Kiel stopped the villain of Southsun, with our help, while Evon simply sold the merchandise of the Consortium in his stores.

She wanted to help the settlers, Evon would just as happily leave them in their slavery contracts.
Also as a Guardian I respect the fact she was out there dealing with the threat at the island. These reduced waypoint costs will help us mobilize people into action across all of the map.

Voting for Kiel not only benefits Lion’s Arch, but all of Tyria.
From a OOC player perspective I really want to see the reactor before it went kablooey anyways.

While it is true the Dragons seem to have knowledge of the cultures of these races, I still believe they are more of a force of nature than a force of evil.
From their perspectives we are probably nothing more than ants. Sure we obviously build things of note to us, but that isn’t of the slightest interests to them.

Now is that evil from our PoV? Well yes because we see them as evil, but they are just doing their own thing. Would this mean I side with them? Nope because I will do anything to protect my culture.

Match fixing happens in real life and for most they go unpunished.
So for some in the group who were willing to “help” other get the achievement.
I’m sure for most players got the AR JP achievements via a mesmer portal even though i’m sure the “intended” way was to do it yourself.

I agree with some of what you said, minus the JP logic.
Jump Puzzles, by their definition, are puzzles and not a competitive minigame.
So yes probably the “correct” way is to do it yourself, but it isn’t really comparable to something like this or Keg Brawl.

If they can a strong Norn like you can fight them off!

I like how they are breathing some life into the Utopia concepts for GW2.
Companies do this type of stuff all the time. Maybe a character idea or setting just doesn’t work well with the established title, but when making something new (either for the title or just a new one itself) certain gems can be uncovered in the dust of history.

I would love to see more Mayan/Incan/Atzec influences in this game.

I’ve seen this with Keg Brawl, Crab toss, and now this race game.
Some people forget these are PvP events. You might not be killing people, but you are competing against them.
Yes this is a helpful community, but that doesn’t mean we should eschew from trying to win in a game mode that is deliberately set for this.

This isn’t PvE, which I wholeheartedly love because of its cooperation and need for it. Now if there was the ability to join these events with only friends, I could see the charm in throwing the race to help a friend out and rotate out the “winners”.

Problem is these can’t be joined that way possibly due to such thought.
These are competitions, I don’t go into a PvP place like WvWvW and hope the other server folks don’t roflstomp me as I explore a map. I wouldn’t expect people to throw a race or crab game if its a random join.

Addendum: Also to those that take up offense at the idea of trying to win first place by actually winning. Then I think you came into that minigame under the wrong pretenses. You are seeing it as nothing more than an achievement to tick off the list you have. This is a competitive game. These two ideals won’t work together unless you actually compete to achieve your goal.

I ran across Gulik Oddson at Killeen’s grave in Fields of Ruin the other day. I haven’t read the GW2 novels, but his dialogue heavily implies that he was romantically involved with Killeen, making it a Norn-Sylvari relationship.

I read it and Killeen was a nice and sweet Sylvari who did everything she could for the group. When the Branded came she stood tall and fought as best she could until her end.

Gulik Oddson lost a cousin, Gyda Oddsdottir, thanks to Dougal Keane’s expedition to Ascalon City. He met Killeen while hunting in the Caledon Forest. They were good friends, but not a couple in the romantic sense. So I think his comment was more about losing yet another person close to him than being close to her.

As a player in a US server all I can say is you are still going to find that here. Sorry buddy.

To be honest there isn’t much. Though I think ArenaNet should do a couple of things to make it better for WvWvW players by divorcing the PvE aspects from it.

Remove the repair bills, remove the requirements to explore it for map completion, remove the Badges of Honor requirement for PvE Legendaries, remove the barely helpful ‘benefits’ to the server for winning points, and just have them own up to the fact this is an open world PvP match.

The devs are trying to force this game mode as an in-between mode but it doesn’t work like that now. This really doesn’t have any lore to it. The only thing I found about it was this is the never ending battlefield in the Mists or something to that effect.

Just strip all the PvE things from it and keep it what it should be: Players beating up one another. That way the PvP players don’t have to deal with the ‘carebears’ that ‘clog up the queue’ and we PvE’rs don’t have to endure the yammering these guys do about ‘bleeding for our server’ or some such mess.

Now I do try to give the game mode a fair chance. However the elitist player attitude, this doesn’t mean everyone just a select few, does sour the game mode. When my server’s home lands are attacked I’ll probably spend more time defending that than some Battleground. I don’t PvP well so I stick to building sieges and repairs. If I do get some blueprints because of rewards, I usually give them to the more hardcore guys because I sure as heck won’t use them!

Make it easier for the PvP to shine through: equipping traits should be free and repairs non existent. These hardcore WvW guys don’t want to hold their nose in PvE world to get money so they can fix their shirts so why should we have to deal with them?

Then I saw the little guys and darn it they are adorable!
Also I planned on making at least one of every race anyways, but these guys were made just after I made my humans. So they were second place in my heart.

One player guild here as well and overall I enjoy it.
Sure if there’s a dungeon I want to try I’ll join up with folks or run around and do group events, but I barely chat and when I’m done I leave quickly.

I don’t chat well in this game most of the time. Small amounts (one to four lines) is fine, but past that it turns into me not playing the game and using this more like a chat room.

No I don’t use TeamSpeak or Mumble either, at least not for this game.

Any of the order Light armor chest pieces would look nice, probably whispers would work best since there’s less midrift. Priory seems to focus more on the chest with how the fabric looks, I’d put that in second place.

When I went back to Claw Island with my first character (a norn that picked the Vigil), I thought I would face undead Forgal. Of course, I was happy that it never happened, but it would have made sense. Since Sylvari can’t be corrupted, Sieran wouldn’t be able to come back as undead, but that would make sense for Forgal and Tybalt.
I hope it never happens, though

Usually I’ll hop onto my storage bank guild unless a nearby group needs bodies for the guild mission.

But if they somehow escaped (seems unlikely, but…), it would be so good to have them in our Home Instance! We should go in a mission to rescue them at some faraway island where they ended up after being thrown in the sea by the dragon (yes, this should totally have happened in Claw Island because of reasons). They would look at us and say “What took you so long, kid?”, “Ohh I knew you would find me! This is so cherry!” and “If it isn’t my best buddy! Did you bring me some apples?”.

1. The mini games like brawling or shooting gallery, the ones that NPCs talk about, are not available. Heck I’d even settle for a Sylvari dueling arena like that one couple talked about in the Grove!

2. There’s no real reason to play in the “middle” areas anymore after hearts and Personal story. Give us a big event like the Sky Pirates near Mount Maelstrom, or have a huge storyline event in the Centaur territories. Just randomly placing holograms or gift boxes on the map isn’t the same.

3. Stop using Lion’s Arch as the meeting area for all these events. One thing Flame and Frost did right was use Black Citadel and Hoelbrak for something! Have a Asura themed story and the place to be is in Rata Sum, heck ANet you did that for SAB!
I hardly go to the Grove or Divinity’s Reach that much anymore.
