:S In that case I don’t see any advantage, it seems tedious and ineffective as long as you have several different characters (a heavy armor set would be only usable for 2 of my eight characters)… that’s why I am asking
I have a Zojja’s set in my ranger, if I ever want to main my thief I’ll be able to change my set to him with only a couple bank visit, currently I would need to craft a 2nd set of asc armor.
I also have sets of asc trinkets I used in an old ranger build, and currently I could use on my ele, currently those asc trinkets are stuck in my ranger inventory, after the update I’ll be able to transfer them to my ele.
Besides all that, I have frostfang on my ranger, now I’ll be able to also use it on my necro and warrior (not only the skin, the weapon itself) .

Daily, Map and BLC provided me with tons of repair kits, so I never broke more than 1 piece.

By Ogden’s hammer! What tips!
Amazing topic, and infographs (I love this format) and the last point is really true, Anet writers improved a lot since the Flame & Frost, but they still have a lot to improve.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yes, from pen & paper RPGs, usually the Game Master made missions where you had to solve puzzles, fight some enemies, then a “boss” type to get a reward was usually in dungeons.
EDIT: Old MMOs like Ultima and Tibia, those quests with a reward in the end guarded by a boss was usually in a dungeon.

That is why I said for “solo PvE” necros are good, because necros doesn’t bring much utilities for others, for dungeons necros are in a bad spot, sure they can be effective, but far from be needed in a dungeon party.
For dungeons thief is needed for some runs, specially for stealth skills for the party, making the run faster and thief have much better power damage, while necros are better at condition damage.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
With thief you may be able to kill elites faster but it is harder since it is a glassy class.
With necro you’ll kill elite mobs slowly but surly.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I think necro would be a good call.
They have a great survivability, for solo PvE and PvP conditions works really well and necros also have access to many AoEs.

This isn’t a “Feedback/Questions” it is kinda like a suggestion/demand topic.
Anyway … cooking 400~500 with some exclusive dyes would be a great idea.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You CAN get T6 from any maps, just not from regular mobs.
In the QD champion train you can get some T6 from the champion boxes, and it is a lvl 1-15 area.
EDIT: Also, what incentive would you have to go to higher lvl areas, if you could farm really easy mobs for the same reward?
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
The problem is that some tasks are tied to things you can’t do again, like PS steps for example, also get the traits back as a lvl 80 will feel more like a grind than an experience.
I suggest make a new toon to check this new feature on its fullest, I’m very tempted to make a new one to have that new in-game experience.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Seriously, the only “flaws” I see to the new system is it may break the ego of some players, but feature-wise it is amazing.
Hey look! The community agrees on something!

:*( Did he specifically say there would be no charge?
It could have been set to 0 during testing phases and I would like to see the video! Anyone have link?
No because when he changed armors the Transmutation cost changed, but for dyes didn’t.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
In the video Anet made showing it, the dev changed the dyes in the new system and the Transmutation cost on the right was “0”.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
It will be free of charge to change only dyes.
BTW, to make a word bold here you need to type " * " instead of “”
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I dont want account wide dyes …
Fixed for you.
I love all those changes, every single aspect of it.
Now I have a reason to unlock expensive dyes like Celestial and Abyss, I’ll be able to dual wield Frostfang on my ranger and in my Warrior if I so desire, I’ll be able to free TONS of bank space from T1~T2 skins and LS skins that I don’t use but I don’t want to delete.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
That was suggested before, people loved the idea and hopefully Anet will implement that someday.
I don’t buy the permanent tools and the Salvage O’Matic just because I have many alts and keep exchanging would take much more time than just buy new gathering tools and salvage kits.

“Soon”
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You could have used this topic: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Feedback-Questions-The-Wardrobe-System
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yeah I can’t wait to dual wield Frostfang on my ranger, and my Necro and Warrior will also be able to have the skin
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Most likely the footsteps will also work.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
A dev answer would be great.
I never deleted t-sones, but since I have 8 lvl 80’s I used those stones like candy on them, haha, but I still have almost a stack.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
No one can answer that for sure, but I believe that we’ll be able to get t-charges from map and dailies after the updates.
Meanwhile, I’ll do some city map completions to get 3 t-stones (= 1 t-charge) guaranteed, while I can.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You are right Zenleto.
Every dye you have now will be unlocked account wide after the patch, in addition to that, if you have the same dye unlocked in several toons, you’ll get a unID dye for every duplicated dye you have.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I still liked having armor be class specific, so no I hate this idea
What part of this suggestion is stopping you from wearing armor that is specific to your class?
I think his problem isn’t preventing him from wearing the armor, is allowing others to wear whatever they want.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
A couple of concerns I have with the feature pack so far are dyes. As I have 2 characters with abyss dye (I have lot’s of other very expensive dyes), and from what I can tell, my other 3 characters will not receive it, and my only compensation will be 1 unidentified dye.
After the update ALL your toons will have the abyss dye unlocked and you’ll get 1 unid dye for each duplicate for each toon, sounds reasonable imo.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
We’ll use transmutation just like we use now, the difference is that we won’t need to destroy one of the gear to have the skin.
If you change the gear then obviously you need to apply the skin again.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Wait…so after this patch I’ll be able to wear heavy looking armor on my Mesmer?
Nope.
He is just suggesting it.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
No one knows for sure. They may add new sources or even remove existing methods, who knows?
I think that city map completion will reward 1 trans charge, since currently it gives 3 trans stone.
Also with direct gold from the wardrobe UI sounds like a plausible possibility.
BLC sounds like a likely way to get them.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
For a start, by removing armor types from the game you allow the designers more freedom to create armor and weapon designs without having to be separated by as many variables because everyone can wear the same thing, they just have to choose weather they want to or not.
Actually it would be the opposite.
You would add a new variable to the designers, this way they would need to check if a new heavy coat doesn’t clip with that new light and medium leg and shoulders, and so on.
I admit that I would love 100% freedom with armor skin, but that would be a mess.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Laurels, gems, cooking, PvP MF recipe will be ways to get dyes.
Apparently you need to equip or salvage an item to unlock the skin, in your case I’m not really sure if the system will unlock the Dawn because you equipped the Sunrise or you just won’t get the Dawn skin at all but have the Sunrise.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
If I have already learned a dye, say Celestial on my Main character, when the patch on April 15th hits, will I now have Celestial colour across all my characters
Yes you will have.
And if you have the same dye on different toons, you gain a unid dye per duplicated dye you unlocked previously.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
After the April update, all toons will have their current traits unlocked (except the new gran-master traits).
EDIT: I mean toons created before the update.

Yes it’s too bad that my having a JOB derails any possibility of me making any TP coin in this game. Thanks ANet.
I’m also at work right now, and I’m sure I earn per hour here than any farm possible in game
But I would love to be at home to flip some dyes >_>
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Of course depending on how they handle the “Mystic Forge and select in-game rewards” means of distributing them.
True, but I think that will only change the how long the price will maintain, the rise of the price in the future is a sure thing, unless a new variable appears.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Why would it get “much higher”?
We got an increase in supply and a decrease in demand… economics say that the price will be lower than what it was.
Because the production will be really low and the supply won’t hold the demand for long.
At start the price will drop a lot, maintain for a while and then start to rise again.
A time ago there was a bug in the game where the dye drop was higher than it should be, in a few days w/o no one knowing that bug the price dropped like a rock, then it was fixed and the drop went down to normal making the price rise back in a couple days, imagine when the drop just stop to exist.
Also, rare dyes will get its prices insanely high.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Even if they are not account bound….
I still don’t understand why everyone is making a mad dash to buy dyes…. do people not realize everyone and their mom will be doing the exact same thing they are… trying to create un-id dyes then sell them… Price is going to drop like a rock patch day when everyone goes to cash in on dyes.
And the smart ones will sell them after a few months when the prices get much higher than it was yesterday.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Only in the original.
The others will only be a skin.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I’m in the opposite side, I have a lot of cheap dyes in my bank from a long time and now I’ll be able to sell/use them for profit
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
1 – You’ll unlock the skin after just equipping it, no need to force it to be soulbound. (salvage also unlock)
2 – Your new sword will have its own skin and if you want to keep the same skin as before you need to consume a transmutation charge to change the new sword.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Oh it is a consumable (I just checked on wiki) … you probably won’t have it and most likely not even be an unlockable skin.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
If you look at the image in the article, the dye change cost 0 transmutations.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
where is it that I can trade my laurels in for dye?
… really?
In the laurel vendor you can use laurels, you can see them in the map where there is a laurel icon …
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Well … the 2nd legendary still have the stat swap ability, so you have what you bought.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Erm – Since Im a newly level 80 I want to know how to make 40g with couple of Laurels
Please enlight me
Buy unidentified dye with laurels, then sell the unidentified dye on TP.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
The OP is talking about GEM STORE skins like the Magitech medium armour… not the in-game stuff.
The previous posts remain correct.
You unlock the skin after you buy the gem gear and after that you can use just like any other skin.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
For my understanding the Twilight and Sunrise skins will be unlocked if you have Eternity.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Exactly.
You’ll still need to spend transmutations to use after the 1st time, but you’ll be able to use as many times as you want w/o the need of destroy the gear or buy the skin again.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
What you did with the skin?
If you deleted, then I’m not sure. If you just used another skin over it then you’ll get it unlocked.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
They are referring to unequiping the weapon, swap won’t remove the stack.
