1 – No, there is no way to “kitten” your character, all skills and traits can be changed, races doesn’t make any difference, the worst thing you can do is invest in a bad gear, but it is just a matter of buy new gear, nothing else.
2 – Yes, single weapon set builds is totally viable, many builds only change weapon for something like an occasional ranged weapon or a set with good mobility to run in the open world and during the fight only use 1 weapon set.

Sincerely … loging into the forum and creating this topic takes more time than finish most of the tutorial instances. :P
But yeah, you can’t skip the tutorial.

The thing with runes of the ranger is you may get too much precision, I use runes of the ranger because I use some zerker/valk asc trinkets so my precision is in a good range, make sure that you have about 90% crit rate with fury + spotter.
I also don’t really like the scholar runes, I would go for strength runes, specially if you have 3 in NM, that way your pet will have a good amount of might.

You do still have to pay to transmute at level 80.
Yes I know, but before the update BLC and buy from TP was the only options to get t-crystal to transmute lvl 80 gear, now you just need to do 1 city map to a guaranteed t-charge, so now it is way easier (easier =/= free).
I don’t have any issues with the current system, since all of my characters are already 80, but I can see how it could affect lower levels.
In the other hand, new players will probably be ignorant to the fact that things used to be different, so they won’t care.
I’m in the same boat and completely agree.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
If it is your 1st toon then you won’t have many skins to change till lvl 80, also you get a charge for every city you complete and a big chance to get when finishing any other map.
If you are leveling an alt, then you probably have tons of tomes of knowledge and t-charges, you don’t need to change the skin of your alt every 5~10 levels.
I have 8 lvl 80’s, most of my alts I bought the lvl 30 cultural and kept till lvl 80 transmuting every 10~15 levels (my male ele and thief was exception, the HoM set looks too good and doesn’t require t-stones
) and still I had almost a stack of transmutation stones before the update, even if the changes of getting a charge is 1/10 of used to be it is still very easy to keep changing your skins.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
What if I just want to change 1 piece of gear under lvl 19 for example? The charge would be “wasted”?
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Macha (asura) sure seemed to have a stalker crush on Cobiah Mariner (human) in Sea of Sorrows.
I think she is more jealous of him with Isaye than have an actual crush, but yeah, that may be a second example, still a very rare situation in the GW lore.

Devs avoided the topic created by themselves to talk about rangers, do you think that any other topic will be touched by a dev to actually say something besides “We are reading don’t worry” or “This topic are getting too many fight and will be locked” and so on?
Almost every post in the ranger CDI was from just a community manager that sadly is not even working at Anet anymore, answers and real feedback is something I don’t expect anymore about rangers.

We have GS and Sword as melee, neither have an AoE skill that doesn’t rely just on cleave, even our AoE utilities (traps) only hit 3 targets … I’m really confused.
Cleave is kinda aoe, Sword AA 3 is aoe.
I know that, but for some reason it was said that we have “Sustained melee AoE” and that is totally wrong, we have only 1 AoE skill that hit more than 3 targets and it is in the LB.
Bonfire, traps and cleave attacks only hits up to 3 targets, and our highest melee DPS weapon only cleave 1/3 of the time … “Sustained melee AoE” is the opposite of what we have.
I think I understood the notes wrong, and “Sustained melee AoE” is pointed as our weakness but was written among our supposed strengths for unknown reasons , otherwise I’m still very confused.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
No idea what the devs meant by “Sustained melee AoE”.
You have to view this from a WvW and I guess PvP standpoint (even though power isn’t used that much there.) The melee weapons offer phenomenal staying power, and they do so through more evades and more often than any other class.
Ah, so they meant that we have a good survivability at melee against AoE, and not that we cause good sustained melee AoE damage, that makes more sense.

Also … highest ranged DPS? Only against stationary golems, w/o buffs using auto-attack as parameter, right?

Yes, you can trade stats after you change the legendary skin.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
The AC trick was patched, so you can’t make weapons super glow anymore.
If you change the skin of the legendary it lose all the visual effects, including footsteps and aura.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
“Increased stat scaling”
O.o when that happened, I completely overlooked that.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
If you mean taxi as moving someone to the server shard you are, then both need to be in the same party and map but in different instances of that map, then the player that want to go to other instance right-click the party member that is in the target instance and select “Join <player> in <map name>”, if there is space in that map you’ll be taxied there.

About the mark for dev reading a topic, it would only create a new reason for people to whine, posts like “devs only read topic from some users”, “devs never read my topics” and so on, would flood the forums, and even when a topic get a dev read tag, some would complain that they don’t answer, believe me, not many posters are mature enough.
An Off Topic sub forum would be very welcome, many here would like to discuss outside game subjects with the community that plays the game.

1) what is the glass of the roof window of the Great Lodge is made of, since it can appearently hold the weight of both the massive chains and the fang itself?
The question is how thick that glass is, and keep in mind that was made by norns, so you know it is good quality
2) if the tooth is invulnerable, how did they manage to drill the latches of the chains into its base?
They glued the chains there, haha … well, who knows? It can really be some kind of glue.

My Thought:
-pvp players don’t care about useless mini pets so this reward is useless
-pve completionist players care about this reward and 99% they won’t be able to get it.So:
- pvp players unhappy (bad unique reward)
- pve players unhappy (can’t get it)the idea of unique reward for this tournament is good but anet chose the wrong reward (they could choose weapons/armor/finisher/title, basically everything lol)
gg
You’ll probably be able to sell that mini on TP, so PvP player will get tons of gold and the PvE player will be able to brag as he wants, both sides happy.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Let the game have some exclusive items, it is good to have something that have any prestige, that is something GW2 is really lacking.
In gw1 there was some mini pets given as rewards from some events, a good example is the Mad King’s Guard that was given as reward in 3 events that happened in the Halloween, so right now there is only 66 of those minis in game, also the Kanaxai for 2 art contests, so currently there are only 2 in game, so have any of those is VERY prestigious, unlike anything in game right now.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
1 – It is a matter of opinion most of the time, in the manifesto was understood that we wouldn’t get any grind in the game and every build would be viable, but lets face it, it is an impossible goal and people are complaining about it.
2 – In PvE conditions is still non viable, since there is a hard cap on how many condition a target can have, 2 players causing condition or 20 is the same thing, in dungeons power builds in melee is the meta.
3 – Elitists will exist everywhere in any game, try to join a guild and run dungeons with them.
4 – “kitten” is the work used in the forum word filter, “hambow” is a warrior build that use hammer and bow and focus on CC.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Dishonor I think is only applied in solo and team arenas, hot joins you can leave anytime.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Talk with a commander or a WvW guild and check when they can or plan to try to cap the garrison, your server don’t need to succeed you just need to enter it, after the doors are broken run to the vistas and done.
Also try to go there during the WvW reset, it happens on Fridays about 1 hour after the daily reset.

-_-
SAB is an event inside a game, the main purpose of SAB is to hype the players and be used as a bait to get some players that left the game and also keep other players in the game, also it is a side project, if SAB was permanent, any new update there wouldn’t be nearly as “dramatic” as it is now.
deSade, you are comparing SAB with the wrong “product”.
If the game offer a reason to replay it I’ll replay it, but I’m sure that most games I play once or twice and then never touch it ever again, SAB would be the same, I would play till I get the achieves and the skins I want and then never set a foot there again.
Southsun is permanent but it was never meant to be a “big deal” like SAB is, if Southsun wasn’t permanent you would be WAY more eager to play it when it would be available.
I never said that making SAB permanent would make the sky fall … it would just make SAB lose its shiny a lot faster, personally I can’t wait for SAB to come back and use my infinite continue coin to finish the world 2 tribulation mode (I was busy making my legendary back then) and also do all the world 3.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Ops true, I got confused with Balthazar and Menzies, Grenth just took place of Dhuum as God of Death.
EDIT: OP, for a 1st cosplay you picked a kinda difficult one, I hope that you make a good one and post images here

Hi all,
We understand the frustration over having to wait to receive your rewards, and we appreciate your patience. The issue was very complex, and we needed to take the appropriate amount of time to sort it all out, and ensure a proper solution. We anticipate being able to provide another update with an ETA for the fix, soon.
Thank you.
I can imagine that the problem was some part of the code where the update command for the DB used the wrong filter for some players that transferred server during the tournament and now the table list is a bit messed and find a solution where a rollback isn’t needed took a good while.

In GW1 he appears in an elite area called Underworld.
He is the brother of the current human god of death Grenth.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yes, but then at lvl 80 you had to buy from gem store and all the tons of transmutations you have would be useless.
Current system makes transmutation below lvl 80 a bit harder than before and at lvl 80 WAY easier, sounds like an ok deal.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Complete a city map 6 times and you can transmute a whole set.
Rata Sum and The Grove takes about 15 mins each to complete.

1 – Yes it is possible to get ascended weapons and armors as drop, usually from champion bags, WvW rewards, and also PvP chests from the tracks, but the chances are very low and specially from the stats you want.
2 – Incinerator material list and all the details you can find here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Incinerator
3 – I’m not good at gold farming, but dungeon runs is a good way of make gold.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
1 – The first dungeon is available at lvl 30, the Ascalon Catacombs, for more info check the wiki: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dungeon
2 – In PvP you can’t pick the opponents, in general if you want to join better matches go for solo arena, again more info on wiki: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Structured_PvP#Solo_Arena
3 – Just play the game and try to diverse what you do, everything gives exp, crafting, gathering, missions, personal story, map completion, with dailies even leveling itself gives more exp.

Ranger is the best for Sub 7, I killed it with 5 gambits in about 15 seconds.
Check this link: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/Subject-7-5-Gambits-13-seconds-Setup/4065588
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
No problem.
Also, currently we have the Festival of the Four Winds going on, and again the 2 areas where this festival is, are instanced, removing even more players from the maps.
If you are having the impressions that the game is deserted, don’t worry because it is far from it, the players are just not well distributed.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Depends on the area.
The thing is many things in PvE are in instances, like dungeons, and the areas where people tend to farm are higher level maps, so while you are leveling you won’t see many people.
Also, many go to WvW, at higher levels and in EotM (Edge of the Mists) for leveling, kind of removing more players from the regular maps.
Look for world bosses in the wiki, you’ll find tons of players doing those, also in July a new update will be added, the maps that update affect will be filled with players for sure.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
No – unless you have GW1 EotN and linked GW1 and GW2 accounts specifically, you do not have access.
“Scornheart sells stones even to players who don’t have their accounts linked, and to players who haven’t played the original Guild Wars. These players can also visit the Hall of Monuments, though will naturally be unable to access any of the rewards.”

I forgot where it’s been stated but Rytlock is her older half brother and that’s why he’s been so tough on her.
It is from an unofficial data mined info, the same that said Marjory died in the Scarlet fight.

I personally think that those traits was planned before the CDI and happened that we touched the same issues, but I’ll hope that those were result from the CDI.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yea, those are the problems with majority vote and democracy. As far as I remember it is considered the most civilized form of human cooperation.
The difference is that in politics, if the people vote “wrong”, the people will pay the consequences while the politicians will remain the same, in game players can take decisions that will make the company lose money.
Also in politics not everything are voted publicly, just a small part, the huge majority of the decisions are made internally, just like we have here, Anet decides internally what to make, and they use the CDI as a form of “election”, by showing some options and getting the feedback of what the players want.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yeah, rangers got the CDI but so far nothing from there was implemented or properly discussed for that matter …
I think another class CDI will only happen after at least the devs list what will be done with rangers, not even need to be implemented, just a list of future changes would be enough.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Not everyone owns EoTN so therefore not everyone has access to the HoM. Sorry.
Actually … everyone HAS access to the HoM, you just need to get the access item from a NPC in LA.
The difference is people that doesn’t have EotN won’t have the pets and the skins available, but the area itself is available.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You can use it to get as many mini as you want … but yeah no much use for it now.
A bank access is a good idea, merchants and crafting stations is a bit too much.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Lore wise interracial love/relationship isn’t common at all, from the top of my head I can think in only 1 example and it was from GW1 (the quest line where a norn fall in love with the player)
About Rox and Braham, I think they have more of a “close friendship” relationship than “feeling” between them.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
And you do realize that all of the updates they did for LS were not what they had originally planned were not permanent and did not change the face of Tyria for very long save for 2 right?
Right, I agree with you.
But you asked for focus in Open World, and the LS always focused there, I’m not saying that those updates was any good or anything (LS1 was ok at best), but the focus was there, you have to agree.
Thus it wasn’t what we were told the updates to the open world would be
I really don’t remember what was promised about open world updates, can you link or just write what the devs originally promised?
About Fractals and Ascended gear, well … MMOs are huge projects, it is impossible to plan everything from the very beginning, I know they planed that exotic would be the “ultimate” tier and they thought that get full exotic gear would be hard and now they released the ascended to cover that hole, that happens.

Think of key run as a lottery ticket run.
You do the run, use the key and you may get an item that is worth 1k gold or a BL ticket that is worth about 80g, but usually you get the equivalent of “Better luck next time”
