I went to Tixx the first day that he was in LA and looted his chest. The next day (same character if that matters) I got mail from Tixx with almost the exact same items attached. I was confused but didn’t argue.

Just took this one last night. First time on this quests and it made me smile.

The second one is currently my background for the season.

Start by reading the following and see if it helps any. It’s a great way to get some direction when starting the game without a clue of what’s going on.

Or just the fact that the game is already using it could be the issue. I highly doubt that it’s because of copyright issues.

There are people that show you where the quest givers are…they are Scouts. They will point you to the Renown Quests (Hearts) for a particular area. When you get close to the heart npc the quest will automatically show in your quest tracker and the game will keep track of your progress even if you log off or leave the area. When you complete the quest you don’t have to return for your reward (check your mail) but the heart npc will become a merchant so if you are the correct level range it might be worth returning to them to see if they have anything good to sell you.

Is it safe to assume that you’re trying this with green or higher items? I believe that the item must already have an upgrade applied for any salvage kit to have a chance at getting it out. The kits won’t give upgrade items if the upgrade slot is empty.

I’ve tried cartographers plus 4 others and quickly settled with the one from MMORPG Life as linked by Rustypipes. I hadn’t seen the Game Maps one so I bookmarked it for future reference. Other than that there really isn’t much else out there worth considering.

Guesting has been discussed but we just don’t know when it might be implemented. Unfortunately, that only leaves the transfer options but at least they’re free.

1. What are your future plans for the UI? Is there any possibility of unofficially allowing non-game changing UI mods (such as the ability to shrink individual elements as opposed to the entire UI) and if not please express that the UI will in the least not become completely officially neglected forever.

I can only state my personal preferences as I can’t begin to claim to know enough to tell which one is best. However, after trying out 7 different editors when I reached 80 a couple weeks ago I found that Into The Mist was the best with GW2 Skills coming in second. The rest were too outdated or too basic for my liking.

Can’t say about the iphone as I don’t own one.

I’ve gotten 3 accounts setup on TC and I found that the best practice is to continually log out and back in to refresh the list. If you just back out of the list and come back it may show a different order of servers but the status for each is the same. Logging out is the only way that I’ve found to be reliable in this regard.

Having said that…my first account was around 8pm EST…2nd around 11pm EST…3rd around 3am EST.

Not sure if any of that helps but there you go.

Oh, and none of my accounts took longer than 20-30 minutes for a spot to open up. The first was within 5 minutes, the second within 15, and the third within 30.

Out of curiosity…how does playing nearly 8-10 hours per day since release make you a casual? Most definitions of casual MMO players would fall around the 200 hour mark at this point…not over 1,000.

If you are new to the genre then neither of those question will have any relevance to your personal experience. Seriously, pick a class that sounds interesting and play that to level 10 or so then repeat with another class (you have 5 slots available). Eventually you’ll know which one fits your play style the best.

Outside of that I really can’t comment on the “so on…” bit as I have no clue what you are referring to.

I think that the Crack Shot trait from the Arms line (level 20 #7) is a lot of fun. It has completely changed my style of play as it has added new depth to my characters strategy. Sure, that might be an exception but at least one of us has found at least one trait to be fun.

Same happened to me last night. I accepted an invite only to find out that they were already half finished (not really a problem per say). The real issue is that the leader ran to the chest and then left so that no one else got anything.

This should be looked into.

Thing is that with the current system you can choose to do it twice in one day (but not everyday like that) but your proposed system would have potential to force players not to complete the daily on certain days (as explained above).

Choice is better than force.

No…it doesn’t.

If you complete it before 5pm then that would be in one server period while completing it after 5pm would be in a second server period. If you happen to do this then the next day you couldn’t complete it again until after 5pm.

Don’t look at it as before and after…look at it as always before. Before 5pm regardless of what day you do it. If you complete it by then you will be able to work on it again and complete it early for the next day if you like.

Your concept is flawed because people from different time zones play in all of the servers.

I actually rescind my statement from before, because it wouldn’t solve the problem, but having people that play in different timezones in the same server doesn’t affect this at all. It needs a timer.

Yes it does make a difference and Yes it does have a timer…Every 24 hours GMT

All servers reset at that time regardless of your time zone but according to your time zone is when you’ll personally see the reset occur. So, if you are EST then you are GMT -5 (-6 for EDT) so it would reset at 8pm during the summer and 7pm during the winter.

And to the person that said that the UK is in the center of the world because it’s on the map that way…well, uh, NO.

EDIT: I’m not saying that this is the best system but that’s how it works. Personally, I’d like us all to have personal timers that reset according to our own schedules but that’s just impossible for an MMO to achieve in all fairness. This really is the easiest system for an MMO company to manage properly…everyone can complete the dailies once within their respective 24 hour period in regards to their own time zones.

The game is only 3 months old…no offense but GW1 wasn’t all that great at 3 months either. At least IMHO.

The addon became popular in large due to Reddit. If someone got banned, then multiple people would have gotten banned – it would be on Reddit. Not to mention that threads about mods or Combat Mode would be much more aggressively closed/deleted if they were mass banning Combat Mode users.

Spyder, policies do change. Gaile’s addon policy wasn’t put up on release, it was put up post-release. Around the time combat mode started becoming somewhat popular. Coincidence? You decide.

This sounds more like it. Key word being “known” as there’s just no way for you to know whether or not I’ve ever been banned for such things…or anyone else for that matter. You can certain entertain an educated guess (using Reddit and forum moderation in your case) but that’s all it is…an educated guess…not fact.

The only fact in this thread is that know one here can tell anyone else with any certainty that they will or won’t get banned for something. That’s between them and Anet so if someone wants to test their luck, more power to them.

That specific reference is in regards to if something bad happens to your computer or bank account. The link also states that you can be banned for using certain mods. It covers both bases.

Agreed Aiobhan and thanks for the amended statement. My only concern was that when people start to speak for everyone or belittle other’s questions for whatever reason then things have usually gotten out of hand…and in this case over a video game. Just no need for it. We can all state our opinions and ask our questions. We all have concerns. It was more of a friendly reminder that while it’s good to bond together it’s equally bad to tear us apart. A little perspective can go a long way.

Understandable Vince but please try to remember that what is important to you as a gamer might not be all that important to another gamer.
