might be hearsay but aren’t they nerfing the crit damage on celestials? I like knights myself.
They will nerf crit damage in all sets, that nerf is taking a while because Anet is still figuring a way to not nerf the crit damage on celestial more than in the other sets.

The vendor will still be there, but you won’t be able to gain more glory after the update.
They will probably add a new verdor or mechanic to get the Tomes but that we need to wait to see.

The Ranger CDI will be used for future patches, any change they make takes weeks to do, and the CDI is not even finished yet.
I expect the ranger update only after the WvW season, or maybe during it, Anet usually hold balance updates for PvP tournaments, not for WvW.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
PvE/Dungeon is always “zerker or go home”, you shouldn’t have any doubt about this.
For WvW roaming, you can try to get some extra trinkets to boost the survivability with stuff like Valkyrie, Soldier and so on, but keep the zerker armor.
Like Bambula, I got a zerker asc armor for my ranger.

… I feel it is absolutely necessary that people with L80 Ascended and Exotic gear with berserker stats get to choose new stats …
Just a question.
To what stat you would change to?
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You mean the race city or the initial map?
If city: Divinity’s Reach is really well done, Rata Sum would be in 2nd imo.
If map: Caledon Forest is my favorite and Wayfarer is my 2nd.

The mini you can store in the bank, and it is account bound.
The Hero’s Amulet and the Golem Banker you get a new one for every character you make.
The other consumables are 1 time use only.

I’ve barely read 1% of the posts in this thread but how often do people suggest crazy crap like this?
Less than you expect and more than we needed.

I didn’t expressed well … I meant Anet never gave any hint that Tengu will be a playable race any time soon.
It was in their plans, was removed for some reason and after that nothing else as told.
EDIT: It would be just like saying “I played since the beta, left the game, came back and Elona wasn’t released yet, where is it?”

This in my opinion is the best Power Ranger build you can run in PvP currently.
You have:
-High armor
-High HP
-High DPS
-High Condition removal
- Huge amounts of CC
-Lots of Burning
-High MobilityWeaknesses:
-None
Also, your dog pet can hit people for like 2k!
Bold parts are the only wrong things in your post, I agree with the rest
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Anet never gave any hint that Tengu would be a playable race, at best they implied that it wasn’t impossible.
If you are playing just waiting for a rumor made by players to happen … you will have a bad time.
EDIT:
<- Quetzal Tengu on the waiting

It will keep destroyed, nature and wild life will take over and will end becoming the lvl 1~15 map of the Tengus.
LA will be rebuilt with access to guild halls, GvG arenas, and personal housing.
This may be even better

GW2 is more CPU heavy than GPU, the 7790 will handle it fine, I use an HD 7850 and I run all in high/ultra.
I suggest not going with an AMD CPU, GW2 doesn’t work will this those, but AMD GPUs is fine, I don’t have any issues with it.

Just buy a lot of gems, you can’t accidentally spend gems on TP.

Yeah I know, and then they “run away” leaving the other 4 races against the Elder Dragons … and thinking that this coward race is so powerful compared to the other races nowadays.
Seriously @topic: Anet could have thought in name the city as an anagram to Mursaat and also be a word with meaning, there are site that sort a word in a lot of anagrams, then you just pick one.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Dragons in Tyria can talk and are intelligent, Glint and Kuunavang talked to us in GW1.
Elders Dragons on the other hand are more like a power of nature (like an earthquake, tornado, tsunami and so on) than a creature.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Maybe Mursaat is an anagram of Rata Sum and not the opposite
There is also the Rata Pten, if that means anything.

Thanks for any input/experiences.
My 1st post I aimed for your 1st question, the rest of my posts was the “input/experience” part, haha

It doesn’t cost them anything and they must have the ability to “overwrite” the skin so you are still left with just one.
I’m sounding like a prick but … yeah it would cost them.
The time the employ will take to read your ticket, then contact you, then check your items and change the choice you made will consume a time that they could be using to attend another person with a real problem, and that time wasted cost money.
Check the “account issues” sub forum, there are A LOT of tickets pending there, and that is just a really small percentage of tickets they have.

Not possible to get more Fragments, so if you need space you can throw all away.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Depends a lot of your build.
A bunker warrior or guardian could benefit from it, a DPS guardian like yours will only reduce the damage, crit rate and damage and won’t rise your survivability that much.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I’m almost sure that Anet will not change your reward, and if they end changing it, it will open a precedent to other players do the same.
There are a couple check boxes you need to click to confirm the reward and you accepted all them.
You should have thought before getting it, like I got a focus skin from the AP chests but later I saw that I had a better skin in my bank and I would love to change it for a bow or sword skin, but I know that it was an error of my part and I never thought in asking the devs to change it for me.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I also have problems with that site, usually I need to refresh the page many times until it works, but it always end working.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yup, what Bran said, I pointed what the devs think of the rangers and what they think we should be in game, I’m FAR from agreeing with that line of thinking.
Other think that was stated is that the devs are afraid of power creep, and in the future the burst of the other classes will be tuned down.
I seems to me that ranger damage will barely have any improvement in the future, we’ll have to wait until all the other classes get nerfed to be on par with the “meta”.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
For now you gain glory from each PvP match and there is a vendor NPC that trade glory for items and one of those is Tome of Knowledge, it gives 1 level automatically, get 79 of those and you get to lvl 80 without leaving the Heart of the Mists.
But devs stated that glory will be removed, so this won’t be available for long.

Wait there are three games? isnt this one Guild wars 2?
3 Guild Wars games: Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall + 1 expansion Eye of the North.
He counts as separated games because you can play any of them without the other.

As stated in the CDI topic, rangers aren’t supposed to burst damage, we are supposed to do sustained damage with survivability, oh and we are the pet class.

I also tried to play with sword, but I just can’t.
If you attack w/o a target locked and there is more than 1 enemy around, you start to fly around like crazy, when you target there is the root issue …
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
same, the only content in the entire game that I couldn’t solo with heroes were the ‘elite’ dungeons that have a party size of 12.
Actually you can solo with heroes if you are really good.
The Luxon one you can flag heroes and summon spirits to press the buttons on the floor to open the gate.
In the Kurzick dungeon where you needed a shadowstep/teleport skill was changed so now you can walk up to there.
GW1 you can solo 100% of the game, some dungeons / elite areas can be really hard but soloable for sure.
In my opinion, heroes was a bit better than an average player.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
50/50 Will take you about a year for sure, if you grind your way only thinking in HoM points.
30/50 is much easier and won’t take you more than a few months even if you play a bit casually.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
If each of these classes lost the ability to use their Class mechanic, here are the estimated results:
- Class mechanic/F1-F4 not used in all aspects of the game per class(% decreased)
- Engineer 30%
- Gaurdian 20%
- Warrior 35%
- Elementalist 65%
- Mesmer 25%
- Thief 40%
- Necro 20%
- Ranger 30%
I kinda agree with the numbers.
The problem is, from that list, ranger is the only class where the mechanic can die/be disabled.
Can you disable the warrior adrenaline? Can you disable mesmer shatters? Can you disable necro DS? Can you disable thief steal / iniciative?
In a high damage environment it is easy to have both pets dead, in that case our class mechanic is disabled for 1 minute, if you dodge a mesmer phanton then block its shatter the mesmer mechanic will be totally disabled for 1 minute?
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You can go to the cultural armor NPC and click in preview, that way you’ll see it by yourself and even better, in your toon. You can also preview dyes from TP at the same time, to check if it will fit.

I totally forgot about that, about the SoS killing the females.
BTW, Jelle’s idea sounds plausible.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Now we have a better base to discussion, this is my initial feedback from Allie’s summary.
PvX
General:
- Remove spirits. They clutter up the map and provide less strategic value with target changes.
- Instead, apply an aura to the pet that does the same thing spirits currently do.
- Obviously, this would be a huge rework and would require changes to spirit traits.
Ideas to adapt the current traits related to spirits to the aura system:
- Spirits Unbound: untraited the spirit auras would be applied in the pet, traited it would be applied on the player.
- Vigorous Spirits: auras should be timed instead of have HP, that way the trait would increase the time the aura would last and the chance to trigger as currently is.
- Nature’s Vengeance: would keep the same but trigger the skill when the aura timer ends.
Beastmastery & Pets:
- Pets need stat scaling.
- Stats could scale based on the Ranger’s stats and the pet’s family, with a weight on specific stats based on the individual pet
- Beastmastery should improve the pet stat scaling.
What I think that could be made is, reduce the base stats of the pets but maintaining the proportions of each pet family, and then a certain percentage of the status of the player would go to the pet, and each Beastmaster trait point would rise that percentage.
That way it would balance the case of bunker cond builds have pets with high raw power but the other way around doesn’t benefit that much from the pet.
- Pets should take less damage from AoE and one-shot mechanics.
- Pets should take 30% damage from AoEs, be immune to one shot mechanics and take 25% damage from cleaves when not the selected target.
- Pets can’t keep up in combat.
- Melee range should be increased to 600 to accommodate the “run>stop>begin attack>cancel attack>run>stop” type mechanics you see throughout the game.
- Increase pet movement speed by 10-15%. Replace Agility Training with Vigorous training
- Pets have a hard time sticking to their target because they can’t attack and move at the same time. Increasing their speed could help increase their damage by just allowing them to keep up with their target.
- Allow pets to attack while moving.
Some are great, some aren’t needed, would make pets kinda OP.
- The cleave damage could keep as is now
- The AoE damage reduction would be good or give pets aegis for 1 second when the player dodge, have both would be too much.
- Rising the pet melee range or add a pounce to the melee attacks would discard the need of rising the pet move speed.

Maybe Drakkar or Jormag didn’t like female norn as minions, if you notice only male norn become corrupted, so the effect of the corruption on female was to lose the bound with the spirits.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Can someone explain how Path Of Scars can hit 3 times ?
I wasn’t aware of this hidden ranger secret :>
When the axe go, it hits once.
When the axe come it hits twice, 1st hit push the target to you and interrupt the target, 2nd end happening because the target got closer to you faster than the axe and it hits again, but all that happens very quickly.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Are you starting from zero?
If so, be sure that will be a project for over a year of grind.
I reached 45/50 in about 1 year because a guild mate gave me an obsidian armor (equivalent to an ascended armor in GW2), that alone saved me a couple months of focused grind, get the last 5 points would be way too much grind for my standards.
I suggest aiming for 30/50, that point will unlock all the HoM items and is WAY easier to achieve, from zero I got to 30/50 in about 400 hours with barely any help, and I wasn’t in any hurry.

Really? That is the chosen answer?
… anyway, if you mean GW2 Peter, he may appear in different points, when I found him, he was near the Lighthouse, a bit to the west from where the Red Knight appear.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I don’t think it makes it inconsistent. We’re the ‘Pact Commander’ and the ‘Hero of Shaemoor’ as well. In an MMO certain areas of a game are permanently frozen in time. The dungeons are one such example.
We are not “the” Pact Commander, we are “a” Pact Commander, that is why Trahearne is “the” General and not us.
‘Hero of Shaemoor’ is the same thing, there is a big chance that in your Personal Story you saw another player with you killing the Earth Elemental and he is also one more ‘Hero of Shaemoor’.
In GW1 you could run from AC to the Crystal Desert. Doing this fast forwarding through time and lore breaking as the dialogue at each location assumes a certain portion of the story complete.
At least in GW1 a message appeared telling that: “Events you see here happened in the past”, or something close to that.
I know that MMOs have that problem, but they could try to avoid those situations, in the Scarlet case, if the player had a fight with her and then Kasmeer finished her, it would be all fine, all the players could be there helping and in the future anyone could say “Kasmeer gave the final blow on Scarlet” making the story 100% plausible.
EDIT: Most players will like this ending, but the more “hardcore” lore players won’t be truly satisfied.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
(edited by Belzebu.3912)
In other forum I wrote before update that “I would hate if in the final battle against Scarlet, the player would be the one that kills her in an instanced area”, well … it happened just like the way I didn’t want.
Now all players that saw that cut-scene is THE slayer of Scarlet, that makes the story inconsistent, in the future how they will tell who killed Scarlet?
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Basically it will keep the same thing, Ferocity will work for crit damage just like Precision work for crit rate.
Right now at lvl 80, 21 Precision = 1% crit rate, after the update lets say 15 Ferocity will be equal to 1% crit damage.
What Anet is balancing is that if you have full zerker gear your amount of Ferocity will be equivalent to 10% less crit damage than we have now, so if you have lower amount of zerker pieces in your build that proportion will be lower, so the “nerf” will be a lower number.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Nope.
