And many players were able to finish Fractured. Some players were not able to finish Fractured just as some players were not able to finish other living stories.
That argument is entirely invalid, as the only way to complete the full set of Fractured achievements was relying on RNG. It wasn’t just a question of time dedicated like other achievements.
Umm… no. The argument is completely valid; yours isn’t. Many people completed the meta for the reward AND completed all achievements. Whether it was RNG or not doesn’t matter; many people still finished all achievements.
And the complete lack of any sort of response on this section of the forums shows exactly how much Anet care about wvw..compare and contrast with their beloved spvp.
In case you missed the link in the OP.

In GW3 maybe, though they might surprise you and go with an up to date DX13.
Adding DX11 support would be a major change to the core game, something that isn’t done casually. Outside of a major expansion with an overhaul, I wouldn’t expect it to happen. Furthermore, considering just how many basic features they still need to implement and just how long it has taken to add those features, I just don’t see it happening. They probably don’t have the in-house resources to do it either, just like how they had to get specialists in to counter botting.
If they were going to work on it though, it probably wouldn’t be implemented anytime within the next 5 or so years.
If lord of the rigns online can constantly patch to the latest DX with updates with such a small dev team and cash flow and player population then how can arena net not possibly do it for guild wars? its down to greed and laziness.
Or coding that’s so convoluted that it’s not financially feasible to fix/update it.
I prefer to group with level 80’s since it leaves more room for error. They have more stats, even with being downscaled, and more traits/utilities. They are also mire likely to know their class better than someone just starting out and are properly geared. When people level, they are often rarely not up to date on armor/weapons.
Every time I have been with a low level, they are the first to die. I did AC story with several of them and they were consistently face planted into the ground. I personally do not feel like carrying people through the dungeons. Nor do I feel like spending more of my free time doing a dungeon that can be completed quicker with an all 80 group.
There’s really know reason for a low level to run dungeons anyway. If you’re going for rares then that’s a waste since they’re cheap and they’ll be obsolete by the time you have enough tokens for them as you level up pretty quickly. If you’re going for exotics, there’s no need to get the armor now as you can’t equip it.
I’m not saying you can’t do dungeons as a low level but be aware that a large percentage of players do not want to play with them.
It’ll take roughly 7 days of doing all 3 paths to get a complete armor set. Not really that unreasonable. If you don’t care for the looks then you can just buy the armor pieces off the TP since everything is cheap now.
You have to over clock but it’s possible.
The problem is it’s greatly affected by the number of players in LA. Try it in those most populated servers where a constant of roughly couple hundreds of players are present, it just can’t be done.
It can be done and I see it regularly. I’m far from being the only one too.
You have to over clock but it’s possible.
A better challenge would be to get 100% map completion without being level 80. May not be possible anymore with the account bonuses.
I’m pretty sure this is impossible. I have all 8 chars at 100% world and I got them all there from lvl 1 completing 1 map per day. I didn’t farm any levels or events just did any that came as I went along. Just doing this and the 1 map a day I was always easily lvl 80 only 10ish maps out of the 25 (not counting the cities) done that you have to complete.
You can easily get much more maps than that completed before you hit level 80. I’ve leveled 6 characters doing only map completion. I’m sure it can mathematically be computed as to whether it’s possible or not since everything gives a % of experience.
The only DE’s that you should be unable to do are ones listed “GROUP EVENT”, and there are only ever a couple per map…
Leveling also doesn’t really take that long… Don’t forget about crafting and participating in the living story which can both be really great ways to gain experience and level up quickly.Go make a new char and try and do a mid level DE. Barely any reward for a struggle of a fight which would have been done in 2 seconds at launch by the zerg. Now its you vs like 17 mobs.
So it’s not so much about not being able to do any DE’s but rather not being able to faceroll through them?

IS THAT what’kittenting me on the platform after the exploding presents? Wind!? God that’s irritating. You can’t see it coming. There’s no method to avoid it. You CANNOT dodge-roll ‘cuz you’ll dodge right of the platform. Every single time I get to that platform, I get hit by wind. The only thing I can do is to go to the far right of the platform so I don’t get blown off. But because the wind HURTS you, that doesn’t leave you enough time to get to the end of the puzzle.
It’s the stupidest mechanic since torment.
If I’m exercising my skill in a jumping puzzle, I shouldn’t be penalized because random.
You can dodge roll. I do that all of the time so I don’t have to wait.
If the mods would mod their threads as a player, instead of as our parents, they would have a much easier time.
If players would follow the rules of the forum then everyone would have a much easier time.
You must not be reading this thread. People get infracted for following the rules.
Of course. Everyone must be following the rules…
Every infraction has the reasoning and rule included with it in the notification sent to you. In every match up thread you always see people trolling and/or attacking one another.

Not true. I’ve made it over the blue presents often as an asura. All classes jump the same height/distance. The key is learning your race and how to do jumping puzzles with it.
The technical height and distance are supposed to be the same, but the animations work out to not quite being as high or long. Thats why the hang at the edge and teleport on top.
Well I’ve done just fine as an asura and not noticed a difference between human and them
Thieves can solo it but not the legit way. Just watched a video of one doing it.
Thanks for the Link, I had already read that and find it unclear (maybe just me).
I don’t see the answer to my first question at all.
For the second question I posted, basically you can get a ascended box from any fractal not just the final chest or the daily chest.. so then running many many paths everyday has a better chance at ascended then just doing your daily? didn’t know that..
It states the answer in the rewards section.
“If you have nothing useful to say, stay quiet” is what people say
1) Once a day only for every 10 levels if I’m not mistaken
2)You can get ascended boxes wherever ascended materials drop, even though I think the odds are better for the daily chest. You can drop ascended boxes from the loot chests from bosses, but I don’t think the big chests drop ascended mats – so no ascended gear
If what’s bolded is being directed towards me, all I have to say is:
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
Better to show someone how to find their answer(s) than just give it to them.

What are the stats of your computer?
All I’m going to say is google them. I believe someone from DnT had a good video showing how to do it instead of kamikazing the door.
Out of curiosity, I looked up said video. I don’t know if it’s because it’s just level 30 in the video or because of the changes, but there are a lot more dredge now, and they respawn much faster. That strat doesn’t work except on lower levels.
It still does work. You must’ve looked at the wrong video or didn’t listen to his explanations.

Please help. I am just jumping from platform to platform when all of a sudden some wind comes and sends me back to the beginning for no reason.
I am talking about the new Snow jumping challenge.
It’s lag.
It’s not lag. This happened to me 3 times in a row, twice while in the exact same spot, it’s a bug. I could probably duplicate it if I went and stood in that same spot again.
Well I have never ever been knocked off by wind while on the snowflakes. There are many others that have not either. It was confirmed in another thread that it was due to lag.
Everyone that was 31+ was dropped down when they updated fractals.
Think of it maybe as liberation. You were going to miss one eventually.
You say that like it is a fact. Yet for over a year, many players have done every achievement.
And many players were able to finish Fractured. Some players were not able to finish Fractured just as some players were not able to finish other living stories.
All I’m going to say is google them. I believe someone from DnT had a good video showing how to do it instead of kamikazing the door.
People used to farm them until zerging champs became more efficient.
As part of the Fractured update, many fractals were supposed to get a tuning pass. Many players (myself included) were pretty excited about the possibility of their least favorite romps through the mists being shortened or made much more comparable to other fractal levels. Instead, Dredge was actually lengthened by the addition of random dredge mobs patrolling about, while Cliffside was left relatively untouched. Both fractals (some Mistlock instabilities excepted) are not difficult, and are only a time wasting slog through the mud.
Both fractals have an instant demoralizing effect on the group. I have been in fractal groups where upon the beginning of the Dredge fractal people have left without a word within seconds of being plopped in front of a million dredge. The other three tier 3 fractals, Aetherblade, Volcanic and Thaumanova all have unique, interesting mechanics that can be challenging. However, the modus operandi for Dredge (and in the past Cliffside) has been to get by with as many exploits and ways to avoid fighting the legions of enemies as possible. Neither are fun, and getting either honestly feels like a punishment for trying to enjoy Fractals. Both are in need of actual adjustments to bring them in line with the other tier 3 fractals in terms of length, fun and difficulty.
So it’s bad now since you can no longer exploit it? All of this just means that people will have to actually learn and use the true mechanics. The only thing that I have felt that could use a change would be the dredge car.
When i heard that we were getting new fractals, i couldn’t hold my excitement. Sure they were recycled from previous LS, but we were getting actual permanent dungeon content, and a new one too.
We were promised lots of balance changes, good rewards in line with other dungeons and a steady difficulty curve, but as soon the patch hits, i was extremely disappointed with how the whole update was handled.
Rewards are still completely underwhelming compared with something like AC that can be done in 10 m for 1.5g while a 48 fractals that usually can take 1 hour, rewards 1.4g.
Some of the chests of the new fracs actually give less loot than the others, our pristine relics droprate from boxes were reduced.
The final boss chest of a frac 48 still seems to reward similar things to a level 1.But nevermind about that, most of my friends enjoyed doing fracs for fun, right? Wait what, they added MORE dredge to the dredge fractal? And they managed to make some parts even worse than before?(dying on buttons don’t work, dredge spawn as soon you kill the drilling guys instead when you pick the weapons, more patroling dredge before the buttons).
What happened? what happened with Anthony said? https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Fractals-took-WAY-too-long/first#post2828742
I thought we were getting something along the lines of a content that challenge and force other classes to use a variety of builds, not one shotting enemies pigeonholing at least 1 or 2 warriors/guardians in the party. We still have enemies doing up to 14k~12k on long distance attacks with no tells. Mages in the ascalonian fractal simply snap their fingers and you die. We are forced to find a way to make this less painful only to be “fixed” somehow in a hot patch.
There were so many complaints about dredge, for months before this update, and yet, it was turned even worse, i just don’t understand what reasoning was used for these decisions.
You misread his post.
Please help. I am just jumping from platform to platform when all of a sudden some wind comes and sends me back to the beginning for no reason.
I am talking about the new Snow jumping challenge.
It’s lag.
Ok so go glass cannon build and get murdered during the ‘’sitting in buttons’’ phase of dredge fractal and have fun being down in less than 2seconds in full zerk, remember that you can’t dodge there and blind doesn’t work, reflection won’t work for melee dredges too, don’t get me wrong berserker is master race in any other PVE content (except world bosses since you can’t crit them so crit chance and crit dmg are useless) but here it’s not useful until the boss.
If done properly, you could stand there naked and not need to just eat the attacks. It’s just that a lot of people were so used to dying on the switches, they either forgot or never learned the real mechanic.
The only absurdity is your misinterpretation of my post and ridiculously blasting it way out of proportion (perhaps blatant exaggeration is more fitting) whether unintentional or not. Based on your tone in other posts, I’d say it’s the latter.
Not that I’m at all surprised someone would make an attack against my post in that manner. I actually expected it since that’s how a lot of people challenge others’ arguments.
If you read my entire post, and comprehended it, you would see that I was trying to establish a logical connection between how real life events occur and how in-game events occur. Being able to experience events outside of your urgent timeline just would not make sense. Some of the living story dungeons were able to be brought into fractals but in a slightly different form.
My other statements about being able to watch it on YouTube was for those that missed out for one reason or another. If you missed out on someone’s birthday party, you could always experience it through videos. While it will not be exactly as experiencing it firsthand. It will definitely not be the same experience if they were brought back into the game.
That is what I am against. There is no need to bring back past living stories into the game. There are a wealth of resources at hand that you can use to catch up and see what went on. You have the wiki which normally has the entire script of any story sequences as well as a recap. There is also of course the YouTube videos previously mentioned.
I do support the implementation of cutscenes sequences being tied to an in-game object (can think of it as a movie player). This was done with the Majory bar cutscene. Perhaps this could be done with the Tower’s explosion cutscene and others in the future. I also know they are working on a way to do a recap like done for the personal story.
These are better options than bringing the living story back in its entirety.
When events occur in real life, do to have the option to repeat them? Living stories are tied to events that occur in the game at a certain one along the game timeline. There’s no delorien to take you back to repeat those events.
If you missed a living story, you can always watch the videos on YouTube which capture the moments. Kind of like what we have in real life with video cameras.
Odd since you should see them for the sigils. Do you have all of them discovered? If not then they either changed something or it is a bug.
What are you trying to make? With all four slots empty, are you unable to select mithril ingots? Do you have mithril ingots?
Oh..? So other than the invasions, where can I find some of the clockwork minions
You can re-do the story instance and choose the second option after reviving the clockwork minion. I think it only took 3 minutes to get that achievement.
Do the daily achievements that are for that living story. Today’s is to kill one clockwork minion.
SAB 1.0 and 2.0 had nothing to do with the living story. But it lasted a month.
Bazaar had little to do with the living story, and it lasted a month.
This Nightmare Ends instance lasts 6 weeks, and it’s doable in 2 hours (if you after the achievments – and what other thing would any lv 80 character do there?)
I mean, come on.
Now I can’t get all the achievments (that is important to me) just because RNG didn’t like me…
And that’s exactly what happened last year during Wintersday with the RNG box minies. Bought like 100 boxes, managed to get Foostivoo – didn’t get the others again and bam – mini collection is over. I didn’t continue after that, cause, you know, what’s the point?
SAB is the only exception.
Bazaar lasted a month as it was the setting for the Evon/Kiel elections. That trade agreement will likely have some role n future living stories.
See my post above yours for why Nightmare Ends lasts so long.
I personally want a new dungeon.
Or they can just read the patch notes which specifically state you can.
Yes this is what I did and only one is needed. Alternatively you could also do the aetherblade path of the TA dungeon. I believe the first enemies you encounter are watchworks.
I just bought some tonight and they were account bound even after equipping them. Previous bought dungeon armor are still soulbound.

Holy moly this thread. The jumping puzzle is perfectly fine and expertly crafted. The constant damage serves to give you a sense of urgency. The disappearing snowflakes is to break up the crowds. The presents are really the only true challenge in this JP. Wait for someone to YOLO a partial present setup (I see people make it all the time, but I’m not that good) or wait for a “victim” to fail it so the presents reset.
The single wind gust can be dodge-rolled through. I have never been knocked off by the wind gust. The rolling snowball part is really just a matter of strategically using the peppermints and avoiding the Skritt.
This JP is fine as it is. I’m no JP expert. Heck the Halloween JP probably took me hundreds of attempts before I figured it out. And you know what? If I got so discouraged that I rage quit the whole thing, I’d STILL be able to get the meta. I would just move on and find something else to do.
@Devs: Thanks for a great and challenging jumping puzzle that looks pretty freakin fantastic too!
The fact that you have to wait for someone who’s dumb enough to make a go for it (you know they’re just going to be starting over from the beginning) is part of the problem. You may stand at that platform for several minutes because nobody wants to go and reset the presents.
Actually, you don’t have to wait. I’ve made it across with barely any presents.
You get a new item when you use it in the mystic forge.
Armor and weapons are considerably cheaper now. By the time you get enough tokens for a piece, you’ll have enough to buy another with gold.
They extended Wintersday to end January 21st to give time for holiday vacations and to to focus more on the last 4 updates. Since Nightmare Ends was released at the same time, it got extended as well.
Living stories that are not part of the main living story or are the second part to the living story chapter, generally will not last more than two weeks. It has normally always been like this. Fractured was just a minor living story update so it made no sense to extend it longer.
Expect most paths to take around 30 minutes. The skill of your group members will play a major role on whether you finish earlier or later than that.
That is no fun. I know a lot of people have finished all the achievements by now, including myself. I thought we were supposed to be on a every 2 week patching interval.
Is this game starting to die? I’ll tell you what. If you (GW devs) want to kill this game, slow down your content patches releases and stick with the “no expansion” idea.
Looks like no GW2 for me until Jan 21st, nothing new for me to do and really nothing old I need to repeat anymore.
Perhaps you should research what it actually takes to develop content. It’s also the holidays so they deserve to spend time with their families. It was also stated that there are four more updates worth for the current living story “season” and they want to focus on making sure they’re released smoothly and relatively bug free.
There’s a pattern to the explosions. Learn it and then it won’t matter how many people are jumping. The disappearing snowflakes is meant to stagger people so they’re not all going at once. You only have to wait for like 5-10 seconds which is not a big deal. There’s also a timer at the top so don’t attempt if there’s not enough time.
I thought it was automatic and discovery was not necessary.
And this is regarding the guild, not individual parties.
