Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
Technically it does NOT convert the item stats. It does the following.
You DO NOT get the same item back with new stats and your old upgrades intact. It’s certainly better than our previous options, but still not a TRUE, straight up stat change.

So your solution to not having to use the authenticator is to add my account info as clear text in a shortcut solution? This is exactly the type of kitten that causes accounts to be stolen.
While I don’t disagree it’s highly insecure, I would hope your akso realize that if THAT shortcut is accessible to anyone, your GW2 account security should be the LEAST of your security concerns.
I have to agree with Lord here that you are showing a vast level of naivety in your knowledge of of how “secure” you are and your reasoning about how Anets attempts to keep your account secure is nothing more than annoying to you. Also, you do realize that arguing this point in these forums is a waste of your time (assuming you actually WANT someone to do something about your complaint).

If you’re gonna dismiss the circumstances under which I did what I did then we cannot have a meaningful conversation.
Actually, the conversation her is meaningless as nobody here can change anyone’s mind about your old GW1 account status. Only the Support staff can review the ticket or possibly escalate it at your request.
Despite all this, they are quite unlikely to unban your account, but you have to take that up with Support as nobody here can assist you.
So your reason for why Healing Power should be a stat you should HAVE to increase to be functional in the game is simply so it has a reason to exist? Note that the default values on a LVL 80 DOES effect your healing abilty so that in of itself is a reason for it to exist. I’m not saying it could not use some tweaking as it has a less than useful status currently, but the ultimatum of “change it or remove it”, are not the only options here (leave it alone, is absolutely valid as the only people it is annoying are those that want to play “Healer” in a game that does not need a dedicated role for this).
Again, I ask in simple terms, WHY does the game design NEED to force players to put points in HEALING POWER?
On a side note, SUPPORT =/= HEALING so tying your desire to make a dedicated SUPPORT role a “thing” in the game does not mean that HEALING must be changed. As stated before, your desire to force dedicated roles into a game that does not currently need them, is what needs changing.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Or its actually not a problem. The problem lies with the players who have an antiquated mindset that you need healing power to be an effective support.
^THIS^
Explain to everyone WHY there must be a need to put points into HEALING POWER?
I would hesitate to say ALL armor because there are sets that can only be obtained by certain racial and faction groups, but the vast majority of sets can be unlocked by any character (certainly not limited by armor weight).
Anet has always been pretty lenient with gem purchased items, so I’m guessing they will not have a problem refunding the gems (as long as you destroy the item).

Just pointing out that if you have connection/latency issues that appear to be time of day related, you are likely being switched to a different routing profile by your ISP (or one of THEIR providers). Those profiles are usually designed to “intelligently” throttle connections (to save the ISPs bandwidth charges at peak hours) but can often have routing mistakes that send your traffic half way across the world OR there can be a defective piece of equipment in the route that only happens on specific profiles.
While only effective in testing inbound route, TRACRT is your best bet to identify those potential problems. Run it when connection is good and then when it is bad and compare the 2. It is also hard evidence you can send to your ISP to try and get them to stop the practice with your connection.
You want to clear zones and kill lots of yellow target ambient creatures in isolated, out of the way places on the map, so good mobility is likely the key here. Now if you are going to level using crafting or some other method, it doesn’t really matter.
Is it really that big a deal if ONE higher end game mode requires what the OP seems to insist is “gear check”? Exactly how does this fact harm any player at all?
You can do Fractals up to 10 without any special AR gear and get the minimal rewards that most players need from Fractals….I fail to see how this “gear check” causes any major in-game issues.
This seems to be less of an actual issue and more of a, “but Anet told me NO gear checks…..LIARS!!!”, issue.
What I don’t understand is why its not free to transfer to Low servers.
Seems like it would encourage people spreading out.
They have done this in the past just prior to a new WvW season starting (they also gave a discount to MEDIUM pop and jacked up the price for HIGH pop ones). It does make sense that they do this on some semi-regular basis despite any official season schedule.
Keep in mind that an enemy entering stealth will lose all targeting on an enemy.
Per above, it is a very GOOD idea to stop using your mouse as a target selector and start using the target selection buttons you can set up in a variety of ways (including CALLING a target that your party can then easily target also, or targeting an enemy that one of your allies have CALLED as a target).
Also, the suggestion to enable AUTO TARGETING has both advantages and disadvantages and I doubt that many PvP players would suggest using it (but it’s 100% YOUR call). Blowing your best skill on the wrong target due to the game selecting wrong, is NOT a good thing.
Another post from someone that really does not understand how the game was designed to NOT be like “other” MMOs. I GET that new players want to play what they are used to doing in other games, but just because you CAN’T does not make GW2 “broken”….it’s just different. You can either embrace it or (per OP post) attempt to request that it be made just like all the other MMOs out there (a pointless quest).
Also, the “Cult of Zerker” issue is purely a Dungeon/Fractal thing (and only if you are trying to farm the mode for max profit vs time). The idea that this nitch mode needs “fixing” to the detriment of the rest of the game is quite narrow minded and selfish.
It’s simply a bad policy for a Guild to “demand” and should be a red flag to any player looking for an “enjoyable” Guild experience….
True RPers only roll Illusionists…..silly wizard!
Thanks, but I’d rather sell and get money right away, than waiting a day and get my gear in return when no one buys it.
This attitude (and misconception) is what makes high end TP flippers so wealthy…..
Don’t get me wrong, there is a time to sell immediately (like when the sell order and buy order price is a within a few coppers), but doing it just for sake of convenience with no effort is never going to make you rich via the TP.
My point is your “Tip of the Day” is a good in terms of using the Trading Post religiously, but really horrible when telling others to blindly sell to the highest buy order….you can do what you want, but it’s NOT the best way to make the most coin.

The fact that the OP considers “their” class invalidated when a new one is introduced kind of points to the perspective problem with this entire thread. If the Revenant is so OP that it becomes the class of choice for power hungry players, wouldn’t that “invalidate” all other classes?
Again, looking at it from a purely “DPS RULZ ALL!!!”, point of view…..

Until you tell them you think your account has been compromised, they are going to approach the issue as if all the activity is yours. The fact that you say you GOT 300g mailed to your account and yet you do not see any weird activity on your account is indeed VERY weird….
Keep in mind that if someone has hacked your email and account, they could log in, clear the emails and authroized connection list on this site in order to hide all activity from you. Anet would certainly be able to see if someone is logging in from another location, but if you have not directly stated to them (via a ticket YOU open) that you think your account is compromised, they will likely not even look for that.
There is also the possibility someone else is locally logging into your account (from you PC or same network, etc.) and Anet would NEVER be able to tell it was not you. If this turns out to be the case, this is going to be a difficult and possibly painful situation to try and clear up (if it actually can be).
I have never spent a copper on items to specifically toss in the flusher and I never plan to.
I toss in some Rares (that I don’t salvage for ectos) and use it keep my upgrades to a minimum (sigils, runes, gems and marks). Other than that it gets very little of my attention. (A Mystic Salvage kit or 2 when I scrounge up enough MF stones).
Nobody here can correct an error in another website calculations….might want to post your concerns at that sight (if possible). Now if it’s a problem with the in-game display of stats, that needs to be reported in-game to get addressed (or maybe the BUG forums here).
Mystic forge = Mystic Toilet = Mystic Flusher = MF. You can toss in 4 items and get on (maybe better) in return. You only get a RARE 20% of the time and as mentioned above it’s RANDOM, so it’s certainly not a guaranteed return (basically gambling your gold).
I know the TP flippers are going to be upset with me, but DO NOT EVER sell immediately. Your wallet will thank me in the long run.
The secret to making money on the TP is putting in SELL ORDERS and waiting a day or so for the higher amount of money to get accumulated.
Bottom line, it costs YOU 15% to sell something.
You list an item on the TP for 10g. You have to play 50s to put this listing in.
The item costs the buyer the amount you listed, 10g.
When you go to the TP to pick up your funds, you will get 9g.
Just to head off the, “that sucks!” reply, the fee is a necessary gold sink (way to remove gold from the in game economy).
On the OPs original point, nobody should tell you to GTFO if you mention those roles, but it DOES need to be pointed out that attempting to play the game using them is completely unnecessary and frankly kind of ignorant of the games mechanics.
Now if your comments lean toward wanting the game CHANGED to support or require those roles, then I have no problem with the GTFO responses…if you want those roles, there are other games that use them. Can you seriously blame long time players that DO NOT want to see this game altered into a poor imitation of some other game?
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
While there is no reason for a player to be immediately rude to a new contact, I think categorizing what was stated as “verbal abuse” is a bit of exaggeration. A single curse word (not describing or directed at the OP) is certainly rude, but not abusive. Get some thicker skin if you plan to traverse the idiot-net….
The game has a swear filter built in, so if the use of curse words “abuses” your ears, turn it on. Just for the record, I am NOT defending those that swear or curse in chat, just that calling what was said “verbal abuse” kind of diminishes what ACTUAL verbal abuse really is.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Why do these Precursor threads list the hours logged in? The number of hours you are logged into the game has NO bearing on how many actual chances to get a precursor (via MF tosses, kills, etc.). The OP could have been standing idle in LA chatting for 2000 hours (not saying that’s the case).
Yes, the hours you are logged on DOES indicate how obsesiv….err dedicated you may be to GW2, but it gives NO indication as to the type of activities you participate in that actually CAN generate a Precursor drop.
Tis a silly number!
Never happened and I believe they did address this here and I think on some social media posts. Not gonna happen at this point.
I really don’t blame support for not reading your ticket as it’s obvious this is an internal guild issue and they are NOT going to get involved. Not being mean, but Anet has been pretty clear about steering clear of internal Guild issues like this.
Not saying who is right or wrong, just that Anet is not going to address this kind of situation one way or another.
Some had had this same issue and reinstalling the game in a new directory seems to fix it try reinstalling or moving to a new folder like C:\Games\Guildwars2 for some reason on some systems installing it to the default directory causes this issue.
This is likely a Windows 7 user privilege / UAC issue. If the user you are logged in as does not have administrator privileges, many games / programs will likely have setup and even run issues. (The Windows 7 Programs folders are protected by default).
…..
Being able to “counterattack” every single attack a foe throws at you simply because he has the disadvantage of being a ranged attacker is broken.
….
But it CAN’T counter “every single attack”….only those that are made during a specific period of time. If players could generate non-stop reflects, then it would be broken, but as is, it should make the attacker pay attention. Note that ALL attack chains can be halted in some manner (moving, dodge, ESC key, etc.).
Despite what you think, YOU need to alter your play style, not request that Anet change the game mechanics to suit how you are playing.

….. I see a 25~ FPS difference between an i5 and i7 clock vs clock (4790K vs 4670K) using the same GPU.
Sorry….gotta call BS on that claim. MAYBE in an low load zone by yourself but not when anything (combat) is actually happening.
You should save BL kits for when you need the upgrades off an item. Unless you are opening lots of BL chests, you won’t be getting a lot of them (sans buying them).
BTW, there is nothing wrong with the BL kit in terms of Dark Mater….sounds like you just had some bad RNG luck (it happens to everyone at times).

They are an option.
Your “experience” is what you want it to be….use them or don’t…again, an option.
First world problem of very little importance to the average player.
…next….
….. I had open ended deadlines for extremely important things in my line of work, but I don’t have that luxury,…..
I think the definition of “extremely important” is the issue here. How does Minion AI effect anyone but a minor segment of less than 1/8th the playerbase? Does it need tweaking? Certainly, but classifying it as “extremely important” is just exaggeration from a one specific point of view.
Yes, there are other issues that DO effect a large portion of the playerbase that have gone largely unaddressed and you point is valid for those, but don’t point at Minon AI like it’s some major feature of the overall product. Exaggerating such claims reduces the legitimacy of your arguments.

While that could be (see above about “cheap” video cards) a great video card for other newer games, it’s likely overkill for GW2. I also think an i7 is overkill for GW2 but others seem to think the minor improvement over an i5 is worth the extra money.
I do not think the hardware exists to run GW2 at max settings in all modes (see WvW) and situations (huge ZERG) “smoothly”.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Jeez….Wanze’s TP totals are just humbling….he’s paid about 10x in TP fees than I have ever seen….
While the idea is overall more streamlined, reworking the entire item and crafting system (and making sure nobody gets the short end of a stick) sounds like a LOT of work.
Also, what does this “change” do to every piece of equipment listed on the TP (or the prices in general)?
So what’s the point with excessive downscaling in the first place?
That even a LVL 80 should feel some sort of risk when entering even a low level exploitable zone. I also take issue that it is “excessive”, but that’s what this thread is about.
Isn’t Sinister really a HYBRID set more than just a full out Condition Damage one?
Your Trait choices need to keep in mind that you are going to get a very decent amount of direct Power damage and Crits (but no additional Crit damage) while being fairly squishy in that armor.
I’ll be quite surprised if Burning doesn’t get some nerfing tomorrow (hopefully not hard enough to make it a useless condition).
Looks like that estimate does not include Southsun, Dry Top or Silverwastes.
So I think it’s safe to say the current PvE playable area is right around the 100 km square mark.
I’ve seen a number of numeric examples of this issue across half a dozen threads and have yet to see anything that is horrifically out of whack in the numbers. So you are doing slightly less damage to a foe than a lower level in a downscaled zone….if you are seriously in jeopardy of dying in any of these scenarios, I doubt the real issue is the downscalling changes.
I get the OP posted he has some sort of disability that exacerbates the issue, but that part of the issue is really NOT part of the downscalling issue. Note that I’m not trying to be insensitive to or dismissive of the OPs condition, but the general difficulty of the game we are talking about is not that high to begin with.
…..
Example: My human character has never left DR….
Sorry OP, all validity for your argument went FULL STOP right here.
If your character never left DR, how would they know how to travel to a WP elsewhere?
A “map buying” system to open up WP for places a character has never been kind of defeats the purpose for exploring the world the Devs have worked so hard to create.
Can’t support this.
You can log in to the MY ACCOUNT > SECURITY on this site and remove all authorized networks. Then ANY log in would trigger the authentication you have set up
Keep in mind that if they get into your users, they have access to the browsers that store all your saved passwords…. (they have to know your log in PW to display them, however).
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
There is no chance (nor reason) that Anet would even consider this request (to change the number of Salvages a kit offers). There are numerous other solutions to the OPs issue.
…..
After the patch, it’s possible to change stats on ascended gear (armour/weps) in mystic forge for the cost of 5 ectos/inscription or insignia. So more than ever, legendaries are about visuals.
Not exactly. You can EXCHANGE one Ascended stat item for another stat set (entirely NEW weapon / armor piece), but those Sigils and Runes you are saying makes the swapping of stats on a Legendary unimportant are completely LOST in the exchange process.
I think if new player survives PS to this moment, VoD can’t make it any worse for him. I miss GW1 mission, especially Canthan ones.
I will say there have been VERY few GW2 PS missions that I have felt as satisfied at completing as getting MASTER on some of the later Canthan GW1 missions….The one in the Jade Sea with the Truttle Hatchlings was truly a major achievement to get MASTER on (just getting past it with only Henchmen before Nightfall was a major accomplishment).
BTW, the Dev (in the previous thread on this issue) described the solution as standing on the 2nd jagged rock “tooth” from the left and sliding straight down to the rock halfway down (you will take some pretty good damage). Hold there until you heal up and then slide toward the center (away from the rocks further down on the left) and into the pool. That’s how I finally got down recently.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Keep in mind that this JP entrance has “changed” multiple times whenever a major LA revamp has happened. It appears to be some issue with some mechanism in the map changes (even tho this area does not visibly change) turning on and off (or drastically changing) the drop damage taken in the area.
Prior to the NEW LA, you could drop and hit just about anything (other than not hitting the water at the bottom) and take minimal or NO damage at all.
When the “Broken LA” first opened again after LS1 ended, this issue also existed and it was complained about and eventually one of the game updates stealth fixed it back to the no/low damage version.
Note that I seem to recall that it always coincides with the hill going up to the blind hole (right after the jump over the boxes and before the circular rock jumping around to the slide start / Vista) appearing to be more difficult to go up. There seems to be some invisible steps or rough ground that you can’t just run straight up but have to jump around a bit to advance. I recall running into that when the NEW LA recently opened and thinking, “Hmmm…..the last time I had problems here the slide down to the Chompy’s pool killed me….”. Sure enough the higher damage going down that slide is back.
Other than a blurb about using the rocks on the side as a possible solution when it was killing everyone, I don’t recall the Devs ever stating one way or another which version was “right”, but since they changed it back with a stealth fix, I always felt it was suppose to NOT be overly dangerous (the low/no damage version).
It will be interesting to see if they stealth fix it again or a Dev bothers to comment on this.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Keep in mind you aren’t really changing the stats on an item but you are exchanging it for a new one with different stats (and you loose any upgrades in the existing item).
