To paraphrase Braveheart, Fight and you may die. Don’t log into WvW and you will live, at least awhile. And dying in your bed in Lions Arch many years from now, would you trade all the days from this day to that, for once chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they will never take our Borderlands!
I’m not targeting the players of WvW when I say the following, but rather the game mode the devs are trying to make:
I’d rather stay in bed in Lion’s Arch will all my PvE accomplishments lining the walls than try to fight in a half-baked Sto’vo’Kor that tries to be both game modes and yet is really neither.
So yes the other servers can take my Borderlands.
Yes I remember, but how many humans are going to walk into the Black Citadel to fight? Anyways my thought just came from how will Ebonhawke expand in later parts of the Living Story.
>that feel when your race’s biggest hero is either emo lesbian or pathetic necro who twirls greatsword around like a 5 year old.
Strongest allies or at least a loyal rival.
I just suddenly had a wonderful thought, or possibly reignited the downfall of humanity.
If there’s ever a dueling mini-game or something to that effect I could see Ebonhawke as THE place to do it.
You’ve got Charr and Humans willing to scratch that violent itch, but not ruin the peace. Proxy fights for entertainment would be awesome. It could get aggressions out and might even bring some people or Charr together.
Repeatable missions that you can only get if you join one of the Orders.
This way it at least encourages people to complete part of the personal story while rewarding those who have trudged on through.
The Inner Light (From – Star Trek: The Next Generation)
You. You are a good person.
Thank you, I might actually buy the flute at some point for this.
For those that don’t care much for Fractals there’s back items and a mini.
only 30 more points until I get that delicious sweet chest!
I best work on some achievements.
I wonder if Picard’s Flute song from Inner Light would work on this?
I love that place, but I sometimes get so sad seeing all those chests laying around locked forever.
I took the time to rip off all the propaganda posters, got an achievement for it, very sweet. I too love the area as my Human and my Charr. The anger, desperation, and fear of the future really does show in the populace.
I’m glad the peace will give us a respite, because honestly these separatists need to have their heads kicked in.
>That feel when she left for a Sylvari with a bigger mushroom
Agreed, I feel that the Living Story is going in a fun and good direction with this.
Joke is on you if the Fractal turns everyone into human for that fight.
My suggestion is more focused on those you cannot purchase, create, or acquire by Dungeon/NPCs/recipes.
(edited by Atlas.9704)
I believe this game would benefit from a sigil/rune exchanger NPC to help those that have stacks of minor or even major quality.
Yes some of these you can purchase by dungeon NPC or various other NPCs littered throughout the map, but we do have some that are only obtainable via drops/chest.
The NPC could take in a fixed number of minor for a major. If the developers want to also include a fixed amount for majors to superior that would be interesting.
This would impact the game in many ways and benefit players who:
-Have multiple stacks in their storage they aren’t using
-Those who go adventuring and will now have another reason not to throw away the blues and greens they accumulate.
-Want to have more opportunities in the Trading Post. Could you imagine the revenue generated for them when they sell or buy all these?!
There are downsides as well, but that’s the trade off for everything here. We will have a glut of Superior or Major quality runes/Sigils but that would allow the minor qualities to grow in value. The best way to get them? Go kill mobs or explore jump puzzles of course!
With the new blog talking about ways to make blues and greens worth it again via increased chances of getting magic find this would also help increase their value.
If we only allow the ones that can’t be bought via dungeon or other NPCs into this list that at least gives players a shot at earning all of them, even if it is a round a bout fashion.
You guys say “go off exploring” when you have multiple 80s, and probably hundreds or over a thousand hours played. Honestly, whats left to explore? Are you really finding those nook and crannies hidden in the game?
Yes actually, well at least I do.
I have one character for each profession.
Out of those I have two who are level 80, only one finished the Personal Story.
The lowest leveled character I have right now is a Thief at 35.
When my main 80 finished the personal story I went back and tried to get map completion.
Note this doesn’t mean I went and explored, I simply hit every POI/Vista/WP/etc.
Now I look back at him and think two things:
1. I really want that enemy garrison WP and the PoI in WvWvW for map completion
2. I should have slowed down with him.
My secondary 80 just obtained it by cooking and running around the map killing things.
I didn’t really take in the story or scenery. He’s now my kitchen slave lol.
Now going to my Thief, I use him and the other non 80s for dailies.
A few days ago I had him in the Grove and Caledon area because of the Jungle Vet counter for dailies.
After accomplishing it, I stopped and had him listen to the NPCs. I followed random runners to spots and watched their dialogue.
Then I went and talked with as many as I could.
That’s when I realized, holy heck this area is beautiful.
Houses are built from the plants, everyone is so open and asking about life, and the Nightmare Court really does scare them.
I guess that’s why I can “just enjoy” the game. I finally learned to stop and look around.
I still do the Living Story stuff, I just don’t want to rush through it like I used to.
I dont have any RL friends that play. My guild is dead and its the only guild Ive enjoyed since playing Gw2.
I can see how that would present a problem. The guildies I mentioned in my previous post are folks I teamed with over in Paragon City for many years. I have one long-term online gaming friend (goes back to 2002 and Mechwarrior IV Mercs) that still plays GW2, but he mostly does WvW.
If not for them… I don’t know. I’d probably still play, but nowhere near as much.
Mechwarrior 4, good game! I tip my hat to you and your pal.
Humanity will rise again! Every filthy charr animal will be Exterminated. Salads will be made, ears will be crushed and ale will run dry! Charr cubs will be thrown from the walls of EbonHawke! Glory to the MASTER race!
Don’t touch my Asuran buddies, even though they do call me bookah!
Maybe it just means different tiers of crafting materials will be rewarded.
A lower champ (like oak) in Queensdale could drop a Tier 1 or 2 rare, but the bigger guys in Orr could drop T5 or T6 rare more often?
I just better not lose my achievement tiers for all that crafting I did.
I’m only 50 points away from the 5K chest!Other than that this looked interesting. I’m not going to be hopping around giddy until I see something more like patch notes for things.
By the time they implement it you would have already gotten the chest, unless it was sarcasm I what you said doesn’t make sense.
Actually it was pure concern. Most of the Achievements I can strive for now are either weapon based or slayer based. Since I don’t play for countless hours I tend to accumulate points at a slower pace compared to my previous gaming hours.
Even if I do get the points for the chest, I still would be bummed out if they went and altered the tier. I like seeing all those pretty completed bars on my crafting achievements.
I think my best case scenario would be them adding in a new achievement for crafting items in the 500 level, thus leaving the other one alone.
Kryta will get their day.
That is all.
That confirms it: Anise as the new Human Queen!
Thanks!
To all PvErs, this should get you into WvW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tX6-gZw2tog#at=34
Credit to [Boom] on Seafarer’s Rest!
17 seconds into the video and now I don’t even want to install TeamSpeak because of this.

Based on the twitch video from yesterday, they plan on doing something with Personal Stories again someday. At the moment Living Story is the story of the game overall and takes place after the Personal one.
I hope they do give us another chapter to the Personal Story someday.
Evon’s company denies us free proper trade.
Back in GW1 if someone had something worth to sell, someone bought it, and that seller got 100% of the money.
Now there’s taxation thanks to this Charr.
Down with taxation!
Occupy Lion’s Arch (we already do most of the time anyways lol)
Quaggans support Kiel, all arguments are irrelevant now.
Ellen has a chance on the swimsuit round, but otherwise I support Evon all the way.
If there were such a round I would quickly change channels before Evon shows up in his.
Evon would win the swimsuit round in his “Faren trunks”. Nuff said.
Thanks, I didn’t need to eat anyways.
BUWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gallifrey RISES!
Sorry, that’s the first thought that came into my head.
Ellen has a chance on the swimsuit round, but otherwise I support Evon all the way.

Leave my cute floppy eared friends alone! Er—I mean I want to see the Reactor before it blew up, if it means taking down some Inquest that’s fine with me. I just don’t want to see the eradication of the Asura.
voting for kiel is difficult when you played the original guild wars
Played GW Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, EoTN and I’ll still vote for her.
We all agree that Kasmeer is more interesting that Kiel, but the protagonist is still Kiel.
I…I love them both.
I thought they said these coins were drops?
So play WvW, get coin drops, then vote.
Simple!
War…war never ends for the Charr.
Our names rhyme with war, if it were to go “Warrrrr” or something to that effect.
It never ends for us.
As much as I don’t want to admit it, yes I do.
I actually want to play solo at some parts of the game.
Some of it has to deal with this need to discover stuff on my own.
Also I’m not too sociable on chat when put on the spot light.
When I’ve PUG’ed for dungeons sometimes folks automatically say “get on mumble” then I feel bad when I tell them I don’t have it. It wouldn’t make sense for me to take that time to install it, find their channel, and then play only to leave that group and possibly never play alongside them again.
That’s why I usually play in roles like a healing Guardian or something where I can be in the group, kill the mobs, and they handle the higher thinking.
Most importantly I don’t want to burden people on my gaming schedule. That’s why I play alone. The times I ever group up (dungeons) I’ve found some time to squirrel away to dedicate just on that event and then I move on.
When I’m doing dailies or just faffing about I sometimes stop to take care of something at home. Then I’ll come back and continue until some other emergency needs me. I can’t ask someone to hold on and stop having fun when I have to deal with my pets or something. That isn’t fair to them.
Plus sometimes when I group folks tend to ask about builds (I hardly know what I’m doing with mine) or they like to gripe about drops or an event (which I tend to let it roll off my back and don’t care) so I don’t contribute much to conversations.
Kiel is promoting BAD lifestyle choices!
Think about it a cheaper way points are going to cause mass laziness due to the fact that players will be teleporting around Tyria. Backsides will be getting bigger by the week. Armour will no longer fit and you will be reduced to wearing tin foil lined moo moo’s, with a selection of hideous coloured dyes, Not to mention the lag due to the increasing weight of the population.
Jumping puzzles ? you can forget those with a butt that big!
Exhibit A.
But I like big butts, and I cannot lie. You other brothers can’t deny.
Sure you do, and just to let you know kiel dont have one even if she does dont think youll ever be able to touch it buddy so keep dreaming. now if you vote for Evon on the other hands you might get a chance to touch that butt by making a deal with Gnashblade, money is a very unique thing and it makes many things possible.
#TeamGnashblade.
The idea of touching Gnashblade made me lose my lunch.
IoJ’s Queensdale is rather friendly.
Sure you have the groups that run through the champs, but also there’s plenty of folks helping out with Spider Champion and the Bandit Skillpoint.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard our folks gripe about a circuit being broke, now grumping about Troll down before they could get to it or missing Behemoth that’s different.
The idea of the races breaking off to kill each other kind of goes against the established story for GW2.
The one where the races come together and fight the Dragons.Well, not really. Each race has their own antagonist counterparts: Norn – Sons of Svanir,
Asuran – Inquest ect.I’m not a fan of faction warfare (which would ultimately lead to a) open-PvP and b) complications when it comes to WvW), but I’d just though I’d point that out.
Yeah I know of the renegade factions, but I was against ixon’s idea of say Asuran and Humans fighting Charr.
Backsides will be getting bigger by the week.
So what you’re saying is a vote for Kiel is a vote for more Norn women badankadonk?
Kiel for Council it is!
I wonder what kinds of things would happen if you mixed the Mists with chaos energy…
Kormir’s spirit goes Super Sonic and destroys the WvW Battlegrounds?
Oh wait wrong chaos, never mind!
Treze! A question from the New Krytan Gazette: Will you work towards removing PvE from WvW if you are on the Captain Council?
Good question!
For sure my friend!
In my administration we will only pick minerals to throw at each other. Wood will be effective only to burn enemies towers.
Centaurs will be used to ride against your foes.
Instead of xp points you will be rewarded for the amount of blood in you armor.
And this is just the beginning!
As long as I don’t need to map out WvW for map completion you have my attention.
Trahearn – God of things not ending well
Treze! A question from the New Krytan Gazette: Will you work towards removing PvE from WvW if you are on the Captain Council?
or I could support the more interesting character who would probably shake the living story up better than the former.
Yeah, the choice is obvious to me.
So you mean the Laurel Merchant? Because other than establish the Marketplace, Evon himself hasn’t done much of anything. I don’t see what is so interesting about an overblown merchant.
The problem would be those who didn’t have GW1 characters would be out of luck.
If you want to hear about the Fall of Abbaddon you have GW1 and Orr.
Abandon Abaddon!
The Gods are dead, we must forge our own futures.
Kill the Dragons, use Asuran tech and magic along with Charr Iron, Sylvari curiosity, Human sweat, and Norn bravery to change the world!
So to help with the system you want to keep adding more corruption to the system? Wow you Evon supporters have some strange logic.
The Council should have never added Yomm to the seat all those years ago, look at the precedence it caused.
The idea of the races breaking off to kill each other kind of goes against the established story for GW2.
The one where the races come together and fight the Dragons.
If I want factions fighting each other I’ll play WvW.
Even the PvE Living Stories give me battles where sections of a race (or a collaboration) try to fight the established order.
I curb stomp them and continue with my adventures.
