Once again you’re asking a bunch of questions that you could easily find the answers to much quicker by using the Wiki…
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Heart_of_the_Mists
How are you level 80 with full AC armor and not know half the stuff that you ask about is beyond me but hey…best of luck. Hopefully you’ll learn how to use the Wiki so that you can start helping others instead of always asking such basic questions.
Read the Bug entry down towards the bottom in the World Completion Notes section and see if it helps with your particular situation.
theres one that often needs redoing, was it the hall of monuments one?
FYI: The HoM POI doesn’t count towards Map Completion.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pot_of_Hylek_Poison
FWIW: You could have found that quicker than waiting for a reply. The Wiki is always a good first step to make before posting a question.
Your official response has already been given…no need for the devs to chime in yet again. Read the ToS / EULA and you will find that it basically says “One Click = One Action” so yes, your One Click = Three Actions would get you banned.
Also, I don’t think that I fully understand your reasoning behind not using the auto-attack in game. Could you explain please?
It’s really sad that this thread has continued on so long when there is absolutely nothing positive or constructive about it. It’s just a bunch of people making fun of others based on a difference of opinion. Nothing more. Nothing good will ever come from this thread other than some laughs for a few and some moans for others.
What’s even worse is that I had to listen to this ridiculous debate in LA map chat yesterday, which of course turned ugly rather quickly. It’s always a shame to see crap like this on the boards but to then have to deal with the same crap in game is just saddening. Very saddening.
I’m not sure I understand your frustration. Perhaps the fact that a similar topic showed up in map chat shows that it’s on the minds of some players. One of the great thing about the forums is that you don’t have to read every topic on the page. So, if this particular one doesn’t interest you, read something else.
I agree there is an abnormal amount of trolling being allowed to exist in this thread, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a legitimate discussion going on here amongst people who actually have a real interest in it.
Threads don’t need to be locked down just because they fail to interest you. Unfortunately, I think much trolling occurs specifically to get discussions shut down, and all too often forum mods fall for it rather than taking the time to clean out the thread.
Nope. The map chat was just as useless as this thread. Please explain to me what exactly would constitute as a legitimate discussion within this thread because I don’t see it. And please don’t tell me not to read a specific thread…read this one and you’ll see that it did interest me back when the discussion was legit. Now it’s just a bunch of trolling left and right (from both sides). Nothing productive here at all.

I haven’t done it since this patch. But if you make the same choices; at the end you should all receive a prompt to choose completion.
When you share a personal story quest only the leader chooses the answers. At the end of the quest the non-leaders will be asked if they accept the leaders choices. If so then you can progress your story as well. If not then you’re given the opportunity to repeat the quest until you are satisfied.
None of us has seen a user interface pop-up asking us this, and we were all at the same level and on the same task. When (during or after completion) is the UI supposed to popup and ask other players?
Once the rewards are presented to the leader at the very end of the quest is when the popup appears. If it’s not showing then there’s either a discrepancy among your quest stages or a bug. Double check the former and report the latter.
We understand. You have it in your head that in order for you to have fun playing the way that you want to play then the way you want to play shouldn’t drag you down. Yet, it does.
The problem with this is that it’s your way to play. Not the games. Not mine. But yours. Either adapt or don’t…your choice. If you continue to choose to play in a manner that ultimately doesn’t satisfy you via GW2 then maybe this just isn’t your game. Obviously, you’d prefer to change the game to fit your desired playstyle. That’s understandable as well…there’s a suggestion forum for just that sort of thing.
However, the game used to fit my playstyle until the infamous november 15th patch where a good portion of the community viewed it as a shift in their design philosophy. Now, with dailys rewarding something measurable, something to spend..you need to have it! Must do those dailys!
I’m sorry for your loss as that is how you see it. I just don’t share your outlook. Best of luck to you though and I truly hope that you find what you’re looking for wherever it may be.
“Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.”

It’s not reachable for me either any more.
I’m using Google’s Public DNS (8.8.8.8; 8.8.4.4). I wonder where the break down is?
I’d go post on their site for assistance, but…well…
Anyone know these (fellas/gals/blokes/hooligans) that could float them a wiggle (who talks like that?) and see if they don’t have the bandwidth to research why some of us see them and some of us don’t?
I don’t think that anyone can see the armor gallery any longer. It’s down for good it looks like. Check out the new site posted above though…it’s really nice.
Every time that I’ve shared a personal story with my friends those who were not the leader were prompted at the end of the quest as to whether or not they wanted it to count towards their own personal story progression. I’ve shared a lot of personal story quests over the past 5 months so unless it’s broken or has been changed most recently…not sure what else to say.
They built the wiki into the game to work as the “detailed” option you speak of. Just type /wiki <search term> and it will automatically minimize the game and bring up the wiki for you with the more detailed info you seek. That way everyone wins and they don’t have to code a bunch of extra info into the game.
EDIT: That’s not to say that I wouldn’t like to see more detailed tooltips. That’s just to say why they don’t feel they need to spend resources on such things.
I used to hold 2 subs (one for myself and one for my significant other) to 3 different MMOs (Rift, Fallen Earth and Secret World) <—- most recent trio but not the first over the past 12+ years.
Sooooo…It’s not so much that I love GW2 but rather my bank account loves GW2. It allows me to get my MMO fix without spending a dime over the purchase price. Can’t complain about that!
Would GW2 be my first MMO of choice if money wasn’t a concern? No. But all things considered it certainly deserves my attention.
Yes, the 4 on Claw Island count towards map completion.
The 2 newest waypoints are…
NW corner of Brisban Wildlands
SW corner of Plains of Ashford
Here’s a chart for you to use to make sure that you’re completely covered…
@ BioFringe
Thanks for the input; but I don’t think it really matters given the location that I picked hasn’t changed since launch…
Sure, for that one specific location. I’m just giving you a heads up for future reference.
And just for the sake of argument here are some quick stats on how far off Cartographers is…
Divinity’s Reach (-1 WP, +3 POI)
Lion’s Arch (+2 POI, +6 Vistas) <— Cart shows 6 Vistas that don’t exist!
Harathi Hinterlands (+5WP, +5POI, +3 Skills, +2 Vistas)
That’s just 3 locations and you can already see that Cart shows way more stuff that doesn’t even exist and is even missing stuff that does exist. I used to love this site but it’s not that it’s a bad site, just that it hasn’t been updated in over 5 months now. Really wish it would have been kept up.
EDIT: Also note that I simply pointed the discrepancies out and suggested another mapping site since a lot of folks that come to this part of the board might see others using Cartographers and think that it’s the one to use. Just saying. Peace.

At first I was like “you can already do that” but then I re-read and better understood what you were referring to. Well done. I won’t use this personally because I like the zoom on the wheel way too much but for those that don’t, this would be perfect for them.
If anyone is concerned with this program…don’t be. I’ve been using it since it first came out like a decade ago and use it with the utmost of confidence. It’s easy to use, low profile and efficient.
Never too late if that’s what you want to do. I’d stick with my friends and help my server get better. Having said that, the only reason you’re getting beat so bad by TC right now is because we just came from T2 down to T3 so we’re kinda wanting to get back up the ladder. Your server really isn’t all that bad when you look at the numbers though.
I’m sure nobody would intentionally kill somebody’s beloved pet, which is what you’re implying
If only that where true.
I deal with a number of rabbit rescues around the world, what I have seen tells a far different story. And almost none of them, if any, are connected in any way to gw2.
And your point? I will not kill the in game rabbits. If you have a problem with that, it’s YOUR problem. You can play anyway you want. I don’t know you, don’t play with you, so who cares? I will play the way I want (which is not at all currently) and it’s actually rather odd that you seem to care so much how I play? I wonder, can you explain how a complete stranger not wanted to kill an animated animal that I see as a pet in an online game effects you in any way, shape or form?
I think the point is…why are you till posting here and of all things on this subject?
Not to get off topic now, but since I stopped playing, I am no longer allowed to read or post in the forums? You can’t answer my question, so you try to take it off topic? Get lost troll.
Sigh! I wasn’t trolling. I was asking you an honest question but since you can’t answer any other way than defensively. Goodbye.

This is where you want to be…

Trust me.
Well if there was a reasonable substitute item, then how would those people who invested all that time working for it feel? I find the current system fair.
You will still have the privilege to own the original item, which you can still say “you may have that but I still have this”. It’s the same as wanting a Ferrari, but you can afford a Porsche. You will still have a super-car but the guy with the Ferrari is still going to have a Ferrari.
Wait…What?
You might want to stop while you’re behind.
The principle is that people that do not have either the time or the desire to get a specific “special” item should be able to have a satisfying replacement. If you really want a SPECIFIC item then invest whatever you want into it, but to have a unique item that cannot be accessed in any other way is not fair to people that do not like or did not play GW1 but instead love GW2
The problem is that you’re chasing your own tail. For example: Specific & Unique are Synonyms.
I want to say more but I feel as if I shouldn’t have to. Either that or it just won’t matter anyways. I wish you nothing but the best. Peace.
EDIT: And if all you want is a Heavy Mask via other means then make a suggestion for such a thing in the suggestions subforum…that’s about all you can do if you don’t want to go through the hoop that currently exists for such an item.

And there is where the “reasonable substitute item” comes in. If I want a SPECIFIC item then yes, I should work for it and spend money and a lot of time on it. If I simply do NOT have the time to play a 2nd game for a specific item, I should be able to find a reasonable substitute that will satisfy my needs.
You contradicted yourself.
The issue is that they are one of a kind items (some of them). I do not mind the Fiery sword that much as there is Jormag’s breath for GW2 players – a perfect substitute. The Mask however, is one of a kind and is only available through Halls of Monuments. You cannot get a Heavy-armored mask or anything remotely close to it if you haven’t played GW1. That’s my issue with it. I am not saying that the exact same thing should be available, but a satisfying substitute.
Again, there are plenty examples of exclusive items in the game already that are gated to other methods of acquisition. This is no different other than there’s something that you want. Like everyone else, you have just as much potential to achieve these items if you so desire.
The thing is that they make you buy an entirely different game to do so. Money is one thing – if you want it, you pay for it (Like League of Legends). The problem I have is that in order to get them not only do I have to pay for it, but I have to spend time (Like a previous comment even said years) in order to get everything I want in an entirely different game. That’s the problem I have with it.
Which is exactly what everyone else has to do if they want those items as well. This was a system that was announced 3 years ago. It’s a bit too late to argue that it’s the wrong system to have implemented. I highly doubt that you’ll see any changes anytime soon.

Even if they were new to the Hall what exactly would be the problem? They are gated items just like any other items in the game. If you want x you must do y. Nothing really new with that system and since new items are added to other gated categories, why not with this one?
The following location has 5 to 6 veterans right in one small area in PvE.
They can all be killed in about 5 minutes total; shouldn’t be longer than that.
You should really consider changing which mapping site you use…like to one that has been updated this year. I like the following as it is always updated the day of a patch but there are others out there…
The coordinator really isn’t going to offer you much. Read the following and see if it helps…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Log-in-issues/first
They have also stated in multiple threads that they are aware of the issue…check the Dev Tracker.
We’re on part 2 now and part 1 is still accessible. From the patch notes…
All content from “Flame and Frost: Prelude” continues, and the Refugee Volunteer achievement can still be earned.
FWIW: I’m on TC and I love all the guests. Please don’t let other TC residence convince you that you’re not welcome on our server. I believe that Fractals caused the overflow issue in LA and I believe that the new loot system has caused the overflows at events. I don’t believe that guesting is a problem.
i think a guest should have to be invited. Otherwise they aren’t really guests, they’re crashers.
I’ve seen this suggestion thrown out there several times by several posters now and I have to ask…How exactly would this stop anything? Isn’t it rather easy to add people to your friends list to circumvent this restriction? What about cross-server guilds?
I know that I could be added to a lot of friends list on a lot of different servers just by asking in guild chat.
(edited by BioFringe.7945)
1.) what made you choose and stay on the server you’re on?(guilds and friends aren’t a valid reason since transfers were free for four months) RP
2.) what will it take for the wvw players to get you into wvw? What have you got?
3.) wvw benefits your dungeon runs, do you not agree that helping us get the buffs you benefit from is the right thing to do? I don’t run dungeons so why should I care about this benefit?
4.)is it the repair bill that scares you out?(i know pve players with upwards of 200g, so the fact that they’re scared of a 10s repair bill is confusing) Nope
5.) why would a risen priestess of milandru be impressed with your Sunrise? Shouldn’t
BTW: Your thread is very arrogant.

Awesome!
This is the sort of shameless self-promotion that I can get behind. Thanks so much for this.
I’m not sure if I understand your question, but I’ll do my best to respond!
So the way I think about the organization of this social group is that Operation: Union is the set of people (who are not necessarily members of the guild The Legion of Honour [XIII]) that believe in what Glitch initially put forth: being part of a welcoming community. The Legion of Honour [XIII] is the guild that has grown out of this group. [XIII] is a multi-server guild, which means that each server has separate Influence earned, separate banks, and separated guild upgrades. For Tarnished Coast (my server), that means we have a large guild bank and other guild buffs up pretty often and are working towards those Guild Missions, but on Ferguson’s Crossing (another active server), they are working on their own projects. We do, however, all share the same guild chat channel, same in-game guild roster, same guild website, and same ideals on how to treat other players.
Yes, we know this is not the most efficient way to leverage the IP earning potential of a bunch of people, but we are happy with this and do not want to all move to one server. We enjoy the ability to explore PvE content with members from other servers in the same region and love the community that has grown out of Glitch’s ideas and his and others’ leadership.
Since we are separated by different servers, those of us on TC won’t ever be able to WvW on the same team as those on FC. That creates an interesting scenario that if two servers with enough [XIII] presence were to claim, say, supply camps, you could have a red [XIII] supply camp and green [XIII] supply camp. So really, all you need to do to get CD’s [XIII] members into WvW is to drag them in there, represent [XIII] and start playing. Then you can work on the Art of War improvements for the CD chapter of the Legion of Honor.
So, if you would like to head up leadership of the CD chapter of [XIII] and focus on building that to be a WvW force for CD, that would be great! I don’t have the ability to appoint you “keeper of the CD Influence” or “leader of the CD chapter” – but others can, and we always welcome more interested more folks!
I know I’m likely speaking out of turn here, but as a separate idea, if you wanted to keep your CD-based guild [RIOT] and just join in on our discussions here and possibly on the [XIII] website, the leadership may be happy to consider a sort of alliance.
I don’t think I can summarize all that in a tldr sentence, but I hope I helped answer your question! PM me here or whisper me in game and I can tell you more about the structure of [XIII].
Sounds like a Biker Gang
Excellent synopsis.
I would recommend staying away from builds that are posted on build sites since the majority of those are just people messing around. I’ve looked at nearly all of the builds posted and only a handful of them could teach me anything. I wouldn’t suggest spending the amount of time it took me to realize the same.
You’re much better off sticking to the official profession sub-forums and using sites like the Wiki for specific info.
As far as build calculators go, here is the one that I’ve been using without any issues since near release…
This one just came onto the market about 1 month ago and I’m very interested in trying it since it’s the only one set up for PvE gear…
http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/
The following were all up-to-date for the most part prior to the Feb 28th patch but I can’t speak as to whether or not they’ve been updated since. I only used them enough to know that the first one that I linked was better but that’s just my opinion…
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/
http://www.gw2db.com/skills/calc
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc
Hope that helps.
EDIT: There are at least 3 others that I didn’t even bother to link as they’re just not worth it. Having said that, there’s always a chance that I missed 1 or 2 so if someone comes across one that I didn’t link and feels that it’s worthy then please post so that I can check it out.

This is the best that I’ve found so far (7th post in has the best list)…

See if either of these help…
I may be mistaken on this whole issue but this is what came to mind…try to transmute the white mask to a blue that has an empty upgrade slot available. Then the blue mask to the exotic. That’s how I’ve always understood it to work but then again, like I said, I might be mistaken.
Grandara & Desolation are your two unofficial UK servers.
My point was that all EU servers are based at the same location (as far as I’m aware) and the FR, SP, DE just indicate the majority language of the server. Therefore, all EU servers are UK except for those. If you need to get more in-depth then see my statement above.
Any server in the EU region not listed under FR, SP, or DE are UK servers.
Try: Gandara or Desolation
So just to get this straight…
Everyone with 1 character has to pretty much do the same amount of work if they want to equip that 1 character to its fullest.
Someone with 4 characters has to do 4x the work and there’s supposed to be something wrong with this?
I’d love to only have to pay for 1 oil change as opposed to 1 for each of my cars. That would be wonderful. Let’s apply this logic to everything else in life and then everyone will be equal and happy.
No, it’s not the amount of the work, it’s the time-gating factor. If I played 12 hours a day and you played 1 hour a day, we would both gear one toon equally assuming we did daily and monthly. The extra 11 hours a day I would play don’t help me get ascended earrings or ammy for my other 3 toons.
In your situation, it would be like saying you can only get 1 oil change every 2 months. That might be fine if you have 1 car, but if you drive all 4 equally, you shouldn’t have to go 6 months without an oil change.
I suppose that my example might not have been the best so it should be elaborated upon (according to how I see it)…
It’s more like being told by your favorite oil change company that they will only do 1 of your cars every 2 months. There’s still other oil changing companies out there that will still do your other cars for you. Sure, they might not be the best at what they do but in the end…it’s just an oil change.
So the choice is ours to make…Wait for your turn at your favorite oil change spot or go with the alternatives.
Having said that, chances are that this will all be moot once they implement more ways to get what you are looking for. It will take some time and patience. Until then, have fun.

Thank you for the responses. I ended up getting called away right after the post and didn’t get home until there was about 1 hour left til reset. O’well. I spoke with a guildie and they’re going to help me learn the dungeons so that next time this happens it won’t be something that gets pushed off until the last minute.
Thanks again.
it can be any tier as long as the level armor it makes ends in a 5 essentially ( should go without saying ) .
Not sure where the “ends in a 5” comes from. Only some do so…some end in a 0 (like all the level 50 & 80 Masterwork items).
Here’s a complete list of all the MW items (as far as I know)…
