Only if they haven’t run it before.
Getting 10 achievements is very easy in the new path though. The 6 bonus achievements at the end are pretty much a freebie.
What I consider good is:
- Able to mitigate damage effectively through use of skills/utilities and dodges
- Able to output damage effectively through use of skills/utilities and other boosts
- Able to work as a team and participate as an equal member
- Able to constantly analyze situations and think how you can do them better
- Able to listen and respect your team as well as all players
- Strive to better yourself all the time
These are just a few off the top of my head and by no means all of them.
So you don’t really care if they want to farm champions, yet they should tweak the spawn times so it’s not worth farming them? That’s what I’m getting here…
No. I was offering a suggestion to those that had issues and what the likely option should be. Perhaps I could’ve worded it better.
Or, if not patched by then, take advantage of the glitch that let’s you get XP by discovering greens and yellows. At 497, you still get 5k discovering rares.
Supposedly if you don’t close out of the crashed client until after the boss is down, you get credit for it. I have not tested this though.
It’s possible for everyone to range attack him if they have the skill but its generally not worth it. Melee always does more damage than ranged attacks and you can still do ranged attacks in melee range.
It takes under an hour so long as you don’t go for the foreman achievement and people know what to do.
A single run of the new path will complete the living story meta.
Is the new Aetherpath for Twilight Arbor is a new, permanent path, or will it disappear when the Twilight Assault Living Story ends?

A lot of people don’t post in this thread as the info is now available on the tracking sites.
With that said, TC and JQ normally have then uncontested every night.
He doesn’t spam the whirl move so people are just using dodges when they don’t need to. Condition removal was for the conditions his whirl attack gives you. Stability was just a buffer in case people don’t dodge correctly and get hit by the last bit of his attack. I think it’s at the end of his attack that knocks you around but I could be mistaken.
Did you do the pvp daily first?
That’s why I said they need to dodge or use stability and condition removal.
No. You don’t need zerkers for this dungeon. They just make it easier.
TA should be easier as people are still trying to do it. CM is a pain for most people since they don’t know the dungeon well.
It’s all conjecture at this point, as ANet simply refuses to answer. I will assume the worst, which is I’ll be forever stuck with 9/10 because the daily was borked yesterday. And I don’t see myself doing CM today (not enough people online at my playing time)
It goes by the TA specific dailies or by completing the achievements for the path. Doing a single run with the bonus events at the end will get you the living story meta achievement.
I have yet to see it happen but have read that it bugs because people port to the wp.
They just need to tweak the spawn times so that it’s not worth farming over and over. Either add 5 minutes to the respawn timers and/or have it so the respawn timers increase the more frequently they are killed.
I made a suggestion several months back that a lot of the farmers got upset about. I had suggested that some sort of DR should be in place where if you kill the same champions repeatedly within a certain amount of time, you can lose out on getting the champion bag. XP and karma is also reduced as well for those tied to an event.
I personally don’t really care whether they want to farm the champions so long as they’re respectful to players that want to kill them outside of the zerg.
It will likely extend out an extra week to November 4th which will put it back on its normal schedule. I believe this was exactly what happened last year. Except something similar to happen to the Wintersday living story as well.
I think this boss is really easy, actually…just dodge, kite, and take down his shield. The only problem I see with this boss fight is the glitchy hologram projector things and how they bounce you around if you run into them. That’s really annoying.
Otherwise, I think it’s a perfect boss fight. It’s fun and somewhat challenging without feeling unfair or annoying.
This right here. The boss fight isn’t that hard people. He’s actually pretty easy to deal with compared to certain other bosses in the dungeon and their abilities. coughcoughSlick,Foremancoughcough
Foreman follows the same concept as the final boss. If you stack on him, he doesn’t do the ranged attacks that can down people in seconds. The only difference is his whirl attack which you will either need to dodge or use stability/condition removal.
Slick just requires your team to pay attention and not afk just auto attacking.
I’ve been through 6 groups today of trying to kill the Spider queen in AC. The speed run group(first group) I was with, went flawlessly. After that, the groups couldn’t even get her down to 50%. What is going wrong here?
We’re stacking as tightly as we can get, she just wipes everyone out in a few hits. Also, why don’t people fight her around the statue like everyone used to fight her?
I’m really frustrated with this because I’ve wasted my entire Sunday with this Dungeon. Any advice you guys can give would be greatly appreciated!
People don’t fight like before because the majority of the population doesn’t know how to dodge and avoid circles. They will always find a away to avoid having to dodge to make fights more of a face roll such as stacking in a corner for the spider queen, forcing Statue of Dwayna into the wall, etc etc.
Last boss is fine. Just have one person pull the hologram and DON’T wait until the last second to kill it. You can constantly pull the holograms as well to make it foolproof.
The single achievement in the living story category will go away at the end of the month.
Your link doesn’t say anything on the subject of when it will go away.
Two separate things in my post. All living story updates that tart at the beginning of the month go for the entire month.
Your answer is located in the patch notes and the preview for the release.
And this is…the 15th?

It takes only one tick of damage to lose the achievement. Maybe you didn’t notice it.
You probably killed an entire row and didn’t realize it.
We pulled him under the ramp and killed all enemies that followed him. We generally just wiped and reset once they’re dead. You’re guaranteed not to pull an entire row by doing this. We then pulled him again and STACKED and fought in MELEE range. He doesn’t do the gear attack if you fight him in melee. Once dead, kill everything else.
Fastest lupi clear time recorded.
1 Thief, 1 Mesmer, 1 Warrior, and 2 ElementalistWhy the hell are you running a guardian in your group?
Thief and Elementalist have some of the top DPS in the game and add a hell of alot to the team besides that.
That speed clear time offers nothing to the argument. You cleared Lupi that quickly because you used the fire elemental items and feedback. Elementalists might head used their elites. None of this reflects on their DPS.
The living story meta will either go away Tuesday or after Halloween. There’s an 80% chance it’ll be around for another couple weeks. You can easily get it if you do the path just once and make an easy attempt at the optional achievements.

…..
Is the incorrect sentiment. It is most certainly not an exploit, it was a deliberate design choice and advertised as such that one could level exclusively from crafting 1-400.I call BS! Again, show me where a Dev (not some blogger or game website review) has ADVERTISED this as a game “feature” intended to allow the compete purchase of a LVL 80 character. I certainly recall the exact opposite being stated in a Dev blog back in February.
You may truly believe what you are stating, but I think if you go back and look at the details, you will find you are mistaken. I’m not saying Devs have not verified that buying a LVL 80 is possible, just that they don’t endorse it as a “feature” of the game.
Hey, I could be wrong….show me the quote of a Dev advertising it as a feature of the game.
It was posted in the beta forums.
All drops directly from enemies are affected by MF. Having more MF will increase your chances of getting crafting materials.
I do not believe damage plays a role other than whether you get credit for the kill or not.
You get roughly 10 levels for maxing a craft. Before it was 400 crafting levels and now it’s 500. It makes complete sense to adjust the exp received to accommodate the additional 100 crafting levels. However, they should not have done that to the crafts that are not able to reach 500 just yet (this assuming I read correctly from people’s comings that this was happening).
If you melee him he only does one attack that does any real damage. This can easily be anticipated when he raises his arm up. His stomp move that does shock waves can easily be avoided by pulling a hologram to him and killing it.
The mechanics are easy enough that it can likely be soloed.
She’s in love with Faren. That’s the secret.
I’d go ahead and buy infusions until you reach the point where additional ones have no value to you. I doubt they’ll roll out infusing weapons/armor via the MF. We’d likely see necklaces and earring first.
Is Caithe in the cage by the entrance to the room? I’m trying to figure out why the activation sequence would not have happened for you guys.
I think it’s only $20. The free version can record up to 30 seconds which could be enough to kill things. This is FRAPS that I’m referring to.
Screenshots of yours and hers UI (so we can see your levels and buffs) as well as what you’re fighting and the combat log showing the experience gained. If its part of an event, the medal ranking will also be useful to see.
I’ll just point out that candy corn was harvestable last year so don’t go buying them off the tp. Within a couple days, the prices will be low again. Of course if you’re impatient…
How about recording you and your wife playing simultaneously? We can then get a better idea about what’s going on. It only needs to be for a few minutes of the both of you killing the exact same things.
Discoveries and crafting are the same thing. Discoveries just grant you bonus EXP. read the wiki. This is clearly not working as intended and needs to be patched.
Bonus experience is earned for the following actions:
- Discovering a recipe grants a bonus of 100-150%
- Getting a critical success also grants bonus CXP.
- Crafting a Masterwork insignia or item gives double expected xp( +100%). This is additive with Discovery (so +200%)
- Crafting a Rare insignia or item gives +225% xp, or +325% for a discovery.
- Crafting an Exotic does not have any bonus experience, so a discovery doubles the experience earned.

Wow. I looked through his post history and there are a ton of posts about this from him. He’s told time after time about how exp and loot works in this game but refuses to believe players and official sources.
I’m not sure if this is a glitch or a bug. Due to the recently increase in the crafting level cap, there’s an unintended “bug/glitch” where someone can use tier 5 materials to level to 500 bypassing having to use tier 6 materials.
I personally have not duplicated this myself as most of my professions are maxed. There is a thread that details this with verification posts from a couple people stating it worked for them. This is at the following:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/Easy-lvling-up-from-400-to-500/first#post2979711
According to the wiki, tier 5 should stop giving CXP at crafting level 415. That’s assuming you use the max level in the range and not the minimum level like the notes for the formula states. I copied the relevant entry regarding CXP calculation and posted in the thread linked above. The source can be found at the bottom of the following link:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Crafting
While its likely too late to do anything for weapon craft leveling, hopefully this can be fixed before the armor crafting is implemented in the game.
The CXP gained when crafting a recipe is based on the experience required for the next level, scaled by the type of recipe you are crafting and how far your current level is above the required level for the recipe:
xp_gain(N) = xp_req(N+1) * multiplier * (1.0 – (N – N_min) / span)
where N is the your crafting level, N_min is the minimum level required to craft the recipe, and multiplier and span depend on the type of item being crafted. If you are span levels above the recipe’s level, you receive no CXP for it.
Type / Multiplier / Span
Refinement / 0.3 / 25
Part / 0.6 / 25
Item / Food / 1.4 / 40
Exotic Weapon. / 1.85 / 250
All of this is from the wiki. The mithril tier has a range of 300-375. Crafting 375 items gives you 0 CXP at 415. Clearly something it broken when they raised the level cap. The span in the table is how many levels that you should be able to gain by just crafting that item. You see refining only gives you 25 levels which we all know so it’s safe to assume that crafting items should only give you 40.
**I can’t format correctly on my phone so that table is going to look horrible in my post.

You can level doing map competition fairly quickly. This is what I did for six of my characters. You should average about 1.5 – 2 hours per map. It doesn’t really matter much if you’re new since after you’ve done one map, you’ve pretty much covered how all the others will be.
Go into the game then and type:
/wiki bag
It’s actually discussed in one of these threads. I’m not sure which one though.
Hmmm. I didn’t think they were supposed to give out EXP. I guess we’ll find out within the next couple of days whether that is true. Otherwise expect tier 5 materials for armor professions to go up.
