These types of people are probably irreversibly conditioned by the variable ratio reward schedules that the MMO genre has created over the past decade. Their brains are almost hardwired to expect reward. Similar to a heroin addict.

Which is really a sad thing because that means all those people who came to GW2 to get away from behaviors like that only get subjected to them even more.

The sad thing is some gamers are conditioned like that with online RPGs.

I echo the WvW sentiment.
PvE players should not have to deal with it, much like WvW players shouldn’t have to deal with exploring 95% of a map they may never use.

Logan goes along with the plan, Anise does as well, Rox and Braham stay silent and ashamed, Trahearne begs to die because he can’t live with this. You are given a choice to either keep quiet or the mesmers will rip out your memory.

As for the ashes, I just loved doing the mission and giving them to lowbies who constantly died attempting it back in the day.

We’ve already done our first limited beta test in China, with future tests planned to help prepare the game for release with our incredible partner there, Kong Zhong. To prepare the game for its eastern release, we’re building a new comprehensive “level zero” optional tutorial that teaches the core basics of the game. We’re also adding new story steps at levels 5 and 10 to help better teach core mechanics as players grow. We will also be adding a much better hints system, and a new level-up messaging system all to better teach the game.

All of these systems will be added to the game not just in the east, but to help future new players in the west as well.

I better stop with that thought before I get too interested in this idea.

Exploration, PVE, altoholic, and overall drifter.
Three ambitions I hope to see:

1. Remove WvW maps from map completion. Give the PvE guys something different instead (like Jump Puzzles) and give the WvW guys something more substantial (like hold the big castle at least once).

2. Add in new Dynamic events that aren’t tied to a Living Story. Make them permanent. If you have to make them part of the Living Story then at least keep them in there after that chapter is done. “Due to the Queen’s Jubilee, the Centaurs have taken advantage of the lull in activity nearby. They are tearing stuff up in new events! Oh now the Jubilee is over, we still have those events going but extra Seraph NPCs are around to reflect that the celebrations are over and people are back at work.”

3. Award people that complete a certain Achievement Point level some consumable which unlocks all the WPs for an alt, but not the Poi or Hearts. This way people could finish the map easier with the alts, or at least partake in things quicker.

I wouldn’t have expected Master’s quality, maybe Journeyman.
Though I do see the potential for it, I tend to go deep in maps away from merchants and the inventory tends to fill up with items I want to salvage. When I don’t have a kit, I have to trudge back and get one.

No I won’t WP just for a kit. Chances are I won’t use actual money for the gems on this, but I’ll use my in game gold.

However I would just utilize you as muscle for my experiment.
