I wouldn’t even complain about grinding the hero points if they were at least
soloable and don’t need a group .. and also don’t give any reward to players that
already made them, so nobody is interested helping you.

We killed the Vampire Beast Broodmother from 4th try, required ACTUAL thinking and teamwork, thanks for making the game very much enjoyable and not a dps fest, its a simple boss but still, heres the screenshoot attached of people ENJOYING the small win..
You know that sounded like quite an enjoyable fight and I am happy you had fun. But then I can’t help thinking to myself… all that difficulty built into acquiring one single hero point ???
So what happens when the map eventually quiets down a few months from now and some newbie comes along and meets that particular hero challenge ?
Does he have to go to the LFG tool and ask for a party to acquire said hero point ?
Sad game design is sad.
And nobody helps because doing a hero point more than once gives no loot or exp.
Even more sad game design
From the patch notes -
“The 15 new event-based hero challenges will also provide a daily reward for replaying them.
Additionally, all event-based hero challenges can be retriggered, even if they have already been completed.”Doesn’t this mean those type of Hero Challenges can be redone? Or am I reading it wrong? (note I haven’t had a chance to play properly yet. Stupid Saturday working >.<)
Most Challenges can be redone .. they only don’t give rewards the second time
so there is no motivation to help other players on a challenge you already made.
And once a day .. yeah .. stand at hero point .. ask for help ..
answers : ask again tomorrow

Go and play other games guys, cry as much as you want and then come back and see how awesome GW2 still is. There are issues yes, but the complainement here is unreal and impertinant.
I don’t want another game .. i simply go and play in old Tyra. But its sad to have
payed for the new expansion and already knowing that will mostly simply ignore it

Like Comon why havnt we get gotten a new Engine yet!! and before yall open your mouths i know this was said before but i ask you guys just why havnt we not gotten a new Engine.I dont ask for much but us XFX users are suffering from bad FPS which is messing up our Gameplay.Better yet would of been better to bring Dx 11 to the Game After HoT
I cannot tell the difference between the pictures you posted lol
Haha .. thought the same. After a while i noticed some stones on the left are
thicker on one of the pictures .. but i still have no clue what tha picture
should show us
Else i would say that a 64-Bit Client would have higher priority in my eyes
than another DX version, since that would at least help against OOM crashes
with maxed graphics.

FIX: I closed Razer Synapse and it fixed the issue. Is this a compatibility issue with Gw2/Synapse? Anyhow, The problem is fixed entirely. I will try and redownload Synapse to see if it will work somehow with Gw2 again. Thank you for the response anyways.
I’m using synapse since the start of gw2,never had this issue, you sure it’s not caused by something else conflicting with synapse perhaps ?
I also use Synapse since maybe a year, and never had those kind of problems.

They already explained why on reddit a while ago. Doesnt mean it wont happen, but the upshot is due to how their engine works, they dont believe there would be a signicant upgrade in performance.

Guild Treasure Trove will be auto unlocked from the Market.

If you set characters to colored blobs instead (without textures) it takes much more time to crash. If you set it to medium or high details, even if you get 60fps and have the most powerful mac on the planet the game will crash every hour or less in large fights or boss battles.
That is the same on PCs also in the end, since a 32 bit programm can only use 2 GB
under 32-Bit Windows and 4 GB under 64-Bit Windows. And we also have memory
fragmentation, thats a problem of how C++ manages memory.

The big question is if Cider emulates 32 or 64-Bit Windows.

Post the crashlog, or look if you see something like “OOM” in it.
Also make sure that charactermodel-limit is NOT set to maximum. Medium often
already helps tp prevent OOM crashes. I have also quality on medium and can’t
remember that i ever had an OOM crash.

Hi rho is war – Unfortunately there isn’t really an “official” fix as various resolutions have come about in regards to this issue, however, the location of your local.dat file is by default Documents\Guild Wars 2. So wherever your “My Documents” folder is located, you should see a Guild Wars 2 folder within it, and there should be the local.dat file.
I have to correct you here, the local.dat is normally placed under :
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2
Appdata is a hidden folder, but you can reach appdata\roaming if you enter
%AppData% in the run field of your startmenu. Or change your explorer
settings to show hidden files and directorys.
Screenshots are still under Documents .. and i think i remember that local.dat
was there also after release, but it was changed for whatever reasons.

Newer Driver are not always better. Last time i owned a NVidia card i had to go
back 8 versions to find a version that didn’t gave me blue screens ever now and then.So should I just roll it back 1 version at a time until it stops crashing?
That was at least what i did.

pretty sure devs don’t want the game to become like WoW where if you’re not in the specific set of gear party owner wants you to be in you get kicked.
Hey .. they brought ANet already so far to implement Raids with the best available
armor only available there .. so why not this as next ?
Or first mounted open world PvP ?

If your PC just powers off while GW2 is running (IE loses power completely) that is 99% of the time thermal protection. Meaning your CPU is over heating. 1% of the other time is a failing PSU, site fault protection trips when too many amps are drawn on the 12v rail.
I would rate the chance of a failing PSU much higher.
Was totally astounded a while ago when somebody in our guild had a defect
CPU cooler and could still play GW2 .. the game was very slow because CPU
ran at minimum speed .. but the PC was not crashing or shutting down.
Personally in the last 10-12 years i had that problem 3 times because my PSU
was aged.

If you have enough space you can also try the following :
create a folder on your harddisk and copy the content of your GW2 folder into it.If you have disk problems the copy may already hang at some point. Else if the
copy is finished start GW2 from the new folder.Hah, tried that. PC froze at first, had to shut it down. Tried again then, and it copied files normally. But I still get the same error. I can’t log into Rata Sum at all. Maybe I should find some other forums that deal with laptop problems or something :/
PC froze when just copying files ? That shows clearly its not a problem of GW2
but of your harddisk or cable. You can however try now to repair the copied version
and do NOT delete the old version because that one sits mostly on some
defect sectors and blocks them so that nothing else is written there.
However that doesn’t say you don’t have more defect sectors.

- Rebalance all paths to be same difficulty as Aetherpath
Or for the same effect but with much less work they could simply do this :
if the intent of anet is to literally make dungeons so unappealing that people will not do them, why not just remove them from the game entirely and be done with it?

Maybe its really a disk I/O error. Check your windows system logs and also the
smart status of your drive if you run out of redirection blocks.
Of course it could also be a defect SATA cable, so if you have some spare cables
just try to change it.

You have some software on your PC that interfers with your TCP/IP connection.
Could be a VPN, virus scanner, firewall or malware.
A lot of people in the last time had for example problems with LavasoftTcpService.dll

that’s not what i’m talking about. they will release a total of 16 new legendary weapons, no new underwater legendaries.
it would be nice if they could just make land versions of the underwater ones we currently have, don’t need new ones
I know the idea of flying sharks on land got more popular since Sharknado but i dont think the flying shark animations would make much sense on land in Guild Wars 2.
We need more land sharks

Not really new. Frostfang gives you an icy effect on your arms, and i think Incinerator

I am having a strange problem with the same code C0000005. Since the most recent Gw2 update if I run the game in full screen mode it freezes, if I window it I can play. Any ideas on how to fix this? I am running windows 8.1, and also need help locating the Gw2.exe file so I can run the fix if needed. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Right click on the symbol you start GW2 with, then select properties. There you should
see where your GW2.exe is located.

I love exploring the world, I hate doing hearts, get rid of the hearts (or make those god awful bars fill faster) and id probably be mapping te world on every alt i have
Oh yeah .. especially that heart in the swamp of Queensdale .. it always feels like
i need an hour to complete it.
Else i’m also very slow at mapping and need normally 1 hour for 1% .. when i finally
brought one character from 70% to 100% i needed over 30 hours for that.

I have also the feeling you need to buy the items with a class that can wear them.
Bought a while ago some heavy armor with my mage, and the achievements didn’t
change. Then i bought the same again with my ele and got some advancement.

Gold to Gems shouldn’t be considered in the calculations at all. It’s entirely dictated by the imbalance in gems bought vs gems sold. Gems bought is dictated by gold availability and desirable items on the Gem Shop.
It was just more that some people think the prices there have exploded while i
for myself thought before ascended weapons i payed 30 gold for 1000 gems
that took me 15 hours farming at that time .. later when 1000 gems were at
150g that in the end only costed me 10 hours farming.
So alot in the end is relative from price to money that you can farm. In that
case there was for example also a big deflation for T3 armor since you can
get the money for it now much faster.
