I read your post. Referring back to my post where I linked the posts from John Smith showed it was working as intended. I was going to critique your post, as I saw several things wrong, but chose not to as the argument was over and I saw no point in prolonging this thread.
Tell me, Ayrilana, do you make it a habit of taking ppl at their word?
Lol… Sorry but I’m not a cynic which you’re implying I should be.

It’s working as intended via the posts from a dev explaining how it works. So the general consensus is that it’s working as intended. With that in mind, your thread is making the accusation that it isn’t so you should provide all of the data/facts/spreadsheets to back up your claim.
You cannot make a claim against something that is generally accepted and then demand that people defending to provide facts and data to prove their case.

You must not fall off the top portion with the torches. If you fall down to the part with the aspect crystal, you fail.
Some time back, someone linked over 100 fully charged keys(they obviously stack).
Just like Twilight stacks to 250 (well 252). I’m not saying the keys do or do not but be aware that people can manipulate the chat codes very easily.
Funny thing is that this thread will prompt more people to do it now.
I find the fight to go pretty quick but then I’m following him to his platforms and not running clerics armor. I also found range DPS’ing him from the center platform to be quick too. His health does not need to be lowered.
Record the players doing it with FRAPS and email it to their customer support.
He’s the same size as all the other centaurs. Someone was porting the other day and nothing had changed.
Yes and when it is 100g for 1 gem and say a few hundred players decide to cash in w/their credit cards and go on a shopping spree on the BL what then
The rates are dynamic, you cannot set a high price then trade at that price, the prices will change as you trade, even inside a single trade if it’s a large enough trade.
Let me make this clear for you and for Anet as well. The ppl who aren’t buying gems with money most likely aren’t going to buy gems with money. It’s a supply and demand thing. If you’re not supplying something that constitutes someone spending real life money then the demand goes down. Or something like that.
They’re curves and the at every price the demand for each side is different, as the price changes, new users enter and leave the market and trade differently. It’s not as simple as some will buy and some won’t, the curves are quite dense.
“…new users enter and leave the market and trade differently.” Ooooh. Okay, I see now. The unawares new comer will spend the dough. Gotchya. Well, thanks for addressing the topic. Good day, to you all.
Not just new people to the game.
if you need a different answer, it’s “nothing”
as they have said, in anets eyes it is working as intended.
Working as intended? Only a fool would not see the impending economic disaster this will soon be (should it continue on this trajectory).
The only “economic disaster” this is going to bring is to the player’s actual wallet. Because gold > gems will become so expensive that players will use their real money to buy the new shiny things in the gemstore.
Either that or we go to monthly subscriptions.
I want the power / power / power stat combination.
I heard that if you feed him that you get a precursor. I wonder what’s lying around in Prosperity that you can give him.
“If the ratio gets obnoxiously bad then players will start buying more gems and the ratio will stabilize eventually. Also if it isn’t already, it will further discourage players to convert gold to gems, make the scale go back the other way.”
It appears it SHOULD work this way but I haven’t seen the scale go the other way in months. Sure, in a day it will fluctuate but in the long term, it’s an upward trend.
“Long story short, Anet does not benefit in intervening and resetting the ratio, even if they do, we will face the same problem a few months down the line unless the entire system gets an overhaul.”Yes. This is true. Makes sense that it would just go back to where it was pre reset. Idk, I guess this is how it’s going to be from here on out. Oh well. Thanks for the response.
Maybe because more people are buying gems with gold than using gems to get gold?
As a quick aside. Gems in the currency exchange are finite. You may buy gems with real money to your hearts content, but if you don’t put any of them gems into the currency exchange the currency exchange’s stock of gems never changes.
Think of it this way. The government can print as much money as they want, that doesn’t mean your bank account has access to that money. The currency exchange does not have access to gem creation. It has a limited stock that players add and subtract from.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/So-much-for-the-bag-bank-slot-sale/page/2#post1491917
There seems to be some confusion:
The currency exchange has a supply of Gems and Gold.If players are converting Gold to Gems, then the Amount of Gold player will receive for their gems goes up.
If players are converting Gems to Gold, then the amount of Gems players receive for Gold goes up.The exchange rate changes based on the scarcity of each supply. You cannot inflate it, it’s an exchange rate. As players purchase in one direction, it entices purchases in the other direction.

It being player driven is an answer to your question. You just don’t understand how it works is all. I believe it was explained in one of the two linked threads but I’ll try to find the dev post about it.
There have been threads on this. It’s completely player driven and working as intended.
I haven’t wanted to join a guild, and so I am accepting of the fact that this can and does greatly limit my ability to do certain things in the game.
The only place the quote loses me, and this may just be my own ignorance of how to go about it, is “You then find an somewhat empty server . . . .”
How does one do that with the existing tools?
My reading of what the OP has been asking for, is for better tools to do exactly this part. Am I missing something obvious?
You have several people go to various maps until you find one that appears empty. You then ferry everyone onto it. I’m usually joining after a mega server is found but perhaps someone that does this regularly can explain better than me.
Changing the server you guest on influences which mega server you end up on. Normally the guilds built around doing mega events tend to have members from many servers so this normally isn’t necessary. Mega server maps also have a cap so you can kind of force a new one for the map like an overflow in the old server system. Again, I’m sure someone else could explain better than me.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
For the other achievement, I ranged it from on top of the tower. The mini golems could not follow me up there but they did linger close to the tower rather than head back. Perhaps if you got to the tower without aggro then maybe they’d stay by the boss. And you could get both at the same time.
Easy mode would be to stack on the boss when they are all electrified.
Those that would likely complain about the drop to 50 are probably the ones that would complain when a new edition of the game is released with additional items that they did not get with theirs. Things change and I do not remember reading anywhere that the change to silk in late November to early December was final.
If you’re someone that continually changes your hairstyle then this item would be worth the cost. Otherwise, you’re just wasting your gold.
This may be a completely original and not thought of idea so hear me out.
The game has these things called guilds. Someone who wants to regularly do these coordinated meta events could start a guild specifically to do that and invite other people that wish to do so. Scheduled times can be posted on the MOTD so everyone knows when to be on and ready. You then find an somewhat empty server and ferry people over. You can use TS or other voice chat programs to coordinate if necessary.
Why hasn’t anyone thought of doing this? Oh wait… they have. A lot of the successful servers (ahem, mega servers) do this.
I find it very stupid to be forced to join another guild just because I don’t want to end up on an empty megaserver. I am faithful to my guild.
It’s a guild specifically for these events. The majority of people don’t use these guilds as their main guild. They log on and rep the guild while doing the guild run events. When they’re done, they go back to their guild. If you feel you should not use any of the widely useful features that are already in the game then that’s your choice.
Just remember that your complaints and demands for changes will hold less weight since it’ll come off as you wanting changes to be made to suit your personal needs rather than those of the community. There are already ways in the game to organize for these events which many players have taken advantage of.

They could probably drop it back down to 50 now.
They should release ones for white and black. Just imagine the chaos. Well probably not as much with the conversion rate.

We’ll likely get access to at least the small NW corner that a number of people have already seen. There’s a decent sized open area past the centaur camp but I don’t believe it’ll be the only part of the zone released unless they’re planning on having us go to existing zones for the story.
Watch, it’ll be that old TBA world event boss, only appearing once per so many hours.
Hopefully. The current ones are boring.
Seriously, some of the offers for a permanent hair style contract are higher than most LEGENDARY weapons now.
WTF?
Anet, will you ever release more of these? Because this has been going on for months, and it’s just getting ridiculous now.
Am I the only one that thinks this is insane?
If I put a sell offer of 10,000 for a dusk, would you think there was an issue with them?
No I wouldn’t think there is an issue because that’s a PRECURSOR which I (and I’m sure many others) expect to cost up to a couple thousand gold (or more if there is hardly any supply and people want to hoard them), but there’s ALWAYS some of them in supply.
If you take a look at all the other permanent contracts, there’s always at least 1 in supply. This particular hair style contract has had ZERO in supply for MONTHS. That is a BIG difference.
There’s also the fact that Anet hasn’t brought them back since I think it was the first Wintersday? (someone correct me if I’m wrong).
I must’ve read your post and interpreted it incorrectly as I mistook it as another one of those threads you commonly see in this sub forum. I do agree with you that it is a bit ridiculous that there is now zero supply and an item such as this was limited to just Wintersday boxes rather than being included with BL chests.

Considering the OP was talking about BUY orders……if you put in a BUY order for dusk at 10k……..yes, most likely the OP would think there was an issue.
Not sure if your trap was for me or the OP. My point was eventually going to be that a few orders at a high price, whether buy or sell, does not necessarily reflect the true price.

And just like with the Great Wurm, the reward should be based on the wurm you’re fighting, and on how well you do at it, rather than on what people halfway across the map are up to.
No.
One day, while Crown Pavilion was active, my guildies and I were bored. We decided to host a Gold OF.
We did just that. For hours we tagged up and coordinated Gold-Run after Gold-Run.
OP is looking at this the wrong way. As if there are two options; you either get lucky with a Gold OF or you get unlucky in a non-Gold OF. It’s not the case at all and you present yourself as a helpless person devoid any drive.
You have an option of improving the OF you are in and bettering it for yourself and the others around you willing to stick around long enough to make it worth being a part of. Do this, and people will then flock to your OF.
Again your options are not (1) Be Lucky (2) Give up. There is always that option of (3) Fight for what you want. Of course C is harder so many feel content to blame their misfortune on their luck instead of taking some personal responsibility for their situation. No one owes you a Gold OF. The only one who really wants you to have one, is you….so go make it so.
My two cents on GW2 and life. Enjoy.
And if you can’t get your whole guild team into the map you’re on? Do you find a new one? What if after 30 mins of trying you find one but have 5 people unable to get in? do you keep trying or say “tough luck keep hitting join”?
What if a griefer comes in and continues to train one of the teams just for his own pleasure? How do you deal with that?
I’m all for the “put in the work” attitude, but there are very real issues that need to be resolved.
The same can be said for any map including the coordinated ones.
I like the idea. But I just wish it wasn’t so determined by luck from getting into a good map. Especially now with the megaserver.
Spamming “join in” for hours isn’t really my idea of having a good time.
Create your own map for doing it then just like those in the map you’re attempting to spam join did.
Haha, I get it, I’ll stick with the zerg
On another note, what’s a good build for a zerking Guardian? All PVT (soldier), all PTH (cleric) or mix of both
Isn’t the latest fad to use VTH?
So basically you find it unfair that people who work together get better rewards?
Or if you decided to be reasonable you might say that OP thinks it’s backwards that getting the rewards is nothing more than a matter of how many people are participating and therefore the barrier to getting said reward is finding a map that has enough participants.
The bazaar events tended not to reach gold most of the time and very little effort was actually required on the part of players, making it fairly clear that the only reason why map-wide events fail or only achieve partial success is that not many people are participating.
I had been in many full maps for CP and the reason most lost out on gold was because of a lack of coordination. So many tried to Zerg it and scale up the bosses. Dry Top maps have had the numbers but they don’t make tier 4 due to not coordinating the events.
If you want to get the top tier rewards, find a map, pull people in that want to cooperate, and then coordinate out who does what. That’s essentially how all of the people that do top tier maps do things.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)

I sure hope that there will be a Gift of Ambrite mining node for our Home Instance in a future LS2 release. Getting enough Ambrite if you want to craft multiple Nomad’s items is going to be a real pain. >.<
Dry Top is permanent. There’s no need.
But then they get new competition – I get it- the upper teir Zerg servers want to only have large numbers to fight- but all that would happen in the upper two tiers is that you would half to wait every other week to get the same server you just had. The rest of us- who would like to see other severs- would get that more regularly. I’m sure some in DB are glad to see t2 again? I don’t know – all I know is seeing the same people week in and week out is pretty boring :/
I used tier 1 as an example and you’re still not seeing what would happen. Whichever server that drops a tier will undoubtedly win by a large margin and be back up to their original tier the next week. The server that moved up a tier will most likely lose and be sent back down to their original tier.
This doesn’t really change anything.
Server A in tier 1 loses. They go to tier 2 where they can easily win and will go back to tier 1 as the tier 2 team that replaced them likely lost. Same will happen in other tiers just as it did in Season 2.
All it does is creat volatility for one server in each tier.
And don’t forget that one server will be stuck forever on the same tier (The one that end up being 2nd all matches).
All it does is guarantee the winning server to move up a tier where they get slaughtered and sent back down. Please think about it thoroughly.

You must not have played in Season 2.
It’s 81 gold and 4 silver if you trade 1000 gems for gold. It’s 112 gold 85 silver if you trade gold for 1000 gems. That’s a difference of 31 gold and 81 silver.
It seems to me that this change would greatly benefit those that are willing to buy gems with cash as you would get more gold by selling gem store items on the TP. How much gold you make inevitably will be decided on by how many people choose to do this. Unless I’m missing something.
We’ll have Traherne. There’s a reason that they stated LS p2 starts after the personal story.
Yeah kinda bad, that i started grind for the pre, but u cant have enough gold for it, because as u reach a big amount they (the flippers) increase the prise with 200 gold, because of the ultry rich flippers have fun, while our job gone. And its not fun at all it feels like u waste ur time playin this game.We need something 100% sure way to get our precursor, a way where the rich no lifers wont troll u all the time.
You’re welcome.

They will ad 500 jewelry in December. Because December is the last month for 2013 earning.
They will release jewelry crafting in December. So poor people will buy gems to boost Anet 2013 earning.
I was wondering how long before some caught that.
So… any hidden effects like the mining pick that shall not be named?

Ah. That would be the day when gold ore is worth more than iron ore.
