You’re saying it’s acceptable with that entire post.
Each recipe is 250 samples so you could only buy a max of 3 recipes. The NPC has no items for 100 samples. If you accidentally bought more than one specific recipe then it’s not the game’s fault.
If you were attempting to buy the MF, which is 100 samples, then yes you can buy more without any warning. You also had to reinitiate the dialogue each time in order to be presented the option to purchase the MF boost again. Repeatedly restarting the dialogue and clicking to buy the MF boost is not the game’s fault.
I’m sick of the snowflake part. It takes too long and is very boring. The penalty of dying and having to repeat it for, what now, the 800th time?, is not worth any reward the put at the end. I would consider trying the Jumping Puzzle if I did not have to do the Snowflake part AND THEN the rest. IMO the should be separate, then it would be worth the worthless reward.
I disagree. You can complete the entire thing in well under two minutes. There’s no reason to nerf something because people want to faceroll through it. Daily achievements count towards the meta completion so there’s no need to even do the jp.
And 6 months from now it won’t matter. Silk was probably the highest supplied material and is fairly common. It only seems bad at first because there’s such a huge demand for it at the moment. Once things settle down then it won’t be an issue. Anet was likely thinking towards the long term rather than short term which 95% of people focus on.
GPH doesn’t really mean much when the farming method cannot be repeated.
For example, before ascended armor came out, I could farm ancient log and orichalcum ore nodes on six toons netting 26 gold after TP taxes and wp costs. I could do this in 1.5 hours. That’s 17.33 GPH!
Yes it’s supposed to but it’s essentially just 40 minutes of boredom now.
It’s whichever one is the middle. I normally take the right path.
Are you sure the warriors aren’t getting might stacks from the monks? Never really paid attention as to whether they got it or not.

You can’t stop any time during the puzzle except at the torches or to wait for the snowballs to move. It’s really easy if you hold down the right mouse button as you jump. I think one of the paths is actually pretty long as even I sometimes barely make it.
I’m pretty sure burning is effected by crits since I swapped in some cavalier gear in place my magi and my burn damage went up so I need to see some of your math on that to get a better idea of what you’re talking about. There are also really in-depth guides to pve burning so it has to be good, no? Plus dungeon bosses hit so hard how you supposed to stay alive with a one hand sword?

That information cannot be correct. Every time my burning does damage it pops up with this little red flame symbol that looks the same as when a normal crit occurs.
Condition combat floaters will now display a splash behind the damage floater to identify the condition that dealt the damage. This feature is turned on by default. To turn it off, use the new UI option, Show Simple Condition Floaters.
finally anet reply to this big issue, THANKS
in other games it work very easy, the istance is open if someone is inside, they can start 20 ppl and if 19 left party (doesent care who is the leader) the istance is still open
The post was made in October 2012, not 2013.
NO he’s right. Why should he have to advertise he is running a sub standard build when our mantra is “Play how you want”. The amount of damage done is irrelevant if the dungeon is completed.
…
The amount of damage done is very relevant. It affects how long it takes to complete a dungeon and can also measure the success of the group depending on everyone else’s class and build.I believe the success of the group is determined by the end reward, not by how long it took to get there.
No. End rewards are not correlated to player/group performance. Based on my interpretation on what you said, ALL dungeons that reward 1 copper would thus equate to unsuccessful groups. WvW Season 1 gave undesirable end rewards thus all servers were unsuccessful.

He is trolling.
Wasn’t sure. You’d be surprised what people believe. After all, there’s a guy who believes being in a guild causes him to receive less karma/exp, loot drops can be stolen, other players are stealing his exp, and something else I forgot.
Edit: I remember now. It was something about WvW enemies are out to get him and purposely camp poi and vistas to prevent him from getting world completion. They also purposely zerg’d him in the map and would not respond to him when he told them he didn’t want to fight.

Did fractals again in the 20’s. Had a member being unable to get past the platform you jump down to at Maw due to agony killing him. Was quite hilarious to watch him repeatedly attempt it during the entire fight.

Well then other players don’t want to play with substandard builds that do little for the team so they have every right to boot him. They are allowed to play how they want and if they don’t want to play with people using those builds, they are entitled to that.

I believe until January 24th. I could be wrong.

Create the instance or don’t join guild groups.
Thanks for the headsup on this. I’ll be sure to let our items folks know about the rune being soul bound. That seems odd to me!
They are still soulbound, so now, with about a year of delay, can you let us know why this odd thing still happen?
He hasn’t been a dev since a long time ago so he likely won’t be leaving an update.

My stance is that there’s nothing wrong with selling a path so long as you didn’t boot someone from your group to make room.
Funny. When I saw the title I was like “Oh not another one of these again!”
It’s still very doable.
Please remove the user name as you are not allowed to single out specific players or groups on the forums. You should email Anet instead.
What are all 20 Wintersday Festivities needed?
I originally thought you needed to do the inf. festivities twice, yet I’ve completed 41 of the jump puzzles and only gained one point.
This doesn’t seem to add up with only 16 festivities listed.
You’re looking at the wrong number. That’s how much you will get for completing the current tier.
High achievement points doesn’t mean anything. They only had to do each path on e to get Dungeon Master and could have farmed CoF path 1 for the other 200 AP. There’s a large percentage of players that do not know how to use basic skills such as dodging or to read enemies’ telegraphed attacks. There are players who do not swap out weapons, traits, and/or utilities based on the situation.
Generally if everyone is experienced then running should not be an issue. The only two running sequences people would have issues with is the one on the spider path to the boss in the egg sac room (Vevina of Feyona; I just can’t remember). The other is the long run after the 6 NPC’s in the force field room where you essentially run to outside the final boss chamber.
I wont deny the bosses in aetherpath are more interesting. But standing on panels with electric floors and kiting oozes is just tedious and boring.
If you’re coordinated enough, you only have to kite the two oozes once. The electric floor puzzles take no time at all if everyone knows what they should be doing. People don’t do it because of the numerous reasons. They decided it’s not worth the effort when you may or may not get a group that’s capable of doing it in a reasonable time.
I personally would like to hear from DnT or rT (i know you’re from them) if they routinely run it and what their impressions and average times are. This is of course ignoring the time hating from the cutscenes which I agree are annoying.
the best part is how much you have to pay to switch between which crafts you want to use.
Yes. That’s the one reason why I regret doing them all on one character since I have to spend 40+ silver each time to switch.
Since Wintersday goes for so long, I’m guessing you can finish the whole meta with dailies only if you wanted.
Pretty much this.
It’s not my place which is true however it doesn’t change the fact you’re posting about bringing back a previous living story within a subforum for the current one. You only briefly mentioned the living story dates where 98% of your post was about bringing fractured living story achievements back. Adding one little sentence does not make it relevant to the subforum.
Perhaps if your post was primarily about living story updates, and you used fractured living story as a short example, then yes I could see a relevance but it would be moved to the suggestions forum.
Sounds like handing in a paper. What you wanted to say might have taken 5 lines, but since it had to be 3 pages+ you added a few pages of filler.
Seriously though, let’s take a look at how the original post is built up, since you seem to care a great deal about it.
-> Short intro about myself vs the game up until Fractured!.
-> Personal concrete problem & Cause. (Fractured is gone, lack of info and/or misunderstanding)
-> Effect & Result (TL;DR, I got sad)
-> Solution & PreventionAs you can see, the problem is encountered in the Fractured! patch. The cause, effect, result and prevention however all applies to Wintersday and all future temporary releases.
I hope that clarifies it for you.
Still doesn’t change what I saw. All of those points you made in the OP were used to argue for the Fractured living story to be brought back. The fact that this thread is now in the living story general subforum is evidence that it did not belong in the Wintersday subforum.
Since you brought up the paper analogy, the conclusion summaries and recaps the main argument. Your conclusion, which was in bold, was about bringing the fractured living story back. Nowhere at the end of your post did you mention including a date range or timer.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
They clarified the boss week living story duration though. Living stories have also never lasted only a week. The only time a living story has last longer than 2 weeks is if it continues on with the next living story (e.g. The nightmare tree living stories). Holiday living stories tend to fall outside of the norm and can last longer.

A timer has already been suggested but no official response about it. Pixelpumpkin was the one who suggested it and I wanted to give them credit for the idea. I personally feel a timer wouldn’t be feasible but they should just but the date range of end date below the title.
I doubt they would ever bring back a living story. This would set a precedent and then people would demand/expect it for every living story.

The subforum does no longer exist.
It does, it’s in the archive and already had an identical thread about this. Asking for the Fractured living story to come back in the Wintersday forum is not the correct way to approach this. A more suitable place would be the suggestions subforum.
This tread is no different than if I were to create one about how Evon should have won so we could get the Abaddon fractal. It just does not belong in this subforum.
I justify the thread by the fact that it happens every single patch. The relevant subforum gets a bunch of “When does it end?” threads, and no one really knows anything. As I said and linked, Wintersday was not an exception, but luckily got an actual answer. But don’t worry, Anet will delete this thread if that’s what they think should be done.
No. This thread is about making the fractured living story achievements come back. The bit about how long living stories last was just added in an attempt to make it relevant to this living story which unfortunately did not work as the overall intent of the post was about bring back the fractured living story achievements. Just look at the title you gave the thread.
There are some trees that are hidden around corners as mentioned or some structures. Otherwise I’m sure Miley Cyrus could help you…

This thread is essentially the same as the other one in the Fractured subforum. Your purpose in this thread, which you bolded, is to bring back the Fractured living story in some matter. This is beyond the scope of the Wintersday subforum.
It is the same, and it is meant to be the same
Wintersday is no exception to the problem, but at least there are not many threads, since this patch got an official answer. Fractured! subforum was not as lucky. And to be honest, it should not even be on the forum. It should be in the game.

It was more difficult last year but got nerfed since some people had problems.
Donating is completely optional. You do not have to do it.
Avoid the wind? I have yet to ever get hit by it on the snowflakes. I suggest watch the wind and figure out its timing.
No. It just means plan accordingly. I used the key to finish that achievement. The chest also coincidentally happens to have loot.
Not sheet music but here are the flute tabs for it. I’m sure it can give you a good start. Tabs are in the description.

Too bad it was the tree and not Scarlet that exploded.
Are you sure someone didn’t change characters? Perhaps you were actually the host and didnt realize it.
Look at the description of the keys. They tell you which area of Kessex hills each can drop from. I can’t remember at the moment.
I would understand the argument about the exploding presents if you didn’t get an area to stand in and wait. PPL should not be complaining. Yes, it’s random. Don’t try to figure it out. Just be the first to go (usually just before the blue presents show up) and you won’t have a problem.
Or if you see that everybody is lazily waiting, just choose the 3rd option and reset the presents for everybody. You’re losing 2 gifts but you’re saving time.
I prefer the fourth option. Simply jump up the presents and laugh at every one still waiting there.
This. Most of the time I can make it up just fine.
Agreed that the respawning is the main issue. Players have a tendency to skip mobs as it is (and from past experience, ANet doesn’t like skipping). Making it so that clearing out the Dredge so people can activate buttons/run bombs unmolested would solve both problems.
You can already do that. For the bomb path, only a small fraction respawn infinitely. The others respawn after 2 or 3 bombs are exploded. You only should have to clear the hallway twice if done correctly which is much faster than doing the RNG suicide runs hoping the dredge don’t disable your bombs.
For the button room at the beginning, just clear one side and kite the other in luring the veteran that spawns at the panel. It’s pretty simple to do. I’ll also point out (not specifically to you) that it’s much quicker to do the panels/gates the correct way rather than exploit into the panel room.
Here are some simple fix for this fractal (updated from my previous post):
1) Remove the first 2 switch that open the big room with the console (but keep the big room with the console). Just remove all veterans from this room and (increases respawn time a bit or reduce mobs damage a bit). The machanic has its place but it’s currently poorly implemented and wipes are way too often here. We shouldn’t have to wipe 5 times at level 41-50.
2) Remove the suicide bomb part and replace by the cannon part. Maybe reduce a bit the amount of mobs.
3) Reduce by at least 50% the amount of mobs in the clown cars. Change the event to make the boss spawns AFTER all the mobs are cleared as we currently just pull the boss away and kill him first. I think it’d be much more interesting if the boss is after the waves. Remove the invulnerability on mobs when they spawn. It takes too long to be able to damage them and it’s quite annoying with a few Mistlock Instabilities.
Keep the bosses unchanged and we’d have an awesome much loved dredge fractal and an overall cut of about 33-50% in time.
1) I disagree. Doing the first two panels for the gates take no time at all. People just exploit themselves into the final panel room which is why you encounter so many people that don’t know how to do it properly. There also already is a mechanic for the final panel room. Again, not many people know to do it because they got used to just using the death on panel exploit.
2) The bomb path is fine. People just choose to make it more difficult than it needs to be and desire to bring RNG into how long it takes.
3) I mentioned in another thread somewhere about changing this and making them some mechanic of that mini boss. I agree that it’s boring but doesn’t take nearly as long as I see some people claim except under certain instabilities.
