It would still have a cast time then guard wouldn’t be the only ‘shout’ in the game with one.
So much bias. I can’t wait for the tears when they ‘nerf’ warrior again, And by nerf I mean they make some sort of universal change that warrior’s believe was specifically targeting them alone.
It will be just like, quickness/pies/ferocity. The shortsightedness of the warriors amazes me, but then again the neromancers when they aren’t all pity-party are starting to try dragging down other profession as they’ve lost all hope for ‘real’ improvements.
I am kind of surprise that they don’t just merg all those threads and relocate them here as the mods do with certain other professions.
Scrap the whole thread. If it isn’t profession bias, it condition vs. burst bias. This is accomplishing nothing except revealing showing (in some cases yet again) what are the person preferences of the posters.
Original idea and fantasy can’t really happen together, all things have been done before somewhere it is all about presentation, but I really am not interested in the addition of dwarves, but it is anet’s game and they’ll do what they want.
I’ve used it to make jumps on jumping puzzles that would otherwise require swiftness so the increased distance is near that of what swiftness would offer.
Bug or not you are only choosing to see the interaction with longbow and eagle eye, but are just ignoring that all projectiles have similar functionality. So you come to the ranger subforum like so many before in a manner that in fact seem nothing less than antagonistic and you expect people here to what? Cheer you on in your needless bias against one profession. Not going to happen. How about you go back the Necro forum and share a good cry on how no one wants to dungeon with you or how pvper focus fire you down fire.
At this point the only thing I really hate about WvW is really this disjointed bipolar view of it needs to be fair, but it also war so anything goes vibe it gives off. Really just make it one or the other none of this half measure skritt.
So longbow is overpowered, but hard countered by line of sight so, line of sight is overpowered, but some attack can hit through barriers so those too much be overpower by definition. Nerf everything.
It’s because the game is 75% off.
Gold sellers have been buying new accounts to use. But those will get banned just like they always do.
Pretty much this trolls and spammers are really get the most benefit from the game going on sale like it has just like every other time.
We currently can’t get the designers/artists to make armors not have major clipping issues (among other problems) with existing races I can’t image what adding another that isn’t just based on humans would do to that situation.
The problem with the builds at their ‘prime’ is many of them were just difficult for player to deal with especially when many were still learning to play. Recall at one time hundred blades was godly not because it was exceptionally powerful, but people did not know what to do about it. However as the player base skill level improves there is strange place that longer term players get stuck on, the concept of remember when X was good/overpowered.
While additional love across the races would be nice I have a feeling the people that work on the majority of armor/outfits prefer to working with the human models and every thing else is just part of the job they get stuck having to make a token effort on.
Anyone else notice how they are very quick to move anything remotely related to ranger straight back here? (At least they finally stopped moving the bug threads back here) Especially in the spvp subforum, which surprises me as they allow for nearly a page worth of turrent engineer threads to remain both unmerged and not moved to the engineer subforum.
Ranger must have been on the daily, nothing to see here.
Going to need more detail than that, I would just assume that it is one of those can’t find the body glitches.
What about a small AoE that damages foes in the area? Perhaps have it pulse at the same rate that the banner buff reapplies itself. As for how much it would do idk, it would require play testing.
Although I do like the idea of actually having a reason to use the banner skills, maybe keep the CD reduction? Not sure if that’s too much for a minor trait.
Something like that would more than likely lead to the banner becoming targetable.
Kind of reminds me of tekkaman.
Daily bring the complaint especially if there isn’t a lot of days inbetween for people to shift focus, the next time there is less than 3 day apart for ranger that will be the topic (though they tend to relocate the ranger complaints to the ranger subforum). Why haven’t they merged all these a banished them to the engineer subforum?
It not like defeat should be an inconvenience or anything, right?
I could care less if they make more build related statements I just want to know who OK’d for the profession to not have more equally distribution on their daily system. After they are outed I request they are never allowed to make a judgement call in the game again.
No matter what system is in place as long as there is some sort of reward there are people will try to exploit it.
Do you have a source beside opinion on what would happen to the playing of pvp with such a change. For that matter if pvp matters that much why not play unrank/rank instead of practice?
Also on rewarding bad behavior they never did anything to players using exploit in the any tournament they just eventually got around to fixing it. What does that say about bad behavior?
I’d have to agree that it is too late for them to even consider reworking any of the existing class mechanics as they would be too much work and the potential for messing thing up too great.
That and on a PR point of view it would just ask for a “we paid for a game still in beta” style comments.
Seems like a no win situation then. The mode isn’t sustainable, so we will have to see if stronghold will work better for them. I think they’ve set themselves up for trouble when they completely focused on conquest (the whole do one thing well didn’t work out) from the beginning and then finding that mode doesn’t set well with enough players.
Why stop there? Why should there be any rewards at all to try to coerce players that are not primarily concerned with just PvP?
Simple answer the mode can’t support itself without the influx of players that would normally avoid PvP. If you don’t think this is the case then why did they feel the need to have a pvp 101 section added to the Point of Interest? How much of an issue would the PvP community have if they added a skill/use discussion section of ready up completely focused on PvE? I can’t see it going well (as some don’t even like the inclusion of wvw in the Ready Up focus).
Snip.
Don’t bother arguing with DarkSyze.8627, he’s either a really good troll or just someone really bad at the game.
Don’t do that its the thieves turn to keep him occupied for the good of the total community. Think of it as a challenge.
Why not just us a name change on the first character then recreate the character with a new slot and use the previous name?
Still Anet will someday get to fixing it just like the weapon stow interaction with lightning whip on elementalist or that bug where warriors could have the passive from signet of might without having it equiped (during a tournament no less) how long it take is mainly a function of how much work it is to fix it vs other stuff they have in the queue.
So you are participating in ‘match fixing’ there is a faction of forum thought that believes that should be ban worthy, I could care less.
If you don’t want to play certain maps there are two options, ranked or get yourself a custom arena where only the maps you like come up.
Here’s an idea how about instead of dishonored they just remove a players chance to vote for X number of matches.
You mean the whole development process of living world is not enough proof?
Again with presenting opinion as fact. If you can’t even go into detail of why you have the opinion you might as well just finish devolving your argument to either:“Are not” or :Is too".
Downed state is one of the reason Anet abandoned dungeon, and the main issue is that downed state made the content easy, because of downed state encourage dps and discourage healing and tanking build. It is very difficult for Anet to design hard content for all dps without forcing people to go holy trinity, this is why Anet prefer design open world content instead of dungeon because the only difficult mechanic they can think of is massive zerg coordination instead of individual player experence and skill level.
Source? If there are none then you are trying to present your opinion as fact.
One could easily argue that the amount of effort to find/remove exploits and ensure that they do not appear in future content was too much for the limited replay value thus dungeons were abandoned.
Not entirely sure the population could stand to lose any players, so they can not punish the ‘ragequiters’ overly much, but with all the general issue of spvp the mode seems to be losing players anyways, and yet the somewhere they still are waiting for the miracle of esport to happen all the while the pvers are paying the bills for a ‘pvp’ game.
So what can be done?
The only reason I mention it is that once it is a ranger day again you will see a couple of complaint threads about ranger (or you might if catch them before they get sectioned off to the ranger subforum).
I think these thread wouldn’t come up quite so often if engineer wasn’t on rotation for the daily more often that the average per 30 days. But then again has there been any statements about how the profession dailies were decided?
Not that anyone will want to hear this, but at least the minions are an optional choice, you really don’t want them to try to make them more important to the profession that is a path to bandaid fixes as behavioral programing will never be a low enough fruit for them to tackle with any seriousness.
This kind of make me wonder how messed up the revanant would have been if they had released it at launch and wanted until they had better behavior ‘technology’ to design the ranger for a expansion release.
I would like to add they need to really rethink the spirit skills, that are a mess.
All I see here is an attempt at reviving the “a kill is a kill” school of thought. The down state is going no where so if you do not like it you can weigh how much you like the game against how much you dislike the down state and decide if you are going to continue playing.
However to all that do quit can I have your stuff?
Some of the problem I see here is lumping all the summoning skills into one group spirits are closer to banners than they are to minion, but if they are going to be stuck in that place they need redesigned to be more similar of the elemental from the glyph skills.
No MMO will ever be 100% balanced. Whenever one ability is “balanced” another is discovered to be made overpowered by the balancing of the previous ability. And so this dance continues.
But, there are always some abilities that are so blatantly overpowered that they need to be addressed lest the PvP landscape be reduced to an ocean of nothing but one class.
A-net is, for the most part, very mindful of how to balance, and generally does a very good job.
A warrior’s “hundred blades” would be stupidly overpowered if they could use it while moving, right? Of course, that’s why that restriction was put in place early on, and it’s one that I agree with.
But, why then can my Engineer be dropped from full health to zero while stealthed and blocking by a ranger’s “Rapid Fire?” It can be dodged you might say, and that would be true if not for the ranger’s immobilize, which can’t be broken by any means other than damage, which takes too much time and stops you from damaging the ranger for the duration.
“Rapid fire” is an ability with damage that is comparable to a warrior’s “hundred blades,” except it can be channeled while moving, has a range of 1200 (further if you arc it right), continues to hit a target if they stealth and move around, can be unblock-able, and like hundred blades it has a cooldown much shorter than any damage mitigating ability. How can it possibly be justified that this ability does not require restrictions to it like a warrior’s “hundred blades?”I realize that I probably won’t get much support here on the Ranger sub-forum, but this thread would probably have been moved here if I posted it elsewhere.
0/10 you somehow believe rangers can hit through a block with anything other than a trap. Either that or you are exaggerating to make your point seem more valid.
Orrrr ANET can just take away the poor excuse for a Grandmaster Trait that is Foot in the Grave, and give us Shade back. One can dream….right?
The only reason shade was even considered was a good idea was (if I recall correctly) the existence of auto attack chains that could knockdown.
Ranger, Mesmer, Necromancer are all under the average. Warrior has 7 (so depending on how you choose to round may be the average).
Guardian as 10, Elementalist 9, Thief 10 are also above the average. Not sure who designed the system, but somewhere it is very flawed.
There will only be 9 engineer days next month so…
Probably wouldn’t come up nearly as often if they moved engineer to the same listing that they draw guardian from. but then some other profession would come up more often than what is reasonable.
Don’t put words in my mouth boy.
0/10 Awful comeback.
They have really relaxed their policy on the use of exploits that are broken/unintentional parts of the game, but it they were more harsh they would destroy spvp because people would use bugged stuff with the excuse of “It wouldn’t work that way if we weren’t supposed to use it” kind of BS that is possible the worst part of ‘competitive gaming’
TLDR: Exploit while you can, for someday it will get fixed.
And if they followed the terms on harassment they wouldn’t barely be able to keep queues under 20 minutes as it is so do you want the ToS followed completely to the letter or do you want spvp to keep the advantages of being the developers favor mode?
I have 3 (I also have 3 thieves, 3 necromancers and 2 of everything else at this point), but that is mostly because I like having that are solely for appearance, male and female character (where it matters) of each armor weight (with a couple of extras that happened) and playing through different professions makes that a bit easier for me.
