That warrior is really really really really bad. Doesn’t do a thing without Skullcrack
A few suggestions, hope it helps
1. Not enough damage. Grab a sigil of doom if healing signet is the problem, it’ll help alot.
2. Drop the healing power and pick up zerker for your ammys 2x cavaliar for rings if needed
3. Drop your runes (not sure why you go 3 water 3 soldier) and get boon duration/scholar/ruby/ogre/divinity or anything dps worthy.
4. Go 0/20/0/20/30
5. Get Knights with a mix of Valkyrie/zerker gear
6. Save aura, armour of earth when he switches to mace and nuke when he goes gs.
7. Maybe Arcane wave/blast instead of mistform. Damage is crucial
7. Change elite
lel, is this guy for real… If you dont bring a stun-breaker, be prepared to get stunned no matter how ‘good’ you are (spamming aoe around you doesnt take much skill btw). I too would like to run triple arcane utils s/d on my ele, but considering the current stun meta, i’ll be a complete idiot to rely purely on my overconfidence to dodge right?

0/20/20/0/30 or 0/10/30/0/30: rifle-m/s for the lols. Basically mace stun, volley, rifle butt or kick. Then 2 and start kiting till the mace stun up again. Unsuspecting foe will give you around a 8-10k volley and 8k+ killshot.
Condition builds are a joke on ele. I strongly suggest you do not buy gear for it

Mesmer:
-Reverse the greatsword damage mechanic – more damage closer, less further away, risk/reward
-Speed up scepter 1 autoattack
-Scepter autoattack should apply a bleed on third auto chain
-Scepter 2 should always hit the target only if the target you have selected hit you
-More access to swiftnessElementalist:
-Buff conjures.
-Armour of earth CD to 60 seconds
-Lower damage of lightning strike and electric discharge by 10%
-Dust devil instant cast
-Reduce arcane wave/blast damage by 20%, then give them the benefits of elemental surge, while giving elemental surge a cooldown reduction trait instead.
-Reduce attunement CD by 1 second.
Warrior
-More telegraphed skull crack
-Fix para sigil
-Lower the amount of signet of healing by some degree.
PERSONAL OPINION ON THAT ISSUE: Make it more active, it’s so passive and boring right now but so good. Slash it’s base healing to half, but then make it heal more over time temporarily if you successfully use adrenalin via skills on a target.
-Fix zerker stance to reflect tooltip (-100% condi reduction)
-Can double use the same adrenalin pool (mainly longbow)
Thief
-Pistol auto damage boost
-Pistol 2 rehaul (gets imob according to leak)
-CnD aftercast reduced, damage lsightly buffed.
-Flanking/larcenous 10-15% damage reduction, flanking required to get larcenous
-Shadow trap active removed
-Initiative price increase for infiltrator’s return, reduce range to 900
-Infiltrator’s strike should require LOSAll in all, great list, please take note developers.
Nice nerfs to the ele. This is the problem… another individual who cant deal with a certain build (burst s/d I assume) and asks for nerfs all builds use.
Seriously? Let me go through some of your ‘improvements.’

Firstly, who uses that trait? going 30 in arcana is only for evasive arcana. Secondly, 20% reduce in damage? Another direct nerf to the s/d burst. 20% damage decrease will completely make them obsolete and give the eles another bunch of useless utilities. I strongly suggest you go out and try the ele.
-Reduce attunement CD by 1 second. : Yep, ok thats cute.
I also see you main the mesmer. I don’t play one, but they all look like proper buffs – try remain neutral if you’re going to make a video like this. And the suggestion to nerf the healing signet by 50% but increase healing if you use adrenaline. Firstly, with the average of 400/s, 200/s will completely put the warrior back at the bottom. Why not improve poison? Improve poison duration and maybe cut healing under the effects of poison for 40% from 33%.
Sorry for the minor rage, but with the ele needing so much help in pvp atm, these ‘balance suggestions’ put me off big time.
It’s because most of the community cant be fuqed with anything challenging and simply want the handout loots. I say, Anet- let these people farm their champs all day for nothing but virtual currency, and introduce raids 20-30 man (100+ is too many) for those wanting a true gaming experience. Of course, make it a guaranteed 2-3 exotics for each kill in a raid. Seriously cannot find the logic behind rewarding ’WP, land a hit, loot, WP, land a hit, loot."
And what if this is the solution to the zerker crisis? Support will be needed regardless of how bad it is in pve. Running pure zerker in a 20-30 man raid should not work. I hope.
I haven’t quit yet, but I’m taking a long break and plan to only pvp/wvw when I finally reinstall. Reasons for leaving:
1. Community changed. After the recent patches from August, gw2 is nothing but farm and accumulating enough gold for a legendary, ascended and whatever. Seriously, I log on and I only see ‘FE 4 min, lf 2m ac speedclear, Teq up in TC.’ The game I played 7 months ago is no longer existent and the conversations and interactions within, come down to mere farming.
2. Grind. I started the game loving gear progression. I wanted the gear, I wanted to base my goals around stats, I wanted to own with an unfair advantage, I wanted to grind those dung, bosses for rewards. but after a few weeks I learnt what GW2 was REALLY about and truly enjoyed what the game had to offer. Despite having full ascended trinkets for 3 characters, I really enjoyed just playing the game for a good 4-5 months until Anet finally gave in to the addicts who play 8-10 hours wanting gear grind. Just disappointed.
3. Class imbalance. I main-ed an ele, and Anet has failed all of us elementalists. We’re broken in almost all aspects of the game, but Anet has continued to ignore. It’s either the devs are extremely ignorant, disregarding all ele forum posts or are extremely incompetent. Nerfing is not the solution anymore, improve other classes. Revert the ele back to its original state last year.
4. Overpowered AIs. This is not a problem in pve, but in pvp/wvw, when a build have AIs doing 70% of the work… there is a problem. Common examples: MM necro, spirit ranger.
Bet it’s (3). Once they somehow magically find a way to nerf zerker, that’s when people start quitting
lol, you must run a support guardian or something, no need to get sour. This has been discussed 10000x, but as you stated improve other stat combinations, make healing scale higher etc. Getting damaged for using a specific stat combo? What if using full vit gear meant 50% damage decrease?

After ~1 hour of contesting 2 keeps, killing dolys, harassing scouts, and other fun stuff (zero deaths, with ~10ppl group and various individuals who trying to catch me constantly) i got group invite from enemy invader…

Firstly, the necro you 1v1d is a minion master right, with like 5 mobs around him? They’re the trashy ones who rely 90% on their AIs. They’re pretty hard to beat with any class 1v1, but dont worry – they dont have a chance in team fights.
Secondly, if you really do want to kill these newby MMs 1v1, try stepping out of aoes (durrr) and kill his minions starting from the golem, worm, shadow fiend (blinds?) etc. I’m no thief, but as a warrior pulling out my LB and aoeing his minions down usually means a win… but its hard.
Thirdly, dd and pp? Maybe enough spam, as 22222,111111 doesnt really work now. Try s/d, so cheap with countless evades.. but it works. Just my 2c

And those using mace/gs in team fights are pretty bad… poison, focus him for a bit and dead. I swear everyone eats 1 earthshaker in a 2v2/3v3, gets killed by others and cries screaming, “warrior OP”.

4v5s make me soft.
- full ascended/exotic zerker accessories (pve, wvw)
- 1 set of zerker gear with scholar runes (pve)
- 1 set of pvt gear with hoelbrak, soldier, melandru (wvw)
- zerker weapons: hammer, LB, gs, mace, shield. Then collect the rest
- run 0/10/30/0/30 and learn m/s with gs, m/s with hammer, hammer with LB- switching V missile reflect for X Merciless hammer

Not trying to being a kitten, but honestly, if you’re something like rank 3 or you’ve never won a 1v1 or you’re a pver going for the daily or you dont know what class you’re even playing or you don’t even know the fundamental rules of the game or if you’re retrded.. stay out of tpvp please.
Tpvp is not like pve or hotjoins where you can carry the one or two newbs through a dungeon/match. Every single player plays a role and one mistake may lead to losing the match, let alone an afk or a trash that dies every 2 seconds.

spec and gear for the absolute highest DPS you can get, to the exclusion of any and everything else. and just hit Q before a big attack.

Only in pve at least. The true value of the game is in pvp and somewhat wvw, where you learn to really appreciate every skill you can use and every stat and every trait.
And at the end of the day, who cares? Play what you want. No one has the right to tell you dps or gtfo, if they do… ask for a duel and put the pve scrub to shame.^^

I have seen videos like yours before by players in other games. I remember one where this caster took up to ten seconds to select a target while the rest of the team busily did the mass of the work. You show how vulnerable the d/d ele is by the way you repeatedly run in and out of combat. Your dps barely helps the team. Your play is sub-par. You should use ae cd skills to give lasting help to your team’s dps, but you went high power to get better heals. You consistently show the role the d/d ele is being forced into – the finisher. You spend time cleaning up the downs, which puts you too far away from your team to provide support. Your solo time cleaning up also weakens your team, since they cannot protect you, nor can you damage the immediate threat, nor are you visually aware. I can commend you on your build. Your play style should follow the same focus on self-sacrifice for team strength.

And wtf does a self-sacrifice type of gameplay even mean? Were you the one who suggested the ‘setting lava font, getting downed and pray for rally’ spec?

You pay for the trouble he and his team went through to get everything ready for the endboss kill.
You don’t chase them. It’s that simple. The warrior has to have some mechanic to stay alive, we don’t have stealth, pets, minions, clones, turrets or spirit weapons. In fact we have nothing but our battle hardened bodies to take us through the fight, to survive. Thieves have stealth, thieves guild, shortbow teleportation and shadowstep on multiple weapons. The class is completely broken and should be banned from the game, given the amount of thieves there are due to the fact that people cannot pvp so they a go a class that can remain hidden for over 50% of the fight.

Lol are YOU stupid. What about adrenaline? Sure, if traited, spending adrenaline removes a couple of conditions. Sure, the mace burst skill gives a 3 second stun. What else? Most of us warriors need to have full adrenaline unspent for healing surge, gs damage and more. Learn to play, sometimes thieves arent always meant to be the best in everything.
Edit: I hope your only issue is catching these warriors, geared and traited for mobility. If you’re whining that you also lost to one… thats just an epic fail.

I recently posted this thread on the wrong forum (warrior) so I deleted it and reposted it here, but a mod deleted on the basis of ‘deleting a topic that was already removed.’ Not really sure if I want to repost knowing the poor management taking place, but meh, whatever.
Here’s a small list I’ll continue to add to, but the fractal levels are most important, personally.
- Personal Fractal levels: Honestly, unless it was really intended to make people earn these levels per character, it seems like a cheap way to force players to keep leveling and to keep grinding. Also, like many other features, hurts those with alts.
- Dungeon Weapon/Armour skins: Not too concerned with this one, but would be very nice to be able to reuse the skins that have already been earned – like the Zenith weapons.
- WvWvW Rank level: Spvp has a nice, easy system with the account wide levels. Why not wvwvw? Do not see the logic behind the character ranks.
- Dungeon Story Modes: Story dungeons are annoying and boring when done more than once imo.
- Map completion: Lol, this one will never even be considered, I know, due to the gifts and etc. But as someone who has absolutely no interest in the world completion rubbish, cant help but wish the WPs to be unlocked at the very least.
Currently all champions are to weak, in frostgorge sound all champions die quicker than you can do enough damage to get loot of them. I suggest either making them more powerful or randomizing their respawn time, so people cant camp them.
Unsure about your first reason… saying you don’t do enough damage for the champ loot, so you want them buffed up? But, randomizing their spawns would sure encourage more world exploration.
… Fractal Levels!
Another unfriendly feature of gw2 punishing those with alts (only warrior and ele for me) . I am aware maybe we have to earn these levels, but doing it on 1 character is enough imo…
As a fractal enthusiast with a PR of 50, I am always forced to run with my ele: a class I would like to leave behind me.

Ele → warrior. Maining warrior now.
I only log my ele for fractals, as I was dumb enough to level it to 50 and cbf getting my warrior’s level up (Fractal level should be acc bound -.-).
I still haven’t lost hope for the class I dearly loved, but it just sucks how all the damage through mightstacking, combo setups, perfect executions can be done with one single press of #2 on gs by warriors.
And on the topic of warriors/eles… Skilled eles are still beasts in pvp/1v1 with the s/d or d/d but staff.. just no. I literally took down 2 staff eles autoattacking with an axe. Healing is still great, utilities are okay (typical Lighting flash, mistform, Armour of earth), but the inherent low toughness, and low HP really kills this class in PVP.
Anet MUST give the ele something to fall back on; either give back the mobility or just improve the damage, toughness and whatever. I have never played anything other than ele and warrior, but through pvp I noticed every class has a backup plan just in case they make a mistake. Necros; the countless invuls? (deathshroud and etc), thief; stealth, blind, crazy shadowstep bs, guards; block block block block block, warrior; mobility to some degree, inherent HP and toughness.
You just named all the main ‘permanent’ features of GW2, but you dislike them all. But, there’s no denying the poor quality of the temporary bs.

Been playing the game for a while and have been in strong favour of the downed state. Added new depth until I started to get serious about wvwvw and spvp.

As everyone stated – it promotes really bad play and just annoys the heck out of you… thieves/s and their cheesy ports while downed, eles cheap mistforming into towers…
By all means, keep it in pve! Actually give us more skills and options! but really, please take it out of spvp and wvw.

I would love to have a 1v1 situation with the gear earned in pve other than roaming around in wvwvw for hours trying to find an opponent. Hell, I would love to see an open word pvp function
Well, crafting right now is undermined into a method of leveling only, i doubt people use crafting to gain a profit etc. This method will obviously make crafting more prestigious… something ill look forward to.
My advice is to stay persistent and don’t burn yourself off trying to get that precursor or exotic – it’s just not worth the stress.
Instead, run that dungeon or that fotm daily and the drops will come, seriously. Consistently put rares in mystic forge and as time goes, you will strike your luck. I got Rodgorts flame out of 3 rares yesterday (mystic forge stone and 3 cheap rares).
To any Crafting experts out there: is it the same crafting EXP via gw2crafts.net than to a crafting method that focuses strictly on developing? (such as http://pwniversity.com/guide/gw2-tailoring-leveling-guide/)

Hmm interesting. I changed my main to ele because it was more interesting and fun for me to play it and I honestly think that it can put out a great amount of DPS while still having enough healing/toughness to take hits. And I will admit eles are difficult to play but thats part of the beauty of playing them, and its fine if you dont think you can handle them.
Warriors from what I hear are considered the most boring class in the game for most people because its so easy to do a ton of damage. With axes you can just press 1, and with GS press 2, and that will get you through almost all PvE content. That being said the zerker warriors I PUG with dont really dodge or avoid damage so they really can die very easily. I’m not really sure about build diversity but for PvE I feel like most run similar builds.
WvW I know their natural tankiness makes them good for commanding and zerging. For spvp and havoc they honestly do lack. Mostly because their most viable build seems to be cooldown limited bursty stunlock builds that good players with stunbreaks can counter, and warriors tend to also end up as free kills for condition damage necros/engis and rangers. Without stunlock, your burst will be useless as unlike dungeon bosses players will actually move away from your 100blades.
I’m not sure about bunker viability, they don’t have the healing and boons for a guardian so anything they could do as a bunker would be outclassed, but they can outDPS guardians.
The last question, who knows? One versus One many factors come into account, but guardians will have enough invuln and healing to nullify a lot of the warriors burst, so I’d predict the guardian to win.
I’d also look into thief (no build diversity but big numbers and needs stealth in order to do anything) or ranger. My one ranger friend has a lot of DPS with sword/warhorn and shortbow with valk/zerker gear, but hes also really good so thats proably why.

And about eles, it sure is interesting with different combos and skills for every situation, but like everyone says, it is simply not worth it. Sure, I can stack 10+ might and hit up to 11k firegrabs and churning earth (strictly in PVE), but it always makes me sick how i know a warrior can do all that damage with one button.
Hi, recently i finally decided to give up on my elementalist, despite trying all possible builds, gear, weapons and now want to go for a more straight forward class.
I was thinking a heavy class with build diversity hitting massive numbers (seriously after playing an ele you will feel the same), and of course that leaves me with warrior or guard.
Alot of threads are out there i know, but none seem to help me decide.
Do warriors still have a chance in pvp/wvwvw?
Do warriors have reasonable survival skills?
Do warriors have exceptional bunkers builds if needed?
And finally can a good warrior beat a good guardian?

Agreed. GW2’s community significantly consists of a group called ‘casuals’ who in my opinion are too lazy to do anything productive or challenging, or are either tight on time and want to hold back the game for selfish reasons, like not being left behind.
I believe Anet catered to both parties with the crown pavilion patch. Casuals downstairs mindlessly zerging while upstairs we have the more dedicated testing their skills.
I really do hope Anet continues this approach and even if the rewards may still be pretty sad, finally players can feel a sense of satisfaction.
Finally, dont be mistaken… I too have yet to beat liadri and play around an hour a day. The content should vary catering for all players not just the ‘omgz ascended gear too hard’ players.
Hello I rarly post on the forums for many reasons from bad spelling to grammer and such but posting today to give how I feel on something that I am noticing in this game.
When I first pre ordered the game and played in some of the closed betas I wanted this game due to some changes from other typical mmo games most being that being able to play a character how I wanted to build and play them.
Seems though that this is not the case it seems as reguardless of how I want to make a character if I am not willing to change or conform to how every other player wants it making a character my way now makes me alone and having to play alone, while not everyone is like this it seem they are in a big majority or at least more heard. So with this now if I want to stat a class build to be more oriented for grouping I can not do this because I do not want to stat or use gear the mass players in game want me to use to rush though stuff, and I do not like rushing and am someone who dose not like being told to use online guides because I like to trial and error learn things.
Well reguardless the devs really should look into this kinda stuff while I might agree that magic find I would not use it for dungeon runs and such but personal runs for more items, I do not want to stat all my characters power or condion damage maybe I might want something with healing or boon influanceing builds that work into groups.
P.S. This is not me telling those players to conform to how I want it either, but with the mass amount of players who want zerk stuff pretty much leaves me out due to I have no intrest in playing that build and if I do not have intrest in playing that build why should I even play.
This is true, but as humans we always look for the fastest, most effective way don’t we? Zerker, as you stated, is superior in most aspects of the game, but really if you have a build idea, stat/gear idea… go for it. If you’re good at it, and you actually make a difference in groups etc, noone will say a thing. Also noone likes a full zerker dieing every 3 seconds.
Skill, time, dedication to the reward ratio is extremely bad, everyone knows that. But if gold is the your main goal and you want to farm for it… Climb yourself up to fotm 40+. When I hit fotm 41 I ended up with around 200g+ so ye..
I recently came back 2 weeks ago after a long break due to the nerfs, and finally have the time to play again. I was able to try the Fresh air build and it was actually not too bad, maybe I won’t reroll to a guardian after all hehe.
But I believe its finally time to drop the classic 2x Superior monk runes, 2x Superior water and the other 2x monk runes which gave a total of +60% boon duration. Would the divinity or scholar runes be best now? And if the boon duration runes are still best, please let me know! May save me alot of gold. ty

Oh wow, I thought this was another ‘ascended too hard to get’ thread so typed up a nice kitten post. But after actually rereading, YES, i completely agree. Not trying to promote any more gear progression, but its true. After ascended the things you can work for are pretty limited.
It took me a while to get off the mindset of being rewarded of my time spent, but it has helped me in the long run. New enjoyment in the satisfying kills in pvp, and…. thats about it. lol. The main issue is still there. When will Anet finally reward skill, time and dedication? Such as doing an arah over Cof. Casual or not, im sure everyone wants that.
