2-3 player groups matched with solo players is NOT competitive with a 5-man guild squad. That’s a disingenuous statement at best.
It’s not a disingenuous statement if you read what they had said.
This has been how things are well before HoT. Typically those that are dead should WP.
If that is the mentality, then what is the point of the Ress system? As well as some of the events are to far from the WP to get back in time
Which events?
It is impossible for me to complete fast due to this:
I don’t understand?
The #1 skill is missing.
Just ran it. Gold is doable but the timer is even tighter now.
Oh, I just assumed that was a thing when I ran it today xD. Yeah I barely made silver lol.
Let’s hope that removing the #1 skill was just a bug.

I’ll do it later today since I need to get to the top for something anyway.
Anet does give a brief synopsis of S1 in game. This introduces the characters and sets things up for S2.
Just delete the mail and move on.
It pops up on your screen and you cant get rid of it.
Oh. You must mean the thing in the corner.

After the towers, which events did you actively participate in?
hi
i have been playing this game since beta and i did not get any precursor is that part of the game design or is it because you want us to buy it always coz i feel realy lost !You can craft your precursors now.
its cheaper to buy one from TP than to craft them XD…..
There are a lot where it’s cheaper to craft them.
When HoT first came out most precursors were cheaper to buy than to craft. But that’s because the price crashed shortly after precursor crafting was announced, as a result of a lot of people rushing to sell ones they’d been saving because they assumed crafting would be cheap and easy and bring the price down even more.
Have a look at these two for example: The Lover and Zap and you can see a big increase in sell listings and resulting drop in price in March 2015 when precursor collections were announced and again in November 2015 when HoT came out. (You will need to set the graph to display ‘all’ and hide buy listings as they make sales hard to see.)
At the same time (when HoT released and even before for obvious things like T5 and 6 materials) the demand for everything involved in precursor crafting shot up and as a result the prices rose.
Now things are starting to calm down the difference is less significant and some precursors have actually become cheaper to craft. Over time it will probably become roughly equal, although precursors from other sources and other things which need the same materials will continue to have an effect.
Zap costs 574G to craft with a buy order of 865G. The Lover, like most wood-based precursors, is better to buy on the TP.
Sorry I should have made that clearer: I was only using them as an example of the volume of sell orders jumping up and the price dropping when precursor collections were announced and I only used those two because they were the first precursors I remembered the name of.
They weren’t supposed to be examples of ones that are cheaper to buy, or cheaper to craft.
Oh ok.
If it wasn’t so sad this thread would be humorous.
Only one person has brought up the significant fact that rewards matter. The one question I have is if you consider yourself a hard core gamer, would you still play the harder content you enjoy if the rewards are the same as for casual content?
So is it the harder content you want, or is it the better rewards?
lets make sure we are discussing what really matters here.
It’s actually players wanting easier content rather than the other way around. Or at least that’s how I took it.
Have you watched the videos to see how people used the abilities?
You want to know what I don’t understand? How do casuals not complain about these ridiculous adventures. They’re fun to do occasionally but it is ridiculous that mastery points are gated behind them.
There are loads of threads about adventures too. And some of them are ridiculous for non-casuals too. You can be a pro raider and finish the second wing and still miss some adventure golds… usually the adventures with RNG are the worst offenders.
Fortunately, in order to max all masteries, they would only have to do five adventures now. I’m sure once LS picks back up, the number will drop even more.
The main problem with “casual v hardcore” is that games are made with this duality in the first place. When I was young you had one difficulty called “the f-ing game you just bought” and you either beat it or you didn’t. There were no difficulty settings.
Exactly. Unfortunately, the original game I bought was casual. The “hardcore content” is new.
So, the logical conclusion of this argument would be to dumb down raids and the new maps to make them as easy as dungeons and core Tyria. However, I don’t think this would make people happy, so this argument doesn’t really work here.
U ever played the original orr? there were 2 times more monster..and it was suuuuuuuuuper fun….so i just wanna have it back
but…since player enjoy the current orr..why not let both excist?
Lol original Orr was just stupid and annoying. You had to properly use condition cleanse and metal gear your way around. If not, you got stun locked to death. It was a challenge though.
Or… you know… you killed things.
So in normal mode – I say only ‘blues’ should drop at 300% MF.
Anything more would be outrageous.
Map progression should also be capped at 50%
All nodes (harvesting) should also be removed.‘Hard’ mode – has the existing MF Rate – and other stuff.
O___O normal mode should stay as it is…why punish player? thats nonsence…for me the fun alone is rewarding enough…sure it would be cool to get 3 rares in 1 h instead of 2…
Because they’re trying to do existing content at an easier difficulty

If there is a “normal mode”, it must have significantly less rewards than its “hard mode” counterpart. So if raids had a normal mode, the chances of getting any of the drops should be lower, collection items should not be 100% drop, and less shards are earned. Achievements also cannot be earned as well in “normal mode”.

I’ve deleted a few but only because I have used them to farm one-time rewards.
hi
i have been playing this game since beta and i did not get any precursor is that part of the game design or is it because you want us to buy it always coz i feel realy lost !RNG isn’t tied on time, it is tied on tries. So if you play a lot in short time you have better changes than playing very little over long time.
unluckily rng with computers is never real rng..bcs the system tend to go to the same nrs again and again..so there are really lucky acc and notlucky acc
No. There isn’t.
rng for machines is impossible..thats one of the first things electricengineers learn.
Doesn’t mean that there are lucky and unlucky accounts as a result.
I’d say don’t worry about that message that says you’re not participating. I think it is bugged. I’ve seen it pop up sometimes while I’m in the middle of fighting in the event it refers to. (And I still get credit when the event is done.) I’ve also seen it in reference to an event that I’d already completed minutes ago and got credit for.
I think it just impacts whether you get credit for it in regards to your participation bar. I’ve never paid much attention to it so I could be mistaken.
Not really sure what it impacts. I do know that the other day I left an event that I found to be long and tedious and didn’t care about the reward but eventually I got the event completion notification after the ‘no longer participating’ message and I still got gold level participation for the event.
I was referring specfically to the partcipation bar. In VB, I have defended a camp, left halfway through to defend another that had only one person, and got gold for both. Only one of them contributed to the progress bar.

Cause this new raid proves that timers are useless (Roid beat the first boss already) and it should be Mechanics based and not timers based.
Not really. In case you don’t know, all bosses have mechanics.
Yes I do know. And most of them can be better than they are now and more challenging.
How could they be better and more challenging?
What’s the basis that people are using to claim that DnT was reinvited? ATT and DnT were testing all three wings before the first one was released. Or at least that is what I gathered.
Just to bump this out of oblivion. Is there any news towards changes in scribing costs?
At least anything that can be shared if you don’t want to talk about it in detail yet.
I think the soonest we will see any changes will be with next month’s quarterly update.
is there a way to be a scribe without needing a GH?
Considering that the whole purpose for scribing is for the guild hall, outside a few consumables, I’d say no.
This has been how things are well before HoT. Typically those that are dead should WP.
Not always possible, and many times I have lost event participation by rezzing and running back.
Sometimes the nearest waypoint is a huge distance away so there may be no chance of you getting back before the event ends.
If the rez point is right by the event or close and there is a good time before it completes then it’s fine to run back, otherwise it’s not. Really people shouldn’t rez just because they can, you have to take everything into consideration and then decide. I rez if it is safe to do so and won’t negatively affect the event.
Then at one point I rezzed an anet dev, wouldn’t have avoided that for anything. Dev, I owns your soul, mwahahaha! >:D
Which events?

Wow. Just Wow. Dude.
I am just asking if there is timers for Raid 1 wing 2. Not your opinion on them.
The last part of your post came off as a critique on timers.
Or has Anet managed to make it about Mechanics and skill this time?
I like the pressure that timers bring rather than how long we can take fighting before we finally kill the boss.
My friends and I fractal daily with 2 or more players with no or very low AR including 56-67-77.
You can get away with it on swamp for what I consider most people if you do the standing on the <insert structure> thing.
You can do it without that. Just have to have capable members who know how to dodge and reflect the thrown axe.
Which you likely will not get with pugs. I probably should have clarified that bit in the post.
They’re not going to release spoilers. The wiki is also maintained by players.
You can’t click info on him because the page has not been created yet.

What Anet could do is move all mastery points to communes. This way players can complete all masteries without much effort.
In place of the mastery points that they removed from things, they can add a token specific to that activity, avhievement, or whatever. These tokens are used for another collection to gain access to craft HoT legendary weapons.
I found the content in HoT to be worth the price to me. I’ve also got at least twice as much entertainment out of it than I do typical console games that sell for more.
They should just create three or so servers and have them act as an isolated region like China. Everything would be incredibly easy to do, little to no RNG, and little to no grind. Essentially give the players complaining exactly what they all want.
It doesn’t need a win. You just need to wait until the cool down period goes away which will be 30 minutes past the hour after the defend event.
1. This isn’t a prediction but a reported financial result. On it being unaudited this would have been the result taken from the annual report for audit so being unaudited is almost irrelevant. If it wasn’t it would be a false statement and there would be legal repercussions.
You definitely don’t work in finance. This is just not true at all. Companies do many things, legal but sketchy, and accounting is not black and white just like economics findings are not “right and wrong”. Model and method are everything and you would be surprised what tales you can weave by postponing this or recognizing that in a crafty way.
I would say the same about you, I work in accounting, so I know about public company reporting requirements and the requirements regarding public information that may affect markets.
Regardless, despite the assertions to the contrary, prima facie the figures are bad wouldn’t they do the opposite if they wanted to use unaudited figures to make themselves look good.
“Good” and “better” are very different terms. Outright lying is not a business savvy way to do anything but my goodness can you shift values from godawful to “not impressive”.
If you are actually an accountant who does auditing I’m surprised you’ve never seen this.
Not everyone is as corrupt as you make them out to be.
I wouldn’t factor cost into the equation. Honestly if your worried about cost, I would only do the precursor thing on the new leg weapons, as the old ones, its cheaper to outright buy the pre. I find I just like a weapon and after eventually looking at the skin long enough I decide to make it.
Not true for many of them.
While skill helps, there are some AR checks that you cannot avoid.
Berserker Runes go toward outgoing damage which is what you see on screen. Sigil of Bursting increases the condition damage stat.
GW2BLTC let’s you see. The wiki also let’s you do something similar as well.
Players got use out of them when World 2 was active. It would be appalling for people to get refunds for things that they have already used.
SAB will be back. No release schedule was given at the time that the infinite coins were available for sale. Two data points are hardly a trend so it being released in April of that year and then later in September isn’t relevant.
I personally have no problems with players getting refunds under one single condition. They are forever excluded from buying (or receiving as a gift) that item again.
That’s ridiculous. If you buy a gaming console, and a week later it breaks down, you aren’t forbidden from complaining because you “got use from it”.
While yes two data points are not enough to say that “We were guaranteed use every six months”, it has been two and a half years. That’s way beyond reasonable expectation.
Your last comment is frankly just spiteful. Why the heck should people be banned from repurchasing the product again? If they’re willing to rebuy it, then clearly they weren’t just paying for use in September 2013. Your system exclusively punishes the people who weren’t buying it for the function that was actually provided.
There’s a difference. The gaming console is something that broke. It’s not something that’s available for a limited time.
Two and a half years being unreasonable is debatable. They had clear explanations for why it was not available and periodically kept us updated that it was still in the plans to continue releasing the remaining worlds.
It’s not spiteful. It’s to eliminate people from buying the coin, using it while SAB was active, and then asking for a refund later so they can purchase something else with the gems. When the next world is released, they can do the same thing again. They would essentially be getting use of the item for free. Anet has stated that new world will be released. If players are willing to re-buy the coin later then they can just be patient and wait.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
It isn’t even “Soon” any more. Just “Someday”.
People paid real world cash two and a half years ago to play SAB. It’s really appalling that they still refuse to give refunds.

I find it curious that Anet has this big “sale every day” promotion going on. With hints that they might bring back much anticipated items. Convenient that this massive “sale” is happening right at the end of the first quarter.
They’ve been saving gem store items away so they could trot them out when they needed a financial boost to make their numbers look better.
No holds barred, so long as the numbers look good. Fools the investors every time.
Many companies do sales near the end of a quarter or year. It’s nothing unusual.
