What’s worse about this entire situation is that Mesmers have taken over Thieves role.

There is absolutely no reason to play a Thief in this current meta when you could have a Mesmer instead.

Thieves rely on stealth and evades to stay alive but mesmers.. no they get clones.. ample supply of boons…. invulnerabilities… and now… PU STEALTH DURATION.

To be fair SA is very very strong. One of the strongest defensive trait lines in the game.

Anet makes some absolutely stupid decisions sometimes and I have no idea why.

Not sure how long you’ve been playing this game, but since launch Anet has taken their sweet sweet time on balancing issues. So, if you think just because they don’t patch or fix anything in the next or upcoming patch; that they don’t see a problem… well you don’t know Arena Net very well.

If Mesmers aren’t coming down, then Thieves need to come up.

Im really having a hard time imagining how anyone who plays this game regularly and PvP’s believes that mesmer are ok as they are. I dont understand, someone please explain to me how this current Mesmer meta is balanced. Please.

As a Thief main the argument to me is not that Thieves are lacking. It’s that Mesmers have taken over the role that Thieves were supposed to fill.

Mesmers have replaced Thieves in the stealth, damage and support department. For the sake of this post and length I won’t get into details and number crunches but there is no reason to play a Thief in this current meta with the way Mesmers are built right now. Not to mention the amount of damage Mesmers can put out while still sustaining amidst a fight and surviving.

As an overall statement Thieves still do what they’re supposed to do, they just don’t do it as well as Mesmers can.

Unless your idea of Thief play involves Venomshare, or Back capping points with Thief mobility; play a mesmer.

If only Multiple Personality Disorder had more of a name like terminology. Be perfect for the Revenant.

I’m always amazed at the few abusive/toxic people from certain small/mediocre skilled servers who have determined they own said server and nobody else is welcome on same.

The more that transfer, the more these people’s voices are drowned out and gotten rid of from the server they claim to own.

And when all the bandwagoners leave, the people that called these guys ‘toxic’ will remember them and will say: “Looks like they were right…”

In what way would you ever think they were right ?

Who in their right mental state goes around shouting off abuse at random people to stop them joining a server, because they somehow think that server belongs to them.

90% of the transfers to HoD came here because HoD was the highest rated server with free transfers. People flocked here to win the season, or at least be part of a server that could compete with other silver league servers.

I like transfers, but what I don’t like are multiple 300+ member guilds coming in and sucking the life out of the community like leeches, they suck the community dry until their fat on their own egos, point fingers then hop off that host and find another one. It happens every. single. time.

It’s disgusting, and I hold very little compassion and respect for guilds like that.

Nothing I can do about it, but if this post dissuades just one of those guilds from coming here, i’ll consider this a success.

Great fights in FC BL today at Bay!

Lol tbh, a lot of people stopped caring. I think with the achievements gone, and the spunk of leagues gone, a lot of people stopped caring. Not to mention finals week, this is pretty awesome. A lack of fairweathers on HoD I am noticing.

Regardless, this was a fun reset night. That hour long confrontation in DH’s garrison, with over 17 war banners on that lord was a hell of a fight. Really gave us a run for our money.

I have been reading a lot about HoD allegedly sandbagging, as well as hearing about it on TS and now reading about it here. I had to chuckle. Is it possible to sandbag in a recreational on-line game? I think not.
Either way to me it does not matter. What does matter to me about HoD is that they appeared to have GREAT Commanders and an amazing cohesiveness as a server, sometimes to a fault which unfortunately we were unable to take advantage of.

As far as FC goes, I am VERY Proud of my Server for hanging in and not giving up like so many servers I have seen. It was a real job sometimes, holding on to 2nd place, last week more so than this week. Playing against what I have seen this Season, 4th overall is not a bad place to sit. When you are on top you are trying to hold on, everyone below has something to climb for.
Oh and BTW, for that HoD Norn Warrior that kept doing the /sit emote on my head while I was waiting for a rez …. I will be looking for you!

kitten right we tanked. Many didn’t want to do it, but I sure as kitten did. If teh majority of our WvW population consisted of organized guilds and cooperative commanders, I would of been down for Silver.

But most of our force is composed of pugs, nothing wrong with that. However, when the going gets tough, they’re the first ones to leave. I like to look at this as an opportunity to get many people who have never dipped their feet into WvW a chance to pick it up and be interested without getting their kitten kicked in by a server that is way out of our league anyways.

Sound familiar?

You want to be mad at someone? Be mad at the way these leagues were structured and the way the match ups were pre chosen. That’s what you really should be mad about.

IT would be great to have a seperate commander UI, where he/she can designate ground targets for focus fire, areas of interest, etc. Colored markers that only people in your squad can see.

Maybe even be able to put down “ghost” seige to show where they want seige placed. THen someone can throw the blue print down on the spot commander designates where the ghost siege is located.

Yeah, I actually feel pretty bad for SF. That’s a real crappy spot to be in, if nothing else leagues were a good indicator of what our servers are potentially capable of.

I asked the question and at least your honest about it. As for WvW in general it will never be balanced or fair you can only hope for fun. That said fighting HoD or DH during prime time was fun and if SF could get some overnight/morning guilds I think a great match would be SF/HoD/DH.

Oh hell yeah, only issue is that each of those servers has a pretty hefty fair weather population. Seeing the name “Henge of Denravi” pop up on reset may be enough to cut the population in half.

And on the flip side, all those fair weathers on HoDs side are going “Oh boy! Karma train! More orange bags and keep lords!”

Inflated HoD population + Deflated DH, SF population = Not such a great match up.

The problem here is that even after beating SF and doing your chest thumping, HoD (or more specifically MU and VLK) keep comming stalking SF to keep talking crap about them…

Hey this isn’t suppose to be hostile, only reason we’re in here is because before HoD (along with many other VLK) Darkhaven is where we called home.

To whoever asked what will happen when HoD makes it into silver league, here’s the correct answer:

Fair weather population will disapear completely, leaving the main WvW guilds on HoD fighting it out. [FKB] [MU] [NDA] [VLK] [TAA] are some examples, not sure why I even typed that out.

Anyways, we will get our kitten handed to us on a nice fat golden platter, lose every week until we drop back down to Bronze league. Unless it’s a NSP/IoJ and maybe even CD week.

I wish I could show you guys a poll that was up two months ago, where most voters thought that SF and FC would take the top. Interestingly enough, HoD and DH weren’t even close in votes. This isn’t an attempt to talk crap, its just interesting.

Anyways poor SF’s player base took a huge morale hit against HoD twice, it’s not surprising to me that DH is benefiting from that disappointment.

Had this match been before SF/HoD’s DH would probably be sitting in third place comfortably.

Anyways, I wish I could be there for this match. Tried to convince VLK to come over to have some fun, and GvG [BS] [CoSa] and [Star] however the 1000 gem transfer cost kitten ed all over that idea.

Keep up the good fight SF, I honestly think you guys have had it the hardest.

Great job everyone, yes the leagues were stressful, majorly unbalanced, demoralizing, and intense. But hopefully arena net will take a look at the results of league, and find a solution to better balance the competition.

I personally look forward to a NSP/IoJ/HoD match. I think that would be an absolute dream match.

I mostly blame VLK for letting this thread almost hit page 2. The quantity and quality of their yo mama jokes has been extremely underwhelming for this matchup.

With HoD suffering a great lost with Devon being out of the forum games for 3 weeks due to excessive “Yo mama” jokes. The HoD forum warriors struggled to match their dominance on the WvW scene. With the return of Devon tonight at midnight, will there be a revamped forum wars for next week?! Who knows?!

The biggest forum competition seemed to come from the one and only Narsil, who single handled wracked up: 40 posts! With five double posts! One triple. And the legendary quintuplet post! And there is still time to get more in. Though it does seem many people seem to skip over Narsil’s posts because of the spam. As seen by Silas Drake: “I honestly don’t read anything you post… so (I know I’m a jerk).” Even though the lack of reading going towards Narsil’s post this seems to be the biggest competition for Devon, seeing as Narsil has not figured out there is indeed an edit button for posts. Will Narsil’s forum spam match Devon’s Yo Mama jokes? Stay tuned for next weeks episode of: “The Clash of the Trolls: Episode 87”

Next we look upon [Deth] after calling out a number of guilds on reset night for their relentless T0 Blobbing (Yes, this is a GREATER number of people in T1 blobs). [Deth] has failed to show or respond in the GvGs they called for. Has [Deth] fallen from grace when they were once a dominate force in the GvGs in the lower tiers? Have they recruited to many PvErs? Questions that only they can answer.

[MU] is our next topic of discussion. With the 80 man [MU] zerging upscales and ambient creatures. Can anyone put a stop to them?! [CoSA] had the best approach of power rezing like a bunch of pros. There recent post of the video titled “Zombies” led to a debate in the thread about having skill compared to SPAM 1 HARDER FOOLZ, sorry about that I got carried away. [MU] has definitely made an impact on HoD’s WvW scene and will hopefully stay for the long run.

The lack of fireworks from the one and only Taco Thief is also up in the air. Has the sky rocketing prices of fireworks finally reached his purse? Or has the constant T0 zeros from HoD darkened out the sky covering them? Either way it is a sad disappointment that there was a lack of fireworks though out this match.

We shall now hit up the conspiracy theory rolling around the Bronze League, led by the one and only Styx of GoM. Though I have heard though the grape vine and weeds. That HoD has planed this fall or dive to Bronze League since the start of TA. Yes, you heard correct the famous Titan’s Alliance. The TA was hidden in the shadows to prepare for the Bronze League so HoD could sweep the competition. As HoD slowly unveils TA to the Bronze League will the infamous Buygate be able to compete as HoD pulls a Kaineng and moves up to T1 in a matter of days. Keep on following HoD to find out! Will Styx uncover the real secrets hidden since the start of the game? Or will he crash and burn as new forum warriors appear and push him aside like a solo upscale ranger in WvW.

The outburst of the week goes to: QuickLime! I know why. You know why. He knows why. Hell, Anet knows why. Though an apology was quickly written and put up. Regardless of being forced or if by own will. Let’s give him a round of applause for having the balls to admit he was wrong. Since we know 3/4ths of you wouldn’t. We hope he can deal with his real life problems and get back to the forum waring and upscale killing in a timely fashion.

We leave the best for last! The discussion of [Yarr]! They temporarily transferred to HoD to kill spawn farm SF and kill their fellow FC. Lets give them some love. A guild that HoD loves regardless of who they fight for. In recent news, [Yarr] called out [Deth] (the GvG dodgers) for a GvG. It is safe to assume we all know the outcome of that. [Deth] spent no time saving their dodges and double dodged out of there! [Yarr] will be missed on HoD and are wished the best of luck returning to FC.
