I cant believe we have to tell you what exactly would be op..when its pretty much EVERYTHING.
Even if you get to swap only ONCE in battle every 5 min or so you could do crazy combos and have too much control and survivability so it would be op and battle changing in spvp essentially.
Even if you get attunements shared cooldowns on the weaponsets or even at the skills themelves then it would still be op.
Even if you had too choose 2 attunements for every weapon set like air water for staff and fire earth for d/d IT WOULD STILL BE OP.
Every weaponset has advantages and disadvantages and bypassing them with swapping would break the class..no need to go deeper and explain specific combos cause there are too many.Ele is already strong in pvp..
Ele has great utility in his weapon set and after long practise you will see how you are supposed to make up for your lack of stats.
Lol i find warriors to be the easiest class to beat, the guardian would be in the middle id say but still pretty handleable
True..I hope they buff warrior a bit(not in the form of numbers buff ..dont jump on me :P ) cause i have friends that want to play them in tpvp and theres no spot in party everytime cause of the eles,guardians engies ,mesmers ,thiefs and necros that are preffered
Ok i can confirm that it happens when you get moa formed by mesmer.
This is a huge bug that needs hotfixing asap..

Well since evasive arcana is dead now lets do a small recap of the traits best moments..
Anet may say to you that blasts were unintented but evasive arcan was making a blast finisher throughout all the betas and stress test.
In the very first one beta it used to apply burn,heal,swiftness and bleed
Then at bwe 3 if i remember correctly it was changed to..(wait for it)
Flame blast,healing wave, UPDRAFT ,SHOCKWAVE..All these spells including the blast finishers and the projectile one in earth ..Not to mention it was during the era were ele was very ,very strong anyway
Then during stress tests was nerfed to the state we knew it before the patch ..only to be considered op again and completely be removed from the game 3 months after launch!
My point is that if you thought the trait was op before then you would be surprised to jnow how much anet buffed it during bwe3..
If that tells something to me is that they have absolutely no idea about what they wanted to do with the trait and maybe with the whole balance of the game.
I d be very pleased to know whats the direction they plan for ele..
i dont know what they are going to do but please for the love of god

I’ve been playing elementalist since beta and I have yet to encounter any of these problems. I do fine in PvE, dungeons, sPvP, and WvWvW. Though I haven’t read forums till recently, do people here just jump on “elementalist suck” bandwagon?
well play another class to get on prespective..also take a look at our fire and earth traits and tell me in all seriousness ..How many of them are actually worth it?
5 % damage increase on burning opponents-lame
5% persicion to heal -super lame
5 %dagame to bleeding opponents-WTF
Do you realise how this class could flourish if every trait had the depth (not the power) of evasive arcanas previous form.It would be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
Warriors are about as balanced of a class as they come. That particular poster from that thread is also very knowledgeable about the game and is actually a pretty good player. The whole purpose of that post was to bring attention to the lacking hammer damage from the warrior. I am not saying I agree with it, but that was his point.
Also, all of this complaining about Ele’s is kind of over the top. I don’t feel like my elementalist is kitten at all. I think the class does pretty dam well actually.
Finally, to suggest that warriors are on the same level as guardians, or even close to it, is laughable at best. Warriors are not as survivable as people seem to think as well. They have the largest base health pool, but they lack good condition removal which can really hurt them. Their damage is pretty good, but people seem to not realize they have essentially no condition damage where other classes who may not have as high of numbers as the warrior do just as much damage through their multiple conditions. I don’t want to get into it anymore, but I would say warrior is about as balanced as they come. To suggest otherwise is just incorrect.
hmm why my attacks are not as strong as the class that has the smallest health and armor???
That guy is ignorant at best..not to mentionthat conjures drop your stats and thus your damage.Its like being kitten by someone and then having passing random strangers mock you..Thats how i feel about ele after the last update and that warriors hammer post..
The biggest joke about Evasive Arcana is that I always considered it to be a design masterpiece with all the synergy it brings… And it turned out to be “unintended” bug.
me too..in fact i was praising the ele class to my friends using this trait as an example of strategic gameplay
nah its like the other fire traits..just to take space so they can say they offer as choices
its so bad..and it happened right before the new dungeon.
I feel so USELESS without it.It was like i was addicted to that trait..and i now its rehab time
cause its fun maybe?Otherwise with the support spec and trebuchet killer nerf i dont see much of a reason at all in structured pvp
staff is really dead at least for me..i tried playing it and im weaker in almost every area.
I just cant face a tank guardian anymore without feeling jelousy and anger..i cant
remember that early stream when John was playing a d/d ele during headstart and was getting his kitten beat all the time..they just dnt care about ele.Balancing the game whithout completely kittening up with this class is just the best outcome we should expect..But compared to beta ele this one is just a plain ,dull imitation
My guess would be that the one guy that probably had the “gw2 ele idea” does not work in Anet now
If you like buffs, pick underpowered classes like the elementalist. .
Stop with that crap already.Ele is obviously not underpowered for Anet or they wouldnt just continously nerf it again and again anda again after each patch.
They probably dont even care about ele’s problems this moment since the whole game could be balanced with out his presence in tpvp.
Actually we havent got a considerable buff ever.All these erased playstyles were available for us since the beggining but we couldnt see them..it took me 3 betas to realise ea had a blast component.Its quite depressing thinking of this.

Please dear designers bring back some of the glory of evasive arcana.Taking out all the blasts were an idiotic and too radical solution.Let us have a chance to test it with a global or attunement cooldown.

You guys don’t seem to realise that there’s a good chance all the bunker builds will eventually be tweaked downwards. That the Ele bunker got nerfed first is irrelevant and shortsighted. They have no place in the game. Period.
Survival oriented builds designed to buy time, sure. Almost immortal builds that require extreme dedication of manpower to drop in a timely fashion, no.
Sure, it would have been great to have all that happen in one patch, and I’m not arguing that the patch is kinda pathetic, given the state of the game right now, but you’re acting like you’ve been singled out above all else to receive the only bunker nerf that will ever happen in the entire history and future of the game.
It’s reasonable to assume that, if the developers are competant (the jury is still out on that one as far as I’m concerned) broken things will be fixed, and yet here we are, crying about how some broken stuff was fixed, like it’s some kind of massive surprise. The only surprise is that it took this long and that it wasn’t uniformly spread across all the offending classes, which I’ll not argue feels like a bit of a slight, but I would hope that what we’re seeing now is the beginning of them bringing a lot of classes into line as far as capabilities goes, in order to evaluate on a roughly even playing field, and then, if necessary, buff appropriately. If you’re too short-sighted to see the vague outline of a medium/long term goal for achieving overall balance, then I honestly don’t know what to say.
and what am i supposed to do for the month(s) it will take them to drop the stupid survivability of guardians down as well? play the weak version of a roaming thief?

Good time to get a break i guess..and im not saying it as a threat or anything cause i know that they dont care about a single player.But with the current meta and the fact that bunkers are still in the game just narrowed the pvp is not fun.And im done trying my best to match up the simplistic yet effective gameplay of other classes
just bring as the blasts on a 10 sec timer..pls anet it was such a fun playstyle//Nerf wwater healing combos or nerf our healing scaling in general, but dont take out fun.
Not to mention that you butchered ele bunker/support while you let guardians specc still quite viable

I beleive many people totally misjudged the role of these dungeons in the gw2 endgame..
Those armors offer no stat advantage compared to your normal exotics.You should farm them only if you want the looks and if you re good then to make a bunch of money.I dont think they were meant to be the ,wow style , gw2 endgame..

How is increasing Story mode diffilculty to make it comparable to explorable, yet reduce the reward a good thing?this thread is full of two kinds of people. people who got their stuff from dungeons and dont care about the cahnge because they dont have to be affected. And the peple who have to do twice the work others did for the same reward

I never found cof armor pretty looking anyway so this change is godly for me..
It increases the chanches i found group for the dungeon i want.
This is ridiculous. After this update it’s clear you are forcing people to BUY gold (gems) from your store, because there is no more substancial reward after completing dungeons.
I agree ANET should improve anti-bot settings, but this is by far the easiest, ilogical and cruel way of doing that.
Why would you want to buy gems??This change just makes dungeons less worthy..noone is forcing you to do them anyway.
Maybe instead of buffing this one, have a look at the other dungeon and make THOSE more enviable so that people WANT to do them.

Just saying, I’ll do them all once and never go back as it’s clearly no way to make money and get rewards in there. Plus some of them are just plainly not fun.
Do you know what 90% of the players want?They want an easy way to get power in the game.They dont care about challenge nor do they keep playing for fun.They get their fun by getting power and wealth..Of course this patch was going to drive almost anyone mad..They had to do this or make every dungeon as easy as cof was.

well what you propose coult take months..We need hot fixes now.Just let the events scale more and let the mobs get tougher..It would be better to ensure that there is proper scailing first and events work at the basic level and then make them more complex..
i dont know if its removed but with the current state of the game its quite possible that there those ettins are killed right after they are spawned.. :P

great, but can you also look into real problems like poor DE scaling, DE’s being bugged out, and us not seeing the other half of DE content because none of them ever fail?

i bug report like 10 times today..There are bugs everywhere..gendarran fields and lornar pass too
Another example of an event that is poorly tuned and blocks other content.
There is not even one in a million chances that the centaurs repair the bridge since all that it takes is like 1 or 2 botters to prevent them..oh bots..thats a problem too :P
The event scale is not as severe as it should be..then you do the hard transition from boringly easy pve to hard dungeon encounters.
On the other hand theres something nice about this system.The most populated zones feel like they prosper and are different than the not so much populated.That at least is a very nice feeling
Peopl the point is not about you being underleveled.That could be fixed by higher exp from the hearts…
The problem is with the events and the whole “changing the world concept”
Just ramp up the difficulty one point after each success and lower it one point after each fail..Put notification message like "the centaures are on a roll "or whatever and theres your fix .
Im so happy that people are starting to realise this flaw of d.events.
I personally LOVE this form of questing but its current implementation needs serious tweeks to work..If they would fix that then Tyria would truly come to life
There are many cool solutions to this problem (cause its indeed a problem)
But imo the easiest to implement is increasing difficulty after each success..So does anyone from Anet has something to say about this ? :P
At least make the orange circles appear much much smaller..I cant beleive no one in arena net predicted something like this would happen
The thing is that we cant expect that the population will drop in the starting zones (<30)
The game is new and there will be enough amount of people for events to never fail for months..
I am on the fence on leaving pve for good..or at least until they either modify this or population drops enough for the events to actually fail
Clearly this doesn’t apply to level-capped players, but have you considered targeting content at a higher level than your character? I prefer difficult content, so personally I tend to look for content that’s 2 levels higher than my own.
The point is not that it feels easy for us .The point is that since events never fail you have the same stage repeating over and over again which is more boring than a normal quests
The centaurs in kessex hills have been trying to make that bridge for hours and never managed to even touch it yet.Seriously thats a major flaw of the system ..People right now are everywhere and they are not only trivialising everything but they also make whole chains of events worthless since they never come up.
i just made a topic suggesting the same thing.I fully support the idea of increasing difficulty..Right now many events are a joke and dont do the game justice

Im at kessex hills and i see the same events over and over again cause everytime the centaurs try to retaliate they face a huge zerg of people and fail.Basically your whole chains are reduced to the same spam of the same events every few minutes.
