What’s funny is when I take my ele (class i have the least experience with out of my 5) I did not look at build specifics just knew I needed clerics amulet and a 0/10/0/30/30 build didn’t look at what traits were specific just kinda picked and chose… Went into a couple tourneys/hotjoins and it was insane how many boons I had and how much just swapping into water healed me and the damage was still some what okay… But seriously something should be toned down here.

Full tank guardians.. Well that’s what they were meant to do.. Full tank warriors… Just won’t happen.. Necro maybe but they don’t do it as well as an ele… Not even close. The BM bunker ranger can be pretty good but doesn’t have as much group utility/healing as the bunker ele… And Engi with the new turret buffs maybe but i doubt it. The problem top players have is that the bunker ele build out performs every other bunker build in the game by a long shot… And I did not say 1v1 I was however able to dance around on the node and pretty much feel invincible and have a FULL boon uptime on several boons… and just fully heal myself using one of 3 different methods…

Then you can sleep on 7s of invulnerability + Proj destruction & reflection + Shock aura for the melee, and chill, with dat dere Armor of earth & Arcane block. + teh dodges. You’d still be trippin. Lucky Focus is meh in general.

If a person displaces themself before a projectile hits them…it should actually not hit
Wait it does?Im quite certain that i have many times moved away from slow projectiles both by moving plus blinking.Besides wasnt here a thread that said that every projectile should be unavoidable without dodging in order for this game to be esports :P
Anyway its actually bad but this is still an mmo..Hitboxes are huge ,latency issues alter your actual position etc..And of course melee attacks have a range twice as big as their animation that stretch even slightly behind the char.
On the other hand many attacks have the reverse problem and miss when they should hit(firegrab and lightning whip of ele for example)
rtl should be affected by all slows, and recharge reduced to 15 sec again.
why devs don’t get this is a mystery.

Point is that while you couldnt leave the point that wasnt the case only for you but also for the ele who couldnt help his team cause he repeatedly attacked far..
Seriously theres only one way to stop an ele (and every class that does this) from back capping..Mobility+good 1vs1 abilities+enemy position awareness.Thief should be the perfect candidate for sticking with the ele to counter both his back capping\and reinforce the team fight if the ele stops attacking far like a drone..
Besides that mesmer with portal is already a must..having less far point assaulting options for the other team would make mesmer necessity even higher.
I still think if classes like thief get their options widen there should be no “ele” problem
Defending our side point with mesmer, ele crossed…brought him to “almost down” 4 times….and every time he just mist form> rtl away, rufulled and started all over again…at the end i had to call our war to wait for that kittener outside henge and bring him finally down cause i couldn’t leave the point (With portal) to go help somewhere else, and i was “just a bit” kitten since he kept coming back full life in seconds after running away like a dam rabbit to avoid being downed once and for all….mesmer’s mobility compared to ele’s…you know….

1)Shatterstone..you know it,i know it this kitten is bugged.It lets you cast nothing after you activate it and there is no casting bar ..it even lets you dodge at that time without interrupting it..Besides its so bad of an ability that i can count in 1 hand the times ive used it total.
2)Dust Devil..A blind with non existant damage with that casting time and that travelling speed??Another poor excuse of a filler
3)Fire autoattack..its slow,weak and it burns when an ele can burn so reliable..bad autoattack is bad!No one bothers to cast it apart from the game system if you have set it to auto
4)Maybe slightly(and only slightly) increase Dragon’s Tooth landing speed so its harder for a chilled person to avoid it.Increase cd to compensate.I really doubt anyone is getting any benefit from it having only 6 cd anyway.You ll only use it 1 tops when on fire.Number 4 is more of a dream!! than a request
You can nerf stuff all you want but for the good of the game there should be no weapon skills that are NOT good to cast at pretty much any situation like shatterstone..
If all i play hot joins i am the 99% of the population and what anet should take into account if they want this game to become even remotely popular.

guys about the dragons tooth i dont agree much about being useless.
Its just requires a really good amount of skill to use it properly.
One way i use it to land dts lately(just an experimental build) is i use glyph of elemental power to keep my enemy on weakness and after i see them out of dodges
i roll on oearth for evasive arcanas 3 sec cripple and then cast the dt.If the guy doesnt react immediately he wont manage to avoid it.If he blows a defencive cooldown for a 6 sec cd dt You Win.
Also you can cast it and then go in earth and blow up an arcane with elem surge for the immob or blow arcane power→ phoenix -> and immediately switch to earth.
The phoenix will ALWAYS cause immob 3 times and thats enough most of times.
Just another example of how high skill cap this class has/.

See it like that, if a warrior with almost twice the hp is completely locked down by snares no point in having a (by default) squishier class the same

That isn’t forcing a utility on you in actuality.
Not to disregard your point of it perhaps being too crippling in general, but it’s not forcing a utility on you at all.
For instance you can take Lightning Flash for enhanced mobility that is not effected by slows in any form. Whether RTL is reduced or not, you would have LF to help in an escape. Or you’d hit CW , air attunement -> Rtl. Or sure you could take cleansing Fire. Or you Dgaf you take signet of water. Bottom line choice isn’t forced upon you.
Though it may be a poor change to make.
You don’t make a build disregarding your utilities in relation to your needs.
Otherwise thieves would roll 3/4 signets all day to smack things with 15+ power because they can full disregard, the idea of threats.

My point is that if you need to take a 50 sec utility to make rtl up to what it was before the nerf and also taking account how mediocre general specs for ele are besides the fotm build one could only guess in what bottomless pit this class would end :P
I could surely do things to ensure that rtl still grants me an escape.But i also could do a lot less any more. So now the need for cond removal traits,the need for cantrips and boons is twice as much as before..
Dont know if you get my point..i might be wrong but i think specs like d/d and s/d would need a small redesign if something like that was to happen.
Also you really underestimate the frequency classes apply the snares.And cond removals dont by default cleasne snares first.You could have 2 singet of water but if they were to cleanse your weakness and vulnerability then whats the point?

If only we could test the rtl somehow affected by slows you would see how low ele would drop.Besides anet already somewhat addresed this issue by raising the cd to 20 sec.
They would NEVER do that if it was meant to be affected by slows.Its range alone doesnt justify that huge cd compared to waht other classes have!
So a BURST/DPS ele will have to care about cleansing damaging condies off his 13k HEALTH ,cleanse the slows that hinder his major form of defence,focus on landing his HIGHLY AVOIDABLE burst,dodge the HEAVY burst moves that other !!! proffesions have..
On top of managing more than twice the amount of cds other classes have and having a total burst htat in numbers is quite mediocre apart from the fact thats entirely aoe..

it’s madness to give the ele a 1200 gap closer that’s immune to slows. TWELVEHUNDRED. “poor defenseless eles need a way to reset fights.” right.
make rtl affected by slows. how is this still in the game?? we’ll see how the stealth nerf works out, but i have a feeling it won’t be enough.

In short if milo was in charge eles would be even more pigeonholed into heavy bunker builds only this time they would just be less effective.
I just think a lot of people want to know this so we can decide whether this game is worth continuing with. People are trying stuff out atm but only because there is no ladder. And still every serious team has at least 1 ele in and often 2. Even 3 eles is a strong team. Can you imagine a 3 necro or 3 engi team? LOL.
I promise the devs that if no ele nerfs come in the next patch there will be a similar outcry as at the balance from the last patch. We need at least the same level of nerfs as in the last patch to be honest.
The ele has the following (in 1 build):
1, Unrivalled mobility which cannot be slowed or crippled
2, Exceptional healing to themselves and all allies
3, AoE damage which is greater than any other classes AoE damage and more than alot on single target damage
4, Multiple “I messed up but still wont die” buttons which grant other benefits in the form of boons
5, Exceptional condition removal for them and their allies
6, The ability to give everyone swiftness at the start of a game for a huge duration
7, The ability to stack boons on them and their allies which can give them constantly high might, protection when needed and almost perma access to vigor (more invulnerability via dodging – very powerful) and regen (“Hi, I dont die and I dont have to heal”)
To win without an ele is difficult. They will send the ele to your far point. You will need 2 people to kill him. Except you won’t kill him, he will just run off and survive whilst you waited 2 people for 30 seconds+ and didnt even cap the point for that time. SO your outnumbered on the rest of the map.
And that is just the start. After that an ele can just keep pressure on your close point all game forcing you to use portal back or to keep someone there. And with 2 ele it is even better because at least 1 can go to the big team fights and just dominate by stacking might on everyone, healing everyone, never dying, and dishing out crazy aoe damage on everyone there.
So will this class be nerfed?

The way you describe ele as an ultimate god means that the difference between you and your ele enemies in fight must be massive.I dont think you ll ever be pleased no matter how much they nerf so better start l2playing the game..
I liked how they mentioned multiple times and in the end how they cant promote their game cause it lacks massively in every esport section..

The class with more aoe in healing,damage,boons offers much more in teammfight even if it would lack in 1vs1.
Also there are so many other kinds of synergy like how a class could have a impossible burst to land in 1vs1 which brought it low in the 1vs1 tier but in team fights with cc locking its viable.
If the game was balanced in 1vs1 it would either be unbalanced in team fights or..it would be a very very very boring game.

1)The class has been mostly nerfed to many areas (mobility /healing) since when you stopped playing.
2)The class is considered one if not the strongest in game for many scenarios especially in pvp where its kind of mandatory and every team has 1 or more.

No they shouldnt be like engie kits (we cant have everything :P)
Imo they need lower cd,lower casting time.The fact that your teammates can pick them up is making up somewhat for their drawbacks but its not quite enough yet.
Also i dont pve very often but i did fractals some time ago and i managed to stun a boss with ice bow 5 when it seemed to not have run out of defiant stacks.
Is this possible or it was something random and i didnt notice that there were no d stacks??
Yep you can defend gw2 as much as you want but a quick trip to other games that are in just beta will burst your bubble
Still i presonally prefer gw2 combat more..so imo it would be such a shame if this doesnt get where it could be.

1vs1 balance would matter if there was no synergy between classes..since synergy can make a group stronger than the sum of their individual power i dont really get what the op saying .. ?
Like when a warrior and an ele fight together the warrior gets resistance to conditions and the ele makes up for the loss of dps for getting access to the cond removals.Thats definately much more than just adding an easily snared warrior and a low dps ele and have them keep their low points
Lol no im not having fun..the mmr system is crap.It takes min to get a match when i go solo and then one team has a bunch of low ranks where the rest are rank 40..
Apparently the system thinks that for example 2 rank 50s can carry 3 rank 10s against a random team of rank 40s etc..Sad

Cond builds lack burst so the lower the hp at starting the fight the lower their effectiveness .Not rocket science :P

Im not saying that it should melt to it but the 2 extremes should when faced against each other(escapes exclude) be nullified
A bunker should have a chance to kill a glass canon as well as a glass canon should definately be able to outdamage the defences of the bunker.And of course glass canons should be countered by balanced builds in sence that the latter have both enough damage and survival options to avoid damage and down them.
Actually guardians can be soloed by non “pure” gc of a few classes already.Its just an ele problem and what we (non fotm hardcore eles) have been screaming in ages about lack of reliable burst compared to the plethora of oh kitten buttons and escapes each class has.
When you play s/d burst build and you have only 1 cc in 40 sec cd that lets you land your most damaging spell without them being literally walked off range by a guy with 400 ms reaction time you know THERES A PROBLEM..
Maybe back in beta that huge nerf in arcanes cooldown should have been aimed at cantrips instead

His problem is that he cant kill a bunker guard at all.Not that he cant kill in 1 shot Optimally every class should have a build as ridiculous as it is that it should take down even the most defencive class eventually and the devs themselves said that offence>defence in sence that the one end defeats the other end.
In otherwards the damage a bunker does is not enough to kill the pure glass before that kills the bunker WHENEVER that happens.
That doesnt exclude the bunker being able to outlive for minutes a 2vs1 against balanced builds and hybrids.
Imo his problem is in the class he plays and his poor decisions on when to burst and how to manage cooldowns.Ele gc builds are amongs the hardest glass canon builds in game(apart from totall unviable)..

If you dont go heavy in arcane you end up with massive cd on att swap and well we know what happens to an ele without boons,no heal that has run out of skills and needs to spam those lovely autoattacks !

Either go water arcane and accept that you cant kill bunkers at all or..
accept that you have the most obvious burst in game thus the least chance to kill people in glass before they kill you.
I had an experiment with a friend guardian on wether i could kill a guard with a 30/30/x/x/x spec full damage and well..you really need play good and burst out of the blue or his cooldowns will out last you..i assume that against top guards that are prepared for this damage from you you dont stand a chance.
Also keep in mind that bunkers of other classes like ranger do insanely more damage than guard and those will kill you.
Its not a general bunker problem though since other classes can actually kill them
so honest opinion..when picking a guy for orb runner is it ele or ranger??

i just got farmed by a rank 40 full premade on a team of 3 rank 5-10 and 1 rank 45..

Just go watch vids of any ele that streams so far even from top teams and tell me what is their accuracy with spells like firegrab ,dragons tooth and to a lesser extent phoenix.
The closer to dps ele ive seen so far is based on earth /air combo and arcanes whith “fire being just an extra” (that was phantarams words exactly)
If you have trouble setting up your damage as a warrior the trouble is double as burst ele (on fire).Only reason this is not an issue so far is that after a water rotation you can try again and again and again..etc
@Lordrosicky Dont know if thats the case.But if they ever make it so its affected then i ll expect all the complaints about ele to stop at least from those at top pvp level.
If you cant cripple an ele and prevent him from reaching the far point or escaping then you just suck.Even with no nerfs at healing just that change should solve all the problems people have with this class.
Of course then id expect some buffs to damage reliability and crappy traits but thats another story..
The problem is there are inconsistnacies. The warrior GS 5 ability and 3 ability have vastly reduced range when carrying the orb. This is balanced. Ride the lightning isnt balanced because it is unaffected by the orb. It also makes no sense for rtl to be unaffected by chills and cripples.
I think the devs should clarify this. ATM spirit watch is by FAR the best and most fun map imo. However……..its not tournament ready until they fix rtl with the orb.
Can you verify for me if warriors sword leap is affected?
Also theres no reason for 20 sec cd if rtl is gonna get affected by chills and cripples.A lot of classes spam those at constant rate so if that was true then you had any s/d build unable to escape.You usually cant cleasne conditions while in air either so you are limited to either cleanse or get the hell out of there .
So pls enlight me with that rtl change you say what is the build every ele will immediately go too then??
