Charr = Warrior/Engie / Guardian /Rev
Norn = Ranger / Warrior / Guardian
Asura = Engie/ Thief / Mesmer
Human = Anything (But Warrior because if you pick Warrior you’re automatically Logan tier)
Sylvari = Elementalist / Ranger
Rev is class-neutral.

Basicly, you would cast shortbow 5 at your feet and right after it has finished channeling, while the arrow is still in the air, you hit dodge. This will make you dodge without moving any direction, allowing you to get any damage or post-dodge bonus without changing your position.
I nailed it with every dodge, but it is quite hard to pull of every time. Might be worth learning since a complaint about DareDevil was that you couldn’t in fact dodge in place.
Pretty sure it’s also not really intentional. But maybe if its explored enough it could see some use?
you can also do this with less initiative by using SB3 and the action camera.

If you want a kick, run trapper runes for free backstab and improv for free resets. might on trap/vuln on trap makes knockdown cd sync with every steal on trickery trait.

There is literally no way to -make- Arena net fix warriors and thieves, as there is no way to both provide metric data showing that they need a fix -and- imply with that same data that the game will be forever changed for the worse if they don’t do anything about it. People don’t just stop playing because of this, they just reroll to the stronger classes, and that metric data can easily be seen as overwhelming satisfaction with those classes as opposed to greater dissatisfaction with the others.
And the dev team doesn’t speak on the forums because every other post is either aggressively belittling them or the job they do, possibly.
So. Yeah. Whatever.
Quit and do nothing or stay and do nothing. Kinda bullkitten that the only two classes I am interested in have been reduced to fodder by people that can’t play, but the wheel turns. It’s astounding that classes are either useless or guarantee free kills with Arenanet, but I frankly have no interest in determining how much of that is player bias anymore.

Thief needs more nerfs, it can still kill afk players.
You could compare the fact that if thiefs are taken off SR you will instantly waste a 60 seconds CD… Idk if gyro stealth resets if you manage to do the same with a Eng.
This is what I’m talking about. I didn’t feel I’d need to specify that forcing a squishy class to remain in a static field for a set duration solely to gain the major benefit of that field (because blasting your field is situational use at best.) is worse than a mobile field that reapplies stealth as long as it is active, on a 20 second CD (because when gyro is destroyed it can be popped again in 20 seconds.)
With reveal being prevalent in addition to the less important knockbacks that could also ruin SR, its a bit irritating to see an option that is situationally more useful supporting a tankier class, I’ll be blunt.
I’m not saying that the engineer’s toy is bad, frankly its fun to fight, has a reasonable counter and has its uses, but with that being the case, why is our refuge so niche in comparison?

Sure, you can -see- the gyro if its being used as an opener, but the element of surprise is still carried if the engie is transporting friends.

Funny how readers often mistaken the intention of the OP.
Just to be clear, the OP wants all these “Thief Counters” to be nerfed illustrating how unbalance these anti-Thief skills currently are.
I agree on most, but not all, especially about the 2 point strat — I’ve seen this too many times. When a team refused to rotate, thus 2 point strat, the Thief’s mobility becomes useless since there will be nothing to decap.

Most of us are bitterly sarcastic and spiteful because, instead of our balance team defending the playstyle and mechanics of the Thief class against the players who can’t tell the difference between a rock and an apple, they sided with them and endorsed their complaints instead, to the point that we can’t even enjoy pve content.
But yeah, don’t feel bad for us now; cause people sure as hell didn’t feel bad about gutting us when we could actually win fights by using a couple of brain cells.

As was said above, we cant benefit from Alacrity without suffering from a slowdown condi too, and the only way we can benefit from Alacrity is if a mesmer specifically casts it on us.
meanwhile there are sigils, runes, and classes that have access to chill.

An OP class is a class that, in most general combat situations, outperforms the other classes by a reasonable margin.
So far I do not think we have classes like that.
we have the majority of classes that do well across the board, and then a couple that just dont do much of anything.

The trait and Signet only refill 2/3s of endurance when DD is traited. Endurance should be buffed to 150 endurance gained to compensate for DD’s Third dodge?

The Topic is not against Rev actualy.
I play Rev also (but main thief), and while looking at their forum noticed this guy claims, first I laugh hard at it, then after that I starting thinking if people will always be like this regardless of class viability or “overpowerness”.
But I shared with you guys most for the Irony on it, for the lols.
I mean, one could say some Rev skills are bad, or need works, one could also point lots of examples on game to try to make the first claim a valid one.

Yes, rev is good, but let’s not go bombarding other class forums like everyone does to us.
And you can’t tell me you believe that GW2 is designed as a game with no roles. That marketing ploy was specifically targeting Tank/Healer/DPS roles in traditional MMOs. Any game mode, especially PvP, is going to develop niches that require certain attributes to succeed. You want to hold points, so you put someone tanky on the point to survive. Bunkers are born. You need to be able to kill bunkers, so theoretically, Assassins (or whatever you want to call them) are born. You probably need to rotate and support fights effectively, so Roamers are born. Some classes can potentially fill multiple roles to varying degrees, so you get middle-grounders such as Bruisers who can absorb damage but still fight without being impotent. Since each class is unique, a distribution is going to develop.
I was addressing the trinity archetype in my comment about roles, but I lacked explanation on the following.
As it stands now, thief does not have the capabilities to fill any role -but- the +1 /backcap that they fill now, because bruiser specs are nonexistent, tank specs are nonexistent, and assassin specs lack the sustain to deal with the above two when applied to thief. we’re 100% roamer and because of that thieves can only combat efficiently when there are additional players.
This is essentially the problem we need rectified. We don’t have the baseline values required to build in a way that allows us to be combative in the current meta on our own.
It is amazing as there are realy a few things that rev can’t do that could be used as examples…
But the fact he used DD reflect on AA almost makes me thing he is some thief trolling on Rev forum.

You’re missing the point.
Right now, Thieves cannot fight without adds. It isn’t fair to them to insist that because they have the option to traverse obstacles if they take a specific weapon, they should not be allowed to be a capable opponent for decapping a contested point or even defending a pre-owned one. That’s like a teacher saying that because a student can finish a quiz quickly, he has to get a set amount wrong.
You don’t punish a class’s fighting potential in a game where there are supposedly no roles by stuffing them into a role. I don’t know how the game would change if thieves could actually contest points, but it certainly isn’t entertaining or engaging for the people that play thief that are looking for action.
Thieves should have the potential to win fights against skilled players, baseline, in 1v1. being able to fight should not be a privilege that automatically is stripped if you can move quickly, at the cost of all dps, mind you. If you have a specific weapon, mind you further.
Maybe some talented players will be able to take that option of 1v1 potential and turn into complete monsters at the game, but if that skill level is reached then monstrosity is deserved, for any class. And this is 1v1 we’re talking about. Send two people to a point and the problem is resolved.

The devs are quiet and thief is horrible because there’s a large-scale experiment going on where they buff classes with the same mechanics that players complained about thief having to see if these players still find it unfair once they are on the dealing end.
