So what is it now, are the raiders an overwhelming majority or a tiny minority? Are there any reliable numbers given out by respectable sources?
I can give you this at least from Turbine :
http://www.engadget.com/2014/07/03/turbine-raiders-make-up-the-smallest-player-group-in-lotro/#comments
Also in EQ2 that i played for nearly 5 years on our Server there were mostly
just 1 or 2 guilds that ever managed to finish the hardest raid before the
next expansion came out. It were maybe more in Classic where we hat
much smaller Raid Inis and where it was possible to do them with random
raids.

If you use Kapersky .. get rid of that and try maybe Avast.

I remember i had a problem where one setting was always resetting when i logged

That brings up and interesting question. Is there a good way to get to a different copy of the same map?
If you play on EU server try guesting to a server of another language. I am on a
german server, and use normaly Desolation and Fort Ranik for example.

Now were suposed to get shards drop from monsters, but they never stated what monsters can i get it from a level 2 moa? or is it only elites and champions?
I am doing map completion right now and am occassionally in wvw (which was my main mode before this patch) – I think I have completed about 10 maps, I usually kill every mob that’s in my way, and I haven’t gotten a single spirit shard. I got 2 from killing tower lords though (it’s been around 20 I’ve killed). Just to throw in some numbers.
I have gotten shards from spiders in Dredgehaunt Cliffs, Jotun in Timberline Falls
and a Scorpion in Silverwastes .. but they drop very very seldom. All in all i have
gotten maybe 4 or 5 shards from normal mobs since the patch.

You complain about what many people always cry for : GW2 should make more
use of our CPUs .. thats also what some people expect DX12 to do magically that
suddenly the game uses 100% CPU.
If GW2 really uses more CPU now, then they have maybe put some stuff from the
mainthread into other threads for performance optimization.
Else .. just limit your FPS to 60 .. more just makes your fan louder and your GPU
eat more power without any visible benefit.

It’s every fifth time. The team will review that frequency in the future, but for now we’ll leave it there, given the proven security advantages of authentication.

If they make it skins, than new players would start to cry why the level 5, 10 and so
on armor doesn’t look as good as the starter armor, and we need new cultural
armors for all levels.
Or / and people will start again to complain how greedy ANet is, and that they
only made that because they wanted to milk new players with selling them
transmution charges.
And thats why we can’t have nice things.

So it’s pretty much lemongrass and passion flowers that are worth gathering? Pretty much, what are the ingredients that are worth 6+ silver.
Easy ones to farm are the basic rarity; Start here and work your way down the list.
Top 5 above 6s
Chilli
Lemongrass
Sesame Seed
Snow Truffle
SeaweedPoultry meat is usually ~9 silver.
But it can’t be harvestet .. else we could also post prices of powerful blood or whatever
we can get from killing mobs.

Lineage 1 and 2 were the most succesfull MMOs before WoW. I remember when
i played L2 that we were happy to have 64.000 players while in Korea both had
around 2 Millons at that time.
The most sucessfull western MMOs at that time had aroun 200.000-300.000 player
i think.
I think John Smedley from SOE at that time also said that an MMO with 60k
players is a successfull MMO.
Only after WoW people suddenly startet to think that everything under x Millions
is doomed.
The numbers are from Memory .. so don’t shoot me if they are not 100% correct.

gw2 has been slowly dying since 2013, its not a secret, yeah the expansion has hype and stuff but after 2 days people will have seen everything it has to offer and leave again.
some will stay just to troll and kitten, but once wildstar goes free to play a lot will jump over, leaving just a sour, salty little group of players that’ll ruin it for everyone else :p
Mostly every MMO released in the last years had started dying after the first 30 days.
And even WoW is dying since release of Cataclysm.

FGS isn’t worth it since a long time. I have stopped it when Ori went under 6s

It is the best money for the effort I know of, and up there on money to time ratios. You’d have to have a pretty darn good group to beat it(or even match it) through dungeons for example.
There are other ways to make the same money without beeing dependant on other
players ^^

Ok .. first make sure your GPU is in the slot next to your CPU .. also just remove
and reseat it. If that doesn’t help post a screenshot from CPU-Z and GPU-Z
with GW2 running in the back.
Important is that you see the x16 2.0 and not a lower value, and your CPU
should run at max Speed also of course.

in dungeons or high end game do people just speed run everything ?
every video i watch or stream is just run through everything and sit in a corner and snipe, kind of puts me off the game a bit ;/
The players that don’t want to brag how fantastic they are normally simply don’t
post videos or streams. In alle the guilds i have been so far i have met maybe
3-4 people that did speedruns before but either they didn’t wanted to do that
anymore or they left after short time.
From my personal experience they are simply a minority that are only overrepresented
on forums .. very much like raiders in other MMOs.

pve is not meant to be played as a fun thing, it’s a gold farm tool, everybody is bored from day 1
A good reward system puts the most efficient way to earn rewards behind the most exciting and fun content possible. And in lots of MMORPGs that’s true but in GW2 is the complete opposite, the more boring and un-interesting an activity is, the more efficient it is for rewards… You can be excited about PVE if the reward system isn’t horrible and based on endless grind.
Oh .. is there a game where i get the best rewards hanging around in Town and
RP’ing with my friends and show them my new outfits ? Please tell me the name.
Disclaimer : not for everyone is something like raiding really fun, for many its
just a necessary evil you have to deal with in other games if you want rewards.

Could be a problem with an unreadable sector on your harddisk. Look in the
windows system logs if you find something there.
And try to copy your GW2 folder to somewhere else on your disk and see if
you have already problems while copying .. and start GW2 from that folder.

This game is getting stale, no new contents since they killed the living story. And Anet is stringing us along till HoT, happily collecting our prepaid money with nothing to show for it.
dont preorder, wait till its out. Im just as concerned as you but ill hold my judgement till its released and the first skeptics get a chance to review it.
I would suggest people not to preorder also, especially if they might release HoT at the same time as the release of Fallout 4.
dont preorder fallout 4 either :P. Seriously. pre-ordering should be illegal with the amount of glitchy/unfinished/bad games that get released these days. Fallout 4 is going to be amazing, im super hyped for it, but i doubt their ability to release a finished, polished game given the game breaking glitches that have plagued my attempts to complete the previous games (skyrim too, thank god for console commands and pc in general, altho it took like a year+ for the game to go from low settings at launch, to ultra high with hd texture mods, etc. on the same computer).
At least Fallout gives you a release date for the preorder, you will know when you will be playing it. Has Anet given any date…. but yet they want your money?
And i can already seen now that masses of people after release complain that
it is a bugged messed and never should have been released that early.
IF it is an MMO .. i have no clue if it is since i totally have no interest in that game
however since you post it here as it were a competitor to GW2 i at least expect
it would be an MMO .. else the next one posts that GW2 is dead because of
the next football game from EA coming out or whatever.

Most people complain that the game is NOT maxing out their processors, because
that in the end will bring the best performance if 100% could be used. However
du to how multithreaded programming works that is not really possible to achieve.

Open world PVE wouldn’t be as bad if 80-90% of the zones where not scaled down. Boring when you just run around 2-3 shotting everything.
Have you even played in low level zones since the trait system revamp ?
The downscaling now works so that in low zones a level 80 in full exotic has
LESS stats than a newbie in blue or green stuff.Admittedly I have not, only been doing Orr and SW since update, but will give it a shot. However that still doesn’t take away from the 2nd point, in that levels are a unnecessary and redundant feature.
Removing levels would crash the whole economy since we no longer would need
kitten in crafting beside T2-T4 stuff that is needed in ascended crafting.
So if we only have now mithril and orichalcum in all zones, ascended crafting
also must be changed to mithril / ori only.

ping is ping, there should be no server processing in the calculation (other than echo request/reply) or it’s not a ping. If your cmd ping is significantly different from the game ping then ANet implemented ping wrong.
There is a reason for that, and ANet also told us why it is that way. Its so they can
see if problems are server side or not.
So if the windows ping says 30 but the ingame ping shows 1000 you know that
the servers have a problem while ping 2000 and ingame 2010 shows you that
it is the internet.

Everyone thanks for the posts.
It helps in making my Asura. What you can do is make the Asura the way you want, screenshot the sliders to make it easy to replicate, then go into game and head for the nearest bank or crafting station (likely that means hopping into Rata Sum and trotting down one level to the Accountancy waypoint).
There you can bring up the Wardrobe and preview every piece of medium armor to your heart’s content.
If you don’t like how it looks, delete, remake with any tweaks, and btw try to use the name you want on the test character because then you have it for 24 hours after any character deletion.
Thanks.
That is the type of stuff that I had in mind.
Thats what i also normally do, however mostly just to look if the face looks ingame
like i wanted it to look. The bad thing is you can’t test that with faces that are only
available in makover kits
