the only gw2 files i found is in computer>program files x86>guild wars 2 but its only gw2.dat, i cant find anywhere on the computer gw2.exe.
when i started the download i got 2 options, 1. start downloading using run gw2setup.exe or 2. open folder to view files.
- Save GW2setup.exe in the same folder where your GW2.dat is located.
- rename GW2Setup.exe to GW2.exe
- start GW2.exe or create a shortcut on your desktop and start with that.

not, and they said yes but i should better wait and not continue before its fixed.

So you should learn a bit maybe how windows works.
How do you start the game ? If via shortcut inspect the shortcut to see where the
gw2.exe is located. All other files are downloaded into the same directory.
Now if you just download the gw2.exe in something like your %temp% directory
or your browser cache and execute it from there it will maybe be deleted whenever
you clear your cache or temp.
So use “save as” when downloading, download to a directory like c:\games\gw2
that you must create first, and after download go there, create shortcut to the
gw2.exe on your desktop and start it from there.

Yeah .. not all mobs in the game stand still and let you have 100% DPS uptime
like a training golem. And thats where all these numbers came from .. fighting
against stupid training golems. What does dps uptime means? damage per second uptime doesn’t have any sense.
Uptime means the time when you actually do damage .. if you dodge for example
you don’t do damage. At the golem you never have to dodge, so you have 100%
uptime .. in a fight you need to dodge, maybe you get stunned or downed or the
boss gets invulnerable … or whatever .. in all those moments you don’t do damage
so your DPS is far less than any theortical value. That could also maybe bring a
ranged player nearer to the DPS of a melee if the ranged don’t needs to dodge
so much. Or even if they dodge, they can start doing damage right after that
while the melee has to run back to the mob and looses even more time.

The bags are still RNG .. so you may get leather, or other mats. From the dredge bags
i would say maybe 1 out of 5 or 10 gives leather.
Ettins in Timberline are also bad to kill, they have a lot more HPs than other mobs,
so try maybe the dredge in dredgehaunt cliffs. I just kill them when i’m there to
harvest iron ore ^^

Must say, i didn’t even knew they are not salvageable. However the only exotic
backpacks we had before were from temples in Orr, and i guess they also are
not salvageable.Another reason is maybe, that they work like a mini ascended item, since they also
have infusion slots.Well, we have great lucky ram lanterns since the start of the year but those also arent salvageable or forgeable.
The temple armor was the only alternative before we got the crafted ones. The ram
bags came after we already had the crafted.
I’m only a little sad that they stealth nerfed the stats of them, since they had at first
even a little more total stats with a level 65 jewel than the temple stuff with a
level 80 jewel.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
so if I understand this scaling principle correctly, if I want drops for tier 4 leathers, I should make cast of characters to get to that level range. That even if i get bags that are supposed to drop that tier of mats, scaling makes it scale up to my lvl range automatically . so at lvl 80 I’m in essence cutting my own hands off because i’ve reduced my chances of getting lower tier mats.
Nope .. the bags listed in the wiki always give the listed items, no matter what level
your character is.
Your level only has impact on drops of armor and weapons, and opening champion
bags.

Yeah .. they also already had nerfed the direct gold from champ bags 2 times
long before we even got SW .. and at that time i already wondered why the hell
don’t they also nerf direct money from dungeons. And than they even nerfed
direct gold from events from 1.20s to 90c or whatever .. but they still didn’t
touched the holy cow that were dungeons.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
The problem is that loot scales to your level, so as level 80 you mostly get also
level 80 armor drops that just give T5 or T6 leather. So you can mostly just
get leather from salvaging pelts, or from opening bags.
Personally i get it now and than from the bags that the dredge in dredgehaunt cliffs
drop, but thats not really much.
Here is a longer list :

Edit (since somebody postet while i was still writing) :
You don’t need to open those bags with low level chars, that is only relevant for
champion bags.

(3 armor sets in an expansion? That’s so laughably ludicrous It sounds like a bad joke. I can’t stress enough how paltry that is.), put all the rewards into the gem store & gave the players large lengths of time between rewards.
Its especially such a joke, since we don’t even get any new armor sets in the gemstore
because, like it was posted in a blog a while ago, all armor sets should now be
exclusive ingame rewards.
Since i have no fun playing the new maps, and those 3 new sets are also totally ugly
in my eyes, i have till now just gotten revenant gloves and boots as new skins from
an expansion that costed as much as the initial game, that had 100s of skin sets.
So since introduction of the wardrobe 1.5 years ago, the only new complete
armor skin-set i have got is Carapace .. everything else is from before we even got
the wardrobe.
And that is the greatest joke of all.

I hope the living story brings more depth into the HoT-maps (because the maps itself are the best I’ve seen in any rpg/mmo-game I’ve played so far)
Living story is dead since we finished Scarlet. LS2 is just a bunch of instances that don’t
change anything (beside some very small changed) in the open world.
Its more a dead story .. but people wanted it so it seems since they don’t liked the
temporary character that made the world more alive in LS1.

one charged crystal.

Like many others, I assumed it was perhaps that they were saving them for HoT or something, but now… who knows. Maybe they were just so busy with HoT that they didn’t have time for that sort of thing even for a joint HoT release, but that doesn’t seem to have slowed down outfits or weapon skins, so… yah, kind of a mystery. I hope they haven’t reached the point where they aren’t going to add any more period.
Oh yeah .. the same like i thought new armor skins would come with HoT, since
we also only got Carapace in the last 1.5 years since introduction of the wardrobe.
So for a full price expansion i expected nearly as much skins as in the original game.
But i guess new hairstlyes will also be only available as exclusive raid rewards in
the future.

I dont understand the OPs post.
If the game was so much fun prior to HOT, and now playing HOT isnt fun , then just dont play HOT.
Play the part of the game that was fun before HOT.
In an MMO its not compulsory to do everything.
Thats what i do .. but it still also sometimes simply sucks the fun out of that if you
know that you payed for an expansion and you simply dont play it because it
is no fun for you.
It simply often makes me feel torn that i on the one hand think i really should do
some of the HoT stuff, but on the other hand feel absolutely no motivation to
ever go there again.

How should people understand things when you only make some very vague remarks ?
John Smith said a while ago : The LFG tool is no grey market !
So if you abuse it for some kind of transactions that have nothing to do with playing
together, its a clear abuse and can be reportet.
Also here is the official policy :
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Policy-on-the-LFG-Tool/first#post4768699
The LFG (Looking for Group) Tool is intended to be used to help put together a group to enjoy game content, such as Open World, Fractals of the Mists, or PvP. Over the last several weeks players have expressed increased concern about abuse of the LFG Tool as a growing number of individuals have begun using the LFG Tool to advertise the sale of in-game items.
Clearly, if a group-formation tool is flooded with item sales and trade messages, it will be difficult for players to use it for its intended purpose. Beyond that, trades and sales initiated in the tool are at high risk for scams. While our Customer Support Team will take action on the accounts of players who engage in scams and other disallowed activities, they generally will not be able to replace items of players who fall victim to these unscrupulous individuals.
Our policy: Players may use the LFG Tool only for the formation of a group.
Players may use the tool to sell a spot in a group, but they may not use it to sell or trade items or for any other unintended purposes. Doing so will result in an account infraction.
You can help us reduce the spam and refocus the tool by reporting individuals who are misusing the LFG Tool. Simply click on the name of that player in your chat window, right click, choose “Report,” and then choose “LFG System Abuse.” With your help we’ll be able to keep the LFG Tool clear for your use in forming groups.

Yeah .. i also bought the 100 € version, and have spent maybe 4-5 hours max in the
new areas, and have absolutely no interest to go there ever again. So what did i got for that ? A (not even full skilled) Reaper and Dragonhunter and
Tyria mastery. Heck .. not even some new armor skins, and that in a skin based
game. Oh forgot .. its now all about raiding like in every other MMO.Yeah stuff on HoT does take a while to get. It’s unfortunate that you actually have to WORK for the things you want. People have been complaining for a long time that the game is too easy and that GW2 lacks any kind of end-game content. But, now that content is here, they complain that it’s too hard because they can’t grind it out in the first week.
When i work i normally get paid for .. fine if other people like to pay for doing “work”
but thats not what all people like.
And the complainers that wanted harder content, firstly wanted that as instanced
content, and for that are the raids, and not as open world stuff, and especially
have i never heared for having masses of harder open world mobs packed up all
in a maze where nobody really stops to fight them, but just trains trough and
hopes that you get somewhere alive. There is no real fun in explorig, its just
“run Forest run !!!
And secondly those people were just a fraction of 1% (only 1% of the player post
actually in the forum according to the german CM) of the GW2 players.
