Maybe I’m the odd ball out, but what happened to teamwork and coordination with ally’s. It seams to me most of the threads regarding this are based as a solo 1v1 perspective. Being weak to Condi just makes me want to grab a friend or 4 that can assist me in that area. I thought the purpose of a MMORPG is to play with other people?

Gonna insta level to 30, then 50 tome it. Have full bags, ascended gear and otherwise ready to go currently.

First priority when HOT comes out is to unlock Pact Commander. I know HOT is the big deal, but auto loot? Get the !@#$ out. This is priority #1 and I’ll spend my time working on XP in Tyria working up mastery XP there any way I can (world completion, events, whatever) with +50% boosters and +100% boosters all saved up and ready to go.

After that, whatever. WvW, HOT, etc all good.

I don’t understand everyones admiration for the pact commander line, it seems nice if you plan to help other players, but i really do not understand where the fandom for the auto loot is coming from, is pushing F every now and then (if you haven’t rebound it) really that hard? I imagine if i had Auto loot, i’d still be smacking F out of habit.

But for me, it’s boosting to 80, getting any excess hero points if needed, then going straight for the new HoT content.

You must not play WvW in large group fights.

I would prefer if you used Unyielding Anguish as a down skill 2 action. Even if it only ported 5 opponents away once, simular to the way Guardian down state 2 skill works.

GW2 OCX/SEA WvW Meeting

I expect T3 to be the way you guys go if you do shuffle around, But hope you would also consider T4. Id love to have a few more people around to play with during my normal play times.

That’s the thing I’m not sure of, we want a tier that is stable where the servers don’t change every week. Otherwise we will get gates one week then fights another. I’d like fights every week

Well were not as “Stable” as T1, but we have been stable for the last month. HoD has bit of OCX/SEA, and NSP does have a few players, Recruitment from those 2 pools would be a possibility for any of those guilds looking to expand some. Ebay… They would need a little more help than the other 2 to keep things balanced. I don’t see any of the 3 pushing to move up or wanting to move down at all. If anything a few guilds to balance out the OCX/SEA would help keep things very stable.

I can’t even play GW2 any more… I log in for daily stuff, try to play for a hour or two on the weekends, but the game just feels stale….. So ready for another beta weekend so I can pull out my Beta Revenant and have a good time again. The class itself has renewed my enjoyment of the game. Sure Ill explore the new area’s, but I’m mostly looking forward to going into WvW with a new class and having a good time. I also look forward to going back to some of the old area’s, dungeons, bosses, random farm area’s and experiencing the game in a whole new way. Hell I might even take up doing Fractals (I hate fractals)….

Since so many are asking for condi cleanse I’m sure it will be considered. Shiro+Glint has none.

Revenant as a whole is designed to not have much condition cleanse. That’s not to say there won’t be any tweaks for removal, but it won’t be any large changes. can’t have everything.

I can accept that. Mainly because I prefer group play vs solo play. Groups working together can do so much more.

Glad to see almost all of these changes, I am concerned that I might have to dumb down my build and get travelers runes again though Being slow in a roam/havoc group is never a good thing.

If you run Glint you get an infinite swiftness with if I remember correctly a -1 Upkeep cost so you shouldn’t need those traveler runes.

But if you run Glint you cant run Shiro/Malyx. Will do some theory crafting though and see what possibilities are available.

Congrats on finally figuring out what T2 wanted from the beginning, how many months later? None of us wanted anything to do with that “silly siege stuff.” Too bad YB had to destroy the tier before figuring it out. And golem week was only fun for you because YB had what….like 3 bank tabs full of golems to use? I barely played because it was pointless. Most of us didn’t want to see another golem for weeks after that one ended. My guild spent more time training in PvP and GvGing than raiding. Course that’s gone now since the GvGs have been driven from the tier too. Thanks for that one as well YB.

No siege will only be “fun” for the server winning. FA might come out to play more since they won’t get pelted with ACs from every angle. SoS right now can barely hang on to any territory at all against the kittened YB blobs thanks to months of being locked out of recruiting. Take away the siege and you might as well waypoint our entire BL. You try to anyway.

hahahahahahah, now you know how NSP felt when FA and SoS kept rolling T3. Demoralizing isn’kitten

Looking forward to see what changes you have in mind! I really had a blast this last weekend. I felt completely underpowered, and it was a challenge of finding a build that was survivable for longer thank 3 seconds in WvW. But once I did find one I had a good time. Really hope that the class becomes competitive with the most powerful classes/builds in a PvP/WvW environment.

8 Missing Skills

I find every single Shiro skill useful in pve (expecially Riposting Shadows and Phase Traversal, LOL, are we kidding? The first is a stun breaker and the other one is a leap). The only skill I find useless among all the skills we have is Jalis taunt, but only because it costs too much.

And if you don’t find them useful (lol) then just swap Shiro with another legend. We have )soon) 5 of them, I’m sure you’ll find something you like. Just as with utility skills.

Found a “Situation” where this came in handy in WvW. Enemy player was rushing for the door, got it off just before he hit the portal and he turned to attack… Needless to say he didn’t make it inside.

Skill is very situational as the game stands right now however.

What I found in WvW was that the Sword did have a good chance at doing a lot of damage, being able to stay in range of my enemy to do that damage was a big challenge. I found that when using the skills to close combat, i would find myself behind my enemy and facing the wrong direction. Skill 2 just seemed very lack luster, and skill 3’s short distance (450) is hard for me to judge.

As far as burst damage goes, My Condi guard, does a great deal more burst damage.

Just my thoughts.

The map is absolutely stunning in regards to the artwork, but it is absolutely horrible in regards to game play. It seems like everything the hard core WvW players have been telling you for the past couple of years fell on deaf ears. Everything we specifically said we hated about maps, you decided to throw into this one.

Major issues:

1. There are freaking PvE mobs all over the place, some of which are quite the pain in the kitten to deal with. Why? Seriously, if I wanted to fight PvE mobs, I would go PvE, but like most WvWers, I hate it.

2. I really don’t want to WvW in a giant jumping puzzle. Too many elevation changes, jumping locations, and confusion. I fully realize that some of this is not being intimately familiar with the new map, but at the same time …it is grossly overdone.

3. Stupid gimmicks all over the place. If EOTM were a crack addict and had a baby, it would be this map.

4. Way too large. Bigger maps are good if the terrain was flatter and had less twists/turns and NPCs ….but bigger in addition to all the other crap just gets in the way of game play.

I suspect my thoughts (which are completely echoed by members of my entire guild) will fall on deaf ears, but this map is basically everything we hate about EOTM on steroids. We want large, flat areas free of NPCs to fight in, mixed in with some places that smaller forces can use to spread out and choke a large force if they are tactically smart and out play them. We don’t want stupid gimmicks that get in the way of game play (like the ones there now), but we DO want some mechanics in place that help to spread out blobs. The current implementation on the new map is crap.

My advice is this:

1. Shrink the map so it splits the difference between the old map and the current implementation in half. That away it is larger than the old maps to help spread things out, but not too large like the current map.

2. Get rid of the freaking NPCs. My preference would be to get rid of all of them, but perhaps you could put some ‘camps’ in out of the way places and away from traffic flow at a drastically increased XP/loot bonus to entice people to farm them (and entice gankers to farm the farmers)

3. Flatten the map out some and make it feel less like a jumping puzzle in places.

4. Get rid of the overdone mechanics. They get in the way of game play, not encourage it. If you want mechanics in place to spread out the fights, do something like making it a requirement to hold two ‘towers’ before a ‘keep’ can be taken …or something similar. It doesn’t have to be ‘that’, but you get the idea. Something simplistic to achieve the required effects.

This is another problem, Too many WvW players disagree about what WvW should be.
Personally I like what I have seen from the new map. (except for the NPC’s) I love that it breaks up zerging. But not everyone agrees with me, nor do I agree with everyone else. I would quit the game if they followed the above options 1, 3, and 4.

I hate to be this way, but I am apprehensive. Maybe because burnout has already set in due to a lack of development over the last 3 years. I know that the Dev’s have put in a lot of “features” such as mastery’s, and even the borderland changes. However none of that had any real positive influence on the game type. I am excited to see the new map, and hope that my guild/group of friends can thrive in it, but I have a feeling it will be a “bandaid” on top of the real problems.

Without a release date for HOT, we could be looking at another year before any real changes could happen. I fear that this will be far too late.

Question About BWE1 Banks

In the previous beta it happened at the time of character creation (which you could check for by deleting your beta character, adding something to the normal bank, and recreating the beta char).

Some guy had a thread where he was was asking for the ability to get a new version of the bank in the last beta. He wanted to add items to it. I asked him if he tried to delete his beta char and remake to see if that worked. He said he tried that and it didn’t.

This happened to me, I moved more stuff into my bank after deleting my first character but those changes didn’t happen.

1 hour is 1 hour, regardless of how many there are in 1 day. Flow of time only changes with gravity and speed, so 1 hour for you may be 1 year or 1 second (seen from the outside).
However I get what you mean and I agree: doing 50 meters in the mist doesn’t mean that you also are 50 meters away whan you’re back in the real world. Or spending 1 day in the mist doesn’t mean that once you’re back 1 day has passed.

That’s my argument.

i can see why you would be concerned by the hammer being the only range but it’s not over yet, i highly doute anet will let us only have 1 range wep for rev but only time will tell….maybe the elite spec will have another range atleast i hope it does present itself :/

Being a heavy class i can absolutely see Hammer being the only ranged main for quite some time, (maybe in later specializations ). Honestly I don’t mind because it does fit my play style, I just hope that they fix the damage modifiers for the character over all. If I’m going to be in the thick of a fight I want to be able to push out as much DPS as possible while being able to take a hit too.

Only one thing I wanted to touch on here. I found that since I bind my heal button to my mouse moving the tablet around and keeping it where I wanted makes a huge difference.

Mallyx #4 Unyielding Anguish (aoe displace)

I absolutely love the mechanic of this skill.

I mostly play WvW and in larger fights the theme has always been “Crowd Control”. The team that can push out the most DPS while controlling the enemy movements tend to win the most fights. Now when Unyealding Anguish enters the playing field it disrupts the zerg ball effect and throws a new mechanic into the mix. I honestly feel like its better than guardian JI+RoW. It creates chaos and makes a fight that much more unpredictable.

Secondly if your playing a support build or small team roaming it gives you the opportunity to revive a teammate before the stealth thief / mezmer can spike them. I don’t know how many times I was able to save a teammate last night using this skill. Worked beautifully!

The only thing I see wrong with it is that it still works on champs with Defiance. This should be fixed. I couldn’t tell if stability ignored its effects or not, but it should. -1 stack of stability.

I’m remembering the funny post I saw yesterday, where someone pondered if the Hand of Irony would give him his first precursor… in the test.

But as shared, items and wealth won’t transfer to your real account. That just wouldn’t be a good idea at all.

Not that I have a problem with it or dissagree with the practice, I just don’t completely understand why. Some things I do such as class specific skins, but not too much else. Since I only get to play on the weekends I will test out the rev, however I won’t spend much time playing the class since loot and guild chat is disabled.

I think what the Op might be referring to is a 2v1 situation. Often in WvW BL maps The defending team will be fighting 2 fronts, One on the east, one on the west. Its very common for the offensive teams to ignore each other for the most part, and attack/defend the side of the map they spawn on. I believe what the Op is really requesting is enough available slots to defend both fronts at the same time.
