Engi is too strong imo but due to not being faceroll will take a while before people start complaining ,ranger bm is faceroll but not that usefull due to lack of aoe and can be shut down ,s/d thief is annoying as hell and cheese while d/p is still used and very effective while requiring more skill,guard is still required for any serious team as mesmer and last ele role fell more to dps/ hybrid which is still i guess beneficial enough too not drop from team although now balanced compare to other top builds
In short its very stale imo.
Also its good to notice that the “op” classes suffer from the lack of build diversity as much if not more than the bottom 2 so i hope the devs do something overall rather than bandaid changes to make people use necro and warrior more.

well many of you want to change weakness probably thinking of it us an indirect way to buff your class (like necro).
Thing is that i know my ele can keep perma weakness on target with just 1 utility and if you were to make a flat % damage decrease in addition to endurange debuff even with protection nerf it will end up making me more tanky.
It would also cause fights to drag really longer and potentially nerf direct damage builds way too much.
Already cond damage can break a bunker very effectively and in the case of engie its too strong.On the contrary there are very few classes that have actually access to good burst builds so those will get nerfed even more..
Changes like what people suggest could really flip the game completely.I personally would hate tickling a bunkers health for zero damage unless my class supports a condition build
god are we seriously debating wether infinite range is too much or not…

dude ..thats illsuion of life.Btw a normal day in tpvp is join solo end up with people that dont know illusion of life face a premade of rank 40+ tank your rating and the drop deeper into the kitten!
hgh is harder to kill than necro…Stunbreak, access to prot(random),vigor,regen ,cond removal and most important massive pressure.He can chill poison blleed and burn your life away in 1 grenade spam and in AOE. With necro cond cleansing is manageable but with engie low life classes either dodge perfectly or they die cause nothing in the game can counter cleanse that often that much.Plus he gets to cover with vunlnerability etc the bleed and burn
Btw I really hate when people (not you :P ) still try to push the “engie is up/got it hard” when thats not the case at all atm..He has 2 powerfull builds and no option??
Fine so is every other class only some got only 1 and others none
Yesterday enemy team shared same guild tags ,perfect class comp etc and they also wore cof armor sets and had champion titles..
On top of that in /team chat there was this guy asking us to forgive him for ruining our match since IT WAS HIS FIRST TIME IN THE GAME..
No surprise at the end when we got stomoped by rank 50s while we had a rank1 and and average rank at around 25 or something..
Yep if you have bad luck this game can be UNPLAYABLE atm.

Dust devil is in this crappy state cause it used to be a whirl finisher i suppose..No wonder what cool effect had shatterstone(maybe a blast) in closed betas
From reading the responce of the dev for the necro state and what it used to be in beta i guess many crappy filler spells we have were probably at some point in development stripped from various effects they had to become balanced but kept their cd and long casting times and travelling speeds??!
Probably imo..i gues having to rush the launch of the game didnt get them enough time to fix properly the spells so just removing their additional effects had to be enough
The idea is that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.Warrior could actually be the class that needs babysitting but at the same time could be one of the most important parts of the team.They dont need more sustain imo ..or boons ,or anything.What they need is mechanics that are reliable enough to become a destructive force as long as they have their weaknesses being taken care of by teammates..We dont need a second guard or elementalist or ranger.Just make them the ultimate teams weapon.
Idk i just think that would be better for the game overall than just going ahead and increasing warrios 1vs1 abilities through sustain.Cause damage reduction and more defence would achieve just that..another 1vs1 class ..like gw2 meta isnt already ruled by 1vs1 builds

Imagine spamming the same skill (autoattack if you arent a thief :P ).You would now have to wait time that is based on your laatency in between each attack which would effectively make someone with very low latency having a faster attack rate against a higher latency guy..and to be honest ive seen it in a few games and i think it would be terrible.I think tera is like that cause my archer was firing arrows slower if i was lagging but there have been ages since i played that.Aion was like that too were if i had low latency i could cast with my sorcerer a spell activated by a combo 1 more time than if i was lagging etc (that zapping thing while you had them in air ..forgot all names)
Just put the queue to 1 skill and exclude evading and highly reactional skills and we would be fine!Entirely off-topic. Nobody is talking about the skill queue just the DODGE queue. It interrupts your skills and it’s 100% useless. Nobody wants it and it should be removed.
well it was a response to the above comment and how top players with lightning reflexes would be able to set the queue to nothing..no its not about lightning reflexes and the queue should not go..

Every ranger except the beastmaster bunker is easy for me just evade the crucial stuff and follow cc with small burst etc..like every class.
But man that bunker is just impossible and i dont think theres an ele build that can counter it by actually killing it.If you go hybrid you cant kill em and if you go glass canon you wont be able to burst them down (even if you manage to hit them through all the evades)..so they end up killing you !!!
But sure if you find an ele build thats bm bunker killer then please tell me! :P

Look at their base HP and you will understand why they got such a good condition removal…
Standard bunker build is 16 to 17k hp…..same as bunker ranger or engineer.

Also make an ele pick every cond cleanse trait and signet heal and fight a good hgh or generally cond engie.
Now come and tell me cond removal is too much.

But have considered hydromancy instead of geomancy.It deals good damage and you already have frost aura at 32 sec in this build.Chill is a very powerfull tool ele has to make up for the massive cd anet slapped to all our skills
Also would you consider elem surge instead of evasive arcana?Arane wave applies 6 sec chill on your targeted enemy (bug?) and you can also use the immobilises of the arcanes to burst in fire but from distance if you time it very good.
I know the survivability will drop massively but whatever :P
Imo exchanging some damage with different rune setup for example for high uptime of chill is totally making up for it due to enemys increase on their defencive cooldowns and does wonders in teamfights.

Im not in the position to claim if kits are balanced with the 1 sec or so cooldown.
But you gotta admit engie is the only class than can play completely reactionally.
With every other class including elementealist you gotta “predict” ,be somewhat proactive ..like swiching weapon for that cc will benefit for example more than keeping your high dps one or getting in that attunement for the buff or on switch effect is worth giving up the current skill set et..
I think as a concept engie is an easy class for that reason.
It only becomes hard to play cause people realise they have the option to completely react and so can easily see their mistakes which is harder than other classes where the line of good play and bad is more ..lets say blurred..
But sure it can be balanced the way it is now..Besides its fun!

There was in earth a trait that was replaced by geomancer freedom.
It made every conjure a stunbreak as far as i remember.I guess it was too op and they removed it?!
Or maybe it was buggy..i didnt test it but perhaps you could cast the conjure, get the stunbreak and then cancel it before it finishes casting to get it in a small cd??

The game literally gives no option for a bunch of friends to casually fight against each other with their pve items.Unless you consider paying gems to switch servers for a fight in a non instanced spot !!
Its not bad idea at all..considering the game doesnt even have the option of dueling in pve (or pvp) i d say pve guys absolutely can demand their own version of custom arenas.But this is not the forum for this

You may be right that I misunderstood
I don’t see it as some evil crusade either. But if A-net wants to push the game towards custom arenas, I still don’t think it is fair that pvp’ers (or new players) should have less options as to which arenas they can join.
(Then again – I might have completely misunderstood that as well :P)
hehe im pretty sure that if these guys buy a custom arena then it will be password protected so there is no limiting of your options anyway :P
s/d is nothing like d/p or d/d ..hardly the squishyness with the infinite dodging and evade on first part of 3 ..plus it has like the most ridulous ways to reset the fight..
I mean come on anet sword 2 has infinite range only bound by a fairly long timer and stunbreak??!! :O
No class should be so slippery imo cause it makes it a very frustrating experience for the rest and also thats why death match wont work in gw2 ..

That is something that cant be done in gw2 atm
I dont find anything bad in this even though its something entirely different than what hotm represent..but you have to take into account that custom arenas are not free and this request is not some kind of evil crusade to destroy the purity of even playing field in spvp..lol
(though devs havent got time or the staff to finish more important things so..dont hope much :P )

But ele has been owning warriors on pvp for ages and still is.
The thing is that apart form that stupid build nothing is remotely good enough..or at least considered semiviable..
Good luck finding a team with your 4 signet perma prot/fury/swift bot ele.
Or your tank ele that has access to stability for everyone every 15 sec..
I just wish ele wasnt that strong but there were 3-4 or 5 acceptable pvp builds that teams could make use of them and they also were different to play with each other.
There are builds out there that could be utilised by super tight team play but
1) i never see somone take them seriosuly
2) they are much less capable of 1vs1 than the current build which means that good luck running them in solo or in pugs…
@Maxi in beta they slapped a 2 sec casting time on eruption when it was 1 or less (maybe 3/4) if im correct.Truth is that you could cancel it and still go off so basically it had 0 casting time and could be somewhat spammed if you had earth cd trait plus people didnt know about the concept of cleansing or fighting off point so you could destroy whole groups by using this ability spreading dozens of long lasting bleeds and burning plus the other aoes
Apparently someone dev thought that having the spell firing minutes after pressing the button was giving the option for huge play with combos if i remember correctly..
Its not that i didnt put my mind into work before posting this but i dont think there are ways to be usefull with staff atm..
You cant defend yourself when focused and your damage output even though aoe is very small and you btter roll s/d or d/d for that.
Even the autoattacks miss and the rest gtaoe skills unlike engie grenades or necro marks have super long animations and super small impact upon landing.
You can go full bunker 0/0/10/30/30 but the only advantage you had over s/d was the super cond aoe cleansing with water 5 which died with the latest patch..You ll lack the mobility ,you ll lack the defence and the damage of an s/d bunker..plus it will be harder to heal your teammates since staff has only 1 pure heal and that is over 2 sec in a small area…i dont count the autoattack heal ..
And btw you ll need to drop an arcane trait for blasting staff
Actually water 4 and air 5 are nice skills but they are on super long cd and still doesnt make the weapon overall worth it imo even for control

There have been 8 months since release and with a small exception of staff gamepley that you pretty much killed…(well it wa never alive just a zombie being carried by an op broken trait)I have been doing the exact same thing ,the exact same way..s/d and d/d all played with same trait setup and either 2 arcanes or 3 cantrips..And most importan all played with exact same way..
The lack of viable pvp builds is killing it for me..the lack of weapons and most importan viable weapons is also a factor..
No viable pure range option ,no viable burst option(so called burst variations of THE build are based on attrition since the amount of stunbreakers other classes outmatches our predictable and stupidly slow burst even on team fights where ele dies from aoe if not specced for defence)
In earth theres a great trait that gives allies 2 sec base stability per earth switch.In air theres a good burst trait that good be used for heavy spikes.In fire theres a trait that with the blast finishers on fire fields could have you sitting on 25 might stacks constantly.
In arcana theres a trait that lets you chill and blind and can be used for immob and burst.
And yet most of thse things cant be used cause
a)either they require to stay too long in 1 attunement so you die
b) are too unreliable (elem surge) for the loss of survivability ..and that paired with no inherent defence and lowest health armor means death
Not to mention conjures,signet,glyphs..what ajoke
This class is a big kittening mess and i have no clue if they ever plan to put the work needed to make it playable in pvp without the necessarily water traits (so you dont die in 1 burst) and the arcana so you can actually ..play it..
That or theres someone out there actually making ele work without the common trait setup..If so then please show me..Please!!

Yesterday i was watching tp scrimming against a team and their ranger went underwater right before phantaram downed him..then phantaram used his underwater elite to damage the ranger till he dies..
Funny thing is that the (dead) pet managed to outheal the whole elites damage and after 15 sec ranger was up and rolling.Tbh this is one of the most broken things ive seen in this game.And they didnt bother to fix it even after they introduced water inside the temple map
Well not really..not when there are stuff like hgh out there free to roam..Maybe your bleed warrior get srcewed by cond removal but without it some classes would be uncontrolable
I dont care what they ll do with ranger..I just want someone to make me understand why after they nerfed/fix rtl range fro 1550 to 1200 and slapped a 40 sec for using it for movement(and not only unfortunately) they ALSO reduced its range further while catrrying the orb.
Was it really neccessarily?Ele orb carrier would be outclassed even without that change.
They just reinforced a ranger carrier meta and outright killed the alternative ele carrier.
And ele wasnt as good even before the nerfs for that job..
Basically there isnt anything that compares to ranger cause they also made invuln drop it..which is not bad imo but its also another nerf to ele carrier..

A word esports shouldnt have left anets mouth till they implement solo queue and matchmaking.
After approx 6-8 losses from joining solo went from rank 100 to 90%. Funny thing is, even after i got to the bottom, was matched up with rank 1-30s (im over r55) against a full team (r40+ of course) on ts running fotm meta double classes with fotm (flavor of the month) builds crushing us and after half a minute, we had a first leaver. That was so much fun. Looking forward to doing it tomorrow. Oh wait..Esports yeah, believe it!
i can feel you man..This is stupid.People lose,then they drop rating and then make premades and kitten the soloqers.
Last 2 games for me in soloq were a full guild of rank 40 to 50 and my team rank 30s that were running builds you see only in hot join..
This is too much..
Well roamer mesm in wvw is obviously miles ahead of ele due to portal plus the traited blink and stealths outclass new rtl in every way.
In spvp though ele is still strong and you can argue that being that fast while able to give aoe protection,aoe cleansing and a bit of heals was too much..
Still i feel like someone took a big kitten on me for the sake of pvp balance and nerfed fun twice as much as effectiveness..I hope they put for us new trait that makes rtl the beast it was before (now having to spec for it) and/or disable the long cooldown when you are out of combat
^after the change with the projectile speed is impossible to avoid their arrows ..
Of course they had to build for survivability ,like eles had :P
With hellishly low DMG output and invul with zero push back or launch. Its not much of a bunker without comet its damage will drop even further gg focus.
You know they could make lightning hammer smoother to use with less casting times.
Theres your pushbacks and cc.Plus one less cantrip for ele bunkers.
There are a lot of things they could do tbh..they picked the worst imo.They killed d/d wvw roamer as well since zergs just outrun you now and you have no stealths and other ways to reset the fight like thief and mesm

Give me back my rtl..I never asked to be a bunker anyway.Make the switch and make the rtl same it was pre nerf..If you want further nerf the healing on dagger mh and increase damage.
As for cleansing wave ..yeah you screwed staff but staff is op,right?? :P

Getting outruned is fine if you arent pure melee with no weaponswap to get any range

Well, really they don’t need all four of them. The archetypes typically go something like,
Warrior – Immobile, tanky, lots of damage
In kiting wars this design is simply not viable.
Why wouldn’t it be viable? Warriors aren’t ever going to be good solo, and this design actually allows them to contribute to team fights without blowing up instantly. Warriors have probably some of the best CC in the game. I can keep immobilize up on a single target with something like 70-80% uptime, and this is with a standard 100B build.
I stand corrected it clearly works and is used by pro players… not.

Cirax yeah nerfs werent in the right direction i agree..but they did a pretty good job to nerf the bunker imo.It is a bunker afterall ..supposed to last a long time in 1vs1
Good change that is..Arcanes need to do much lower damage BUT also have their cd lowered a lot so they can be used for their utility they bring.Spam them for damage has never or will ever be fun for me.
Besides is instant..instant skills never took much of skill to pull of..
Its cd needs to drop now..Imagine not picking the cantrip traits.It will be just a weak elixir S.
An elixirs can be traited to remove condies with no cd as well..
