Oh .. i have a question :
How many money would it cost me, with the actual TP prices and a normal RNG rate
to craft and salvage all the ascended gear i need for a new legendary ?
Let me guess .. its in the 1000-1200 gold area to compensate the precurser hunt ?
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I wonder when we will finally see 4 fractal dailys, since they really seem to want
force us more and more into them.New Legendarys only for fractal players is really a great concept.
A legendary backpiece. You can already get an exclusive Ascended backpiece from fractals and I don’t see people crying about that.
Or do you think that fractals will have the only legendary backpiece available in the entire game, because I highly doubt that. But even so, whatever. Good items should in fact require someone to put effort into it.
I wanted the Glorious armor skin, but didn’t really enjoy PvP that much, did I kitten about it like so many did? Nope, I sucked it up and set a goal for myself to play X games a day until I had all of the pieces.
No one is putting a gun to your head, if you don’t want to play fractals, don’t play them, but you can’t expect to get the exclusive items from that game mode on top of it.
It’s like you’ve never played an MMO before. Sometimes there are items that are exclusive to a dungeon, game mode, zone, etc. This isn’t exclusive to GW2.
Its not just the backpack .. the mats you only get from salkittenscended stuff is
needed for all new legendary items.
So all future legendarys are now only for fractal grinders .. yeah great concept
to finally turn GW2 into another generic dungeon grinder.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
It is a LEGENDARY item… it is supposed to be hard to get. If every lookyloo with 20g could get a legendary item it wouldn’t be very legendary would it?
I already bought the mats needed to make/salvage 100 ascended items with this news. If you can’t do the same then you probably aren’t to the point where you should be pursuing a LEGENDARY item.
The whole talk about the new legendarys, is that they are not meant to be a gold pay to get, but a legendary journey instead. So, where is the point if need to sunk hundreds of golds for a chance of a dark energy? This is not a legendary journey, just another grind for gold to geit it.
Of course, we have no info if there is another way to get dark energy yet, and thats why I brought this topic up, To see if we can get some clarification on it.
People always make the mistake to think just because there is the journey they
will remove the paywall .. but in the end you will have to grind more for the
journey and pay even more for the item.
This is again the best example .. oh yeah the precurser hunt .. that will maybe take
time where you could have farmed the money for a precurser .. and now we add
on top that you have to salvage ascended stuff thats worth the price of another
precurser on top of it.
But hey .. the old methods where you could buy everything for gold and don’t
had to grind 1000 fractals was soooo bad.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
“how many balls of “dark blobs” do we need”
I assume we need to craft and salvage enough ascended gear thats worth the price
of some of the actual expensive precursers.
Oh c’mon .. did anyone really thought the precurser hunt would make the new
legendarys less expensive and less grindy ?
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

New ascended salvage kits will be added to BUY-4373; salvaging each type of item, like gloves or weapons, will yield different results, but all will provide a chance at the new ball of dark energy salvage item that will be used for crafting new legendary items in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns and beyond. Salvaging ascended rings will also grant players stabilizing matrices, a necessary component for legendary crafting. These can also be traded in for fractal encryption keys.
So we now have to grind fractals if we want new Legendarys ? Great news.
Oh yeah .. or else craft and destroy ascended stuffs for 100s of gold and
throw out my laurels for rings just to salvage them
I am more and more sure that the new legendarys with the oh so awaitet
precursor hunt will end in a grind thats much more time and money consuming
in the end than the actual model.

Three years later we really need to let it go.
Agreed.
But I don’t think that asking players to let go while Anet continues to use it is the way to go..
I really do think that the manifesto should be removed in order to facilitate the, “let it go,” process as a whole.
Where is it displayed? Which section specifically? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it in the flesh, as it were.
At the very bottom of the Videos page (which you get to by going to Media at the top of the site), which displays every official video released by Anet. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/media/videos/
OMG .. a video .. really ? Then they should also have to remove all videos of the
old LA, and all images from LA have to been deleted from the whole internet
and whatever else has changed.
Really .. those collections of videos and images after some years for me is just
historical stuff and not something that i consider as active marketing.
We also need to remove all false promises that politicans have ever made then
from the internet and burn all books maybe.

That was the reason why we had the condition cap ^^
However personally i haven’t experienced any skill lags on the world bosses i made
so far. And Karka Queen has always been a big frame-lag fest for me.

But the game engine is built for DirectX 9. You can’t just magically push a button and have it use DirectX 12. If that was the case why would any game ever use anything other than the latest version?
WOW could provide DX11 client from DX9 so could GW2 if ANet focused on it. That would be a huge performance boost.
Yeah .. if such a poor indie company like Blizzard could do it .. no reason why
you can’t do it yourself in your cellar ^^
But carefull .. the performance boost to 1000 Gazillion FPS could maybe make
your monitor explode.
Serious .. just stop with the WoW argument .. Blizzard earns money without end
from their cashcow, on the other hand that game is ugly as hell and was espically
build to run on low speed single core processors.

People are simply not aware what an MMO has to do that all eats performance.
I can’t repeat what they said exactly, but just as an example in EQ2 a dev posted
years ago why we only had a maximum of 50 (later 80) active quests. It is simply
the point that at each step you make the client has to go through all your open
Quests and check if at that point something quest relevant is triggered.
Or a dev of Funcom postet what a problem it is when people can actually drop
items onto the ground because the position of all those items then have to been
sent to all players on the map.
Now in a big zerg all the damage every player does and all the buffs and whatever
has also constantly been calculated and then sent to every player .. ok thats
more serverside …
However .. the render thread is simply not the one big thing in an MMO like in a
singleplayer game .. there is just so much more happening behind the scene.

Look at the core speed of your CPU .. 1775 MHz is not the maximum speed
of your CPU i guess, and the lower speed of your GPU bus is maybe just
a direct result from that.
So look at the temperatures of your CPU first. IF in your picture GW2 is really
running. Maybe make also another image where CPU-Z is in front of your
GW2 Window.

Of course not 100% sure, but normally i always have a look at the loot on the left
side of the screen, and so far i only once saw a spirit shard there when i killed
a spider in Dredgehaunt Cliffs.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
You also get them as random loot from mobs. It only shows on the right though since they are automatically added to your wallet.
Yeah .. i have gotten ONE so far since the patch from a regular mob.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
How about once you maxed your mastery out, you can go back to level up and get the spirit shards? Idk why is that so hard to make for anet…
^ This.
At the moment it is really bad since all the level ups vanish into nowwhere and if you
don’t farm champs or chests you get no new shards.
Yeah … 3 for daily .. IF you do the daily .. however before i got maybe 10+ each day
from levels now i mostly do daily every second day or so.

GW2 is not a slot-machine like WoW where you always have to push in some money
before you can play it .. so just start the game, login .. and look if you like it.
On the other hand .. Laptops are already not great for most games, and Mac is
also worse than PCs .. so i don’t know what performance you can expect.

If i just google for the exeption code this is a problem that has nothing to do
with GW2, since you find there a lot of different applications from Norton

I disagree.
Engineers have several kits to change into, elementalists have several attunements to change into, I don’t see the need for a weapon swap, especially if it will not be available for PvP. Even if for convenience, the fact these two professions cannot weapon swap is part of their mechanics.
The ele has attunements is a weak argument.
Every other class can easily change between melee and ranged combat. A dagger ele
can’t … no attunement would help him do that.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
No and it won’t happen.
A-net made ascended gear after legendaries were released because they thought that the stat-gap was a problem. It meant that people felt forced to pay thousands of gold to have BiS. They do not like the idea of vertical progression.
Totally wrong .. Legendarys had only normal exotic stats before we got ascended.
Often they even transmuted the legendary skin on a pearl weapon to get the
stats the wanted.
Oh .. and ofc NO to the request of the OP.

Do you have kittenB Stick or are your PC and Laptop connected via network so
that you can just copy the GW2 folder from your Laptop to your PC ?
In the end after installing from the DVD there will always be a big patch, so
just copying the patched version is always faster.

Azizul, prety sure that’s not the case, you get many skins when using them in the mystic toilet… (I don’t recall if it gives you them at that point)
Also you could simply acct bind both sunrise and twilight = unlocked skins, forge eternity and sell…
Of course you don’t get the Eternity Skin when you sell it .. its just a cheap way to
get Twilight and Sunrise if you want those two.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I would take that as replacement for the Twilight Skin at least.
Else i like the sunrise skin, especially because of the fire aura ^^

The whole Trahearne taking credit thing isn’t necessarily him taking the credit himself. It’s him receiving credit from other NPC dialogue or writing that he doesn’t deserve.

For all the problems ArcheAge had (has?), I have to say I really admired their having not only a save feature for sliders, but being able to do interim saves as well as I got a face slowly shaped to what I wanted. The file (which you could name anything you liked, I used the character name) then went into a copyable location. Since it took most of an hour to customize in that game, it was a vital feature.
Yeah .. i always wonder why no other game after Perfect World had that feature.
That game still has one of the best editors of all MMOs for me .. would really
see something like that with a little more actual engine.

Can’t understand why people would give them money. Money is easy to earn
here, and its totally different than real world.
Go 30-40 minutes farming in Dredgehaunt Cliffs / Timberline Falls .. there are your
7 Gold. Thats what i would tell those people.

From what i have read so far maybe 5-10% more .. however if you have actually
20 FPs at Svanir Shaman that would be 21-22% FPs .. so not really a big difference
and everything else where you already have 60+ there it also not really matters.

The TP is a web-application that runs on a websever in USA, so i think especially
if you are from Europe it could happen that it is a little slow now and then since

the ocean and back.

I think the act of logging in should maybe also be much more challenging.
Maybe we have to type in 10-100 captchas under timer stress and the timer
gets shorter and shorter after each captcha ..
Starting windows also is so bare of challenge .. there should be a big angry dog
before each computer at first, then maybe some mines you have to disarm,
after that you have to install the OS from 1,44 inch floppy disk each time
