A lot of classes actually do feel over the top right now, Revenant in particular stands out. Not to mention, a lot of games out there are solo versus premade, and those make for some pretty lame games. But hey, lets bury our heads in the sand and pretend the game is fine. I’m sure the expansion is completely balanced and that nothing is wrong.

Get a party. I completed it all myself, other than that final mission. It has too many bugs, and the smallets things can kill you….. I, for example, fell down a small hole and got stuck behind an invisible wall. When I grouped up, 2 died due to mushroom failure.

With respect, I’ve had to run in circles for over 40 minutes before, because the other lanes with as much resources as my own could not get their stuff together. Thats 40 minutes of wasted time and effort, with death, no loot / experience, and dizzyness thrown in.

Dragon Stand, the event before the boss, is a massive example of what not to do. Takes long with most PUG groups, involves running around in circles, and offers no experience or loot from the mobs themselves. I like the zone, but that event is plain silly.

Clearly none of you have fought a champion sniper. Dodged all his fire lines and went in to melee, then bam, backhand to the face and one shot on my warrior… No telegraph or wind up or anything. Besides, its also clear few of you play with high latency.

Just wanted to say… Another game having an even worse grind does not make this one any better… I don’t purchase a product for it to be “less terrible” in certain areas, such as grinding. I buy it because I want it to be better than what its competitors can offer.

Also, you have people literally going afk in CoF with the mouse button tapped down. You lock so much important stuff behind masteries and a lot of people feel like doing stuff like fractals, etc, is pointless without having all the bonuses and collections linked to it.

I don’t care if I can or can’t solo it, what I care about is the fact that I personally find it more frustrating than fun. That combined with the massive mastery grind makes me feels like I’ve wasted my money. If I was playing alone, I would have tried for a refund.

I spent about $60 and got the whole base game to play with. 1, 500 hours of content. I have played the expansion for 3 days and I would already have everything if not for the fact a lot of it is hidden behind an experience bar.

What mastery grind are you talking about!?
Most of the hero points are available after you get the basic movement masteries. They can be unlocked in a matter of a few hours.
If you are to lazy to find the easy hero points yourself, use a guide.

I know where they are, thank you. I’m talking about random nonsense like “Oh you found this hero point? I hope you grinded out Itzel Poison Lore to get it.” Mmm, oh yes, I like my exploration full of experience roadblocks, thats what makes exploration fun.

If a player can handle upgrading a guild all by himself, then there is no reason to take that away from him… I don’t care if it is a glorified party, they could manage it before and now they can’t, the expansion has essentially wasted all their time and effort. They already said it right, it should be “recommended” for 3 players, not a forced requirement.

Fun factor? I give it a well deserved 3. I play solo and a lot of the content requires a bunch of other people to attempt. That, in turn, means I need other people who have grinded as much as I have to get to obscure hero and mastery points around the map.

I’d give it a solid 7 if I not for the grind and the fact that Berserker feels… Pretty bad. But, so far, half of every map is blocked off by a different grind, and now I need to go back and repeat Tyria content another 300 times to unlock the new stuff there… Fun.

Mhmm…. Going back to central Tyria, a place I’ve farmed and finished a million times, because now I have to farm and finish a bunch of new crap thrown into it.

Spending 3 hours in CoF path 1 killing infinitely respawning mobs is so much fun. Or am I meant to go back to the Silverwastes and farm that for another 200 hours?

Personally, I want to explore the new maps. But I cant. Half of each map feels like its locked behind two or three different masteries, and thats going to takes day of grinding. As in, repeating the same stuff. The point of an expansion is to try new things.

Some enemies just seem rather silly. Champions that go invisible and one shot you, snipers that leave fire everywhere, mushrooms that will mob you to death and explode as if it was their purpose in life, etc. I like the content, but solo wise, its overtuned.

A lot of hero points have champions, and those champions either life steal, can one shot, or just have so much health and damage that the time limit is too short… Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve soloed a few… But its clear this was not meant with solo in mind.

Edit: Plus, I should not need a seperate set of gear just for open world map completion, etc. What do you expect me to do, craft a third set of ascended for my main?

Are you talking about me? Because I seriously doubt you have Updraft Use, Bouncing Mushrooms, Itzel Poison Lore (with is tier 4…) and Exalted Markings yet. All these things block you from exploring a map, and there is 0 way to get around them.

I dont like it. There is little point to exploring unless you unlock most of the masteries, as lord knows a good chunk of them are hidden behind mastery related mechanics.

Both are my least favourite fights. At least when someone gets murdered on Mai Trin, I don’t have to die as a result. Veteran Ice Elementals are going to be brutal now.

Not to mention, Mai Trin was already a long fight with the average PuG. If you want to fix bugs, thats fine with me, but can you make the kitten thing not take 15 minutes?

I just want the robots, and a teams ability to murder them in 3 minutes.

Edit: Don’t pretend its always down to skill, either:

Ice Elemental can teleport you to the center of the map and force you to pull 3 mobs. Mai Trin cannons can hit you outside the circles, and they can surround you.

If you’re talking to me, i wasn’t either generalising nor referring specifically to the farmers. a lot of the toxicity seems to be directed towards you guys/us, and i know even the ones who are toxic are not a majority nor representative. Perhaps i could have phrased it better.

Nah, I don’t mean anyone in particular. As someone who has an interest in threads like this, I typically find them full of people looking down on farmers and all that.

Legendaries are not some shiny toy that everybody gets as a participation award, Legendaries are a very difficult and hardcore thing to obtain, and a big part of that is dedicating yourself to completing certain content

Tell that to my friend who came back to GW2 after 2 years and got Spark off a world boss. He has less than 1000 achievement points and barely plays the game… Getting a legendary is expensive or luck based, there is nothing hardcore about it at all.

Why not just sell the legendaries themselves? I always hated dungeon selling, as the people buying it did nothing to actually earn the rewards. Legendary armor will mean absolutely nothing if any fool with X amount of gold can come along and buy it.

I don’t play the class, but I don’t need to play the class to know that their damage, burning and might stacking were never the problem. The problem has always been their sustain, enough to sometimes even hold a 1 v 2 depending on the classes involved. By all means, they can blow me up, thats fine, just let me return that damage in kind.

As someone who is constantly doing this farm, you are completely in the right. We get trolls and new players a lot, but as long as you don’t go out of you way to ruin the farm, then its completely fine. People just get a bit cancerous when someone gets in the way. Personally I wish everyone was more respectful, but thats too much to ask. : \

Also, no need to be rude to farmers. A lot of us are pretty nice people you know. We just go where the gold goes, and with Halloween around the corner, thats Trick or Treat bags. Gold is the currency of the game, and chasing it does not make you a jerk… =S

I always have and will continue to hate RNG. First of all, I can never measure my progress or say “I’ve come that much closer to my legendary today” simply because I have no way of actually knowing that… I constantly feel like I’m never getting the stuff that my friends are getting, and I really hate that feeling. I loathe the current precursor system.

I play SPvP for the player versus player, not the cannon versus player. That thing is so strong that you are mandated into fighting over it, and when you take it, some kitten of a Guardian comes along and immediately punts you off. Its a gimmick of a map.

Fast Hands needs to be baseline. Then I can finally justify going into Tactics for Leg Specialist. I’m still not entirely sure how people use GS / Hammer without Leg Specialist honestly, its so important. I guess they are just far better warriors than myself.

Yeah, less tomes of knowledge, more useful stuff. I would also appreciate more gold and karma from SPvP, as it lags so far behind PvE that its not even funny… I mean, they want people to play it, and I’m sure more people would if it was actually worth doing.

I wanted to test Reaper in AoE situations, so I could check out my sustain and damage rates. I struggled to pull enough enemies together to even get a general idea. I stopped bothering with the beta as it does not reflect what the difficulty will be like.

I do think you guys are taking it in the L2P direction a little too far though, I must say. I have a sensitive keyboard for example, and holding the button down a moment too long or pressing it too hard is often considered pressing it twice. It does not need a cooldown, it just needs to properly register when it has actually been actively pressed twice.

So your argument against it being a l2p issue is “I don’t have good enough control over my keyboard so I want to nerf this thing for every other necromancer”. A half second delay is massive, we’ve argued over .25s delays on abilities before because it is a massive feel difference.

Thats fair enough. Like I said, I’m Australian, I deal with worse on every skill. Obviously to someone who is not in the same situation, it would probably feel quite different.

I don’t know if its the same thing, but I’m getting a ‘Queue Abandoned, you have been removed from matchmaking and must queue again’ error. I’ve tried that, logged in and logged out, left the zone, etc. This happened after I played Reaper in beta SPvP.

It certainly would not matter in PvE unless you are trying to optimize everything about your damage, in which case I would say you are playing the wrong class.

Are you implying that a half second self-daze isn’t a big deal because, eh, you’re probably not doing that great anyway?

In PvE? Absolutely. I’m not trying to be rude about it or anything, I mean I love my Necro in PvP, but in PvE that are far and away from being in a great place… Having said that, the change to Corrosive Poison Cloud was massive step in the right direction.

I said the same thing a while ago, and sadly got shot down. I don’t think its that harsh a nerf to the flash in and out playstyle because really, whats .5 seconds or even 1 second? That is nothing. It would also be a massive quality of life improvement in SPvP… At the very least, this could easily be a class specific option you could toggle.

I personally dont like that, when you get something under 50%, your entire rotation basically becomes GD spam. I’d like a little less power there and have it spread out a bit. I also think regular auto attack speed could go up a bit, considering how slow it is.

All of that is completely fine. The issue most players have is that legendary armor will be dropped from raids, which you have said yourself is going to be excluding players. People do not like being gated from progressing their characters in such a way.

The rewards are not as good as in pve, but thats not what competitive game parts are made for imo.
But comming back to karma, what is missing? I am honestly interested.

The point I was trying to make is that, while we get access to the same stuff (for the most part), the amounts are way off. I can get out of a 10 minute Tequatl run what would take a good hour or two in PvP. The values don’t have to be the same, they just need to not be so laughably one sided. Besides, karma will have a lot more uses in the expansion.

PvP has terrible rewards. I’ve been saying that for years. A game of PvP takes a good 10-20 minutes and gives you, at best, a few greens and a handful of silver. I can run CoF path 1 in 7 minutes for about 10x reward and half the time investment. Besides, karma is going to be a lot more useful in HoT it would seem, so yeah, would be nice to have.

My only issue with the current system is that it does not reward points to bunkers. I provide one of the most important roles in the game, by holding a point in 1 v 1s and 2 v 1s. Doing this, however, almost always means I’ll have the least points contribution. Most of the time thats fine, but sometimes people will try and blame you for a loss.

Lets not forget that more people selling the dungeon means less people for you to actually group up and run it with. Arah was already difficult to get, this made it worse if you actually want to do it the intended way… The PvP track is not an excuse for it to be acceptable either, by the way, as that still a huge time and effort investment.

I think you missed the point. I was fine with Elementalist damage, might… Everything really. The only issue I ever had with them in the first place was their sustain. They can have all the damage they want, so long as you can kill them just as fast.

While I do agree that harassment and what not are all terrible, there is a block function if something is being a kitten directly to you, or even just a kitten in general.
