Yep. happening much more now, I never had DCs until the last patch/ fixes have improved it. TP selling was down and out on Sun for a while but was fixed but selling has become much slower.

2 years later… and we have 2 new zones and 1 new dungeon path, which took the place of an old one. New wvw map… and a bunch of features that the game needed. The new patches have been cool for the 30 mins it took to play, but beyond that this game is going nowhere. The devs have lost touch with the player base. Telling us what we want…. FoV… First person… SAB. All things it would take no effort to put into the game but they won’t do it. Honestly what are they doing over there.

I agree with the idea and initial concerns and lack of an expansion. However your 3 examples (FOV, 1st Person, SAB) aren’t going to help. FOV—explained and could be exploited, 1st person—-not a game changer—good for screen shots, SAB has absolutely no place in any mmo and was a complete waste of dev time. In fact none should be part of an expansion.

Because the real mmo players (not 8 bit ols school nintendo platform jumpers who want useless bling that does for the actual game type players) be punished because ke resources and devs should be dedicated to actually fixing and improving the game instead of this.

No it doesnt!!!—there was a patch last week with NO patch notes, many threads asking about it and Anet (following the new No communication protocol) didn’t comment or answer.
Major and LS updates, they usually post.

Not really….I had to look it up. We just call it Gravy Fries w/ Cheese, down here in the Deep South.

While potatoes + gravy (and in some cases, grated cheese) is not seen as revolutionary anywhere in northern and eastern Europe… poutine does not simply have cheese on top, but cheese curds (the fresher, the better). It doesn’t make a lot of difference to me, but my Canadian family told me off for my ignorance.

It’s not your internet connection but your computer. My guildies have terrible connections but extremely good computers. And I have the opposite.

It takes me a minute or more to load anything, it barely takes them 10 seconds.

Not necessarily true true, not the equipment in my cas. It was working fine for me and the the load times have incredibly increased since Sat. It has gotten worse. Sun night the game wasn’t evem loading (M) maps.

GW2 doesn’t have that problem. Since they give us new content every 2 weeks – new zones, new dungeons, new stories, new maps, new features, it keeps us playing.

Again it does not keep “us playing” (only you and others that like it it), some , including myself, do not keep playing new areas other than to finish the story in a incredibly short time and don’t bother with the ‘new’ area again.
You may not be leaving and you enjoy the new cycle—-others don’t like the way it is evolving.

I do agree with the the opening premise—expansion or its’ over. I also agree that the LS does not ‘cut it’. Drop in every 2 weeks for the unlock and do the story only. I personally don’t like drytop ect—-many many others do( I am glad that you do).
I no longer buy gems ( I used to get the 2000 gem cards on a regular basis to support the game).

That being said WoW will never even be considered as an alternate game to play(or any other sub based game.)
Falls is coming/then XMAS—there will be many many many others ways and games to attract my interest and more importantly my $$. So far Anet hasn’t done anything for me to even consider supporting them with cash again.

If you are being killed on your way to a vista, bring some friends/guildies. They probably have a character that could do some mapping as well. And if you’re on a low tier, running around with a group will make you a fairly powerful force to avoid. Also, WvW mapping is best done in a 3 steps, mapping each color’s main areas at a time.

I play solo. I have been playing for almost 2 yrs, solo. I have no friends nor guild mates. I should not be forced to have friends or guild mates in order to complete something in the game such as this exploratory achievement.

It seems that the non-comumication/ignoring the player base, that they have demonsrated recently has reached a new high—total disrespect.

Poutine is everywhere now. Just had Beef Cheek poutine in Guelph—could have had Fois Gras poutine—and just about anything else is out there too.
A basic poutine is still the best—it’s all about the gravy and good fresh squeeky curds.!!!

Gave up buying Gem many many months ago—used to buy 2000 gem cards an a regular basis to support the game. I don’t support their decisions and direction anymore. They are giving me more reasons not to buy them again. If I really need something (really really need) or something that will actually enhance game play or is useful, then I will convert gold.

Another one of these threads? (Insert “beating a dead horse” gif here.) I’m on a Tier 8 server for WvW, and while it may have taken a while, it is still doable. The thing is, you’re so used to running around in PvE where there’s no challenge to mapping that when it DOES become a challenge, you don’t like it because you can’t accomplish it as easy as mapping Queensdale.

Here’s a suggestion: Ask in map chat if anyone else needs a POI or vista that you need. If there are people that do need it, group with them and go get it or take it. Keep your eye on the matchups to see when your server has a Borderland you need to map. Yes, its a pain when your server is the same color for 3 weeks in a row, but it WILL change at some point. The WvW community is a fun bunch, and most likely will group with you to help. You’ll also get good loot. Every time you gain a WvW level, you get a rank up chest with cash and drops, each tower gives a champ loot bag, and you get ascended crafting mats if you’re level 80.

Are you upleveled when you go to WvW? It might help to be level 80 with full exotics all around, and food buffs. If you haven’t yet leveled up your crafting to 400 chef, and whatever armor and weapons you use, do that first so you’re not spending your hard earned gold on food buffs, armor, and weapons. You get achievement points for it, too. These forums have good topics on WvW builds for your class, so check those out as well. I’ll wager that when you get with a group that takes that tower you need the POI from, and stick with them when they take Bay, Hills, or Garrison on a Borderlands map, or a few other towers or camps, you’ll be hooked on the unique fun that is WvW.

One suggestion: always have supply!

It’s only a dead horse because anet doesn’t give a darn. FBs support the the stupid way they make WvW needed for map completion. Simple as that. Now if there was a way to charge gold/gems and get useless bling—then they would be all over eliminnating it.

Mob champs around SB and many other similar fights where champs mob spawn. Just useless fluff added to increase length of time of an event and they never drop loot now.
The champ(s)that used to spawn(pre mega I believe) used to drop loot at SB. The champ spawn was dependent on how many players were there. Now the champ mob spawns—but never do they drop loot.

So I go to reddit and I see completely different threads. Lots of people posting different opinions. Tell me, why are the threads so different on reddit?

Oh, I know. They’re peer moderated. People downvote stuff they don’t like (even if they shouldn’t) and it vanishes. That doesn’t happen here. Two, three, five guys here can keep a thread going forever. But if you count individual names in those threads, for and against, you’ll find that a long held thread doesn’t mean community agreement. It doesn’t mean everyone is saying the same thing, or that it agrees with anything else.

Hell 2 people arguing can keep a thread going for months and months. I’ve seen it happen.

But in a place like reddit, which is actually run by the community a lot of this stuff doesn’t get the same fraction. I wonder why?

Not liking what you get from RNG is not proof it’s in any way “BROKEN”. All evidence I have seen is definitive proof RNG in GW2 works as well as can be expected from a computing system.

If you want to don your Tin Foil Fedora and make wild claims about “proof” RNG isn’t working as intended, start a new thread (or add to the 100s already on here).

And thats why after finishing the personal story, I can’t be bothered with Drytop.
Will finish the next installment in less than an hr and then wait 2 weeks for for another hr of play. The fossil drop rate and everything that relies on the very restictive/unbalanced/scewed/broken RNG does not make me (and apparently others) want to play for these very limited and blue/green rewards and drops.

I don’t think forcing people to group in order to do story content is the way to go.
Just look at all the rage with the battle against Zhaitan in Personal Story.

Still waiting for that part to be made solo.

As for the OP——LFG to play the personal story. At least you have a choice to play it in a group or solo.

Can’t figure it out either. I have a boss or champ targeted, start attacking and then WTF?? the target has changed to some lower minion. Re-target the boss and attack then boom some other enemy is now the target—it is really annoying. And it does happen on non stealth enemies.

First, it just wouldn’t work and second.

And remember the cardinal rule about who we are not supposed to feed.

I main a ranger too and I’ve never had problems. I’ve only got owned on WvW against thiefs. Another good way to level up is Edge of the Mists.

I just used my ranger to run around like a lightning bolt to get my WvW map completions.
I’ll take my guardian in during the very few times I actaully want to play WvW.
Maybe I’ll actually try a dungeon with the Guard one day—-it’s another area of the game I haven’t really experienced yet (just one that I did with 1 friend and we were both using the so called useless dungeon ranger).

When it comes to your story line, it’s best to get a few levels ahead of it before doing it…makes it a bit easier and doable solo. If you still have trouble doing it, get a friend to join you and help with the story.

And as others have said here, do everything else in the world to level quicker. Hearts, events, map exploration, reviving downed npcs, gathering, viewpoints, doing dailies, etc., are all good ways to get your level up pretty quickly. Then do your personal story when you get at the appropriate level or above. Heck, I have a couple lowbie alts that are a good 10-30 levels ahead of their personal storyline……I just do it when I feel like it…lol. Everything else I do for leveling.

And ignore the Ranger naysayers. (Draknar’s post above on those naysayers is spot on)They’re a fun class to play. Equip it however you like and learn as you go what weapon sets best suit your playstyle. Most of all, try everything in the game, and have fun!

Yep always stay ahead of your personal storyline lvl.
Have my ranger at 80, all ascended and then made a Guardian (lvl 80 all ascended). I always go back to the ranger. Was working up a warrior—meh. Now I have started a Mes—-it’s more fun to play than guard and war.

Why not try the new life story? Or maybe you just need to take an extended break from the game…..I take longer breaks from games that I get bored with them……works wonders in renewing my interest when I come back.

LOL-that took about 2hrs to complete.
Extended break and no real money gems or gem cards given to anet are the best options at this point.
Come back in 2 weeks for another couple of hrs of play—likely alot less if you are great at jumping and really good at the game in general.
