Devourers are an Ideal choice of pet for a Charr. Ferocious, loyal, and inedible! (lets face it a pet boar’s gonna end up on a spit roast soon as its owner goes to sleep in the legion!)

Must say there’s something not right about Queen Jenna. She can afford to build this HUGE pavillion but not to hire more guards to protect her subjects from centaur raids outside the city walls, and she takes advantage of a massive disaster wiping out a section of the city to free up the space for it. Kind of makes you think About Emperor Nero building his huge palace in the ruins of the fire that destroyed part of Rome. And yet despite her blatant disregard for the commoners, Logan loves her. And despite her constantly shooting down every suggestion he makes to her, and the fact she has no problem with the Countess’s having programed his history with Rytlock into the watchnight to unsettle him so he’d be more likely to loose.
I can’t help but wonder in light of her being a mesmer, if Queen Jenna’s controlling Logan’s mind somehow.
Westworld was the alpha for Jurassic park, even original books written by the same author! He just figured (correctly) that cloned dinosaurs would be more popular than robot cowboys!
It’s a Theam park all right, unfortunately it seems to have gone Westworld on us!
If I buy one of these, is it unlocked for all characters on my account, or just the one?
I would much appreciate it if someone who has bought one could let me know. Thankyou.
I think you could do a good approximation of that armour actually. Gauntles look a lot like Orr Temple gauntlets, the coat looks like the drop version of reinforced scale (not the crafted variety, confusing I know but they have the same name for 2 different skins)
Barbaric armour for the shoulder, it’s not an exact match but it’s the only asymetric one I can find where it’s on the left side only. can’t see the legs so just pick whatever looks good with that upper set.
Probably depends more on what weapons they had on them, who was more experienced, and who was drunker at the time!
The asura are the masters of cutting edge tech, as one of them tells you “Asura technology is so advanced it can often seem broken” The Charr are Tyria’s masters of HEAVY INDUSTRY. If you want something produced in mass, reliably, buy Charr.
If you’d rather just get the newest shineyest tech for yourself, rather than an army and dont mind waiting 6 months for delivery of one working prototype. Or that it comes with a significant risk of budget over-runs, explosions, dimensional rifts and/or Temporal annomalies, then buy Asura.
Quite possible, then again, does catnip even EXIST in Tyria anyway?
I wouldn’t mind quite so much if these robots didn’t all apparently look like rip offs of the android from metropolis!

I can respect Evon Gnashblade, maybe not trust, but as he said, he IS a politician. And he knows his own mind. Kiel on the other hand, sure she’s NICE, but I don’t get the feeling she’s that SMART. Voting her onto the counil sounds like laying the foundations for a road to ruin paved with good intentions. Also, a LAW OFFICER on the lion’s arch council would be a slap in the face to Lion’s Arch herritage.
This was a city founed on pirate ideals, cheep rum, free trade, and no nosey guards asking questions every time you want to make a deal.
Evon’s no saint. but he couldn’t be a better representative example of the lion’s arch population if he tried!
I’m voting for the fractal, fighting a mad God in the Crystal desert beats fighting inquest (again!) in what will just be a re-dressed thaumanova reactor (remove blast damage). btw, I’m saving all my tokens up so I can dump the lot with a Gnashblade suppoter’s kit, when does the ellection end I don’t want to wait too long and miss it!
Not all Charr are serious, (Tybalt for example) but they are a lot brighter than a house cat so they’re able to connect the moving red dot to the Asura waving a glowing tube at them.
There’s a lot of good roman names for Charr, “Maximus” obviously suits them.
Remember most male latin names end in us, female in a, so if we had a big female charr she could be “Maxima”.
Atellus = dark haired, good for a black charr, (Albinus = White btw)
Cornelius = Horned, fits any charr.
Malleolus = Hammer, could make a good guardian or warrior with that.
Quadratus = Stocky/ heavy built, similarly Brutus = heavy
Vincentius = Conqueror, I’m sure any charr would like THAT name
(edited by Bathos.6341)
It’s down to scale. Charr are a lot bigger than house cats, a 2kg house cat can survive a fall from a 20 story building, (there are recorded cases of this happeneing, though rarely) but a 200kg, 3 meter tall Charr is more like dropping a siberian tiger, and I don’t recall them being famous for surviving long falls!
There’s a yes and no side here. They are highly curious, (give them a mystery, they will find a way to make a weapon out of it). They’re almost exclusive carnivores, (plants are ok for making alcohol!) But on the other side, they’re far more active than any real world cats, no 18 hour a day sleeping here!
The cubs probably have the most catlike behavior, this is largely trained out in the Ferah.
The other problem of course is Tybalt’s metal right hand, cos he lost that arm, hence “leftpaw”.
I noticed a while back there’s an acousitc guitar (or possibly lute) version of the Dragon Bash theme playing in the Crow’s nest Tavern. I downloaded the main dragon bash theme. but I’d like to get this alternate version too as they’re both nice in their own ways.
Also my Dad’s a folk musician so the guitar version has a nostalgia hit for me!
Anyhow, is there anywhere I can download this version from?
Definitely need more armour that takes tails into account. I also dislike helms/hoods that mess with my Charr’s horns, but there at least there are alternatives. Light armour is especially hard to find a good fit on charr.
There are a few dungeon armours that work with Charr as well as the cultural sets. If you wear medium armour the Arah medium is very good on Charr, even has tail armour, not just a hole in the back. Well, not the mask, that looks daft. But the rest is nice and you can hide the mask.
The Tactical skin for light armour is fairly evil looking. I mean you’re covered in skulls if you wear that one. Mix that with the necro mask, maybe some Arah parts, you could look fairly demonic.
If we’re going as far as town clothes, the chef outfit on charr makes you look like something out of a horror movie, leather apron, Hanibal Lector style face mask, belt hung with meat hooks.
definitely would be good if each temple had its own skin. We need more armour variety, one reason this game needs Cantha and Elona back, in GW1 each continent had a complete set of styles, don’t like the Tyrian armour skins? Go to cantha, every armour there has a different theme to it.
Heh, maybe they’re all descended from Glint? Seriously, would be interesting. but lore wise it’d probably hard for them to interact with other races since everyone would probably distrust them.
I do like guild wars 2, but I wish they’d concentrate a bit less on temporary event content and a bit more on adding some of the missing features of the game.
Like a home instance that actually has some significant personalization! Or the long hyped scavenger hunt for legendary precursors as an alternative to the endless mystic forge lottery we have now. Or guild halls, player housing, personal story trophies we can actually DISPLAY. Crossbows, Two-handed axes, etc..
To be honest, my final goal isn’t a legendary, if it was I’d be playing more WvW for the gift of battle. I’m after Ilya and Ignus Fatuus for my mesmer, and after that, Mjolnir (permenant lightning hammer skin) for my Guardian.
Don’t get me wrong, these are going to be long term goals, they’re not easy to farm for, (especially Mjolnir). But less FUBAR’d than something like say, Bifrost.
That is concept art, most of the loading screens are. So I don’t think there’s an actual armour set that looks exactly like that in game.
I went with the rather lighthearted “Tailtwister” for my mesmer’s warband name indicating a tendancy to use mesmer skills for pranking other cubs in the ferah!
Charr are somewhat larger and heavier than a common housecat. landing on your feet is all very well when you only weigh a few Kilos. Doesn’t help so much when you’re THREE METERS TALL.
Hi, I’m looking for a new active and social guild. I’m an active, but casual sort of player, mostly interested in PvE (dungeons, guild missions etc) and having someone friendly to chat with while I’m gaming. So looking for a guild with some kind of voice chat.
I’m not looking for anything based on hardcore farming or PvP, and WvW is problematic for me as my PC is old and does not like rendering large zergs.
heavy crossbow: Warrior + ranger
Pistol crossbow: theif
Grenade launcher, Engineer
2-hander Axe: warrior, maybe guardian
Poleaxe: warrior + guardian
Tengu I think the customization for them could be amazing! The feather colour/beak/claw colour/feathers which make a sort of tail at the back.
It might even beat the sylvari customization!
Indeed, I must agree with this! Found this picture online about 6 months ago.
There are heavy armours that are not spikey, Ascalon, Caudicus manor, Honour of the waves and Crusible of Eternity heavy armour are all largely spike free.
But agreed need some different medium armours from the endless trenchcoats. Airship crew armour modeled on ww2 flying suits maybe?
Need some more hats too, I’d really like a PvE version of the commando hat for starters, maybe have the next special event armour be a hat please?
Lastly more armour of all weights that doesn’t clip with charr tails.
I do want to get a Tengu character. And I’ve seen concept artwork for when they were apparently going to be the 6th release race. This makes me think they’d be logical for the first additional race, since the basic groundwork has already been done for them.
Why not use a pitfighter chest if you want to show off your fur? that’s pretty near nothing but a couple of leather straps.
Oh and this from Ash legion story mission “A spy for a spy” (but only if you play a female charr) when you are disguised as a flame legion (male) trooper but you still have your normal voice.
Flame legion sentry: “Whoa! Do you have a cold or something?”
You: “I’m fine. I’m male, and I’m fine! Now get out of my way before I pull your horns off and shove them up your nose!”
I want some others
Frying pan mace skin that bashes foes with a satisfying CLANG!
Shovel hammer skin (ever seen the shoveler in Mystery men?)
Antique Canthan tea pot focus
Remember the siege devourer in EotN? That was a mount. Ok you couldn’t keep it, you had to pick it up again from it’s spawn if you lost it. But it worked as a mount. lot of fun too, especially with it’s mad devourer dance emote

Absolutely, we need this. We also need exotic ones for level 80, there’s only one available level 80 aquabreather atm, and the stats aren’t what I want.
Yeah, I imagine that any human they got hold of, alive or dead, with charr hide armour is probably gonna get eaten!
I’d say guardian is unusual, but not unheard of for a Charr character. They’re likely looked on with a certain amount of suspicion, especially from more traditionalist charr but that could be said of any magic user. It wouldn’t matter to their warband mates though.
No issues what so ever with theif, as long as they’re ash legion
“Explosions! Is there any better form of entertainment?”
Radarr Boommaker, outside Butchers block on successful completion of his fireworks mortar event.
“I don’t know what I did to get assigned to this place, I’m freezing my tail off.”
“I don’t get you, you’ve got fur.”
“The only fur that’s gonna keep me warm out here is a furnace!”
Charr lionguard talking to a Norn Lionguard on the road from Diessa plateau to Wayfarer foothills.
Technically, Rurik lost Sohothin in the shiverpeaks anyway, when the Stone summit dwarves dropped an avalanche on him. So Rytlock would have dug it up in the shiverpeaks not Ascalon.
This one move makes absolutely no sense, what right minded producer of games today is REMOVING Asian cultural themes from their games? Most are adding it, for the simple reason that the fastest growing gamer market in the world right now is CHINA. Think NCsoft are shooting themselves in the foot here, and the more people tell them so the better. If there’s a Petition up, I’ll sign it, Guild wars 2 needs to at least match the diversity of guild wars 1, and it wont if it gets stripped of any sense of cultural variety.
