Hiya Ville,
I help run Fools N Gold [FNG] on TC. We are a very small but tight-knit casual-adult group. We are almost always on our Mumble server chatting and hanging out. I will be honest with you that during the weekdays the guild might be a little slow during your preffered time. On the other hand it’ll fit perfectly with us on the weekends!

Hi Spencer!
I help run a small but tight-knit PvX guild, Fools N Gold [FNG] on TC, that is a casual, adult and a social guild. We are always on our Mumble serving chatting and helping each-other. We have added a few new players over the last few weeks and the more the merrier!

I help run a pretty small but tight-knit PvX guild called Fools N Gold [FNG] on TC. We make heavy use of Mumble for social purposes and have a few experienced players and a guild bank full of goodies to help new players. We have just brought in a few new players as well and we have been busy helping them level and learn.
Late afternoon to early evenings is our peak activity during the week but we have a few early morning folk as well. Over the weekend we get all crazy-like with coffee and Oreos and stay up all night usually.

SirDibblet! (bows),
We are Fools N Gold [FNG] of Tarnished Coast. Established over 2 years ago during the GW2 Beta Weekends with a group of friends that have met and bonded together in other online games consisting of DDO, GW1, D3 and SWTOR. We are a very small but a tight-knit bunch of casual-adult gamers. We wouldn’t be able to do WvW together but we could team up for everything else.

Everyone in my guild loves JP’s! Even the players who struggle greatly with jumping. Sure there might be swearing and things thrown but with some alcohol and friends (misery loves company!) they can be pretty fun:D
We spent about three hours doing the latest SW JP and we were lost almost the entire time. It was an explorers dream come true! As a guild we will never forget nights like those:-)
The release of a new traditional expansion with a new continent, new 5 man content, new Heavy Armor Proffesion, and new playable race.
Would you like mounts on top of that? Oh and maybe capes?
Mounts usually don’t go on top:P Not to mention with all the suds & Dolyak meat my Norn ladies consume I would hate to see what they’d look like if they sat on their butts all day!
On a more serious note though capes would be a nice touch. We have quivers along with new fancy back pieces and capes would really go well with some of the current armor looks. Not too mention a nice nod to GW1 where capes were hip and cool;-)
Meeting new people and making long term friends.
More maps like DT & SW. Zones that push the community to work together and involve difficult encounters is always welcomed.
More LS2!
Possible news about an expansion involving Cantha would be welcomed!
What a fun game you have here.
I totally agree. And it’s Buy-to-Play! (B2P)
If you ever need a hand in game just look me up:-) Game on!
- Maplestix
Maybe ANet can make WvW map completion purchasable in the gem store:P ANet profits and carebears get their easy mode.
No changes are really needed though. Follow the wisdom posted by a few of the above posters and you can succeed. My friend and I (this was a long time ago when TC wasn’t known as a WvW server) just picked “dead” times and threw a cata down and two manned several towers. Swiftness & stealth ftw.
Find others and group up. More the merrier!
Everyone against OP is basically demanding that you do a mindless farm in the same two areas instead of actually playing the game the way you want to play.
….yeah….how about no.
Dungeons, node gathering, meta-events, champ farming, Dry Top, SW and Orr event farming and playing the TP are just some of the things you can do off the top of my head.
There is no rush to get ascended or legendary items. Take your time and have fun. The end game gear is not needed to play and enjoy the game.
Happy hunting!
Edit: I forgot Southsun and Fractals. Even Guild Missions and WvW can award ascended accessories.

Fools is still seeking fun oriented gamers to join our small club!
For the past two weeks we have been focusing on JP’s and we only have a few left on our achievement list. We also have been catching guild members up on LS2, doing AC runs to help our new players level, farming SW and mapping Orr for our new level 80’s.
Our peek time is weekdays from 4pm to 8pm EST and all night (as long as the coffee & Oreos last) over the weekends. Come socialize with us on our Mumble server and break Oreos with us;-)

Kinda hard to take you seriously when you just throw random numbers around. Full light armor sets costs less than 600g to craft and considering how easy it is to get money these days it’s not that much.
The exact number is irrelevant, the core to the OP’s message is true. 1,500g or 600g, that’s way above the average player’s reach. Certainly way above mine. You may not be one of the “rich investor” types, but if you’re able to get 600g with ease, you’re certainly not in the majority either.
I make about 500g or so a month, work 50+ hours a week and help guild members level and so on. The average player should have no problem making 150 to 200g a month if they focus on it. 3-4 months for a full set of end-game ascended armor is very doable. I can do one full set every 2 months.
Do Tequatl & Karka Queen once a day. Hang out a lot in Dry Top and Silverwastes. Do champ farming and or speed dungeon runs. Gather everything. Break everything down. There are a lot of ways to make gold in the game.
New players I recommend you find a good guild and make friends in it. Find the farmers. Watch, listen, follow and ask them questions. Be goal oriented and work on those goals.

Exactly this^^ My friend started playing in August and just finished her first full set of ascended armor for her ele the other day. She also has an ascended weapon. She works 40 hours a week, does WvW and jumping puzzles. Has no idea what a speed dungeon run looks like and still has trouble dodging. But she knows how to farm and what and when to sell.
If she can do it anyone can if they set their mind to it.
You can get bezerker exotic armor from the Grenth temple karma vender but remember you can’t salvage karma gear so any runes used can’t be taken out again. Dungeons are a great way to get exotics as you also make gold while farming them. You can craft armor but it can be costly to do so.
Good farming spots are champ farming in Frostgorge, Orr and hanging out and doing events in Dry Top or Silverwastes. I prefer Silverwastes myself but to each there own. Speed clearing dungeons can net you wealth and playing the TP is another method to making gold. Meta-events like Tequatl is also yummy.
I run the same build on my PvE centric Mesmer as well. I use zerker gear with scholar runes with just exotics. If you feel too squishy throw in a few soldier accessories. Great build for PvE but I would look up other builds for WvW depending on if you roam or Zerg (PU Mesmer).
I also recommend holding off on ascended until you create a sizable cache of gold and mats. By this time you can play with different builds and find the right one for you to invest in for ascended.
I agree it can be annoying. What I tell my friends is to go minimal settings for huge meta events they DC at (Tequatl). When they remember to do this they don’t DC. Good luck.
For those complaining about the Sylvari taking centre stage they’re the race we know the least about and the LS is about the Jungle dragon which has explicit ties with the Sylvari. To me it’s a no brainer. Also Sylvari have always been my least favourite race, but atm I’m coming to appreciate them more and more for what they are and that wouldn’t be the case without the LS
I totally agree. Some of my guild has said the exact same thing. Not a fan of the race but beginning to understand them more. Also, I find the Norn taking center stage a lot in my stories. Then again most of my characters are Norn;-)
I found the new set of skills on Caith to be refreshing and fun. Just too cool in wrecking an entire room of large rats…err Asurans in OP mode! Very happy with LS2 so far.
I have 9 level 80’s and xp is easy enough to get as it is. Form a guild leveling group, pop xp boosters/buffs and explore/clear maps. Focus on mobs off the beaten path and fight mobs a few levels above you.
Meta events also grant a ton of XP if you pick the right ones. You can gain almost an entire level doing Tequatl.
Gather everything you see. Craft if you feel like it. Do a different story path from your other alts.
It’s just too easy as it is.
Hi Jaden!
I run a small but social-adult guild on TC. If you don’t mind small guilds we can be a good home for you if you enjoy using mumble and having fun. You can check out our forum page here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/recruitment/Fools-N-Gold-FNG-on-TC-PvX-Adult-Casual/first#post4602516

Female Norn ftw! Cool cultural armor, ski-lodge like environment in Hoelbrak, the weapons are bigger so legendaries stand out more, tattoos, close affinity with nature and the female Norn are just beautiful creatures. Everyone should have one or two or three!
Simple: throw it away. After I completed Mawdrey that’s what I do with all that “stuff” on my alts when they complete their LS. Now how hard was that.
Both of the new maps, especially SW, are much more difficult than what we’ve seen before. If I’m not on my game in SW I can go splat pretty quickly. So if that’s a sign of what’s to come than I’m happy with the direction ANet is taking the difficulty.
Also, this is B2P so if you feel burned out just take a break. Plenty of other fun games to enjoy out there. We’ll be here open arms when you feel like coming back!

If a ranger wants to kitten themselves in combat by stowing their pet then i see no harm in perma-pet stowage. Just no buffs for stowing a pet. Rangers are a pet class and I totally enjoy having them that way.
For JP’s I find small birds is the way to go;-)
Your best bet is to find a guild and hopefully make some friends there. Check out the guild forum section here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/recruitment

If you’re looking for a small tight-knit group to play GW2 with in a casual-adult atmosphere then I hope we can fulfill your needs. We are a VOIP heavy guild as we enjoy socializing on our mumble server.
We are also pretty small so don’t come in expecting heavy activity at all times of the day. Our high activity is in the evenings and sometimes in the mornings. Over the weekends we put in some late nights too.
If you’re a new player we have a handful of experienced players and a guild bank full of helpful items to ease you into this fun game.
We do have a raw and “work-in-progress” website up: http://www.fools.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=505875&TabID=4350523
Fools has been around for over two years now and if you’re looking for a laid back place to hang your hat up after work then give us a shot!

Hardly any new content?!!!!!!!!! look at what other Sub based MMO’s (looking at you WoW) put out in their first 2 years and GW2 is either on par with them or blows them out of the water. All for free!!
And if you think GW2 is exceptionally buggy then you must be new to the MMO genre. It’s about the same with any other MMO I have played. Especially with new patches.
In 2 yrs wow had an expansion not some gimmick LS
Every game is buggy, but anet takes forever to fix them.
“The game was released on November 23, 2004, on the 10th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise. The first expansion set of the game, The Burning Crusade, was released on January 16, 2007.” – Wikipedia
So about 2 years and 2 months and they were charging you about $180 a year for 2 years ($360) with no updates what-so-ever.
Yes, I think most of us want an expansion and if by this time next year we still have no news of one I might grab a pitchfork and join you. But for now they have been doing a good job pushing out content free of charge.
The great thing about no sub fee is if you want to take a break from the game you are not burning any money! Play something else and come back to unlock your LS. It’s a win-win. All my games are B2P and I love them that way.

How did you acquire the gemstone?
Exhibit A of entitlement mentality. Go to lfg. Type in the following:
‘lfg x content, nomad gear/condition builds only. slow roleplay walk only. No skipping. Watch all cutscenes. No zerker elitists.’
You too can PHIW.
I’d recommend having a book on hand though. You’re going to be waiting a long, long time.
Walking? Yea a book can be handy but for filling the group you’d be surprised at how fast something like this can fill. My guild will sometimes advertises somewhat like this minus the walking and zerker part;) We always fill in short time.
But I do have a problem with this game which was supposed to be “play as you like” forcing players to do things they don’t like to do.
Who says you have to do the JP? I don’t get your point…
This Zerker meta has to end. It has killed the diversity too long. This game has such a unique build system, and you should truly be able to play how you want. However, unless you have a pre made, then people will kick you. Start building your toon the way you want to!
I’ve never been kicked for having the “wrong” build and only 2 of my 9 lvl 80’s run full zerk. Be more selective with who you hang out with. In essence I do play the way I want!
My friends and I just spent the last 2+ hours in this puzzle and it was so much fun:D So thanks for all the hard work that was put into this explorers dream of a puzzle!
It’s not the destination that matters but the journey to get there. Well done!

Thanks for all the great responses! I will get the ball rolling then.
Veteran here and after leveling two new alts to lvl 80 I think the idea of unlocking traits via events is just fine. Hop around the world and get the “must have” traits and it was even cool seeing parts of Tyria I haven’t been to in a while.
If you feel lazy or whatever just pay up. The only real complaint I see is that some of the required events are pretty difficult like the champ grub in WvW. So maybe some tweaking is in order. In GW1 we had to hunt down champs to learn their elite. Fun stuff.
The real problem with traits is that they have little to no use until level 80. I honestly don’t pay them much attention until then.
Personally I’d have no problem with a hunt for grandmaster traits, but I really feel that having to hunt ALL traits is pointless for every character. It simply limits build testing, especially for new players. They don’t have the gold/skills points to buy the traits, they have to go to a 3rd party site to find out how to get the traits, or they have to try to do things far above their level. It’s bad design. Traits SHOULD matter before level 80.
I wouldn’t mind a compromise and that sounds reasonable. That would still fulfill the “spirit” of elite skill hunting from GW1. But for build testing the best place to do that is sPvP. I understand that will still alienate the non-pvpers though.
Hello!
Fools N Gold [FNG] is a very small tight knit PvX (NA) guild on Tarnished Coast. We focus on an adult casual environment. Most of our socializing is done on our Mumble server and since most of the guild works our primary activity is in the evenings (EST) even though we also have a morning group forming now as well. We are always talking on Mumble about tv shows, books or something going on in-game.
Since we are a TC based guild we can’t do WvW together but we can maybe be a good home for you for everything else.
I hope you find the right home and happy hunting! If you have any follow up questions please pm/mail me in-game.

A friend of mine wants to join me on TC for WvW action. He had heard that if he deleted all his characters he could jump onto TC for free. I told him that sounded fishy. So what’s the best solution for someone who has no gems and wants to transfer to a high population server?

Hi Octavian,
If your looking for more of a small adult-casual environment than maybe a PvX guild like Fools N Gold might interest you. We don’t have a large group of vets but myself and a couple of others have been active in the GW universe since 2005.
Most of our small community are new players like yourself so we have been busy helping them. We are a VOIP guild so most of our social activity is on our Mumble server. We have a couple of morning players but most of our activity is in the evenings.
Good luck in your search and if you have any follow up questions feel free to pm/mail me in game.

Hi Tarquin Duskmane,
I run a small PvX casual adult guild on Tarnished Coast. Being on different servers we won’t be able to do WvW together but everything else is available. Half the guild is 30+ in age and we take a more laid back & fun approach to gaming. Most of us dislike typing ourselves meaning we are almost always on our Mumble server. My fellow officer and I have been helping a couple of new players of late and would love to help you as well.
Our prime activity is in the evenings but we do have a very small group in the mornings sometimes as well.
If interested or have any more questions feel free to pm/mail me in game.
Good luck in your search!

Rangers are… relaxing to play in open world PvE, but they’ve got nothing going on anywhere else.
Ranger got nothing going on anywhere else? lol :p
Ranger is pretty good in PvP (some argue OP, in certain cases). Especially in soloq.
Totally agree. Rangers are pretty good in a lot of the games content. I have no problems doing wvw roaming, dungeons or fractals. Stay away from the meta and enjoy playing whatever and how ever you like.
Like others have said. Try both classes as they can be very different but both enjoyable in their own right.

8 lvl 80’s
2 100% map completion
Have a few more getting close and all 8 plus my new lowbie have WvW fully mapped. WvW just too easy to map with friends and the right build(I would like to thank Mag and FA!).
It’s always fun finding lore or areas I had forgotten about. Will have all 9 characters at 100% eventually.
