Use a VPN as a last resort imo, and if you do decide to meddle with them I can tell you right away that the most popular one (WTFast) is a definite scam, stay away from it.

PIA works great most of the time .. however i mostly first make a trace to see
that i not go over the same route than my normal connection. Most of the
time selecting Netherlands Server works good for me in Germany.

Ping doesn’t say much. Here 2 traces from me, first about my normal route
with my ISP German Telekom, the other with my VPN selecting a server in
Netherlands.

You normally install a client and then connect to the VPN, i have a list of maybe
20+ server around the world and depending on the server i get a different route
to my destination that has maybe less packet loss.

It also hides your real IP, so it may also have its use for other things ^^

The only solution is using a VPN whenever there is big lag at Level 3 or Telia or whoever
and use a Server that is using another route.

The problem is really crappy programming by Arena net in particular related to video drivers. If that was not the case then WoW would crash like crazy as well. But WoW is pretty stable and GW2, particularly after yesterdays patch is just crap.

The problem is really crappy programming of the video drivers.
An application just calls Direct-X calls but only the driver can cause the BSOD
because some functions are bad implemented.

Last time i had an NVidia Card was when Age of Conan was released and there
i had constand BSODs but only when i used Shader 3.0 and when there were
some special blue shiny effects.
After trying drivers from 173.xx back to 164.xx i found the 164.xx was quite
stable. Oh or i could play with shader 2.0 but that simply looked not so good.

Later in Runes of Magic the GMs also official posted my tip to go back to
164.xx in case you had problems with actual drivers.

And this is typical for NVidia .. i read the same again and again in forums that
Driver zzz is not stable and you better use yyy if you have prolems.
Or just look at all the problems with windows 10 … over 99% is maybe related
to NVidia.

This thread was thought for new players, so mostly for leveling in the open
world.

If we talk about “meta” we need new categorys :

Warrior, Guardian, Mesmer : all you need (old Meta)
Ele, Ele : easy mode (new meta)
Ranger, Necro : Impossible.

Post a crashlog if possible. Maybe your PC is infected with LavaSoftTCPService.dll
or you have installed MyPrivacy tools.

Ultra-easy: Necro (power build with wells made leveling a joke)
Easy: Warrior, Guardian, Ranger
Medium: Thief
Difficult: Mesmer, Elementalist, Engineer

Yeah .. Necro is one of the easier characters and also guardian.

Personally i wold maybe say :

Don’t know but i simply don’t find a way to kill trash mobs with a mesmer
in the time i need with any other class. And Engi can now be quite easy with

roughly 20 people have said that they have got a key within the past few hours, and one or two people even got two keys.

to contrast with the post about the nerf itself, people in that thread were unaware that keys even dropped, some mentioning that they had multiple precursors drop, but never seen a key over their entire playtime.

I wish i also would have a precursor for every key i got. So far maybe 12-15 key

Always write down your key anywhere .. and if it is on your computer make a
backup on another disk.
If you haven’t done that when you got the key from ANet you can see the key
in WinAuth with rightclick → Show Secret Key

This is not the issue, the issue is, if they have the setting we should be able to run them…

Plain and Simple and yet they do not offer reasonable solutions except

“run a repair”
“Check graphic Drivers”
“Lower settings”

First 2 I understand, the last one should never be an answer for machines that can handle it.

The thing is, its still a 32-Bit client that can only handle 4 GB of memory, and since
there is also some reserved for system usage and then there is memory fragmentation
normally at around 3,5 GB is the point when the programm crashes with an
OOM (out of memory) error.

So mostly setting amount if characters to medium already helps.

In the beginng we had a solution that was called “culling” but people complained
that it has hidden to much characters and even monsters, and now we have the
problem that some people with all maxed simply reach the limits and must
manually tone down their settings.

The beta characters are a copy of your account that was made when the beta started.

So all you change in the bank after that will be totally independent from each other.
Remove stuff from your normal bank doesn’t show on your beta accounts and
vice versa.

• Make the gathering dailies non specific. It’s just annoying to go just for this daily and shuns wvw.
• Make the event completer region specific. It’s annoying when lots of people crowd in just to tag events plus encouraging people to spread out isn’t bad.
• Change “Daily Fractal” to “Daily Dungeon or Fractal” ; I don’t know why dungeons keep getting left out
• Make World Boss Dailies non specific. Goes without saying. I don’t want to wait that long around for a specific world boss to spawn.

Currently, I think a lot of the pve dailies are too specific compared to the pvp and wvw counterparts, meaning I rarely end up doing the pve dailies unless they’re precisely not out of the way. I think I suggested things that will keep the ideas intact without as much annoyance.

In the end yeah .. more or less revert it back to what we had before .. like do
4 events anywhere in the world. Something like events in Shiverpeaks would
also be better.

I have no problems with the daily gatherer since that one at least is region and
not zone specific.

Else i am also for simply more choices .. like before where we often had 6 or more
choices for PvE stuff.

And stopp the dual fractal kitten .. some people will not go into your kitten
fractals no matter how hard you try to shove them there.

I have also the feeling it runs somehow slow .. its maybe since i have Win10, but am
not really sure about that.

repair it.

Or other said : if you want more detailed help give us more detailed information.
Hardware, software, OS Version .. the more the better.

They should simply write a little “if then else” code that salvaging no longer produces
essences of luck as soon as you have reached 300. Problem solved.

Yeah .. only real fix is to upgrade to 64-bit windows. At least with windows versions
from Microsoft you can use the same key for 32- and 64-bit, so you only need to
download a 64-bit ISO with your win version from MS.

The funny thing is that nearly nobody here posted what soundcard / driver
they use, even since this is clearly a problem related to sound.

I was told the GW2 Client runs as a 32-bit executable. So for as long as I recall, it did not surpass a 1.8GB RAM usage.

4 GB is the official maximum a 32-bit client can use under a 64-bit OS if its
compiled with large memory aware. However there is space substracted
for system usage and then there is memory fragmentation so in reality
its around 3.5 GB.

People with maxed setting often manage to bring the client to use over 3.5 GB
where the client crashes.

One of thr biggest factors is the amount and detail of shown player characters.

Expanding memory doesn’t help. Its a problem of the maximum memory that a
32-bit client is able to use, and you reach this limit. So the only thing you can do
is really only to reduce your graphics settings and maybe restart the client to
avoid reduce memory fragmentation.

If it is really in the proper slot, reseating the card often has helped.

However be aware you cannot sell these colors, so only choose one that you
also want to use and not just the one that has the highest price.

I’d put buy orders for exotics under 50 silver, buy exotics with dungeon tokens or buy exotics with sigils/runes that cost more than the piece itself and use black lion salvage kits on them. Doing this has gotten me about 200 dark globs over my years of playing

^ This. My limit actually is under 45 silver .. with the ectos you get from salvaging
you seldom have a loss, and sometimes even make some profit.

Oh .. and don’t use BLSK for that cheap stuff .. only mystic salvage kit or master.

I’d like to gift a HoT-key to a friend by purchasing the key on the Gw2 website with a paysafe card & then mail the key to my friend. I myself can not see why this wouldn’t work, but in the Dev Tracker I’ve just read about a guy who got his account terminated after upgrading it with a HoT key that he got from his friend.
Naturally I’m worried now and would like to know if I get issues with purchasing & sending the key to someone else, or if the process would be safe.

People buy gold at goldseller with their CC. Goldseller uses CC data to buy accounts.
At some point the guldbuyer gets aware of that and wants his money back, and at
that point ANet closes the account.

Did it start after an update of your NVidia drivers ? Try to revert to an older version.
And avoid installing any extra programms beside the drivers.

NVidia releases crappy drivers all day just to shine in some new games or whatever
but in my opinion it seems only 1 of 10 or 20 versions are really stable and the rest
have always issues for some people.

Yeah .. Out of memory crash. So just what i said in my first post.

Is your GPU in the slot next to your CPU ? Make sure it runs at @x16 and post
maybe a screenshot from GPU-z and CPU-z while GW2 is running, like this :

Lower graphics settings especially number and detail of shown players and
maybe restart the client before going to Teq.

Also : posting a crash log i never bad.

Maybe there is really a disk I/O error on your disk where the data for that specific
outfit is located.
I would check the windows system logs if you see some errors there, and also
check the smart status of your HDD.

Trying to copy (not move) your gw2 folder to somewhere else would also show
maybe if there is a problem.

You still don’t have to stand at the same spot killing the same mobs for 50 hours
just to make ONE MORE LEVEL .. like in real grinders like the original Lineage 2.

Thats all they said .. farming for some stuff takes time but is totally optional.
