To say you can do well against an S/D thief if played well by no means translates into all mesmers do well against S/D thieves. To no means did I generalize that and the “if played properly” plays a large part of my point. I don’t think there are many, if any, good mesmers for one reason or another.

Putting the word “effective” before something doesn’t really do anything but glorify a point you’re trying to make. Damage is damage, and a mesmer does a lot more damage than most everything else, if not everything else in its entirety.

Also, statistics play to what people enjoy playing. Some people enjoy easy classes, some enjoy what certain classes over others. To say something isn’t good because it’s not easy and not many people play it isn’t an accurate statement.

I never said it was a 50/50 match up – I said it could approach that if you dropped portal. Again, you didn’t even read what I wrote before you came in here all Gung Ho for your class.

All I can say, any hope for this game is lost now. Seems like everyone who plays pvp settled down for what they have and are fine with some extra pocket money beating up bads in tpvp every weekend.
The game is done for, noone cares for improvements, as it aint happening.

Maybe not in Hotjoins, but in soloque and Teamque I still do not know WHY this is not implemented. Literally every major “esports” game has this except gw2.
Lets look at the adv vs. disadv.

Adv:
- GW2 will finally have some strategy involved. At least one person with some experience talking will make a HUGE difference.
- There will be callouts, unlike now where everyone runs around like headless chickens.
- No need for external teamspeak.
- Simply more fun and a better sense of community.
- (im sure there are 100 more advantages)

Disadv:
- Little kids trolling the mic. Easily solved by telling them to shut the fhek up.

As you can see the advantages largely outweight the disadv. Absolutely no reason not to have it and im starting to believe Anet just cannot be screwed.
Alot have turned their backs on gw2, but this is the least anet can do.

Anet destroyed an entire weapon set and a playstyle. Im happy it’s nerfed but revert it with a more appropriate nerf anet u fkenbads

The game is basically unplayable due to lag until 8-9pm AEST. This has been going on for approx 3 weeks and at first thought it was my connection… but nope.

Is anyone experiencing this? and this is not just lag in wvw zerging or in world events with more than 50 people… this is standing in Heart of the mists by myself lagging. Lag in all areas of game until 8-9pm, unbelievable.

Does transmuting always make the item acc. bound? and does the quality always have to be white?

I have an ascended Fractal Capacitor (upgraded fully), and was wondering if transmuting to a 80 exo/rare back instead of a white would work. Pretty sure I read it was not possible, but maybe it was before splitters came out. Thanks

With the new easy leveling through the tomb of knowledge books, I found this was a good chance to finally ditch my charr warrior for a human with 0 clipping issues.
Problem is, I gave way too much to this charr, with 4 ascended weapons, full ascended trinkets, hood of grenth, expensive weapon skins and etc.

I don’t mind buying ascended rings again, but is there any possible method to unbound my weapons, amulet (the expensive laurel ones) and maybe even redeem my skins? Will a transmute splitter work? For example my asceneded gs and my helmet has a skin over it…. Transmute split -> Both weapon and skin gets account bound?
Any suggestions, little tips and trick would be greatly appreciated!

Wow Ato, I really don’t care what you play, I have beaten plenty of warriors – that doesn’t make it okay. You are right, 8 seconds of condition immunity on 60 second cooldown doesn’t sound like much until you consider how much a warrior could do in that timeframe and is still hard to kite/counter outside of it, that 8 seconds just takes the gameplay from minimal skill level required to none temporarily. I really should have stopped caring when I read use sigil of doom, I don’t know why I didn’t.

At the moment warriors can just equip their passive regen signet and be unable to be killed. When a warrior is 4v1 and not dropping below 50% health and able to kill the other 4 players, it simply makes PVP unfun. 1) Hello! It’s called cleansing Ire
2) Hello! it’s called 100% condition duration reduction from stance
3) HELLO! The point is that spamming sceptre autoattack as a necro to keep up poison spells death as the warrior is vastly going to out-damage you, cleanse the conditions and regen up to 3k+ hp during one skull crack which will, again, cleanse the poison until you can try to reapply it doing pitiful damage

1) On paper it looks good. Zerker stance, cleansing ire, shrug it off – omgzz unlimited condi removal right? Well Hello to you, poison works – you apply it faster than a warrior can cleanse it.
2) Gee. Maybe googling how zerker stance actually works before posting your wild guesses may save you from looking bad. 60 sec cd, 8 sec condi immunity – what more do I have to say… Change your playstyle and actually time your attacks – spamming doesnt work honey.
3) Lols. Firstly I said nothing about spamming an auto for poison. I know you probably do that on your necro, poisoning and seeing if you get anywhere but nope. Secondly, cleanse the conditions and regen up to 3000hp+ per skullcrack? What are you smoking? give me some of it. Skullcrack = 3 seconds. healing signet = 400 hp/s, poisoned 290hp/s (not including the addition 100+ condition ticks) – so unless your running some stupid full clerics banner build 3000hp+ for a skullcrack? embarassingly inaccurate.

I can continue to blab on but no use with you. Pvp some more and actually learn a warrior if you want to counter it appropriately.

lol minon masters – trashiest no skill build ever. Tried playing one… You literally stand there spawning AIs with the occasional condition. But dont worry, screw 1v1ing them and make sure you laugh hard when you meet them in tpvp.

Cant you just join the ‘1v1 duel server’ room for arenas? and

- In game leaderboard – 2v2 and 4v4 leaderboard. Awarding rewards at the end of each ‘season.’ (maybe 2 weeks a season) Special skins usable for 2 weeks for rank1s and a crown or whatever next to their name.

But one thing I agree with is that pvers or bads going for the daily should gtfo out of tpvp. The minimal rank of about 15-20 is a good idea.

What has the 4 warrior team got to do with it?
You simply got lucky with the same ‘winning’ team due to the lack players. Warriors are sure OP in term of mace & hammer burst skills but stop portraying them as ‘unbeatable gods, the most OP class in gw2 history.’ It only shows you’re a whiny bad yourself.

-Eartshaker stun last 3sec without sigil and does+20% dmg

-Evi is insta cast, 450 rane and does +30% dmg

-Kill shot casttime reduced to 1/2sc, +30% dmg

-Flurry casttime reduced to 1sec, stack 25 bleeds and it power damage is buffed by 100%, invul while casting, immo last 7sec

-Combu shot last 12seconds, also applies blind, dmg increased by 50%

-Arcing slide dmg buffed by 100%, when enemy is under hp buffed by another 100%, casttime reduced to 1/2

I main a warrior in pvp and this is pathetically stupid lol. Not one suggestion that may actually balance out the warrior. Most likely a troll post so whatever.

The main problem is not the bloody regen. It’s so easy to counter, it’s the skullcrack and earthshaker and the stun duration MUST be reduced – around 0.5 seconds would do. Increasing the cd may work, but if the skills are still disgustingly OP no point. Personally, with all the newbs going around skull/hb and mindlessly swinging their hammer I refused to use both these weapon sets until they get toned down to reflect SKILL.
For those complaining, all I can say is make a warrior, seriously learn the mace and hammer well including all the animations

Roman numerals are fine… It gives no impression it’s in a ‘beta stage.’ And if you find it confusing or annoying, that’s your problem.
With the desperate need for further balance and more traits/skills as promised, more time wastage on icons is the last thing we need. I thought the oct 15 balance patch showed this

Best thread, this is exactly how I feel. The game puts so much emphasis on graphics and with 20 gbs of data it is a beautiful world. Yet, Anet gives us an excessive amount of teleports, like the OP said, everything is a 1 silver teleport away. Contested WPs don’t really help either -imo, there should be 1 in every major town and 1 or two in every map, not 15.
I will probably get bashed for this, but mounts with a reduction of WPs may be quite acceptable? Apart from the potential lag and clutter in LA, I see no problem.
Another suggestion is to perhaps create a ‘summon’ feature in front of dungeons, where one person has to run there at the very least.
But, in the end it won’t happen with all the map completion and etc – too much work for anet with no profits

If you have gold and resources to spend:
- Zerker set for pve
- Knights gear for pvp/pve
- P/V/T
- Ascended rings p/t/crit damage/zerker etc
Can’t go wrong with these.

Just because you pay, it doesn’t entitle you to any more benefits or rights… Some things just do not belong in certain areas. Maybe if Anet directly ported pve players directly to a custom room and back out into the pve world when they are finished… but that will never happen.

But I guarantee you, if you want a duel, go to wvw and roam around maximum 10 minutes and look for people who are in small groups obviously not doing much. Target, press P and invite/join. Kindly ask for a duel and there you go.
Recently, when SoS dominated EB I simply when up to the enemy spawn and sat there partying/bowing and had a mini duel arena on the side with 15-20 people watching. Partying and asking is the key

Warrior’s bunker is limited to just pure healing. Poison with condi spam and you will get destroyed. I think someone mentioned this, but the only reason warriors seem so OP at the moment is because all of their sustain is in a single skill, healing signet. Give them more access to boons such as protection and whatever then give the signet a nerf. And the ignorance is strong in this thread – Getting a regen of 1000+ literally sacrifices all damage. Banner healing is needed and im pretty sure you cannot hit 1000/sec purely with the signet. Ill say it again so newbies get it this through their thick heads, condi spam or a little dps pressure burst and warriors will fall.
To answer the OP:
- For hard damage in pve with casual wvw, pvp go warrior
- For the high end spvp, gvg, commanding wvw and etc go guardian. Guardians are without a doubt the better bunker

I assume this is in pve? If it is, I was on the same boat… Insanely bored, could not be stuffed farming for gold, no challenges, just the same old mobs and bosses.

So I recommend pvp. Despite the class balance issues I still think it’s still the best feature in the game. Makes you appreciate every skill and every trait, actually makes you better at the game in a sense. I dont know, but the amount of possibilities and encounters just makes it a whole lot exciting for me. I mostly spend my time in the duel servers, testing every class, trait with a range of stats, and recently found the perfect build for my playstyle. Sounds boring and pointless, but once you let go of the need for ‘rewards’ it starts to get fun. Just a real shame Anet does not see the potential spvp holds.

Achievement point hunting that hardcore is concerning. It’s the opposite of living life to the fullest. So much work, doing repetitive, boring activities for a number to get higher in a video game. They day they stop playing, all of that will be for nothing. To get the full potential out of dd/sd, start by switching up ur keybinds. f1,f2,f3,f4 is just too far away. It’s a weird transition, but get use to it and it’ll be a blast. Start off by making fire ‘E’, lightning ‘R’ play around with it and when u get comfortable find keys for the rest. Knowing the class, getting right traits, gear is just half of the issue imo. Just my 2c

Back on topic: I posted this on another thread but;
1. Pure zerker, with axe/shield, rifle. 30/0/0/10/30 or 0/30/0/10/30

2. 0/10/30/0/30 or 0/20/20/0/30: rifle-m/s for the lols. Basically mace stun, volley, rifle butt or kick. Then 2 and start kiting till the mace stun up again. Unsuspecting foe will give you perma crits doing around a 9-12k volley and 9k+ killshot. No need for pure zerker, stack the power!
