How to report an untargetable enemy?

That’s not true Kuru. They will infract people who post negative comments about the lack of action on the many instances of reported behaviour:-)

Why arn't people angrier?

It appears that the only people that read these forums are the mods who infract and delete posts that are overly critical or display anything in a bad light.

So posting posts that are critical of the complete lack of communication, development or any feedback on wvw won’t get us anywhere, which is why so few people bother to post anymore.

I have no desire repeating stuff what has been said several times by now. Do your homework and get your facts straight.

And yet there were major story parts of LS1 that was “locked” behind using Aspects (in a much higher amount than the current one) how was that more optional than this was?
I have never actually gotten any answer to that question.

I think why this problem is now rearing it’s head is the fact that they have stated that ‘the joy of movement’ aka 40 year old boring tedious game mechanic popularised by SMB is going to be a major part of LS2. For most that don’t like jumping, LS1 was ok as you could ignore it, and the one personal story step that involved jumping could be tried a few times a day, then go back to it a week later for a few more tries, and then just don’t bother with any other toon. Maybe I just don’t like jumping games as I grew up when they were first around and I found them tedious, unstimulating and not something that appealed as they seemed to be made for the easily amused.

As they are now effectively making it mandatory if you wish to progress the LS2, this is why so many have now felt compelled to post. No doubt there are many others who feel the same way but don’t like collecting infraction points. As there are no doubt many who like having even more platform gaming in the game instead of being optional jump puzzles.

Making anything timed just adds to the lack of enjoyment for many, and is another weak mechanic used by lazy developers in many games.

I like jumping and jumping puzzles, and I hope they won’t get removed either.

But that said, I do agree that perhaps an “Infantile” mode to get around the map is needed for those who, for whatever reason, are just not capable of using the Aspects or jumping. The vine walkways/ladders, or maybe a balloon pilot who takes you to different locations for a fee (he does it for free once you complete an event where you help him), are some possible ideas.

What do you mean by “Infantile”? What does it compare to?

I think he means add more jumping to the game so that it resembles a platform game that 2 year olds like to play..oh wait, they did that already.

We don’t like jumping, for whatever reason. It adds nothing but frustration and feels like a complete waste of time to some of us, who would rather not spend our short and valuable leisure time replaying something out of a infantile platform game. It’s a cheap mechanic being used to cover up the lack of actual content in the latest patch- let’s face it, making a platform game is a lot easier than coding a good new MMO event or three, otherwise Guild Wars would have been made before Super Mario Bros.

Don’t like jumping of the sort that has been inserted here, reliant on gimmicks. EoTM has some nice jumping in it with lots of level changes, without relying on some gimmick that deletes all your skills for the duration and makes GW2 into a platform game.

Changes in elevation, multiple levels, etc can all be achieved by other means than cheesy platform style jump mechanics.

Jump. Puzzle. 2. welcome to. Glad to see basic jump (ie platform games) making a comeback, no idea why they bothered with skills, combat etc when all they do is add jump puzzles and call it LS2.

SAB was a big hit and it was just a glorified platform mini game.

Labyrinthine cliffs was the same but only with aspects.

Seems the players want more of these added. For now I’ll stick to WvW and maybe in the next 3 years we will get something to do there other than facing the same servers over and over ad nauseam.

Only three years? You’re a bit optimistic on that. Maybe they will surprise us in a few years and announce GvG maps, 10v10, 15v15, 20v20 league tables and stimulate the real pvp that could be good in this game. By then of course all us wvw’ers will have given up after getting new content and they will entice us back by making it an expansion that needs to be paid for.

Roll a guardian, they tag everything, you can get piles of ‘kills’ whilst spamming 1 and before you know it you’re in the train with 10’s of thousands of ‘kills’.

Playing ele takes a bit more skill and tends to tag a lot less as you’re not in fire dealing damage as much, more in water casting healing fields, static, blasts, etc, and you need to be able to follow the group and do the right thing at the right time, which can take a lot of practice, and ofc ts is a must.

. This is the best Living Story stuff yet… feels like a real Mario clone jumping puzzle rather than grindfest.

There, fixed that for you. You can all the jumping you could possibly want in a game that has a 2+ age rating, no need for all the skills, combat or anything else.

Perfect example: Nexxe.
He doesn’t like this release format and is expressing as much. Many other people do, and more still will be converted and start liking it.

Or people will get fed up and just leave quietly, frustrated at the endless jump puzzle LS additions and lack of meaningful character, skill, map, wvw development.

Not all of us want to play a platform jumping game. As I’m a little older than average, perhaps this sort of leaping about (the sort a 6 year old might enjoy endlessly) gets tiresome really fast.

And once again the mobs, etc drop nothing, all rewards are tied to event completion, which I consider a step backwards.

The entrance quest seems designed for zerk warriors/guards, and the tedious mumblings of the NPCs add nothing, especially as you can’t skip through them to some action. Again, nothing drops from the mobs, and the boss mob spawns lots of little adds that are very easy for a zerk warrior to use stability and wipe them but not so much fun on more balanced builds.

Hopefully LS2 will progress past Jump Puzzle 2 and contain some actual content that doesn’t involve using crystals to jump about and mobs that drop nothing.

Guess the feedback from the completely dead Pavilion didn’t reach them in time…

Have to agree, the time gating makes no sense at all- and comes as a nasty surprise to anyone wanting to craft celestial gear if they didn’t plan ahead- wait a month and you can make some gears!

63 stacks does seem excessive- did you lose a bet to become guild storage of quartz?

Minimum lvl requirement for wvw?

in WvW

Baldrick.8967

I kept a lvl80 thief busy on my upscaled lvl38 mesmer yesterday- in the end he got so bored not being able to gank players coming out of our respawn that he respawned himself. And I also got to time my dodges based on his skill use which will help in full wvw in due course.
Also, with 900+ ranks, I can happily man siege.

However, I only go into main wvw if I’m getting ready to switch to my current main (staff ele), otherwise for levelling, karma etc it’s WAY better to be in EoTM, so i tend to level new toons in there.

More surprising is the huge number of lvl80 toons that are clueless about their class and can’t even stack, blast or bring group utility skills along.

Please don’t give them the impression that wvw would benefit from any more LS rubbish as they might take you up on it. The vast majority of wvw’ers have already given a firm NO to any LS or other pve content in wvvw- but that didn’t stop them last time…

Agree, it misses so many amounts of damage, perhaps if they fixed it so that it actually records the damage you receive it would be a good start. At the moment it even misses when I go from 12k hp to zero instantly (or maybe that’s a different problem), nothing shows up but I’m down on my butt waiting for the stomp.

Why arn't people angrier?

in WvW

Baldrick.8967

People aren’t angrier any more because 1. any post expressing an adverse opinion about Anet is deleted and the poster is infracted (then banned for longer periods of time) and 2. because after a while they realise there is no point in their expressing their anger and they either quit the game or play it a lot less until something else comes along.

Hence why the forums feel so luuvvy-dovey:p

Will You Be Playing GW2 Less Post Patch ?

Less. I can’t face refiguring where I had all my traits on ten different toons that they so thoughtlessly reset. So i’m stuck on one toon, and I get bored just playing one. Also, a certain other game is more interesting for me at the moment.

Before: hit 25% in a pile of grief, wipes condis, chance of surviving if no huge lag in wvw.

Now: hit 33%, pile of grief still there, downed before condis end .

Huge nerf to a very useful skill.

Let me know when you put back my traits to where they were- I really can’t face redoing 10 sets of traits when I had different builds than the cookie cutter norm.

Every change they make in this game completely ignores multiple alt playing people (statistically we’re the most likely to use the gem store btw).

I found something cool today- the realisation that I really can’t be bothered redoing all my traits on all my toons all over again when i can’t remember where I had my traits before (weren’t cookie cutter builds so can’t just copy from some site), and i’ll go play something else apart from popping on with my engi to complete dailies.

Oh and a 50% nerf to my condi removal skill, ty Anet.

All traits reset on 10 toons

Terrible. Why? it’s free now for those that want to, why have you reset traits on all my various alts?
Where’s the button to put them all back the way they were and tweak where i want to?
I don’t even have most of them written down, so now I have 10 or so level 80 alts without traits that I have to spend time trying to remember my builds on.
And pve to unlock traits, or pay 3 gold, not great for wvw players (but that’s par for the course).
