This Halloween living story is far from a grind. The only thing that could be considered close to a grind are the doors which can be done under an hour in the open world. If you’re doing it in the labyrinth then you’re doing it wrong (this assuming you’re trying to get them done as fast as possible).
Perhaps those complaining about grind should look at what we had to do last year.
Except you need to participate 8 times and each round takes so much time making it not worth it.

You’ll also make it so that new players or WvW players who have low ranking alts can’t join. The achievements that the PvE players are going for almost all directly help the server. The only exceptions I saw being the jumping puzzle ones.
I went into an overflow, participated, we lost, and I got credit.
Yeah, most require a single vial which you can get rather easily if you do the dredge fractal and have MF.
i am almost lvl 40 but.. what do t he meat kabobs do for learning cooking? just started learning cooking today so not sure if you mean for learning or something else
That’s for the heart/quest you have to do to get access to the vendor.
If you’re low level, just eat the meat kabobs.
Look up the mystic forge recipes but it’ll cost you a lot. I’d do it before ascended armor comes out and drives up the tier 6 materials (i.e. blood, poison sacs, bones, etc) any further.
Some sites have you buy ingredients so they can monopolize and make money off you. I only mention this because I made over 300 gold profit when people were doing the mad rush to hit 400 in crafting using guides.
I could’ve swore that it’s participation in a Tequatl fight or kill any of the world bosses. Similar to the other one where you just have to participate. I’d look up the actual achievement text except nobody has been updating their lists.
Go to heart of the mists and fight the NPC’s to the north
Can we get credit for the daily for sanctum sprinter when we cross the finish line instead of when the timer runs out? It’s a little annoying to wait for 2-3 minutes for the match to finish to get credit and you can’t really afk for long during that time or risk getting kicked from match.
MF increases the odds of a drop to end up as a higher tier in rarity. Lets say you have enough MF to triple your current odds. If your odds for an exotic were 1% then what do you think your odds would be with MF? I personally would only use MF to farm for crafting ingredients.
Op is a big fe… oh its not facebook/4chan
btw
Well i found them on wiki but on ingame. If nobody can find them how can you that is in the gem store..
Because that’s the most likely scenario unless there’s another half to the current living story.
You missed what I said in my post. Nowhere did I say players get legendaries for stats. And you missed the part where I stated my argument was valid for this thread. I suggest you reread my post.
Most likely the gem store like everything else.
So by the logic I’m seeing in here, one-handed weapon legendaries should require less materials than two-handed weapon legendaries.
On one hand you could argue that — but legendaries are really about the skin + effect, not the weapon itself. In addition, legendaries are not time-gated, so again doesn’t really apply to this conversation.
It doesn’t have to be a 100% match to the situation to still apply. The overall argument in the thread is that two-handed weapons and one-handed weapons should not require the same amount of effort (time + materials) to complete. I used the legendary example on a more higher level rather than the specifics.
Skin/effects vs stats really doesn’t matter. Both are desirable by players.
I notice that happened for Southsun all the time. It turns out there was a small update that was small enough to finish during the quick second that I was looking away from the screen when logging on.
A relief though since having nodes respawn in random locations everyday would kill farming or at least for those that play for the few hours after reset.
I prefer to skip him rather than waste time with pugs constantly getting downed. Now if I was in a group with people competent enough, that would be another story.
Different living story, different rewards. Just because the newest iteration is similar doesn’t mean you’re entitled to get the rewards from past living stories. This game has TEMPORARY events so I suggest you realize that there will be content that you will have missed or will miss in the future. I’m sorry but that’s how it works.
Do the dailies or spend the 5 minutes in the mists training area.
Or just ignore the achievement aspect and focus on what it has you do. Believe it or not, these have the purpose of having you experience all of the content.
Achievements are only a grind because players choose to make them so. In fact, everything in this game is a grind for that very reason.
So by the logic I’m seeing in here, one-handed weapon legendaries should require less materials than two-handed weapon legendaries.
It’s 5 laurels and you have it forever. All recipes are broken up by their stat combinations. I don’t really see the issue.
They nerfed it with the blue mists textures for players. I already miss the vanilla version.
Just pay attention to how you’re getting it and the try not to get it. It’s avoidable.
Must not have noticed the update when I logged on last night. I guess it had to hae been a very quick one to not have seen it.

Gone for the duration of Halloween event. He’ll be back by the laurel merchant in a few weeks.
It’s an achievement to defeat him in under a minute.
I wish you could skip the cutscene with each attempt if trying solo. Tired of the RNG with the candy buff on the floor.
Did they nerf it so the locations change every day or is someone trolling the gw2node site?

They’re working on an in-game summary of the living story like they did for the personal story.
Looks like they found another exploit. Any video of the fight so we can see what’s going on?
Sound good. Just make sure it doesn’t turn you violet and round when you get to the dessert…
No, it is the 2nd Email after you start the LS.
I’ll have to re-read it since I don’t see it posted up on the wiki yet.
You do. You go there to start the living story.
Most of the past living stories have revolved around receiving in-game mail that starts you off. You then follow what the dialogue says. There were also the heralds that were added to give hints in case players got stuck.

Sure there’s enough reason. It was a reward for an event during a LIMITED time. Just because the theme of the event occurs annually does not mean players are entitled to be able to get those items that are unique to that particular event.
If for some very unlikely reason that they do a living story next month that involves the Ancient Karka coming back to life and having to kill it again. Will you complain that you should be able to get that chest that everyone got last year?
It’s not worth farming as there are other methods that produce better results. Orichalcum ore and ancient wood log node farming provides better results compared to time spent (limited by how many alts you have). Frostgorge yields about 4 gold an hour and you can semi afk it; the jumping puzzle to cannot.
Bags will get cheaper by the end of the event which is what makes farming the jumping puzzle very inefficient.
Pretty much. This happens for just about every living story. I just looked at the patch notes again and they clearly state you can’t finish the second part of the living story until you complete the meta.
How about you petition for Anet to give players something like the pointy hands of infantile mode in SAB for people who cannot figure out what to do. Or an inventory item that tells you to go here, kill this, pick up this, and whatever. Or go to the extreme and add a button to get all achievements.
It’s not difficult to read the dialogue, read the mail, talk to NPC’s, etc ect.
my biggest was the lack of support for people who didnt get everything from last year. (the gemstore costumes) in my case
Completely different living story so why should be be able to get credit for a living story that was completed over a year ago? SAB is different as it is a game within a game.
Jump from the far right corner or the platform right when the lightning strikes. You’ll make it in every time.
The only grind are the doors since you have to do them in the labyrinth as outside the Mad Realm you mostly just get doors to the Mad Realm rather than events. Either that or the past 30 min I spent I had very very bad luck.
Yes. They added caps to infinite achievements otherwise people would just farm those all the time. Remember the guy with over 25k achievement points from salvaging?
You couldn’t play with friends before unless you happened to both enter the same instance.
you’re wrong, last year it was a normal pve location you could just join overflow with your party
I remember someone trying to join me for it last year and couldn’t so I don’t think so. I was in an overflow like every one else too.
A lot of those are capped at 50 points. You can click on the achievement to see the tiers and achievement point breakdown.
You couldn’t play with friends before unless you happened to both enter the same instance.
I did that solo on a level 5 toon so it was definitely not impossible to do.
You never could directly join with friends in any of the jumping puzzle instances (Halloween and Wintersday). You also couldn’t for any of the activities as well. I don’t see what the issue is.
