Let’s all be honest here. This issue would NEVER come up if the OP had not used an exploit to get around what ANet put in place to keep this exact issue from ever happening…

Also, there IS a buyback tab on the vendor screens…

There is only so much a company can be expected to do to protect users from themselves.

Would I want ANet to help me in this situation? Of course, but I would also know that this is 100% my fault and expecting them to bend the rules for me is a bit absurd.

If you don’t want to do the research on what will sell yourself, stick to selling materials….it’s much less of a hassle (but obviously does not help your crafting at all).

Crafting is only really useful to a single character during the journey to LVL 80….

Heal skills are for restoring HP, burst skills are for heavy dmg, this is the stupidest idea to make it condition removal. I hope you will read this ANet devs.

I’m pretty sure the name of the trait points out the irony of the combination. What you consider stupid others just might consider clever.

What if the trait removed a condition for each adrenaline bar gained and lost? Too much condition removal for 1 trait?

If you have 8 items and 7 work one way and 1 the opposite, why would you ever consider the 7 items to be the broken ones? Oh, so they all work the way you want….I get it. now.

I’ve always thought that instead of the CD / no lost adrin on a burst miss, you should loose one bar and have no CD. Minor punishment for missing but puts complete control in the hands of the player.

To be honest, Final Thrust at the end of the Auto-Chain was always suspect in my book…it just didn’t fit.

I think the entire sword auto-chain needs revamping, but Final Thrust should be it’s own skill (maybe lower the CD a bit (12 sec?), but the 50% condition is just fine (maybe cause a condition if extra damage does not land?). They could work on lowering the animation time a bit, but with the potential damage it can cause, it SHOULD be something that is possible to dodge.

Suggestion for sword auto-chain: Bleeding (more stacks) > Cripple (a bit longer than 1s) > Vulnerability (or some other condition that is not OP).
Just my 2 cents.

If you are wanting to craft to make some money, there are lots of guides that tell you exactly what materials you need (buy / harvest) and what to craft so you don’t have left over components (that tend to cause storage issues) (Google: GW2 crafting guide). Most crafts follow a very specific tier formula (Cooking is the major exception) but obtaining the needed materials either require a good bit of gold or access to higher level areas (than you can currently safely access) and time to harvest them.

If you are trying to craft for your own character equipment, this is kind of hard to do without higher level alt characters (or friends / guildies) supporting your crafting by donating higher zone materials and / or providing money. One way around this is to buy gems, convert to gold and buy the needed materials (a major topic of “dicsussion” is that with the current gem store and crafting structure, you can BUY a level 80 character with RL money thru crafting and never set foot out of a major city).

TIP: Sell them….

I tend to agree that getting a freakin’ carrot in higher end zones sucks, but the unknown factor does add some interest. Then again, most people that think about cooking ingredients don’t consider the recipes for dyes….they can take a ton of low end materials and can sell for quite a bit of $.

During the monthly events (especially when they start), border zones (ones not frequented by lots of players) are often reported as being “laggy” areas. While I have no facts to back my assumption up, I think ANet is directing resources (network bandwidth, servers, etc.) away from these “least used” areas, to improve performance in more frequented areas like main cities (especially LA), city adjacent zones, and more populated end game zones.

Just to play Anet’s defender for a moment, I’ll mention 2 reason that may be a factor in ANet accepting these offers of help in optimizing.

1) Lack of resources. If Anet has not allocated resources to work with nVida / AMD to optimize the code, then the refusal would be based on, “we just don’t have the manpower to do this.” I’m not saying the reason is good or that they shouldn’t “find” the resources to do it, but it is a possible reason.

2) I’m guessing the REAL reason is that in order to do this optimization, ANet believes (rightly or wrongly) that they would have to reveal certain tech details of their network encryption and security and are not willing to risk them with a 3rd (or 4th) party. All the NDAs n the world can’t put the single posting of a code hack on the internet back in the bottle.

Wow…. So Anet programmers have developed code that causes more and more lag? Are you sure you don’t want to reword your complaint (HINT: it’s NOT a code issue)?

I think this is not a bug and just falls under, “if that hurts, don’t do it”.

Lots of skills trigger very rapid actions / attacks….it’s best to avoid those possibilities while under confusion (a potentially very powerful and deadly condition).

I will certainly be in contact as I have half a dozen mid 50 LVL characters and have yet to run a dungeon to conclusion (hangs head in shame….). I’ve tried AC story with several characters and the pickup groups I get in slowly degenerate to yelling, profanity and frustrated players leaving.

I want to play the content, but frankly I’ve been shamed away by my past experiences, so I just pretend the content isn’t there.

From past experience, issues like this are 80% hardware starting to fail, 20% video drivers. Video drivers are easy to update and rollback, so start there. Try a rollback and see if an update has snuck past you and is causing issues. After that, go get the latest video drivers (or search and find which ones other players with your video card suggest for GW2) and install them (do a CLEAN install if possible).

If ti’s a hardware failure, the likely culprits are:
Bad or going-bad memory
Bad or going bad power supply
Overheating video card

Only way to eliminate the first 2 is try new hardware (expensive to try), but you can usually find software to monitor your video card temp so you might want to go there first.

This is why I always price my items at midway between the buy and sell price. It’s still high enough to give me a nice profit mark-up over the low-ball bids, but it’s low enough that I’m unlikely to be undercut by other sellers who are reluctant to give up a chunk of their profits. (And if my item happens to be bought up by someone who wants to relist it at a higher price, more power to them. I’ve got my money and I can go back to playing.)

I do something similar, but try to maximize what I can get (usually 2/3 to 3/4 between high buy and low sell). I’m not saying what is being request can’t be done, but it does open up a can of worms that it appears ANet is not willing to crack open.

So your goal is an 80 LVL character without having to PLAY the game?

….that’s an interesting way to entertain yourself….I guess…?

Unless there is someone around to help, fighting the toy mobs are just not worth it.

Some component in your system is overloading the Power Supply (or the Power Supply is overheating and shutting down). It’s entirely possible the FoTM are using some resources (video calls, more memory, etc.) that the other portions of the game do not use and those are the “tipping point” on whatever hardware is failing.

If it was a generic issue with FoTM code, there would be massive complaints about it.

One thing you could try is completely reload the game and re-load the DAT file….you could have some sort of corruption in the FoTM portion of the data….?

welp looks like anet support was verry wrong . i redownloaded the game and its working again as if nothing happened so hm.. the support girl told me that it was my computer apparently it wasnt the whole time it was the game itself so i suggest u guys take a look at this disconnection problem and dont ignore it because alot of players are having the same trouble as i am. and now mine is fixed thanks for nothing… ;/

They should have suggested the reinstall as a last ditch effort and not implied you computer was at fault but there is nothing they can technically “fix” to eliminate a possible corrupted download (they can certainly fix incorrect support guidance, however).

I have to 2nd this as I have exactly the same information under MY ACCOUNT > SECURITY

Big section for setting up and touting Mobile Authenticator and then a small Current Connection section at the bottom. Nothing on IP or Email Authentication or any other kind of security setup for that matter.

Are you trying to argue semantics or claiming that butter is half as abundant as the OP claims? Either way, it does tend to crop up a bit too often (as if someone in ANet has managed a skillfuly crafted inside joke for FAR too long).

What else are you going to use the multitude of transmute stones you get during the story mode?

I’m not saying the idea that ANet add a specfic method to obtain another one of the items at some point during the storyline is bad, but I don’t think it’s 100% legit to consider this a bug (an oversight, maybe?).

That’s the problem’s they don’t kitten care about terminating their customer account without any clear reason because they already have 2 million copies sold. My ticket and complain has not getting any reply from their representative till now just an automated reply that state my account has terminated forever, they even didn’t explain what 3rd party application that they accused me for. They already making profit, and now they run with my money and doesn’t care for my problems as their customer. I’m already tired of this kitten. They obviously have some method set up to check for specific activity specs and ban based on those results (most likely fairly automated). It’s also pretty obvious that eveyrone that was banned and is complaining here (possibly with cause) DID perform AFK activities that ANet considers BOTTING. Whether or not a warning or some time limit ban is appropriate for a first offense is ANet’s call (and I can see this being a point of argument with valid customers).

It also appears they are reviewing the complaints and reinstating accounts. If I were ANet and saw your posts (phoenixdot), I would make SURE you were the last guy reinstated as you are rude and demanding beyond what is just normal customer frustration or necissary to get your point across. Being civil (at least at first) is more likely to get you help than being a totalkitten (and you get less spit in your food too!).

I DO agree that the perma-ban is a bit harsh, but I think that if they start with a time limit ban, it is going to take longer for them to possitively identify actual player accounts and thus stop the actual hacked / BOT accounts. Yes, this ends up with actual customers having to jump thru hoops to get the service they have paid for, but it also sends a pretty strong message as to what ANet feels is BOT-like behavior (and they are serious about getting rid of it in the game).

Submitting a charge back request without pursing a solution from the vendor first is going to prove to be a very unwise decision….

And the CVC2 code is not the issue…your CC number being saved for future purchase on your account IS .

I think the Devs should certainly look into a method to periodically adjust the difficulty of events so that at the least the possibility of them failing exists. I would not want this increased difficulty to be present ALL the time and it’s certainly possible this already exists.

Or maybe if an event succeeds 10 times in a row, the next event is made very difficult by the introduction of a boss or some increasing number of sub-boss spawns during waves of the event?

All of my suggestions border on the game “cheating” to insure that the event fails occasionally, so that is a slippery slope to start down (and I’m sure the Devs realize that).

If you don’t have a 64-bit OS, upgrading beyond 4GB is a waste (unless you upgrade your OS as well)…
