Was playing briefly with the new story instance but after that ‘fixed a server crash’ patch I can’t get into the game anymore.

I can make it to the character select screen, but if I then try to load into the game it gives me:

Network Error .
Please check your Internet connection and try again.
Code = 1083:5:7:159:101

EDIT: Seems things are back to normal now. Maybe somebody replaced the hamsters?

Check the TP for Giver’s recipes, if you don’t already have them all.

Thanks, I should have all the Giver’s recipes already as I’m a hoarder for crafting recipes.

I’ll take a look later tonight and see if I can make something with these stacks of snowflakes.

So to my knowledge the Watchwork Pick is the only permanent gathering tool that offers something extra that’s actually worth some money on the TP. Probably because people are still finding Spinal Blade blueprints in their bank and the sprockets are also required for some guild upgrades and a couple legendaries.

Actually, having lots of snowflakes comes in really handy when you want to level crafting or craft rares/exotics for forging/salvaging. They are much cheaper than any other fine crafting material allowing you to save a small fortune.

PvP balance not being migrated to WvW and we should be VERY happy about that because they are two entirely different game modes and forcing 5v5 PvP balance on WvW makes no sense. Already we have had to suffer through several idiotic changes and nerfs that originated in PvP and were forced onto the rest of us.

Stop trying to mess the entire game up just so it suits your little PvP niche please.

I know a guild with no more than 5 active members who have a level 50+ guild hall – that is probably decorated nicer than most large guild halls. It is just a matter of keeping on top of it- the same as it is for larger guilds (which have different challenges to overcome).

With the removal of influence, the only barrier to guild hall growth is currently missions – and they have done a pretty amazing job of making sure there are always missions that can be done by small groups.

My guild also consists of only 4 fulltime members and we currently own a lvl55 (soon to be lvl56) guild hall. Through dedication and lots of concentrated effort aimed at farming (and raiding our banks) were we able to get this far.

The higher level missions are unfortunately out of our reach, but I’ve been doing a lot of the easy missions (like Trek and Bounty) consistently solo or with 1-2 guildmates every week. Because upgrades take a lot of Aetherium and planning we were able to get a proper upgrade path going and now hover around 6000 Favor (although the early days had us starved for Favor).

So it is perfectly possible to run a fully upgraded guild hall with just a very small number of people. Main issue was claiming the guild hall itself but with the help of a few friends from an allied guild we were able to get it (as long as you enter with less than 10 people you only get 1 spawn to kill)

Afterwards you just have to be prepared to spend/grind a lot. But then again, it does make your guild hall feel all the more special.

Still, I would not mind if ArenaNet had included some smaller guild halls or reduced costs (like in Warframe), but I understand their reasoning for not doing so.

Want the HoM items? Buy GW1+EotN and earn the items like everybody else.

Last time I checked you can get the complete set (Core+Factions+Nightfall+EotN) for around $45 and just Core+EotN is around $30.

You can already get an easy 3 points just by linking accounts.

TIP: Make a Ranger so you can display your pet (and a rare one later on) for an extra 2 points.

Been standing here in Timberline Falls with 40-50 people for over an hour but no event.

EDIT: Just as I posted this the event popped. So I guess the spawn timer is somewhere between 1-2 hours. Have fun doing this 10 times peeps!

Seems we’ll be getting a Glide-r-Tron next that makes you look like a drone. I currently see it in my Glider tab but no option to buy yet. Would fit nice with my Asura who already has the other Hero-Tron themed items. :P

Can we add advanced spinal blades as well? The ones before the advanced one really aren’t all that plausible as the “wings” aren’t really big enough to be a glider.
Technically you could add them though because the spinal blades packs are jet packs. I am saying aesthetic alone would dictate that the advanced could be used as a glider.

Agreed. I find it rather odd that the Spinal Blade Pack (and upgraded versions) wasn’t made into a glider skin option as even the first version is basically a jetpack.

Same with the Decorative Molten Jetpack.

Glad to hear you and your wife managed to get your guild hall. Our guild is also very small (3-4 people) but we got some help from an allied guild as it was impossible for just the 3 of us.

Now our golden hall has flourished and through hard work (and lots of materials) we managed to get it up to level 50.

As for the event to claim the hall, 9 people max seems to be the magic number to get just 1 Maw to spawn, go in with 10 and you suddenly get 2 Maws.

Normally everything is just fine and I get a steady low ping.

Today after the patch my latency is off the scale. It can sit at 35-45 ping and then shoots up to 200-600 for no reason. I even had a spike over 2400 just now!!!

Same here. I keep selecting Music of the Caverns hoping it will remember the selection and start playing automatically when I return but nothing!

The Guild UI is bugged too as it still shows ‘The Pure Sounds of Nature’ and hasn’t changed since the day we first got the music guy in our guild hall. I am one of the guild leaders of our guild btw so I have all permissions too.

I just want to our members to be greeted with the soothing Music of the Caverns when they enter the guild hall, not having to run to the tavern every time to select it.

So far I haven’t seen a recipe to fix it or anything. So I guess it will just be a broken remnant unless ANet decides on some Living Story quest that allows you to bring it before the Pale Tree or something.

Would be a bit strange to have Chak as Ranger pets though. The Ogres in Tangled Depths tried to tame them as pets but found out it was impossible.

Play the Ogre pre-events in TD and you will find out for yourself.

This! I actually made a list of which class could choose which weapons as reward and just ran my 13 characters through; picking the weapon I needed and taking it off my list.

I admit that it was a little tedious (and not everyone has 13 level 80 characters) but still doable and in the end I think I only had to craft 2 more weapons myself and I was done.

I only got the Bronze reward screen pop up (because I was too slow) but I clicked my Synergetic Reactor anyway (because I was clueless) yet somehow it gave me the token for my collection. Not that I was complaining as I was super frustrated with that stupid mushroom adventure.

After completing my legendary journey HOPE IV collection I now have the precursor ‘Prototype’ from Stage III and the ‘Gift of the Catalyst’ from Stage IV.

However, I seem to have numerous items from the collections still in my bank. As I apparently can’t use them to craft a second precursor or anything do these still serve a possible future purpose or can I safely remove them?

I tried looking for answers on the wiki but couldn’t find anything.

He wasn’t at Union Waypoint but patrolling the area just SW of it (near the ice elementals)

Thank you for your post. I’ll give it another try but so far I’ve been camping out the place for up to an hour at a time over the course of several days and the Wraith never popped up. Not during Lyssa nor after the temple is captured.

Does this guy ever spawn? I’ve been camping out Union Waypoint where he’s supposed to spawn but he just doesn’t show up at all. Now I read that it’s a defense event that may occur some time during the Priestess of Lyssa defense event in the center, and that she must remain untouched for a period of time. But people just zerg her down like nothing and then it’s all peace and quiet again.

Now I heard some rumors that ANet was planning to change these ‘fail to win’ events so we can actually continue with our ‘legendary journey’, but is there any truth to this or an update as to when they are supposed to change it? That Quaggan in Frostgorge was annoying enough already to obtain.

I have all my other components for the actual legendary weapon currently collecting dust in my bank because this Champion Risen Wraith is preventing me from completing the collection and giving me the item I need to proceed.

Yeah, just had the event and was able to get one guy to stop attacking the Svanir when another showed up to finish the job no matter what how much I pleaded.

Can’t even get from LA to Sparkfly Fen to park at Tequatl! I have had 12 Network Error CTDs for each of my attempts so far and still can’t get there.

Doesn’t work for me. In fact it almost seems like it made it worse as I can’t even go beyond the character select screen now!

Keep getting network error and then getting kicked from the game when I want to enter Fractal portal or when I need to load into a map.

Now it even kicks me out before I can load into the game so I can’t even play at all.

This sucks!

What is the dropchance of the ‘Shatterer Crystal Piece’ (Guild Hall decoration item)? Me and my 2 guildmates did Shatterer 3 times now but got only 1 crystal total (I got one the first time and nothing since, my guildmates nothing ever)

Getting kicked constantly here. 3 minutes, kicked, no progress saved, rinse repeat.

Meh, currently in WvW god-mode can be summed up in two words:

Dragon Banner

Yesterday we went up against a 25-man french server where one person (female Norn Revenant) always ran with a Dragon Banner. Not fun eating 10k damage instantly when there were only 13 of us. Still they were unable to take the fire keep from us though but that’s because they sucked. :p

Heck, I still need to get that Aetherblade one in order to finally complete my Dive Master. But yeah, a title would be nice as some of those diving goggles were almost impossible to get.

I’m still using my old Logitech G930. It’s wireless and has these nice buttons on the sides so I can keep talking even when I’m on the toilet! :p

Downsides on the G930 however were the odd audio glitches like an increasing buzz that can come out of nowhere where you have to shut down the headset; which had something to do with USB sleep mode I think in Win7 (I shut that one off and only rarely have issues now). Also the fact that the quality of the pleather ear- and headcovers is very poor and tends to tear and flake after a year or so. Unfortunately Logitech does not sell those parts individually, but fortunately you can get cheap replacements for at least the ears from China on Ebay.

I’d still like to see underwater abilities for Glint and the other legends that are currently still missing theirs.

Still no underwater abilities for Glint either I take it? And why the hell do my facets keep turning themselves off after I went down and keep deactivating themselves one second after I reactivated them.

Only workaround I have is switching aspects but it is very annoying.

We already have mounts in this game. Flying carpet, broomstick. Even in WvW you can drive around in a dune roller.

Gliding is just a fun pasttime and to experience the world from a birds eye view.

I really hope ANet will enable gliding in all of Tyria.

ps. But I’m not going to pay another $60-$100 for it though so don’t get any funny cashgrab ideas ANet.

Yeah, grinding a JP for hours upon hours just to get 10k drinks in order to finish a collection wasn’t my intention on how I wanted to spend the Christmas holidays and New Year.

Uhm, I got an exotic aquabreather from a Wintersday box. Not sure if it was a personal or regular one though, but I suddenly noticed a “some guy’s name” box in my inventory after opening all my presents on Day 1 and it contained a choice of 3 aquabreathers.

As I haven’t played PvP in ages I can confirm that they apparently drop from the Winterday Boxes. I just don’t know which one. Droprate seems abysmal though as I only got one in about 700-800 boxes opened so far. :P

Yeah, if the number of drinks was 1000 for the token and 10000 for the title, I’d be perfectly fine with it. But 10k drinks to complete a collection for a seasonal event during Christmas+NewYear where the required items are only available for 4 weeks is a little ridiculous.

Sitting at 9/10 for the collection and I doubt I’ll ever get to finish it because of that 10k requirement.

The only achievement you can do after wintersday is over is the drinks, but yes as long as you finished everything else you can continue farming drinks all year round until you get your 10k.

And how do you intend to ‘continue farming drinks’ when the presents that contain said drinks are going to be removed after January 12th? Continue farming 1 box a day? That should get you to 10k in about 25 years.

The achievement might stay active, but with the actual drinks you need to complete it going away after the event it kinda defeats the purpose imho. And one box a day from the Christmas tree in our home instance isn’t a viable method.

If ANet would just lower the number required to 2500 or add cooking recipes to the vendor so we can craft the drinks ourselves, now that would actually help.

Leaving the Festive Imbiber active is cool and everything (and thanks for the update), but the drinks that are required for the achievement will still be gone after the event so it kinda defeats the purpose… And no, the single box a day from the christmas tree in our home instance is not a viable method imo.

So unless you guys add some cooking recipes to a vendor so we could brew our own festive drinks and such or lower the requirement to something around 2500 it would be rather pointless to leave an achievement active that can’t be completed anyway (unless we fork over cash-for-gold on a finite TP supply).

Just my opinion on the matter. Sorry if it sounds a bit harsh.
