roll with BLC I believe, correct me I’d I’m wrong. So it is entirely possible to get three boosters, albeit extremely unlikely and even more so of the same booster. Too bad it wasn’t 1 of each perm contract eh;)
Well, if true then 3 swim boosters wins the bad prize award.
Worse than three Mystery Tonics?
You can use the mystery tonics for the brawl daily, or just to goof around while in a city. Both of which I’ve used them for. They might also possibly be useable in jumping puzzles to get a smaller form (Norn and Charr). So I would say 3 swim boosters are definitely worse. Not worthless, but not as good.

3 swim speed booster
worst key ever.
Only one booster per key. I’ve done a lot of key runs and never seen more than one.
The other two can be any combination of banks, merchants, scraps, tickets, unid dyes, revive orbs, repair canister, trading post, T charges and the occasion rare item such as a total makeover kit.
You can only switch to a different crafting profession to take the place of the one you don’t use. Deletions are not allowed.
If you don’t have it already you should get either the IP authorization or the 2 factor authorization that this game has set up. Either one will stop someone from outside your IP from accessing your account, even if they know your complete login information.
It’s well worth setting up one or the other.
It’s just routing through the servers based in Tx.
An answer from Gaile from a previous thread on this issue: in this thread
Gaile Gray
Hey folks, no worries. There are several routes through which you go to access the game or the forums, and I’m told the forum sometimes throws an access IP from Texas, but that’s you… or us… or you talking with us on the forums. So it’s all good.
It’s a very nice addition to the game. I’m pleased now to get a new skin from a random drop and I’ve even restarted my personal story so I can look over the skins from the vigil, priory and whisper’s vendors. Plus rechecking all the heart vendors, just in case.
Even when you had to pay for armor repair it wasn’t that expensive (11.48 silver for a full level 80 repair). A single repair canister is 70 gems and 300 gems for 5. Current gem prices are 9.18 gold for 100 gems. That means the single canister would cost 6.42 gold and the set of 5 was 5.508 gold per use. With real money, one was $0.87 USD and the set was $0.75 USD per use
If you look at it this way, the canisters were always about convenience and the whether or not there is an armor repair cost doesn’t matter.
Trading post express
Black Lion salvage kit
Kill streak booster
Oooohhh. Ty for the heads up.
Seven level 80 characters, 86% is the most I’ve completed.
This thread kind of motivated me to try again, but I gave up after about two minutes of putting slime into containers for some deranged little Asura in Brisban Wildlands, and went back to dungeon runs.
The sad part is I know exactly what heart you are talking about and where that part of it it is on the map. I’ve been working on area completions, PvE only, and it’s very tedious to do alone. Having someone to do it with you makes all the difference in the world. If you have to solo, it helps a bit to set a timer, maybe half hour or so. It’s easier to keep going when it’s a short, fixed amount of time.
Can the instance owner of a dungeon or fractals do this? How about if there is a long queue time for WvW?
You can put dodge on your mouse 3rd wheel, the scroll wheel, as a click down and not the scroll part. With a little practice that becomes very intuitive.
Orr was supposed to be the end game zone, not Queensdale with its endless champ train. That’s why it has no hearts and has the most events of any zone, (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cursed_Shore) as well as the temple events for people to get obsidian shards and what was then max armor.
ANet expected that people would spend a lot of time there. With the Megaservers the population is probably close to what was intended for that zone.
There’s a lot more nodes in the open world now though and they usually clump together in close proximity now (thanks to RNG).
Whatever are you talking about? Each map has it’s own set of nodes. They haven’t increased the number of nodes per map or merged the nodes from different maps onto one map.
You do know you can buy them straight up for 3 gold and 20 skill points each right?
He did say that people were in chat were saying, “just pay gold noob” so I imagine he does know. But some people would like to earn them by playing the game and not by buying them.
Could this be the ‘game forgets password’ bug? I haven’t heard about it in a month or so. One theory I’ve read is it has to do with a corrupted email password. Another theory is it’s from logging on to the forum from an iPad with a particular IOS that has a bug.
Doesn’t look that similar to me.
Apparent ages are different (Braham looks much younger), hair (or lack of it), facial hair (or lack of it), tattoos not the same.
If you are going by they are both male, then maybe.
9 level 80s, but one is retired and is a mule now. One with 100% map completion and working on a second. The others will probably get 100% PvE at some time. WvW is more problematic.
Speaking for myself, the Megaservers and general PvE is great. Always people around now and doing events. This change is overwhelming positive for me.
But the World Bosses are awful. It’s more like a job now. If it’s reset, then I should be at Shatterer. Then Maw. Then Ulgroth. Fire ele. Karka Queen. And everywhere I go for these, so does EVERYONE else. It’s a massive zerg. At Ulgroth, my char is constantly being tossed around because I can’t see the invulnerable wind things. I can’t even begin to avoid them as they aren’t even visible.
Please, have several bosses spawn at the same time. Give us a choice and break up the zerg. We don’t need a full map to do these events and it ruins them when it’s forced upon us.
I’ve whispered people I don’t know before. Sometimes people ask something in map chat and I answer but it chat moves so fast that the person doesn’t see my answer so I repeat in a whisper. Or else the answer is kind of long and I go ahead and whisper the answer so map chat isn’t taken up with it and we discuss it. Either one of us having restrictions on whispers, and we’ve likely forgotten its there, would be a problem.
I personally don’t mind getting whispers or emails from gold sellers. It’s another chance to report them and get them out of the game. If I was doing something where I didn’t want a whisper from anyone, I would turn it off on that chat for that time.
JS, or anyone else that can, please kill it. With fire preferably, extra crispy and burnt. There’s nothing valuable in this thread.
There never was.
I’ve learned from reading this thread that my enjoyment of the game is terminally impaired because Wanze and people like him have more money than me. That’s valuable because it’s something I was totally unaware of before. It’s good to know that if they strip making money from the TP that I will again be able to enjoy playing.
Off I go to do more farming, something I used to enjoy, crying bitter tears all the while. ;(
Yeah, i basically pay Zommorros, the Prince of Profit, every day, so that he gives poor people like you bad RNG because your bad luck makes me even richer.
I was being sarcastic. ^^
So far this thread has failed to explain how the trading post hurts someone like me, a dedicated farmer. All I’ve seen is statements that is does, refusals to give exact ways it does and a lot of hand waving.

WHY do the shoulders and helms need to be ridiculously huge? He looks
like a child dressed in adult clothing. >.>Child in adult clothing is the perfect way of describing how the scaling makes armor look on male sylvari. I can’t believe ANet still refuses to correct this issue. May just delete my male sylvari due to giving up hope that they would. :\ Their silence on the matter and the issue still persisting shows that they have no intention to correct it.
Such a shame. How can this issue be acceptable to them? Giant boots, shoulders and gloves…
le sigh
When they are outsized like that, it looks comedic rather than intimidating.
Sylvari, the Rick Moranis of Guild Wars 2.
If you put in that you no longer need help then the next person who reads it should close it out. You’ve done what you were supposed to do to close it. It should close soon. If it’s an automatic response you’re getting, that’s just the computer being stupid.
If it continues it may be a bug. You could always report that ticket in a bug report then. I’d give it a few days to sort itself out.

Inventory space held in common across characters sounds interesting, and useful. Because people could use mail as extra storage, probably won’t happen.

Someone else, like you, can post for him. He tells you what to say and you use your account to do so for him.
Kind of bad if you are new or all your friends no longer play, but that’s how they have it set up.
  worst key ever.
