It’s better and more efficient to do it solo. I think most people stopped doing it once they’ve gotten their achievements and TM skins. Anet made it very anti-farmable this time around.

The skins were made specifically as a reward for doing tribulation. They were never meant to be sold and will never be able to be. If you don’t care about the skins then don’t do tribulation.

This was precisely why I rushed to get all of the achievements for it after the first time I fought the revamped Teq. I knew this was just going to be another Karka Queen. Actually, it’s going to be worse since it takes more than a guild to do and has a very high fail rate.

Not a true overflow with randoms. A lot of guilds/servers are using overflows as they’re easier to get people into rather than the main maps.

I had a similar problem, couldn’t get the “Join in” to show up for the main Vabbi even though I guested to Vabbi multiple times.

You cannot join a party member onto the main map of a server if you are not from that server. You must instead zone in and out until you get in.

To put it in another way: You cannot join a member if you are guesting to the server.

Overflows will not be a problem in a week or two. It only feels like it’s a problem because of how many people are trying to get into the main servers. You’d still have this problem if guesting were not available. If you ever farmed the world bosses then you would know.

In my opinion, Anet is likely hush hush about what’s going on because they know things will die down with the next living story update. People will focus on the Halloween content instead of trying to get into Sparkfly Fen. Servers can then organize freely to take down Teq. Guilds that were made specifically for this can as well.

I think it’s easier to do that achievement on normal. The amount of time saved by using the rainbow to scale the inner portion of the 1st mountain is lost by having to backtrack for keys.

I believe that the keys drop from the same enemies as they have for all of my attempts. The first key is dropped from the banana by the hidden shop and yellow bauble (not the one you see from checkpoint 1). The second key is dropped by the bear at the top of the first mountain who happens be standing on top of the area where the second chest is. The third key is dropped from the banana in the area where you have to knock down the large icicle before the spike room. The fourth key is dropped from a banana near the very end when you’re on your way to get the last yellow bauble. It’s the one right above the chest.

How can anyone call one of the most, and only, interesting fights with the best mechanics in the game ‘optional’?

That is ludicrous to say the least. That’s like saying it’s ‘optional’ to even play this game.

What’s ludicrous is that what you said isn’t even a valid argument. Teq is optional since the game can function completely without it just like it can without Dredge Commissar. Yes, the game is optional as well. What’s your point? I’ve seen other people use this very same statement and I do not see the rationale behind it.

This fight is not optional. It is a fundamental part of the game as it is Anet finally showing they may have the gonads to produce a real boss fight mechanic.

I think you may need to look up what fundamental means. Fundamental would be a basic aspect of the game such dodging, using your skills ,etc. A redesigned boss is not a fundamental part of the game. Neither is the revamped AC dungeon which your statement would apply to.

If you want someone to blame for overcrowding, stop blaming guests. They are players just like you. No better and no worse. Blame the real source of the problem: Anet development.

Yep. Don’t blame the motorists for the traffic, blame the city for not building larger highways. Don’t blame criminals for breaking laws, blame the lawmakers for making such constricting laws. Overcrowding is largely do to with guests who come to servers that have beaten Teq hoping for a free ride/handout.

It is not ‘elite’ by any means. The fight is not that complex or difficult. Frankly, the first mob in Molten Core vanilla WoW was more complex and difficult. The only thing making this fight difficult is Anet’s inability to manage servers properly and the deployment of the encounter.

Then all servers should be able to do this without any issues. In fact, they can as long as you have a few people that know how to do it and people can LISTEN to and FOLLOW directions. There is really zero need for TS other than to quickly say if you need help with turrets or to save time from typing.

Small servers are capable of filling out a map as there are more than 200 players on a server. Remember how Grenth used to require coordination and now most people know what to do? How about how people felt GL was impossible or incredibly difficult and now he’s a pushover?

Simple Fix to Turret Problem

in Tequatl Rising

It’ll add more coordination that will be needed. People will not be paying attention and you’ll have turrets not in use if no one doesn’t say anything.

When doing cliffside fractal, the hammer can often be dropped and remain there noticed because people are busy fighting or just not paying attention. This is what will likely happen. You’ll see someone go down but you won’t know they were on a turret. What’s to stop them from getting right back on the turret after they are revived?

Suppose you get someone competent on the turret, who will replace them once they get close to max stacks? Are there that many people who know what they’re doing and how to use the turrets effectively? How will you coordinate this on all six turrets?

I do not see them having one of the skills remove stacks if this were to be implemented.

Does magic find now affect boxes?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Ayrilana.1396

Ayrilana.1396

It doesn’t. Only loot dropped from enemies.

They only work on creature kills, chests however have a better table then normal kills. We wanted to avoid the game play of killing a boss and then having to equip your whole Magic Find set before opening the chest.

Also magic find is calculated from when the creature is killed so it’s also not viable to use your normal gear set kill a boss then switch to magic find.

1-2 Trib Mode Wurm Shortcut bugged.

in Super Adventure Box: Back to School

Posted by: Ayrilana.1396

Ayrilana.1396

If the design of Shortcut Worm was actually intended to be impossible, then the devs could have done what they did with Shortcut Eagle, and teleport the player back to the start of the map instead.

The eagle transported you there and the wurm is essentially a passage. Doing the same thing wasn’t possible.

Beating the Shortcut Worm is not a case of using buggy mechanics, exploits, or similar methods. You can beat it entirely with just basic jumping.

In Arah, you can bypass a lot of the level by using basic jumping. Whether you can do something with basic jumping does not mean something is intended. I am not saying taking the wurm shortcut is an exploit.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/sab-bts/Shortcut-eagle-TM-bugged
Read through both of his answers again, if after doign that u still can’t see that the shortcut worm was intended to be doable then idk what else they could say to change your mind.

Yes, that was the thread I’ve been talking about. Maybe you should re-read it as well? Nowhere does he say it was intended.

That entire thread is about how the eagle shortcut is not intended. The dev responded because it would not be very justice-y. Someone then brought up that the wurm has a strong sense of indigestion. which the dev agreed. Based on what the thread was about, you could assume that the it wasn’t intended since the wurm has a strong sense of indigestion that was supposed to prevent you similar to the justice with the eagle.

There was no direct response from the dev, yes. That does not mean it was an admission that it’s intended. I don’t see why they would allow one shortcut and not the other.

If they implemented extra traps inside shortcut wurm, doesn’t that automatically mean that they clearly DID want to make it an alternative route? It’s just a very hard alternative.

Unless you weren’t intended to get past them. That’s what part of my argument is about.

Look I didn’t want to get rude Ayrilana, but you’re a close minded fool if you don’t at least try this shortcut out for yourself to see if and how it works.

Many people on this forum including myself have posted saying that that the shortcut does ideed work. Its just rather lag punishing, but on a computer with good interet speed simply hug the left wall of the worm and its extremely easy for moderatley skilled people.

If you don’t bother to try this shortcut after making such bold remarks, then you’re making yourself only look more misguided and uninformed.

Nowhere did I say that it couldn’t be done. I said it was likely it shouldn’t to be doable. There’s a big difference. Before attempting to insult me, perhaps you should consult the dictionary and then read my posts again. Thanks.

They wouldn’t put avoidable traps inside the worm if it was not supposed to be used. They would have just put a huge trap at the entrance in front instead of creating an obstacle course that a player can go through.
No matter how you look at it, it was intended to be doable.

Unless they did not intend for you to get past the traps. This isn’t the first time people have found away around obstacles that were supposed to stop players.

Going by your logic, if they didn’t intend players to take the W2Z2 shortcut then they would’ve put up spike traps so you couldn’t get to it. However they did not put up traps and instead let you complete it which then ports you to the beginning after. They let you go through thinking you could take the shortcut and got “punished” for doing so. There’s no reason to think that they did not tempt you with the wurm shortcut and have it impassable near the end.

Only the devs know whether it was intended or not. They have not directly stated either direction. However, in the same thread about the eagle shortcut, it did appear that the dev seemed to be hinting that the wurm one was not intended to be doable.

There’s a difference between not able to and not supposed to. There were those clouds in w2z3 that people were not suppose to jump around but they could.

there is a trap at the entrance. there are traps throughout the passage. they thought about you using it. and they said “well do what you want if you get past these obstacles” by not putting spike traps on the worms face.

is it intended for you to be kitten out at the usual spot? should you be kitten out at the beginning of the zone instead? we cannot say, and you cant put those words in the devs’ mouths unless and until they “fix” it.

o.O

they patched the hole in 1-3 real quick, their response time isnt really lacking when they see an actual clear and unintended issue, like the worm would be if it were an issue. idk what youre talking about w/ clouds in 2-3 (but the silence on 2-3 baubles is troubling).

Likewise, you can’t put words in devs’ mouths and say it’s supposed to be. It’s no different than me going into SAB, getting my camera zoomed out, and then going to WvW to take advantage of it thinking it’s legit because it hasn’t been fixed yet. Inaction does not mean something is right just as it doesn’t mean something is wrong.

It is tribulation mode so there’s nothing stopping them from trying to trick you for thinking you could take a shortcut to bypass the level.
