6 of us all IRL friends (25+ years old) have been on Anvil Rock for a year. It was fun, but our main WvW guilds transferred off TWICE, and now WvW is literally pointless. We live and breath PvP in WvW. We quit playing GW2 because it was so bad. We came back a few weeks ago and it hasn’t changed.

We are spread out across the US, working first and second shifts. Ideally we want a server with WvW happening all the time, but with a strong US timezone base.

I feel that SoR might be a good place. I’ve heard there are some problems with JQ’s guilds leaving.

Tier 2 TC, FA, and DB I’m not too familiar with.

I think we’d like to keep it to Tier 1 or Tier 2?

Can anyone suggest a new home for us that has a fun community and a very strong presence in WvW?

I’d go with anything T2/3 if I were you. T1 isnt worth the effort. Full of elitists looking for battles, Skill lag, and queues that reach 3-4 hours. No fun there. TC/FA/DB/SoS seem like servers that would fit your guys play styles. (SBI is going up in ranks as well, you may consider them)

Anet has already confirmed and said that it is a server issue. The lag comes from the fact that the servers have to calculate each skill being placed+damage+how many people its hitting. Its having to do this with a ton of people, and a kitten ton of skills going off all at once.

1st off, Never run full zerker in WvW. You will almost always be outplayed by everyone you meet in your tier. (Your sig tells me you’re on FC) For roamers tbh an extremely overlooked spec of gear is valk, I would run that if you’re looking for damage & survivability, while not sacrificing too much damage.

Over all though for your main Im biased to a Full Clerics healing guard for roaming but of the options you present I would say ranger fits your over all play style form what you’ve described better.

why after a knockdown are all your skills put on a 5 second cooldown? not to mention the fact youre planted face first on the ground and cant move for those 5 seconds either….

80% condition duration and my fear only lasts around 2 seconds ( the thief fear steal is stronger..go figure) and youre able to use skills as soon as youre out of it. shouldnt knockdowns only last at most 2 seconds?

Ehh, never had a problem with knockdown… but im a guardian mostly so I have a ton of stability at my disposal to counter them instantly. I think knockdown is probably so long because in most cases it comes in the form of your Elite.

NSP might be a good choice for you. We could use a havoc crew that ran independent and could put pressure on enemy borderlands and such. The possibility of finding good GvG matches would be very prevalent as well. We often get matched up against servers with more WvW guilds to compete with. You will always find a map to get on as we only Que up 2 maps on reset.

I have a post on your forums, however apparnetly it needs a moderator to approve it. its been all day without it being approved. Odd.

Anyways, NSP is an option.

Where does IOJ rank right now? are they goign to be in gold or top of silver? middle of silver?

IoJ is currently near the top in terms of population. I cant speak for Kain, or YB as we havent faced them in months and months now. But so far people are saying its mainly between YB/IoJ for top silver spot. Unless BP continues to throw matches to get into silver league.

we are growing strong and united.
the community supports WvW with donations, everyone is very receptive with new players.

Now if this is your attempt at character assassination, it’s pretty pathetic and shows how LITTLE IoJ has improved in terms of respecting former members and commanders. I know for a fact that former YB folks who frequent the YB forums are still welcomed even tho they have moved on to higher tier servers.

FYI, make sure you know what the heck you are talking about. TEST is NOT a purely PVE guild. Most of our members just prefer to run with CORE. We also have roamers and Valco + Kron has been active on IoJ BL defending. Even Corin has made an attempt to get back into WvW. If you want to discount TEST participation in WvW, that’s fine, but that will only HURT your coverage.

Now since this thread isn’t about why I left IoJ, I’ll leave it at that. Let’s let CNB decide.

To make things clear, my only point was: dont disencourage people to go to a server. If you are seeing great things on your server, just show it to everyone.

[TEST] is a great guild and I didnt mean to bash on anyone about wvw. Being a pve, pvp or wvw guild doesnt make anyone better. I really enjoy playing with [TEST].

Stealth is a get-out-jail-free card 99% of times for thieves, and like you said, has no actual counterplay. So many times I have outplayed thieves so hard just see them say “peace” and reappear far away at full health.

This here, Is the absolutely most annoying part of thieves. 95% of thief players are bad, period. Play a thief for a week and learn them and you’ll agree with me. Its simply annoying though to have them stealth then appear so far away and see their health regenerating again cause they are out of combat. Any who, Have you guys ever heard of leaving the thief alone instead of fighting them for 10+ minutes when you could have gotten 50+ more kill if you stayed on the zerg in that time, or at least 4-5 if you’re roaming lolol.

Play thief for a week or so, you’ll know when to dodge trust me. Those numbers are kittenty as well. 3.4k armor, 3k attack damage, 16% crit, 21k hp on my Guardian

Bottom line, Play thief, They suddenly become the worst class in the game when you know how they play. I only die to really good thieves anymore, and props to them for that. :P Most thieves I can stand around and out heal/boon/dps XD

There is also a good possibility of seeing SBI a lot more in the future if we end up in silver and with IOJ moving up. As far as us getting rolled by higher servers, look at the BP match up last week. SE saw the blobs that BP runs around with and BP is pretty well organized. SE should be more worried about being on IOJ, you wont get good fights against lower tiers due to the numbers you can bring and you will get depended upon heavily to carry IoJ against any of the middle tier servers. Be prepared to face many weeks like this one.

What you dont seem to realise is that you guys got the coverage of a much higher rated server that what your current rank/rantings suggest. To the point of even holding IoJ off during oceanic time, I was there today and you guys easily had twice if not more our size.

YB, Bp, kaneineng and so on would still be difficult for us but Im completely sure the match up woudn’t be as one sided as this one is. From what I’ve seen it looks like a good bunch of sbi know this and want to go up in tiers for a bigger challenge in gold league which i gotta give props for being realistic. The numbers and organization you guys are pulling deffinetly belongs in a higher tier

The fact is that IoJ wants a better challenge than what they have been getting facing the likes of SF and HoD, but in all honesty, BP, Ebay, YB, CD are all going to be tough fights for you guys. Maybe not quite as tough as the SBI matchup is, but it seems to me not everybody from IoJ is in tune with what they want from WvW. Fighting large numbers day in and day out is how you get better, and it’s up to you guys as a server to set realistic objectives for what you hope to get out of the week and make it a positive experience so you are ready to take on the likes of other mid tier servers.

What we’re trying to say is we like the match up as well, but when you guys come on here after taking our eb corner or a keep or two in our BL and tell us to get better do you really expect people want to come in and play WvW after that? I still play cause I know i’ll get good fights, so does my guild. That doesnt mean every person on ever server will feel the way me and my guild feel. Most of us have withdrawn to fun rather then giving you a guys a challenge anymore, especially with nsp coming at as well. (PPT wise)

Hillarious, as soon as IoJ gets a match up where they can’t tick 600 during Oceanic, they start to complain about coverage. Rich coming from you guys, considering the only way you win your previous match ups is by late night PvDoor. Your server is clearly filled with fairweather PvDoor players and as soon as they can’t play it, they fall off the grid completely. As soon as the famed “IoJ Oceanics” stop showing up, the coverage complaining begins.

Also, thanks to the RUN genius who pointed out how IoJ is gaining 15k glicko and SBI only a few hundred. Nice, I guess that just means we’ll be seeing each other more often so you can continue to QQ.

I’ve seen BP talk some crap but IoJ is the most hypocritical server in match up threads. I say what I say not because I say it to all servers, but because you deserve it based on the ridiculous amount of kitten you guys talk in other match up threads, and only winning them because of +600 PvDoor during oceanic.

With all the unconfirmed scuttlebut of T4 servers considering tanking to get out of the Gold League hatefest and the rapid shuffling of the T5-T7 servers and guilds; who do you think will end up in the coveted #13 spot?

I think SBI chose a rotten time to stack and will get pulled upward if any of the next 3 matches roll upward.

I personally think it will come down to YB or IoJ. YB has had a run of crappy luck, bringing them down to #12 and with the weakest off hours presence north of T6, they look primed to drop further. With their emphasis on a defensive playstyle, they have been one of the servers to gain the least transfers recently as well.

IoJ looks promising with it’s host of recent transfers and resurgent Oceanic population; but IoJ 2.0 has yet to have a good test and they are not fairing well against the other transfer darling, SBI.

So, will YB’s massive AC defenses hold through or will night capping defeat them?

SBI has been a good test for the weekend so far. Crazy numbers. I hear they queue’d at least 3 maps on reset, Where I know IoJ only queues 1-2 if we’re lucky. That could just be boasting or excuses, anyone from SBI confirm that for me please?

Meanwhile I know whatever Server that IoJ gets pitted against for top spot we’ll fight hard to win and give it our all.

I’d just like to say this, I use to be fine coming out of a tower and 1v1ing, Until the meta became you stomp the guy that was repectful enough to come to it instead of letting him res. No matter what when I win a 1v1 I’ll let you res, But so many ppl just come right back at me and ill let them res again, If they just keep trying after 3-4 times ill stomp them. So far anyone i’ve beat 1v1 on my SUPPORT ZERG (Which ill admit hose players I beat are prolly new or running a zerg build as well) build i’ve let res and they do this. Anytime i’m beat however I get stomped. Pretty annoying but i’d just like a little more respect out of 1v1s, I dont 1v1 for bags and neither should you, its for the fun of a challenge. We have a good chance of being in league 2. It’s going to be either SBI, BP, or Yaks. None of which is a good thing – none of us should be there, unfortunately one of us has to be.

It’s all going to depend on SBI, BP, and Yaks matchups over the next coiuple weeks. Whoever gets matched up with lower ranked servers is going to lose rating and thus be in league 2. At this point, it looks like we have the best chance.

Still 3 weeks to go rating wise Anywho…. Tell us about BP ;P I know yaks love their golem rushes more then anything lol

How are you going to deal with the Glicko ratings during the season regardless of whether it is ongoing or a tournament?

I assume you are going to freeze the Glicko ratings as they are before the tournament starts. If you don’t, it will create a huge gap between #12 and #13 servers that will NEVER be closed.

I dont think devon ever stated the commander UI would be updated by the end of the year, but I do know he said its one of the priorities of the UI team, Commander icons and what they will be able to do, That and kicking ppl out of your party when they go off line xD

If you’re looking for group play level a bunker guardian with staff/hammer. Shout build with condi removal AOE/Stabilty AOE. Also group play staff ele is amazing and a must have, not enough of them around (at least in the lower tiers).

If you’re looking for roaming Staff Mesmer, Into scepter/pistol is a good run. GS is simply dps, No survivability imo. You can run your thief as well, Been seeing a ton of glass cannon thieves recently, Dont run that. They just kill themselves on my retal then run when you get the upper hand. Condi thief with venoms and a p/d into a p/p (Yes p/p loads out damage fast on top of your condis to get the extra burst to finish a guy if needed)

Well if you guys defended you BL that won’t happen. The only reason why SBI is so ahead because you let them cap your whole BL and hold it for hours last night. So if you don’t defend your BL or don’t have enough people of course you will get double teamed. Is it easier to attack a BL with all waypoints up or the BL where everything is wooden. Maybe if you guys defended your stuff a little better and actually put some pressure on SBI that wouldn’t happen.

Well not sure about the borderlands… but at the moment in EB we have wiped your 3 attempts to take flip the east side, we have not retaliated either but it’s the same thing everytime… We give you a chance to get your kitten back, we push SBI and you guys creep over to our 3rd again and again and again the moment SBI hits the west side.

Actually we’re trying out best not to stomp you into the ground, the problem being that SBI holds NSP’s stuff for too long.

We can’t allow SBI to sit on a 350 PPT with your stuff while we wait for you to take it back.

We try, but SBI always has scouts on their map, So our strikes have to be extremely well coordinated and timed. We cant just zerg rush them as they have a higher population in NA prime. So if we’re spotted you’ll have 70+ on the map in no time.

Without the big blobs or zergs you wouldn’t be able to cap ANYTHING with your small team. You NEED that big blob or you would just be exercising fastest run routes from a waypoint.

Long as they are reasonably attainable for people who actually put time and effort into WvW. Would be a cool way to identify other WvWers outside of it, and a good marketing tactic to get more players in it. But if its as out of reach as the titles or something, then forget it.

Definitely not like the titles. More like skins for badges, skins as loot drops, skins for some new kind of token (Anet loves their tokens), or skins for WvW ranks — basically the same system Anet uses for rewarding skins in all other parts of the game.

Given the current shake on how Anet rewards WvW players, expect these WvW-exclusive skins to cost around 100 badges…. plus 10 gold, 20 laurels, a full stack of ectos, and a trophy that you can only get from a legendary npc mob that spawns when your server wins 1st place in their league.

Meanwhile, these skins will be introduced in a later PvE patch as common drops from Risen-type creatures.

You should take necros out of the roaming category. They are amazing back line damage dealers and they have a cc of fear. Their wells are great support options as well.

I noticed you did not do too much damage just a ton of cloak and dagger, the only time you did any real damage was on a crit. Oh the better half would like to know how bruised your ego is when you got taken down by an Asuran engie! She hopes that you filmed it up to that part and do not edit it out.

Last I knew shika was a condi thief :p he may have respecced though.
