I can choose any part I want also the assembly is free !well at least here in Israel so I should go for Gtx 970, lower the cpu to i5 4690k and ram to 8 gb ?
My budget is around 1500$-1600$I would bump up to 16, even if it meant cutting back a couple versions on the video card. But that’s me.
Isn’t 8gb enough for gaming ?why would I need 16 ? Unless I do video editing or streaming right ?
Its enough at least for most actual games with 32-bit clients. When 64-bit gets
more common then of course that may change.

While I can’t directly improve the Telia->NCsoft hops
Mostly the only fix ist to let your traffic take a different route to avoid the
overloaded hubs. Personally i use a VPN whenever the critical hubs on my
route (telekom → Level 3 in Frankfurt) have problems.
But i also remember Telia from my Diablo 2 days .. that was still with ISDN,
and i had to pay per minute for using dial-in providers when i wanted to
avoid the lag we often had in D2.

Get the princess item form the new lion’s arch achievement, it’s a Dragonite Ore eater.
Why? If the Dragonite Ore Eater just destroys the dragonite, why not just throw it away and forget about the Eater?
Some people simply can’t destroy things, for what reason ever. And the rather spend
15 minutes each day to destroy something when it gives 1 copper reward
Ok .. thats a little exaggerated, but more or less really how it works ^^

It never occurred to them to just wander, tab to see critter levels, explore all the NPCs to see what they do/offer, etc. They were looking for the big dancing ! or ? over an NPC.
I remember we had to speak to every single NPC in EQ2 when it was released, to
find out if they had a quest or not. A lot of people were upset when we got the
! and ? over their heads and said : the game was again dumbed down like WoW.

Wayfarer was my original starting area when I first started playing. I’m sad to hear how bad it is post NPE. I still frequent the area north of the “wall” but I haven’t seen how the southern area plays since post NPE.
Wayfarer is not bad, its still my most favorite area and the only one i completed
on all my 18 characters.
Also the “nerf” to the bunny quest .. everyone i talked about it so far was happy
because the old one got really annoying after doing it the first time.

I suspect OP has a personal problem with the company, reading between the lines of his posts, which would make that not an option.
Well if he’s looking for an MMO with active combat and no gear treadmill, he’s going to be looking a long long time, no matter what he has for or against anyone.
Hm .. Champions Online has no gear threadmill, and at least there are a lot of
powers you can use while moving. But its a superhero MMO, and playing without
freeform characters maybe takes a lot of fun out of it.

Making each single fight take longer doesn’t really makes anything harder, mostly
just more boring, tedious and less fun (at least for me) .
Less damage is in the end the same than more HPs for mobs .. so hey .. why not
give every mob 100% more hitpoints .. Teq will then have 4 times the hitpoints
he had before the patch .. this will be really funny .. right ?

my CPU running at 73 degree C during zerg fight, showing how bad the dependence on CPU the game is….
But all that DX12 would do is bring your temperature more up, since what people
want is that GW2 uses 100% of your CPU instead of just 70%
Funny how some people think they would have a better performance with less
usage of the CPU.
Also a 64-bit client would not give better performance, it would be maybe even a
little worse. All it will do is help against OOM crashes on systems with extremly
high settings where the client uses more than 3,5 GB memory.

You operate under the false assumption that we “script-kiddies” care about the content and not the reward at the end and getting it as fast as possible.
That’s where you went wrong. No, he didn’t went wrong. He was addressing the posts to those of the “hardcores” that are complaining about the game being too easy. If all you care is the reward at the end and getting it as fast as possible, then obviously game being too easy wouldn’t be a problem to you at all.
But .. they want more better mostly “exclusive” rewards for their harder content.
So in the end it correct .. all they care about are the rewards.
If ANet or any other Game Company puts in “harder” content that doesn’t give
better rewards, most of the people who constantly cried for harder content
just because the challenge, suddenly say : why should we play that when we
get the same in easy mode.
I’ve seen that so often in forums of so many other MMOs since i play online,
in the end it always comes down to the same.

Sampling Bias
Does anet read forum posts? Because i cant believe a company would make such a huge mistake that even tho 90%of the players in the forums ask a harder gameplay, and more challenging content, and they still make the game easier…
90% of players in the forums aren’t 90% of players. It’s likely less than half of all players have ever even logged in to the forums, let alone posted in them.
Our german CM wrote a while ago that only 8% read the forums and only 1-2%
post in the forums. So in the end these 90% are not even 2% of the total players.

I gave up on stacking sigils when they started to make then useless in LS2 instances
and later also personal story, because mobs that give no exp also give no stacks. The personal story mobs actually DO give stacks despite the fact that LS2 ones don’t. Neither of them give exp or loot. This also means there is really no reason for the mobs in LS2 to be that way.
Hm .. i remember that the mobs in phase 1 at Claw of Jormag event also didn’t gave
exp and also no stacks long ago before LS2.
I also never was in a PS instance with a stacking sigil since they changed the mobs
there to give no loot anymore.

To sum up my experience and opinion: after about 2 years of GW2 I’m actually going back to WoW.
The funny thing is, the same has been said about WoW again and again in the years

WoW was the epitome for a total easy stupid dumbed down game, and it was
getting dumbed down even more with every expansion.

Did you know that there are only 4 areas that are level 80 (Drytop, SW, FGS, Cursed Shore)? That means that your exotic and ascended gear is maximized ONLY in those 4 areas, and that in every other area of the game, a lower level character would match you or be more powerful.
Doesn’t that sound a bit absurd? Shouldn’t an exotic/ascended character at least match the stats of a non-downlevel?
FGS is also 70-80 .. so just a part of it is 80.
Malchors Leap is also 75-80 .. but its in my eyes the most senseless maps of all ^^

I dont know whats going on, but there is something fishy, Before the patch i was soloing AC dungeons relatively with ease. Today i must double the effort to achieve the same thing .. with my build i can kill a young karka in southsun with a single use of purging flame .. the same build struggle in AC and the same skill is … maybe downscaled too much. Well the damage done is not proportional .. it’s weaker.
It doesn’t make sense that i can go in silverwaste or any other lvl 80 zone and melt everything on my path with only half of my skills then going to a lvl 30 dungeon and unleash everything i have to get the same effect.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The community has been begging for more challenging content for some time now, and having access to older content with a challenging kick can be quite invigorating.
Do you feel better overcoming a difficult task that took all your skill, or do you feel better just because you are more powerful than your enemy by default and plow through them?
Oh come on .. yeah all those poor 80s in full ascended that seek challenge in
Queensdale. Maybe level 2 skelks should oneshot them .. or you die instantly
when entering the zone. What does a highlevel do in lowlevel zones normally ? Either its completing
a map or harvesting .. nobody is there to seek a challenge .. this argument is
so far from reality.Or spend 10 mins doing a world boss, don’t forget.
Oh yeah .. worldbosses should take 2 hours at least .. i mean Behemoth .. DPS .. Portals
DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals .. DPS .. Portals ..
Can you imagine the pure challenge that this would give ?
Also its great that people who think starter areas are too easy now can think :
OK … its so kitten easy here .. but as soon as i’m 80 and full ascended i come
back here to have a real challenge.
Now make the scaling maybe even more punishing that lvl 80s have to ask
level 10 chars to help them complete a map, or that they need to form raids
to take down a centaur ^^

Hey all, didn’t want to leave this discussion hanging. Losing the hover list was a needed concession because of the fact that the currency list is growing and would potentially become unusable. We’ve been talking about ways we could have kept it, and things we might do in the future to bring it back, but time constraints kept us from being able to implement any of them for the 6/23 release. We are still looking at it and considering our options though.
What about a scrollable combobox that opens on click maybe but looks more
like the old wallet ? Needs maybe also another click to close but also closes
automatically on closing the inventory.

Usually the “useless” build were useless to the Munchkin crowd, who are useless to me.
This game definitely changed to having much less diversity and more cookie cutter builds now.
Which is great for overworked Devs with Guild Wars 1 balancing PTSD and Zerker Meta optimal DPS runners, but very boring for us tinkerers and fun builders. For example before I had a neat Hammer/Rifle Warrior build that still allowed me great mobility, but that is dead now as the 25% run speed is on the same tier with Rifle -20%.
Oh well, at least this way there´s actual hope for eventually getting even more Elite classes with future expansions.
Never heared of traveller runes ? And the runspeed boost never worked when you
had a ranged weapon equipped, so traveller runes were already “better” before
the change if you want perma speedbost.

The 32bit use less RAM not because it’s forced to, but because it assign memory in chunks of 4 bytes and 64bit assign memory in chunks of 8 bytes, so sometimes just to assign 1 memory address you take up more RAM than you need.
Guild Wars 2 is perfectly playable with 2GB RAM
Its more that Win-XP used less memory than Win7 because of the way DX-9 is
emulated in Win7.
However i wouldn’t call playing on minimal settings at 1024×768 or whatever
not really “perfectly playable” because else you would have mostly a lot of
OOM crashes with Win7-32 even with 4 GB memory.
But only 2 GB .. i remember i already had swapping without end 10 years ago with

8gb ramnever had issues until LA patch.
Any ideas?
Whats the problem with that ? Else people always dream of it that GW2 would
really use 100% of your CPU. Thats more or less what all expect from DX12.
In the end more CPU usage just meants better multithreading. At singlecore times
it was normal when games pushed the CPU to 100%

Now that would be a good reasson to buy a 100$ expansion, having the game on Dx12 running efficiently along all CPU cores, not the mini Rytlock.
But then people will start to cry that ANet have also to include a free copy
