Year ago, people said you could extract expensive infusions with it, but now we have Infusion Extraction Device that can be acquired for 24 silvers, lol.
Please, make this item useful. By any statistics, I doubt anyone is buying that.
They should just remove that item, and give us somthing similiar to the infusion
extractor for the same price or even for less, since infusions are mostly more
expensive than rune and sigills.
The existance of the Infusion Extractor leeds the Upgrader Extractor ad absurdum.

The new meta is called “Nevermore” .. i heared you needed 90 spiritwood planks
for it o.O
And its all wood .. yesterday hard wood was 5s, seasoned was 4s and even T5 was at 2s.
Spiritwood planks were long time under 5g i think, and now they are over 15g.
However .. as another hardcore harvester i have no problems with that

Sidenote: One thing Im worried though is that GPU-Z Bus Interface Says it is PCI-E 2.0 × 16 @1 2.0 but when I hover my mouse on it… it says "It is currently running at PCI-E x1 v2.0.
Either your GPU is in the wrong slot, normally the slot next to the CPU is the x16 ,
or its just a contact problem, and reseating you GPU may help.
In GPU-z you have to see @x16 however.

All gathering tools are gathering at the same speed and it might be intented that the music will not allways play.
Not really .. the Consortium and Molten Alliance sickle are noticeable faster, and also
most other gemshop sickles allow me to interrupt the annimation as soon as i see that
i got the ressources, so they can also be a little faster like normal orichalcum tools.

I made a dozen ascended weapons by mining and cutting wood all by myself. It can be done for a legendary, too, it you do not want to throw 1,500g at the trading post. See it as a long term goal.
Also you’re not really “playing” the game if you’re just mindlessly roaming in boring low level map logging like bots and Chinese slaves workers. You’re better than this.
Why do some people always think that their playstyle is superior what other do ?
I could also write that it is totally mindless to just follow the herd in other maps
just like a mindless sheep. The most efficient way of gathering woods is ignoring every possible mobs and events, running in a circle looking for woods. You call that not mindless? Plus lv1~60 maps are a joke that pose no threat at all while running around, so they can easily be ignored.
There’s not even rich woods like rich ores to begin with. Taking 200~300% longer to get woods than getting ores.
Ok then, be it your way. Hope you enjoy that logging.
First i also mostly farm rich iron and platinum veins, that are often gurarded
by veterans, also finding a good route where you get the most ressources in
the shortest time needs maybe still more brain than mindlessly following
just a commander tag.
Also for rich node :
Iron can give 1-2 per swing thats mostly 12-15
gold, silver, platinum give only 1 per swing so thats normally 10
and then there are the 1-3 bonus swings you can always have from WvW bonus.

(edited by Beldin.5498)
I’m going to copy-paste my previous post.
“On my fastest fastest character (perma 33% walk speed, staff/ GS Druid), it took me 45 minutes to gather 200 soft wood.
I need 8000 soft woods for 100 Spirit Woods, that’s like 30 hours.
Then I need 6000 Hard Woods, that’d be 22.5 hours.
Then I need 3000 Season woods, that’s like 11.25 hrs.
Then I need 15000 Elder Woods, that’s like 56.25 hrs.
Total time of logging: 120 hours."
For seasoned wood and hard woods i would say that goes a lot faster, however
it depends on the number of character you have and the current map layout.
But in Dredgehaunt Cliffs i often can get 40 seasoned in 5-6 minutes and in
Timberline falls the same numbers on hard wood. So with 10+ character that
will give 400+ per hour.

Hi there,
I have the same problems like you. For me it doesn’t matter if the 3d option in nvidia configuration is on or off.
Just the setting with shaders ingame have an effect.
Low/Medium = everything fine
High = ground is blackWhy does nobody fix this?
Ask NVidia .. or try maybe older drivers, since NVidia often breaks stuff in newer
releases, just to shine with high FPS in the newest FotM game.
And no, i don’t have these problems with my Radeon R9 280x, but i still remember
all the bluescreens i had in Age of Conan as soon as i used Shader Model 3 with
the NVidia card i had at that time. Going back 10+ driver versions fixed it mostly.

Thanks, I suspected it was just a 32-bit Windows fix. Although it helps confirm that the problem is with the client specifically.
I am already trying different wineskin options, although I appreciate the link!
It is a 32-bit Windows fix, it allows 32-bit windows to use 3 GB instead 2 GB per
application. However you have a MAC and not Windows, and Cider is just a wrapper
to run 32-bit windows applications and not a real windows.

My biggest beef with the Tyrian Mastery points is how they were distributed. 13 of them in FotM are far too many. 8 requiring a gem store purchase of the Living Story season for new accounts. 5 for the Silverwaste Legendaries which is nothing more than a time sink waiting for them to spawn.
+1 to this. I have a total of 24 points and nothing more to level, since all other points
are either FotM or extreme grindy stuff.
Not that i really need Legendary of FotM masterys, when i don’t play fractals, but
its still annoying when all the exp no goes into nothing.

I programmed somehow (finally got it to work after months of trying) managed to make super special keys on my mouse to do a skill in game (like the toggle scroll on /off). Those buttons are not recognized by gw2 itself.
Now the problem: 64 bit they don’t work. Re-opening 32 bit works fine… It was way to hard to setup to now just copy to 64 bit, the software also doesn’t give an option to copy past or change the allocation. I tried a lot of combinations, but didnt managed to get it right
Any advice? This is very annoying as my elite skills and nr 7 skill are not only usefull by clicking.
Update: You cannot change the map folder but you can add/remove games, by choosing their .exe file. Wich is how I added 64 bit exe-file. Now both clients work. This spared a lot of work, cause setting up the keybypass structure to make mouse buttons ingame work that are not recognized by gw2 is very complex. I didn’t wanna do it again.
Do you use something like Razer Synapse where you have a profile that is bound
to GW2.exe ? If so just rename gw2-64.exe to gw2.exe.

If that’s not the case, I also would recommend getting HoT through a third party. They go for as low as ~30 €.
I would not recommend that, at least not if they are not on the official reseller list
else you mostly will get banned because the key was bought with stolen credit cards. The official reseller list is just a list of “official reseller”. Everyone and their mother can still set up shop and buy the game for resale from a distributor, then scan the codes from the box and sell them online. Every bit as legit.
Of course some shadier online shops may be selling stolen keys, but that’s another story.
Have you seen after release in the Help Forums how many people were banned
because the bought their keys from sites like MMOGA ?
If something is too cheap there mostly is a reason, or would you buy HoT for 40
just to resell it for 30 ?

So what do you think about this reward system? Is it fair? Does it reward players for what they did?
If not: What can be changed to make it fair?
Do you even want a fair reward system or is a system where you can watch a tv show while someone else does most of the work more to your liking?
Its much fairer than beeing AFK with Healing Spring as autoattack and gaining credit.
Else nearly all support / healing spells also deal damage, so there is absolutly no
reason for dealing zero damage beside beeing lazy.

A lot of people already had OOM crashes with 32-Bit windows before HoT, and
even Age of Conan that was released over 7 years ago had OOM crashes with
32-Bit. 32-Bit Wndows is outdated … get over it, the same as Win98 was outdated
at some point.
Also you can install 64-Bit with your 32-Bit key, just download the ISO at MS for free.
Oh .. and if you really want to stay with 32-Bit .. go back to XP, since that uses less
memory for DX-9 than all later Versions, and so maybe has less crashes. AION, also
already some years old, had at least less OOM crashes under XP than under
Win7-32.

The problem is waypoints that are contested when there is nothing happening. You can go up to them and wipe every mob from the area but it stays contested because it is waiting some random event to enable it to be clear. Most of Orr waypoints are useless and may as well not even exist because of this terrible feature.
There is one Waypoint in Frostgorge Sound that is always contested when a Event
spawns in the area behind .. even if the mobs never ever come to that WP since
there are Walls between it … i always “loved” that.
And Orr .. oh yeah .. was recently more often there for hunting Hero Points, and i
had totally forgotten how bad it is.

I don’t understand that people not get that raiding itself is simply a very elitist
form of gaming, and not something you can do in a PUG.Do you really think people will form a PUG Raid, then ask every person for their
API key and then decide if they fit into their PUG ?What makes you think GW2 won’t be the same as WOW, Rift and most others in which PUG leaders demand to know your Gearscore (if such a mechanic exists), or else your AP total, demand certain achievements, etc?
Of course GW2’s raiding ‘scene’ will degenerate in exactly the same way, because many raiders are of the same mentality no matter which game they’re playing.
I hate raiding .. i was one who was always vocal against raiding in GW2, but now
you have got it, and people who want to raid have to live with all that stuff that
comes with it.
Thats all i think about it.
And no matter if we have such a side or not, and if we have gearscore or not,
that will not change anything .. if you want to play with the elitists you have
to live with elitist behaviour.

The Fire Elemental is another one that goes down insanely fast. It’s such a pity, really. A Boss fight should not be over so quickly.
If I’m on a Boss train I’ll do those two, just for the loot. But I personally find them to be really anticlimactic, and not much fun at all.
Hopefully the Devs might consider at least adding some more HPs to them…
The fire elemental does take a while longer now i have noticed. Its still fast but for
me the main problem is the overlond pre-quest. So for me they can make the
fight longer but only if they shorten the “Waiting for Godot” pre.I really wish more pre-quests were like Svanir Shaman, were you start at Point A
and on your way to point B where the boss is, you do some short events, instead
of having pres that are so far away from the boss that mostly nobody does them./map is anyone doing the pre?
Is it just me or has the shaman changed lately? It used to be a bit of grinding and he would be dead. Now he usually has time to wander around first.

A2 I have never kicked any player until after HOT release, I kicked players who obviously don’t have HOT, because I feel they can not contribute as much damage due to the lack of elite specialization, and I dont like people leeching (when they are playing for free and I have to pay 50 dollars!)

In a game that wants to focus on inclusive play, and not excluding others based on their “preformance” a DPS meter that could be used to compare one person to another wouldn’t be welcome.
A meter for your personal DPS that was unviewable by any other might be ok, but anything more would obviously be used for the same purposes they are used in other MMOs.
Vanialla was inclusive .. HoT is exclusive .. its all just for those that wanted
“challenging content” end especially “exclusive rewards”.
So why not give them raiders their DPS meters .. maybe also aggro-meters, and
since they got healer we should also get real tanks.

64 bit client stopped my computer crashes for about a week, but now straight back to Machine_Check_Error blue screens, I’m so tired of this. I’ve tried everything, this computer’s only 2 months old I just want to be able to play my game.
And all support ever does is advice me to do the same steps I’ve done several times before already and told them I had.
Its a problem with your hardware. Enduser programs can’t generate Bluescreens
they are mostly related to hardware or driver problems.
A Machine Check Exception (MCE) is a type of computer hardware error that occurs when a computer’s central processing unit detects a hardware problem.
Microsoft Windows displays the error using the blue screen of death containing the error message (the parameters inside the brackets vary):1
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machine-check_exception
STOP: 0×0000009C (0×00000004, 0×00000000, 0xB2000000, 0×00020151) “MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION”
On Linux, a process (such as klogd2) writes a message to the kernel log and/or the console screen (usually only to the console when the error is non-recoverable and the machine crashes as a result):

I don’t have any problems with FPS, cuz I usually play with “Best Performance” settings, but using WPs, or going to another map usually takes a lot of time (10-20 seconds average) which is quite annoying. So that’s why I’m considering buying SSD now, but I want to know what to expect. Is it going to make loading screens time shorter 20%, 30% , or maybe 50%? Is SDD worth it at all?
Here is my PC configuration:
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-M Pro
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K, 3500 MHz
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 (1024 MB)
Memory: 8 GB (DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM)
HDD: WDC (1000 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-III)Maybe I should upgrade some other parts as well? But as I said, I dont care much about graphics, I only use “Best Appeareance” setting for screenshots and chilling in Guild Hall or etc. So I just want fastest map loading times possible.
hey buddy the problem is not ssd, the problem is your cpu. graphic card! both are outdated! buy a new pc man!
I have the same CPU … and it is not really that outdated in my eyes. After all i read
so far the newer i5 CPUs would give me maybe 10-20% more performance and
for that i don’t pay 4-500 € for a new CPU + Mainboard + maybe RAM.
I play with these settings, and have no problems with them and also had never
OOM crashes. Ohh .. i have a R9 280x GPU, don’t know how the NVidia of the
OP is, since i deeply dislike NVidia for all their driver problems.

SSD for GW2 only brings faster loading times when you login or change a zone.
Personally i don’t had so much benefit from it in GW2 than i had in Windows
since the time it takes to boot or launch programms is so much faster.
And especially installing Windows Updates is extreme faster .. with HDD you wait
5 minutes .. with SSD its 20 seconds or whatever.

How about adding an upgrade slot to all unlimited tools and have upgrades available from the gem store (or crafting?) that enhance the tool. For example: change the watchwork pick so it (†by default) comes with a “% chance to mine sprockets” upgrade (†by default: this is to keep the existing owners of the ww pick happy). Other mining upgrades might be “% chance to mine candy corn”, “% chance to increase resource yield”, etc. There would also be upgrades available for the unlimited logging axes and gathering tools.
That would give more outcry than leave them as they are, since Candy Corn is
worth less than sprockets and people would only complain about that.
Oh .. and where i personally would also complain is getting snowflakes that
you must destroy all the time .. lol.
So in the end the only “fair” solution is add sprockets to all types of gemstore picks.
